4 Under-the-Radar New Restaurants to Check Out in New Orleans Right Now | Eater New Orleans

"A woman-owned, all-day café run by owner Nahomi Gomez offering Honduran specialties—baleadas, pupusas, tacos Hondureños, and pollo con tajadas, a fried chicken dish with slaw and fried green bananas also known as pollo chuco. The spot is described as a particularly charming addition to the area, with a bright, calming interior dotted with lush greenery, touches of wicker and rattan, and blue-and-white, Talavera-style tile." - Clair Lorell

10’s across the board! This place is so freaking good, I wish I could gatekeeper it, but people need to know how awesome this place is. The food is an 11, the people are super nice and charismatic, the ambiance is cozy and clean, the aesthetic is so authentic, and everything about this place is just amazing. Well, almost everything. The location could be a little better. The parking isn’t that great and getting into the parking lot is a tight enternece. In my opinion it’s well worth it tho.

Girls night dinner. The restaurant is in a strip mall in front of Sam's on Loyola near the airport. The place is small but decorated so cute lots of natural accents like wood and plants. Calm and relaxing. There is a long wooden banquette on one side of the room with pretty cushions. You get a menu at the counter, place your order &pay they bring your food to your table. It's Honduran style Latin food but they had a Tuesday special of Mexican street style tacos, choice of chicken or pork or combo. Delicious I had the combo.I found the pork to be well seasoned flavorful without being hot. The chicken was slightly less flavorful, but still yummy. The proteins were chopped into small bite sized pieces. Tacos were dressed with fresh cilantro & diced onions. The plate came with a side of grilled onions and a half a grilled jalapeno and some lime wedges. I feel the grilled onions were wasted on me, in the future I would ask to leave those off. One of the ladies ordered pupusas with chicken and cheese. My goodness that is delicious! It's a tortilla split open and stuffed with chicken and cheese. Sorry no photo of those we ate them too fast. One of the ladies ordered a horchata drink so pretty. Horchata is drink made from sugar and rice water and cinnamon , non-alcoholic. For dessert we split a flan. Flan is a custard with a light caramel sauce. The flan was good but I have had better. If you've never had it, try it. I will definitely try this place again. The ladies who own the business are sisters it's really a family business.

Hey yall I’m gonna need everyone to go out your house door. Get in your car! And drive ya butt to this eatery! I have always been a fan of Honduran food but man this place is so so authentic and delicious!!!! You can find allllllllllllllll the Honduran goods here!!! The team members that helped us treated us so kindly and with respect!!! Also the lighting is like perfect and it’s a little quaint spot to get some Honduran food!!!!! Trust me on this one!!! Thank yall so so much for delicious food and a wonderful experience!! The spot is super adorable as well, don’t pass it up tho as soon as you get off the Loyola exit in Kenner going toward Baton Rouge it’s the first shopping mall you come to right next to boost mobile and little caesars!!!! Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed!!!!!

Cute place, friendly service, and good food. I ordered the carne asada and asked the waitress if it is really tender as described. She assured me it was. This dish is usually a tough piece of meat but this one was tender and flavorful. It came with rice, beans, and pico de gallo. I thought the rice and beans could have used seasoning. I probably will come back to try some other items I noticed that was served at another table.

I got the pupusas, fried plaintains, and tamarindo juice. The pupusas were amazing and a generous size. The plaintains are delicious, and this is the only tamarindo I’ve had outside of jarritos, and I think I’ll just stick to tamarind candy from now on. (I already ate some of what’s in the picture.)

Yelp
Food and service was 10/10. I went here for lunch on a Saturday and there was ample parking, friendly service at the counter when you order, short wait and delicious food! I got the pollo con tajadas which was the best I've ever had. The horchata drink was heaven and the vibes and decor were inviting and relaxing. Pro tip- this restaurant is at loyola exit behind sam's. Don't follow the GPS to the airport road! I'll be back! 10/10 recommend.
