"This casual eatery is one of Chevy Chase’s more family-friendly dining options. If the name sounds familiar, it may be from the national headlines it generated after a regular left a $2,000 tip on a $93 tab a few years back. Or perhaps it’s the Monday-only fried chicken deal that lures in folks from all over that rings a bell." - Mekita Rivas, Tierney Plumb

"A few years ago, Blue 44’s gumbo inspired an anonymous patron to leave a $2,000 tip because he loved the food so much. That got the dish a promotion from a soup of the day to a regular entrée item. The chicken- and andouille sausage gumbo is served with a scoop of white rice and scallions." - Lani Furbank

Today I stopped by this spot for the first time for lunch after a business meeting and it did not disappoint. Rod was my bartender and was very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations. The grilled cheese with chicken was amazing and the gumbo was supposed to be taken home for later but my spoon would not stay still. Oh and the DMV Manhattan was really nice. I was also fortunate to have a quick convo with the owner, Chris. Good guy and overall great place. I highly recommend it and don’t forget to check out their restroom. I know that sounds weird, but it looks better than some residential bathrooms! I’ll be back for dinner!

It's been a staple in the neighborhood for a reason. Fried chicken Mondays. BLT deviled eggs. Fish tacos. Etc etc. A variety of good options. Even the Caesar salad is really good. Outdoor patio or indoor restaurant, it's a cozy and comfortable environment to enjoy a nice local restaurant

We tried Blue 44 Restaurant and Bar for the first time in December 2020. Our order included the fried chicken with sides (garlicky green beans, mashed potatoes, gravy, and a biscuit) and gumbo, which comes with rice topped with scallions. We were very lucky to also receive two scrumptious desserts in our order - a chocolate silk pie (came with chocolate sauce and whipped cream) and a cheesecake (came with a berry compote and whipped cream). Everything was delicious! The fried chicken was well-seasoned and crispy, not oily, the mashed potatoes were super creamy and smooth, the garlicky green beans had just the right amount of garlic on them, and the biscuit was good enough to eat plain! The gumbo had just the right amount of spiciness to it, the pulled chicken in it was very tender, and the gumbo tasted great with the rice. The desserts were so good, too - light and decadent without being too sweet. Additionally, the individuals affiliated with this restaurant are great people! The owner is really kind, the chefs are so talented, and all the staff we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. This is a great place, and we highly recommend it!

We have had the pleasure to partner with Blue 44 for a large event at Escher apartments, a luxury community in the Washington metropolitan area, and we have been amazed by the attention to detail, quality of service, and deliciousness of the food options offered. We worked closely with Chris, and he went above and beyond our expectations. He has managed to put together a fantastic menu in just a matter of days, personally delivered and staged the event, and made sure everything was in place for our residents to enjoy. So many compliments for the food that night, and we owe it all to Chris and his team at Blue44!

Google
By far the BEST gumbo in town, now that Acadiana and Louisiana Kitchen have closed. Can't wait to go back and try their award winning Fried Chicken on Mondays. Good menu selections for vegans and gluten sensitives too.

Google
Excellent service. Fair prices. We went on a Sunday evening without reservations. It seems they are currently serving a limited menu. The food is an eclectic blend of American and European (northern and southern) and is very well prepared and presented in an upscale casual fashion. Well worth a revisit.

Google
I recently visited Blue 44 for lunch, and overall, I found it to be a decent dining experience. The ambiance was cozy and inviting, providing a comfortable setting for a midday meal. The menu offered a variety of options, and the food quality was satisfactory, with flavors that pleased the palate. However, I couldn't help but notice that the prices were a bit on the higher side for the portion sizes and offerings provided. While I enjoyed my meal, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was paying a premium for what I received. That said, Blue 44 is still worth a try if you're in the area and looking for a nice lunch spot with decent food, albeit at slightly elevated prices.

Can't beat Fried Chicken Monday. Three courses were enough to feed me tomorrow, as well, but you better believe I ate the whole dessert. Mocha semifreddo. Divine.

Yelp
Good food and service -- setting is basic yet comfortable. Would recommend to others for lunch or an early dinner.

Yelp
Came here for Tour del Taco and got the fish tacos. Overall very bland and each taco only contained fish (breaded but not crispy at all) and some red cabbage. They came with an option of fries or a small side salad which were fine, I guess. I was moderately hungry but opted to not finish the meal with how unflavorful it was. For $25, I felt very ripped off. They really need to add some more ingredients + spices to the tacos.

Yelp
I went to a movie at the Avalon theatre across Connecticut ave and was hungry. Sunday and nothing is really open at 6:30 PM. I decided on Blue 44. It's a small place but nice. I grabbed a seat at the bar. Staff was busy so I watched the game (Cowboys losing to the Commanders). When the bartender came by I ordered a Peroni in a bottle. Came with a chilled glass. Very tasty. The menu is small but covers most cravings I ordered the burger with pepper jack cheese. When it came out the fries were crispy and hot and burger cooked a little under what I asked for but it it was still good. Definitely will be back.

Yelp
Ordered online the Salmon Nicoise Salad to go and it was better than expected. Good size salmon piece (~4oz) in a separate container. The salad had all the fixings (no egg per request; tomato and capers and dressing in separate containers without asking). The salad, green beans, red peppers, potatoes and olives were FRESH!!!! This salad can feed 2 people so get it with extra salmon and you've got 2 meals!

Cristy R.

Yelp
Discovered this place on Yelp before heading over to the Avalon and figured we would give it a try. Although he didn't bring the bread out, our waiter was *excellent*. My date had a soooooper yummy cocktail made with both gin and vodka and i got a glass of the French Pinot Noir (excellent!). We both had the steak frites. Steak had good flavor and just enough fat for my liking. It was perfectly cooked but needed a little salt and pepper. The frites were disappointing (soggy). We will certainly consider returning and trying something different next time. Recommend giving it a shot.

Yelp
I live about 10 miles from this place, and Connecticut traffic is no picnic, but it remains my favorite neighborhood place. The food is outstanding - everything on the menu is a surprise. You walk in and thing " ok nice, but nothing special - unpretentious." But then the first bite, and the second, and you are like - " whoa - wait a minute!" The gumbo is especially good - I often get one to go - and the Pittsburgh cheesesteak? Forget about it Philly - get on I 95 and try this one! This last time I decided to range out from my favorites, and try the pasta bolognese. Boring, right? Nope - eyes roll back in the head good. Oh and remember the unpretentious part? Yep, totally kid friendly. Huzzah for Blue 44 - may you live long and prosper!

Yelp
Blue 44 is a small place with mostly booth seating and some tables. It has a small bar at the back of the restaurant. They seated me and my friend next to a table with a screaming baby, but when I asked to move our table, they found us a nice table in the back far away from the noise. They quickly got us water and then our server came over and told us about the specials. I immediately chose the fried chicken special. For $20 I got a breast, a thigh, and a leg, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans (which, unfortunately were cold), and a biscuit. My friend got the tuna nicoise. My food was delicious! Usually, fried breasts are dry, but mine was moist and the chicken was well-seasoned. I loved the gravy! I saved some to dip my biscuit into. The regular menu had some nice choices. I'm not sure what happened but our server never came back to check on us or refill my empty water glass. We had to call someone over to give us the check and then take our payment. We wanted the check split, but the person didn't understand and got it wrong. There needs to be some improvements, but the restaurant has a lot of promise if they can fix the service issues and make sure the food is hot. I still recommend going!

Jim W.

Yelp
Friendly service, nice interior space. Flat bread was delicious as was the gumbo. Solid go to neighborhood restaurant!

Anne C.

Yelp
What a charming local bistro. Stopped in for a quick bite last night and had the most delicious grilled cheese sandwich. Munster, spinach, apricot preserves, bacon. Absolutely perfect and hit all the notes. Can't wait to go back.

Cortney K.

Yelp
We went here for Valentine's Day dinner with some Friends. It wasn't super busy and they seated us right away since we had reservations. Food wise, we have to give it a 3 :( ONLY because we all felt like it was lacking seasoning. All the dishes looked amazing! But the flavor was missing seasoning to keep us coming back. We had to use salt and pepper consistently lol. But we are from a more southern area in MD than this area so it could be fine and catered to the area demographic! I would recommend it, but if you like seasoning like us, I'm not sure if I could recommend it. Great service too!!!

Yelp
Blue 44 is one of those restaurants that offers good service and decent food, but yet fails to deliver anything really memorable. I've been to Blue 44 on two separate occasions, yet both occasions didn't leave any impressions on me. My friend invited me to Blue 44 for lunch in my most recent visit. Upon sitting down, the waiter came by to take our orders within 5 minutes. We received our food fairly quickly for a full restaurant. I ordered chili along with the "Pittsburgh Style" Cheese Steak. The chili was hearty and flavored well. For the Pittsburgh style cheese steak, I've never had one, so I can't judge how good theirs is relative to other restaurants. However, I will say that I didn't like it, especially because there wasn't enough meat flavor relative to the coleslaw and fries.

Yelp
The reviews on this lovely app is what prompted me to visit! Unfortunately, the past reviews did not translate into my experience. My friend and I were seated right away. I ordered the Fried Green Tomatoes for my appetizer. It came out in nice time. The dish wasn't great at all; in fact, I had to send it back. There was an overpowering lemony taste... Ugh, just not great! For my entrée, I ordered the fish of the day (Trout). It was pan roasted, with brussel sprouts and potatoes. The fish was very bland, and ill-seasoned. I wouldn't go back again, and I don't recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
Food: super delish. We got the braised shortrib, fish special, fried oysters, margaritas and beer. Very flavorful. Service: friendly, prompt, great. Vibe: super clean, casual, family yet upscale vibe. We had a delish diner and will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
Fried chicken is Monday night special, reportedly excellent, woulda tried it but today's Sunday. So I'm testing their burger, which is an 8-ouncer, from Creekstone Farms beef https://www.creekstonefarms.com/?&gclid=CjwKCAjwsIbpBRBNEiwAZF8-z4kQTwB5uw9ljYR5Ob18im-edvk8pufG_sedy8wNNmVaijP1ksZPmhoCFTkQAvD_BwE not familiar to me, but appears a high quality operation in Kansas. Wow, the burger is very good, cooked RARE, which is, well, rare. Service was attentive. Food came out quickly. Also, I learned from a diner seated outside that Blue 44 provides water bowls for pets out on the patio.

Michael Y.

Yelp
Not quite in DC, Blue 44 still brings the vibes of an exquisite city diner. The ambience is great, menu is complete, and service is very professional. Despite how crowded the place was, I was still seated in a reasonable wait time. In addition, the food came out super quick, which was a pleasant surprise. I went with the mussel starter and the pork duo, and was not disappointed. The mussel immersed in tomato soup was a good seafood feel. The flavor could have had more tang to it, but the mussels were cooked well (one of them had some sand but that's all). The pork duo consisted of a pork sausage and pork chops. I'm a big fan of tender meat, and the pork chops were done medium-well, so I wasn't a huge fan of it, but the flavor was still pretty good. The presentation is also excellent for the food. My visit was definitely worth it, and I hope to come back here soon for more.

Aysia F.

Yelp
Came back for their famous fried chicken dinner and it exceeded the hype! SO SO good! The fried chicken dinner comes with a salad and dessert and the actually dinner comes with mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans a homemade biscuit. I ordered mine togo so I am not sure that I got the "full experience" but even togo, it was hot, fresh and delicious. I loved it and will be getting it again very soon.

Jessica H.

Yelp
The service was fantastic, and they did an excellent job of recommending outstanding and incredibly tasty dishes from their menu. I enjoyed my visit here.

Daniela Z.

Yelp
Delicious food and attentive staff. We were a large group including children. We had many different dishes and all were excellent

Dan M.

Yelp
In an area of town lacking in signature dining options, the bar for quality has been seriously lowered. I think that is the only reason local residents continue to give a pass to Blue, which is way overpriced and fairly forgettable. The food is ok. It will sustain life for a while, but nothing tastes fresh, and none of the flavors are knockouts. We tried the fried fish tacos and Pittsburgh style cheesesteak, which means stuffed with fries primanti bros style. We also shared a side of brocolli rabe with chili flakes. The meat is cafeteria quality, almost fake looking. I feel I am being overly harsh because the quality is not terrible, and you won't be disgusted. But I can't imagine someone walking away satisfied. If I had paid $5 for it in a cafeteria, I would have gotten exactly what I expected. But to pay good money for it, it's just not worth it.

Michael G.

Yelp
Food so good I'm writing my review before the check arrives! The butternut squash soup was the perfect blend of earthy, whipped to perfection. The polenta was excellent and cooked evenly, the mushrooms atop it firm and succulent. The steak was exactly as you want a medium rare steak. Cocktails were great! The staff is polite, respectful and does not leave you waiting or feeling bothered.

Yelp
Located in Chevy Chase on Connecticut Avenue is Blue 44. It's a unique little restaurant that brings old and conventional food with with a modern, sophisticated atmosphere. My wife and I showed up for brunch right when they were supposed to open up, but when I pulled on the door it was still locked. We ended up standing outside 10 minutes before the host finally realized the door was locked. It was an innocent mistake, but had we not got his attention who knows how long we could of been standing out there. Frankly we almost went somewhere else. For brunch I got the crab cake sandwich with arugula salad. It was very tasty. My wife got the eggs benedict and she throughly enjoyed it. The restaurant was clean and well maintained. Our waitress wasn't great and wasn't terrible. She was just average. She didn't seem too enthusiastic or seem happy. I guess you could say she was just going through the motions. If you are driving your best bet is street parking for the weekends since it's free, but I'm pretty sure there was a small parking lot around the back of the restaurant. I think it was $20 for the day. As far returning to Blue 44. We'd probably come back and give dinner a try to see if it's as good as brunch.

Yelp
The food is about as good as an upscale neighborhood bistro can get. Great menu and terrific execution. But there's more! I got a call from Blue 44 the afternoon of my res...which was for an outdoor table...for our out of town guests and us...all still careful about Covid. But the forecast called for storms that evening. My new BFF asked if we might dine inside if the weather turned bad in order to balance his reservations for the evening. When I demurred, he said - call you back in 5 - which he did and guaranteed he could fit us in (all 5) under the eave just in case, as the regular outdoor tables are covered by umbrellas which might not be enough in a storm. Guess what? The heavens opened up while we were dining, high and dry under the eave. And the food was wonderful, as well as the service. This is what a neighborhood bistro should be, in all ways. We'll be back again and again. Thanks Blue 44 for a great get together with old friends.

Julia P.

Yelp
Blue44 is constantly a reliable source of great, reasonably priced food. From their calamari to daily grilled cheese specials, Blue 44 nails all cuisines. They have options for everyone, regardless of age, taste or dietary restrictions. The food is classic American- think Caesars and burgers, but with a regional twist of good seafood, local ingredients and exceptional hospitality. A must have fish is the calamari- sautéed not fried with polenta (grits if you want to call it that) and a rich tomato base. It's delicious. The service is great- my father used to come here in a bulky wheelchair and they were always accommodating. Now, a year after his death, a favorite waiter, Oscar reminisces with me and my mother about him. I would love to add more photos of the food, but reviews are often an afterthought once the dish comes. The flavors, quantities and all over feel good atmosphere makes most meals fly by. We love it here; Blue44 is a gem in Chevy Chase.

Sherry S.

Yelp
4 of us stopped in here for dinner after a movie. Nice to be able to get a table at 7:30 without a res on a Sat. night. Food was OK, other than my chicken being somewhat dry. Server was very accommodating to give one of us tastes of 2 wines for her to choose. However, everything came out at once, even though we ordered appetizers. Very strange. Made for a crowded table.

Craig M.

Yelp
The food was flavorful and some dishes were novel or innovative. The service was polite and attentive. There is convenient parking in the back of the building. We went out of the way to try this place. We were looking for something new and the reviews looked good. It wasn't everything I hoped for, but it was good enough to recommend. If I was in the neighborhood again, I would definitely go back.

Lan T.

Yelp
I came here for the first time on a Thursday around 7pm. The place was pretty full, but my friend and I were able to get a booth. The design of the place is really nice, although I was hoping for a more family/neighborhood-feel type of restaurant. Anyway, I thought the service was really good. The wait staff seemed to be very attentive and happy to be there. I ordered the philly cheesesteak. It was HUGE! I was expecting a typical looking cheesesteak, but this was totally different. It had juicy slices of steak and provolone cheese. But the sandwich also had fries, tomatoes, and I think onions? It was seriously like 5 inches thick. I only ate half of it. It was very delicious though. The dish came with fries. The fries looked like they were cajun style, but they didn't taste that way. I wish the fries were crispy and had some sort of flavoring to them. Oh well! My friend got the baby back ribs. She had no complaints. I thought that for $19, she should have gotten more, but that was just my opinion. She didn't seem to mind. I was also hoping that they offered some happy hour specials, but it didn't seem like it. The wine/beer list is a tad limited, but hopefully it will increase as business picks up. I also hope that they have outdoor seating soon. That usually pulls people in, especially for the upcoming summer months!

Stuart M.

Yelp
My Wife And I found this place after going to the Avalon for the first time. By the way, check out the theater if you haven't been there. It is not a chain. First run and art films, with comfortable seating. This is a low key neighborhood restaurant with good food and competitive pricing for the area. We started with lentil soup, which was hearty, nicely flavored, and took the chill out of our bones. On to an arugula salad that had, sliced almonds, dates, cranberries, and dressing. A good balance of tastes and textures. We added a 1/2 grilled cheese to the chili. The grilled cheese varies daily. Today it had bacon, fontina, arugula, and sweet onion. Worth trying. Finally, we went with the sautéed flounder which came with brussels sprouts, acorn squash and potato discs. Another winner. The $21 cost was more than fair. A couple of small gripes. One wall was mirrored, but that doesn't make the place bigger. There were 2 large screens cranking out sports, giving the place a sports bar feel. And my most common pet peeve, the water glasses were too small. Why obligate the wait staff to make frequent trips to your table. My minimum size would be 12 ounces. Still over all, a positive experience, and one we intend to have again.

Ultra Black T.

Yelp
We will be back . Fransisco the bartender was great very accommodating. I ordered the salad with blackened salmon it was perfect. I ordered the mussels the sauces was good however, the mussels were small and Sandy. The Italian sausage soup was hearty. We will be back

Maria P.

Yelp
Blue 44 is a great neighborhood spot. Good menu with specials every day and the food is consistently good . Service is always way better than the average DC restaurant.

Erin H.

Yelp
I wanted the other reviews to be wrong, but they were right. The staff were super nice and friendly, they have a good outdoor eating area. But the food was just okay. It wasn't gross, just nothing special. Everyone I was with said they wished the food had more seasoning and flavor. I got the cheese burger with blue cheese and thought the cheese taste was too strong. It would have been great otherwise. So if you come here the burger and fries won't disappoint, but don't expect much from the other dishes.

Jim H.

Yelp
Service was was friendly but not attentive. Took too long to get drinks and then waited even longer for the very young waiter to take out order. Dirty plates remained on the table for the duration of the meal. The "filet" steak is a tough cut of meat which is far from a filet. The restaurant itself is nice and a unique atmosphere. Probably a better place for sandwich and burger versus a steak dinner.

Dara F.

Yelp
Our family of 5 loved coming here before the pandemic. We finally began venturing out to eat again and headed back to Blue 44 for an old time favorite. It did not disappoint! All the food was delicious and the service was great. We felt safe and relaxed dining outside. So glad to be back at Blue 44! Definitely get the chicken wings as a starter.

Andra A.

Yelp
This was a great find for us! I was meeting my kids and their friends in D.C. For an informal get together and this place was friendly, accommodating and had delicious food and drinks. I started with a delicious glass of red wine and we all shared the fried oysters, muscles and salad appetizers. Sooo delicious! Then we all tried different dishes, from the hangar steak to the ravioli to the chicken. All were excellent as well. I loved the free range chicken dish. The kids who had the steaks raved about them and had enough to take home for another full meal. The service was very good too. Only issue is that the place is rather pricey. Expect to pay $45-$55 per person, for essentially a casual restaurant. Otherwise, I'd highly recommend.

Jamil S.

Yelp
This is a very correct neighborhood restaurant. It has a good, varied menu. The food is quite good but not spectacular. The wait staff is very pleasant. And the setting is comfortable. The value for money is quite good!

Benjamin K.

Yelp
Chris Nardelli is the kinda restaurant owner that every family oriented community dreams of. He is cool, and makes you feel welcome. He and his staff seamlessly handled our party of ten and a packed house without missing a beat. Food was fantastic and service was top notch. Can't say enough about Blue 44.

Rod A.

Yelp
I live nearby and I've been to this restaurant several times. The food has always been high quality and the service very good. Outdoor seating is limited, but I've never had any difficulty getting an outdoor table. The menu is simple, but everything on it is done well. I'm especially fond of the daily special of half grilled cheese and half soup.

Judy C.

Yelp
I'm going to come again! Food (Turkey burger with argula salad) was delicious! Service was excellent.

Anatole F.

Yelp
It's been a few years since ive been to this restaurant but oh my goodness I was very impressed. It's a cute cosy interior and the food is absolutely delicious. Being a seafood person I loved the seafood linguine with the amazing flatbread appetizer that was more than divine. I say for a local American restaurant with lots of choices, this one is a goldmine.

Pia S.

Yelp
Love coming to this place! They have the best shrimp pasta and beef medallions. Both cooked to perfection. Old bay wings will not disappoint. Ambiance is good. local residents dine here which says a lot.

Dominic L.

Yelp
Blue 44 is definitely my favorite place to eat in the neighborhood. It's also really matured over the years. The menu was slightly revamped recently and the new additions are delicious. The Old Bay Wings are underrated; the duck sliders are delicious and come with different sauces; they have a good spinach salad (that I would like to be available as a side to other meals); and their Blue Plate Specials have always been something I love. Since my last review the wait staff has gotten a lot better and they still have my favorite waiter who is awesome. And I said it before and I'll say it again, I would love the bar chips to be on the menu. Delicious!

Savannah W.

Yelp
I went to Blue 44 for the first time last week after living in the same neighborhood for 6 months. I've never been very impressed by the outside of the restaurant - their sign and location in the strip mall is a little weird - but I see it the most consistently packed out of all the nearby restaurants. I also saw all the great Yelp reviews and thought I needed to make a trip. I ordered the pierogies on the recommendation of some Yelp reviews and the chicken & brie sandwich. The pierogies were fantastic and melted in my mouth. I even ate a few heapings of the onions that were the bed for the pierogies and I usually can't stand onions. The chicken and brie was wonderful. It's a more traditional sandwich but the apple and brie flavors together are always a go-to for me. My friend got a veggie burger and she said she also liked it a lot. We also just kept on chatting about how good the accompanying fries were. We went on what seemed to be a pretty busy Friday night and the waiters were still pretty diligent about filling our glasses of water once they were half empty. The only complaint I had about the ambiance is that I had to talk a little louder than I usually do during dinner as it was hard to have a conversation with my companion. The waiter also had a hard time hearing us when we were ordering. I don't know if this was because of the other diners or the setup of the restaurant.

Christopher C.

Yelp
3.5 Stars Chevy Chase doesn't have a lot of dining options, although things have improved in recent years. One such relative newcomer is Blue 44, and it's apparently just what the neighbors were looking for; the Wednesday night I stopped in it was filled with families. Fortunately, for solo diners, there's a nine-seat bar in the back, complete with three draft lines that included Troegs' Perpetual and Oskar Blues' Old Chub, and call brand liquors such as Plymouth gin. The owner is from Pittsburgh (I guess that accounts for the pierogi appetizer) and the name is a reference to that (Pittsburgh being the Blue City and all) and a Boston Celtic (not sure which one). The interior has pressed tin ceilings and black and white half timbered walls, giving it somewhat upscale feeling, and the menu is fairly ambitious (think bison bolongese, braised pork shank, and cioppino), but mains are all under $25. They also have wings, burgers, and tacos to please those who just want to watch the game at the bar. All in all, a great local place a drink and some grub before heading across the street to the Avalon to catch an indy flick.

I was very disappointed with my lunch experience there. Decor, ambiance and service were nice, but the crab cake sandwich ($18) was really bland. Very little crab meat, no flavor at all. A leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato and a few red onion slices. That's it: no sauce, no spices, not even a lemon wedge on the side. I don't think I will go back.

Yelp
The food was delicious. They have a cute outdoor seating area. The food is a bit expensive but it's worth it. The quality and taste are great along with an amazing presentation. There always seems to be people dining in there. Would definitely retje

Yelp
Great service and an easy "go-to" for quality lunch during the workday. Don't miss the tomato soup!! The owner, Chris, is super attentive and always remembers my name and says hello... Unfortunately unique these days. Kudos

Yelp
Overall, great restaurant and DEFINITELY worth a visit! The service was fantastic...friendly and accommodating staff! They let us (two people) sit at a very large table. Probably because they weren't super busy, but still. The staff was also very attentive and friendly - which are "musts" in my eyes. The food was amazing! Fresh, made to serve, and large portions. The actual restaurant was clean and appealing. The place looks well cared for. If you're in the neighborhood, give this place a try!

Yelp
I went to brunch here and it was delicious! Everything was fresh and delicious. They do open at 11am for brunch, which is kind of late. But we arrived right at 11 and it wasn't busy at all. After brunch, I can't wait to go back to try dinner.

Yelp
The women were in search of a good burger, but I wanted more, so a little research lead me to suggest that we try Blue 44, and I'm glad that we did. The beer selection is nicely varied, but I settled on a featured berry-muddled old fashioned, which was excellent, for my adult beverage. The three of us shared Eastern Shore Deviled Eggs appetizer, which feature Boursin; each of the four is topped with a suitably sized, i.e. you could taste it, piece of lump crab meat. Excellent! The half dozen oysters that two of us shared, however, were small and not so much mild as without much flavor of any sort. Mains, which we three shared, were very good. Crystal's very good burger on an excellent roll, and my Nicoise Salad, with a lemon vinaigrette and a grilled salmon filet instead of tuna, were both nicely priced and tasty, but hangar steak that Lynne ordered was a standout. Hand-mashed potatoes with roasted garlic nicely set off the spinach and the steak, which while medium-rare as ordered, had a wonderful char. Peach melba cheese cake was good, though not amazing, and our espressos and Tazo tea were a nice end to a very good, and sufficient, meal. We'll be back.
