The founder of Blue Bottle Coffee is James Freeman.
He personally took orders for coffee beans roasted in San Francisco at the market every weekend. He weighed 60g of coffee beans on a scale, ground the beans, and sold hand-drip coffee using 94-degree water, which became a local specialty.
To this day, following the founder's philosophy on coffee, he focuses on providing the best coffee taste rather than increasing the number of stores.
Blue Bottle only uses beans roasted within 48 hours, and only uses eight menus and a single cup size.
Since the barista extracts a cup of coffee using a hand drip, it is also very interesting to watch the process directly. Through the process, customers can see why the coffee they drink is special.
Due to this, Blue Bottle's recognition worldwide is still not high, but no one can deny that the taste of the coffee is higher than Starbucks.
While Starbucks focuses a lot on the space so that customers can stay comfortably, the taste of the coffee is not consistent from store to store. Even though Blue Bottle has a small and simple space, it focuses on providing customers with the best coffee and making them feel special.
