Great outdoor seating, good service, matcha latte was ok but not the best I’ve had. I had better expectations based on the reviews.

Good coffee with some sort of bakery I need for breakfast. Chilling on a sunny day. The atmosphere is quiet plus plenty of chairs. Best for chilling and relax

Got the sweet latte with oat milk. Perfectly made and not overly sweet. Great spots throughout the shopping area to sit and chill. Love coming here every time I visit.

Seriously delicious coffee ☕️. My latte was perfect. Cute outdoor seating. Very friendly staff who honestly made a DELICIOUS cup of coffee, and I take my coffee seriously 😋 My daughter had a vegan latte with oat milk, and hers was perfect too. Pricey but worth it. Never go to Starbucks again.

11/3/24. There cash register was broken. But I am so impressed that they stayed so calm under the stress. Amazing staff and amazing coffee. We also tried the Chai Latte. It was really good 11/6/23 it does taste better if you get a oat latte every day. Many new staff. They all are very nice 7/2/22 Greg is amazing with his design on my latte 6/11/22 wow. The matcha oat latte is so good. I would like it stronger, but it is really nice. Should try it 3/15/22. Many new staff. Coffee is still good. Would like more avocado on my toast. The toasts are excellent 1/11/22 perfect coffee 12/21/2021. Still good coffee. It gets better if you go every day😂 9/11/2021. Coffee is so consistently good 9/6/21 - cafe latte was prepared by Gretchen today. Amazing 8/24/21 got an oat meal latte w/o sugar. Perfect. Prices have been increased in the last 12 months. It is on the pricey side for coffee $$$$ 8/7/21 - have the ham and cheese sandwich today. So yummy. 8/6/21. Come here almost everyday. The coffee are so good and the staff are so sweet. They are the best 4/10/2021 stopped here twice. Perfect day 3/23/2021 Trying a new latte for the last 2 days, Muscavado latte. Amazing 3/13/2021 another sweet surprise under my oatmeal latte. The baristas at this location are so sweet 3/6/2021 another suprise under the cap of my oatmeal latte. Love it 1/30/2021 We always appreciated the extra care the staff put into our coffe cup. Beautiful decorations beneath the coffee caps 1/24/2021 got a heart on our coffee today. Sweet!💜 12/9/2020 Macha Latte w milk. It is so much better than Starbucks, sorry Starbucks. I found a surprise under the cover. It was beautiful before I messed it up. Thank you for the surprise 12/5/2020 we finally got our surprise under the cover of our coffee cups this time. However, our Batistas are out of practice. Their art works were better before. Must be the pandemic. The latte is still really good. Should always order extra hot 10/4/2020 It was so nice to find the beautiful decorations under the caps of our coffees. Thank you❤ 8/25/2020 services for this location is hit and missed. When it is good, it is so good. When it is bad..wow. 11am Tuesday and bad services! The day just started! I think she is new. I don't remember seeing her here before. Completely rude. Ordered coffee w foods and liquid sugar on the side. When the order came out without it, I asked for it nicely. She told me that I should ask for it when I ordered. I told her I did and she repeatedly told me I should order the sugar in advance. We are here 4 times per week since it was opened, this the 2nd times the new ee was so rude. It is how she said it. Dont like to give bad review, but really have to do this one. Coffee and foods are still good Open your coffee shop already. We are going thru withdraw and it has nothing to do with coronavirus. They have excellent oatmeal lattee here. Lately, we are to Starbucks and Deluxe. But would love it if they would open. Most businesses are opened.

I love coffee here but did not like the tea.

The coffee was excellent & the location is prime. The flavor was excellent & I ordered a “Flat white” with almond milk. It was the right temperature and it tasted great. The foam art was on point too. A great pick me up in a bright and sunny day in Malibu. I’ve been a Starbucks guy most of the years but this was a refreshing change.

The workers are kind, the service is not super fast, it is in a serene little spot. I usually get a latte but it's been meh in my experience and it is pricey. However, my dad orders either espresso shots or an Americano and LOVES this place, comes here every time he is in Malibu.

Can't believe we didn't even know this was here till yesterday. We always go to Broad Street Oyster down the street and always thought this part was a dead end. I guess we never really paid any attention but there's a whole shopping center over here! Beautiful location with the perfect weather. We got lucky with parking, it's typically hard to find parking in this area in general. We walked over and surprisingly no other customers so we went straight to ordering an Iced Nola and Brown Sugar Pecan Scone! Somehow the first time I tried this chain was over at the century city mall and I absolutely loved it! Idk if this location just didn't make it as good and it wasn't as sweet n creamy as I liked but it was still good and drinkable. But I was over it halfway through. Still, not many coffee places around so it's nice that this one is here. Perhaps I'll try something else on the menu and may update my review. Also, the workers were busy chatting while making my drink so I wonder if they just didn't put enough creamer or something? We also had to wait for the young lady to finish her conversation with another worker before I paid because we wanted to add the scone to my transaction which took a few minutes. I got a hot matcha tea and a butternut squash scone, both of which were really great. Loved how strong they make the matcha. They had a great selection of pastries from Bakers Kneaded, and there were some light bites as well. The service was efficient and friendly, and the vibes here were very sunny and open. There are 8 or so tables outside, none inside. They also had some seasonal drinks that I'd love to try! Overall, a solid Blue Bottle location, would definitely return if I'm in the area again.

I wanted to give another chance to Blue Bottle hoping this time I get a much better experience... Unfortunately, the coffee again was not good. My 3 stars are for the lemon loaf only... The place looks nice , but again I noticed the same things with the servers as I always did , which is treating customers differently. It is not that they are rude, but ignoring some customers and acting very quiet like they don't exist, while being very active with others... Im not sure if I will be back. Being treated on almost every visit as the same..

I got the chocolate croissant and it was really good. Ask for it toasted so it's warm when you eat it! Staff are also really nice.

Oof. I ordered a hot spiced Nola latte...and what I got was an iced regular. Ok, no worries. I have no issue very politely asking for what I ordered for. The second time I got a hot regular...at which point I gave up. Partially because I didn't really feel like standing around waiting, and partially because while waiting for the second one, I noticed that the "off" ambiance I felt wasn't just a fluke ... They fixed a few other drinks in that time, sometimes saying the drink name, but often not. Like just setting the drink down, zero eye contact, zero asking for your name...nada. Aloof AF. And I realize I'm in Malibu, but damn, y'all. And the coffee? Weak af. But points from this non-dairy gal for making everything non-dairy so at least I don't have to worry about that

Open 630-630 each day, parking at this bustling Malibu center can be hit or miss. But then once you see the fit Blue Bottle Coffee shop, it just beckons you in. I believe them to have some of the best coffee in the game. That NOLA is so smooth and for a cold brew, you don't usually get it silky like that. I'm such a fan! This location has great staff, plus indoor and outdoor seating. Even cooler here? There is a community sensory garden so you can take your coffee over there, then listen to the pitter patter of rain drops in a bright blue rocking chair. Vibes and flavors for days!

I've been working in Malibu part-time recently and I think I fit in quite well with the financially privileged. I too, exude a relaxed, post-bohemian confidence that I balance alongside repeated existential crises, unremitting paranoia, and an unhealthy overreliance on a motley series of professional and unprofessional therapists. My stops at Blue Bottle Coffee in the Whole Foods plaza has been a pleasant respite from my work. I run a dog waste removal business and my main clients are pet psychics in the Malibu area. The work is not that difficult, but most all of the psychics tell me that the dogs don't respect me as a human because I'm moving their business around. I must admit that was hard to hear. My brother and I owned very successful dog waste removal businesses in the Inland Empire for some years until we got into a horrible fight over our company names- "Scoopy Doo" and "Crappy Doo" - with Warner Brothers' lawyers. My brother got out of the business and started doing something less glamorous, but I continued. The new company name that I tried was "Poopy Love." It didn't really take off, however, because my clients weren't comfortable with the signage on my work truck being parked in front of their houses. So, now I work exclusively by word-of-mouth in the pet psychic and horse medium communities in the greater Malibu area. Blue Bottle Coffee's location is a small but bright space that offers wonderful coffee and espresso roasts, a limited number of pastries, and a very nice seating area just outside of their glass storefront. It's elegant and efficient, and the folks that work there are not very chatty but quite nice and really know their coffee. Thank you Blue Bottle Coffee!

I remember going to the original BB in SF and was impressed then, and it's good to see that with all the success and expansion that they are still a reliable, solid option. I got the seasonal matcha latte with orange blossom. It was the perfect amount of floral. Not sweet (good!), but also not grassy enough, which is how I like my matcha. I guess I was in an orange blossom mood, because I got the pistachio orange blossom tea cake with it, which was moist and flavorful, the pistachio and orange blossom both coming out at the right levels. It's tough to maintain quality with such expansion, but BB does it. Good job!

Thank you for making my first matcha experience wonderful. The staff was very accommodating for my lack of knowledge surrounding matcha and adjusted the sweetness level accordingly after letting me taste test. 10/10 experience

They do things in a special way here. I had a Saffron Vanilla Latte and it was delicious and definitely special. Yummy!

Nola Shakero Coffee was so good! A little sweeter than I thought it would be but no complaints. The breakfast sandwhich which I got with hot sauce was also good. It was simple &tasty.

The cafe is chic and modern. Super clean and open feel. The coffee itself was average but got the job done. I wish I asked for an extra shot in my iced latte. It was a bit crowded in there while waiting for our order. But the staff was super friendly and helpful.

I wish there were one of these closer to me! I love this coffee! This morning got their black cardamom latte hot with oat milk and it's definitely the best cardamom type latte I've ever had in my life. The absolutely most perfect amount of flavoring. I drink a lot of lattes and half of them I really can't tell what they are - featured flavors get drowned out so easily by espresso. Not this one! It's just perfect and if you've never tried cardamom or claim to not like it I really think you need to give this one a try. I promise - it's delicious! Got their breakfast sandwich as well - was so so so good. A little expensive for what you get but I'll gladly play the few extra bucks for all the flavor! At least if I'm going to spend a lot it tastes amazing! Highly recommend this sandwich if you want something savory with your coffee. My husband got the waffle, again a little expensive for what you get but a great sweet compliment to his coffee for sure! Awesome service, very friendly staff :) great outdoor seating. Just a lovely little spot for a perfect start to your day! Will absolutely be back when I'm in town again!

Hojicha latte with oat milk is one of the tastiest drinks I've tried from here! Blue Bottle Coffee is located in the same plaza as Whole Foods. There is a free parking lot and you can also find street parking on the side. The design of this store is artsy and modern. The inside doesn't have any place for you to sit but they did put a few small tables and chairs for you to sit down on. I just took my drink and got into the car while driving to see some other places. Found out about this location from Yelp and I'm glad I stopped by! They have different hot, cold beverages that I think you'll find pretty tasty. They have all these timers for certain drinks that people order and you'll just have to wait a few minutes.

Every visit here is worth the money spent. Very minimal and clean shop. Attentive and helpful staff members. Delicious drinks and pastries! Every.Time!

Blue Bottle Coffee in Malibu is a whole different vibe from all the other Blue Bottles. Because the city is such a peaceful city, you'll be able to relax and sunbathe in the weather and get a glimpse of what a daily life in Malibu looks like! This location is located near the Malibu State Lagoon Park and it is in the same plaza as Whole Foods -- it's very clean and well-maintained just like your typical Malibu vibe. I ordered my usual sweet latte and it was absolutely amazing. They don't have indoor seating and that was not problematic at all because you'll want to sit outside. Lucky for us, there's two sides of outdoor seating so you can face the side where the sun is up, or you can also sit in the shaded area. They also have Tesla Superchargers so you can recharge your car here and recharge yourself! Blue Bottle is perfect in this city and if you're driving by the Pacific Coast Highway and need a pick-me-up, stop by this place for sure!

We needed some caffeine on our way to a wedding and luckily found this coffee place. Small shop but big flavors Fast service and friendly staff I ordered various drinks but couldn't remember what my drink was called, but it was a refreshing mix of coffee and sparkling soda. The Almond croissant was so flaky and buttery And the chocolate chip cookie just melted in your mouth

I always enjoy Blue Bottle! This one's a nice location in Malibu, just off of the PCH and near the Malibu farmers market on Sundays. Parking lot is shared with Whole Foods and other restaurants. It's close to but technically not a part of the Malibu Country Mart, which is kind of nice in my opinion because it doesn't get as crazy busy in this parking lot based on my experience. Sometimes there's a line, sometimes there isn't. Ordering and pickup at the entrance during COVID. The trick to getting out quickly is ordering the New Orleans iced coffee. It's premixed so it's ready immediately!

Beautiful location . I've been a fan of a Blue Bottle since San Francisco and I appreciate their consistent high quality - BUT on my recent visit I ordered 2 coffees (1 black and 1 with room) and they coffee with room was only 3/4 full. I just think if I'm paying $5 or $6 for a cup of black coffee , the cup should at least be full .

Blue Bottle Coffee recently opened on Civic Center Dr off Cross Creek in Malibu. It's a welcomed addition to the area. Free parking in the surrounding lot. My first Blue Bottle cup of coffee was in DTLA next to the famous and iconic Bradbury Building which was seen in many films ie Bladerunner. That New Orleans coffee was hot, good, a tad bitter. Later ordered the iced version and liked it more. Subsequently have had BB coffee mostly in Beverly Hills and Century City and usually order an iced New Orleans with oat milk to mitigate any bitterness. This shop in Malibu is fantastic. With competitor Starbucks on the other side of the lot, which is often busy, crowded and messy...and TBH I'm not a big fan of Starbucks, the coffee quality had diminished and the staff's negative attitude, with negative racial profiling reported in the news is just a Pass for me and a big No! Have always had a pleasant experience at all Blue Bottle including here in Malibu. Currently, with covid, the interior and exterior area for seating remain close. Staff wore face masks and gloves, social distancing practiced and hand sanitizers available. Cool Blue bottle merchandise on display and some baked goods available. You order outside with contactless payment and your name is called when your drink is ready for pick up. I ordered my favorite, an iced 3 espresso shot New Orleans with oat milk and it was really Jolty Good :) The fresh Malibu breeze and a sip of this drink was an awakening jolt :) Most Definitely Recommend!

I'm a big Blue Bottle fan and have been four years but this location consistently does not make good drinks. They usually over-steam the milk. Nice staff though and love the waffle. Bonus points for the playground nearby.

Blue Bottle delivers again. So glad Blue Bottle is a part of this newly-built center behind Malibu Country Mart - we get an alternative to Starbucks. There was practically no line to order - but since online ordering is a thing now, there very quickly became a line to pick up your ordered drinks. Drip and espresso coffees are offered as well as tea. Free parking at the lot.

This place gets busy!! Thankfully for me, the line went pretty quickly and I got my order right away. They have a large-ish stand with a menu so you can look at it while in line. They're cashless so make sure you bring your credit card. There's also an option to order ahead online if you want to just pick up your drink and go. The employees were very nice and happy to talk to the customers! The woman who served me was able to give me my New Orleans cold brew right away and it was great. Never forget to ask for the free oat milk!

It hurts me to write this. The consistency of how the Malibu cafe pulls their espresso shots is very sporadic. Hayes Valley is chocolatey, marshmallowy, creamy goodness. Blue Bottle NAILED it with this coffee. But, they way this cafe brews it is very inconsistent. 1:1 ratio, 201.5 temp, 32 second extraction, voila. If after 32 seconds the yield isn't 1:1, the grind is off. Too bitter? Too hot. Sour? Too cold. And make sure it's not too soon off roast. I know this sounds snobby. But BB once was the place to go to get a perfect shot of espresso. That's a phenomenal reputation to have. This should be NAILED and 100% consistent. However, it's always off, and likely due to one of the variables not being dialed in.

Came here on a Sunday morning for a quick breakfast and drink. However, our stop at Blue Bottle was anything but quick. We ordered coffee, hot green tea, avocado toast, pumpkin pound cake, rosemary cornmeal scone, and the butternut squash galette via the Blue Bottle app. There was a huge backlog of orders and people waiting for their drinks and food. It seemed the staff were getting overwhelmed with both the in person orders as well as the app orders. When we finally got our food and drinks after a long wait, I found my tea was just lukewarm rather than piping hot. The food was just okay. Met my expectations for Blue Bottle, but wouldn't be my first choice for quick breakfast in the future especially given the wait time and the price.

Oh how it would of been so great if this Blue Bottle Coffee location in Malibu would of existed when I was in College! Such great coffee and the cold brew is so strong that it gets me wired and awake! The complete plexi glass through out the counter is a little too much however. Their employees already wear face masks to protect themselves and others. Since the plexi glass is tall and obnoxious, it gives off unwelcoming vibes. There's no seating inside and probably never will be post COVID because it is a small shop. There are about 5 small tables and chairs outside though.

Such amazing service and the matcha latte was to die for!!! They hosted the beachside moto crew and handled a mass of motorcyclists with ease. Can't recommend this place enough!

I love Blue Bottle coffee, but I'm a creature of habit and always stick to what I know is consistently good. This time I wanted to change it up and try a winter drink, so I orders the winter date latte, oh and I usually want hot drinks specially caffeinated drink. I got the cold one, since I wasn't sure I asked the guy is it better cold or warm? He said cold. I tell you, if I stuck to my usual I would have been a happy camper. I am not very impressed with the winter date latte. It's bland, not a taste of date and just oat milk and cold brew! Sadly I can't put my stamp of approval on this drink.

The baristas here are so nice! I've visited a couple times now and they genuinely care about finding you a drink you're happy with. I love their seasonal additions to the menu, but my go to is their matcha. It's perfectly earthy and flavorful. Their waffle is a must- whether I'm hungry or not. It's soooo good. I love this place and there's plenty of seating outside to enjoy your treats.

Blue Bottle has always been my favorite go to especially when I'm on the road. I recently moved to Ventura and I love that I can drive 45 minutes and enjoy the view of the ocean and Malibu and be able to stop off at this beautiful location for a wonderful cup of espresso, lattes or cappuccin's. They know how to brew the best coffee, and they know how to whip the perfect foam even with oat milk!I i also use the app if I'm in a hurry, but it is a nice place to hang around and people watch while enjoying a cuppa coffee, made the blue bottle away, and their wonderful waffle snack

Interesting menu My son and i had the sweet latte which was quite good and not overly sweet. Will definitely have this again. Also want to try the New Orleans-style coffees. Friendly service. Nice outdoor seating Will be back

Everything about this Blue Bottle is my favorite. I love how clean everything is. And I always get the Nola. I've never had a poor experience here and the baristas are always so friendly.

Ordered a decaf almond milk latte extra hot and it's barely warm. At minimum, steam the milk low and slow and bring it to 155 degrees. In this case higher. This isn't rocket science. Thank God. NASA wouldn't exist under this watch. Although at 7 bucks a pop, it's on par with government budgets, but I digress...

Blue bottle, boutique chain started in San Francisco, has above average coffee in my opinion, but doesn't quite hit 'five' stars for me. A lot of it comes down to personal taste and their coffee is a little on an acidic side for me - which by the way many people might like. I typically get a cold brew here, even though I am a huge espresso fan Blue Bottle espresso are best in drinks for my taste. Tip: This place in Malibu will get a line during morning hours, especially Sunday during a weekly cars and coffee event. Do not expect plastic cups here - all their drinks will come in paper cups and will be served without straws.

I cannot wait to come back here. This is a very clean and modern coffee shop that's tucked away, just off of PCH. I wasn't sure what to get and the barista was happy to help. He was very informative, nice, and patient. I ended up ordering the cardamom latte with oat milk and an almond croissant. The latte was incredibly delicious. I typically order hazelnut or lavender whenever I get coffee, but the cardamom... I need more of this in my life. I highly recommend trying this while it's available, as it is a seasonal coffee. The almond croissant was quite large and tasty as well, with a touch of sweetness in the middle. Unfortunately, I got there after their kitchen was closed, so they were unable to warm it up, but, it was still good. Masks are required to enter. There is only outdoor seating available, which is quite nice because the seating area has a lot of open space. There are plenty of dairy alternatives available for my lactose intolerant friends.

The coffee and tea were delicious. The cold brew was nicely filtered and flavorful. Slight acidity but that was fine. My partner got the hojicha (I think it was this one?) tea with soy milk. I overall enjoyed it but she thought it had too much milk in it. The staff was also very nice and welcoming. They allowed us to sample the cold brew before committing so that was nice.

GO AT YOUR OWN RISK!! Been a regular customer since they opened in malibu and after I got in my car drinking my coffee I felt something in my mouth. IT WAS A BABY COCKROACH!!! I reported it according but go at your own risk. Since it was a baby I'm assuming there's a mom and many more babies... see attached photos

Ok I am a sucker I officially love this place. Never understood the hype and have orders here a few times (cold brew and I don't like their actually) but I am addicted to their latte now. I love their oat milk and the vegan almond cake is SO GOOD! I also am obsessed with their almond butter and jelly toast- convinced it's the best thing they do haha! So simple yet delicious. I honeslty don't like their cold brew and I can't figure out why but I know I'm general people Love it. The outdoor seating here is lovely also. I order on the mobile app a lot and they are just as fast as Starbucks it's great they have it down

Blue Bottle service, store, food, and coffee is all absolutely incredible. The line was slightly long, but I guess that is expected for a popular store like this. The staff were super polite and friendly, and it was an incredible in-store experience. The interior is clean and well organized and aesthetically pleasing as well. They also sell merchandise like cups and even books which is quite unique. Now, let's talk about the food. The coffee was absolutely INCREDIBLE. 100 stars, and coming from a coffee addict like me, that says a lot. It was not bitter at all, and had a smooth, silky taste to it. The free oat milk was great as well. The avocado toast was so good as well. The bread was crunchy but also fluffy and the avocado was well seasoned, maybe lacking a little salt. Please visit this Blue Bottle if you can. If they ever opened one in my area, I would freak out. Would absolutely spend my money on this coffee every day!

My first time trying Blue Bottle Coffee after hearing all the hype about it. I went to the location in Malibu near the Malibu Country Mart. I asked the worker what she recommended. She asked me if I'm interested in trying a light or heavy coffee. I'm not much of a caffeine person so I said light. She suggested this specific light iced coffee with sweetener but I forgot the name of the coffee. You order at the door and then pick up on the other side of the coffee shop. I got a small size and it was $5. They made the coffee fast, but I thought it was weird that they put iced coffee in a hot latte cup. When I took a sip, it wasn't anything special. The coffee was smooth and light but tasted like something I could have made at home. There was quite a lot of ice in my little cup of coffee. I was not that impressed and it was overpriced. I might try a different location and another coffee next time, but hesitant to go back because I was not that amazed with my first experience.

Cappuccino tasted good, but not worth the price. The wait was long too, probably due to online orders.
