"Like most locations of this Oakland-based coffee chain, the interior of the one in Park Slope looks like some sort of Scandinavian furniture showroom without the furniture. Unlike most of the others in NYC, though, this one has a nice outdoor space with seats in an enclosed little parklet on the corner of 3rd Street a couple blocks from Prospect Park." - matt tervooren

Came to blue bottle on my way to prospect park. They have a good ambience with some seating, AC was on which was a relief during the hot summer day. They have a water dispenser as well. People were sitting and chatting, some were reading books. They don’t have a lot of food options, especially savory ones. They had a yogurt which I really liked.

Google
Good service with great coffee per usual. The cold brew was disappointing but that’s because their specialties are mixed coffee drinks like the New Orleans style. The pastries are very expensive but almost worth it. This location has a cute outdoor patio area for hanging out in the shade. Great neighborhood to explore.

The barista on a Saturday afternoon was so nice. My (very old) dad isn’t used to hipster coffee shops and she made it a point to be very patient with him and explain the different types of coffee they had. She even poured the milk just right for him. My wife and I loved our latte and cortado, and my dad his pour over. I’ll be back in a heartbeat.

Google
Baristas here are always friendly and pretty fast even in the “rush hours”. I love the fact that it’s oat milk as the default milk, and that they have doggy treats in a little jar by the window. Very cute location with a sweetgreen outpost and outdoor garden area seating. Unsure of the wifi situation, but seems like they would be happy to provide password if needed. Coffee is always great!

Google
Just when I think Blue Bottle Mocha’s couldn’t get any better because I’ve had them all, I taste one that’s superior 😍 There are certain Blue Bottle Baristas who just make better coffee than the others and this was quiet delicious. I went back the next day and it was as exceptional! Great Blue Bottle

Google
Great drip coffee. They also have great vegan and gluten free pastries. It's a bit pricey but very good.

Sonia Etelis

Google
Very potent coffee, so any coffee lover would like this. Desert was great too and had a hint of rose. I am excited to come back to try other types of coffee!! The Oji is the iced coffee I tried and looking forward to trying a macchiato next time.

Google
They have a surge of new staffs and my latte milk was lukewarm when served to me and now it’s cold half way through the cup. I think they frothed my milk in a large batch enough for two - three orders. I unfortunately got the end of the froth. (The other oat milk cappuccino I ordered was fine) I hope these new guys get better at coordinating and timing.

Yelp
Came here and got the hot New Orleans coffee, 16 oz. Didn't know there was New Orleans coffee. Ordered and paid, then got the coffee pretty quickly. Milk and coffee were mixed together before getting poured into the cup, so it's not like a latte where coffee is poured then milk. Coffee is extremely expensive at about $7 post-tax. Coffee is flavorful, has an extra flavor compared to other coffees. Not worth the price tag though. Clean and new-looking coffee shop, could be a good spot to work and hang out.

Yelp
Excellent staff who are friendly. Great drink and food options. Ordered a matcha latte this time around and enjoyed it. For those who want to add sugar to their drinks there is a simple syrup bottle where the lids, spoons, and napkins are.

Sharon W.

Yelp
I got the matcha latte. I like when they do a little latte art. The place is not huge but it's comfortable sitting . I was sitting in the back and I see people on their laptops working but it's not too loud overall. They have a bathroom and it was nice and clean and big compared to some other coffee shops.

Yelp
This may be my first time having Blue Bottle coffee. Its a chain, so I'm sure it depends on who's operating to tell if you'll enjoy or not. Went in the am with no crowd. My selection was a cold brew with almond milk. I even added half a shot of simple syrup which was self serve. Now, it could be this combo I created, but the cold brew was not giving me joy. Its hard to mess up a coffee with minimal ingredients. It could be better without any milk or sweetener.

Katrina R.

Yelp
Chocolate caramel sea salt cookie delicioussss. Lovely place to sit during the summer

Yelp
Blue bottle coffee really has and outstanding outstanding stock of coffee. It's been a few years since I indulged in this brand of coffee I had Belle Donovan coffee which had a bold flavor and smell so fresh and amazing yes I went to heaven but did not die lol. The store at this location in small and clean with great service. All COVID 19 regulations were still in effect with people wearing masks and social distancing being Implemented thank you so much

Joshua P.

Yelp
I just love this freaking spot. Almost all the staff are great at what they do, and care about it. It shows in their knowledge of their products, the coffee they have on offer, and the recommendations they make - whether you're getting a latte or a sandwich. I just wish the place was bigger but that's obviously a different type of problem, and not one within the control of the personnel here. Nevertheless, they've turned it into a lovely outpost of the Blue Bottle brand. The outdoor seating is especially nice during fairer weather.

Lynne T.

Yelp
I didn't hugely care for the coffee, but the croissant was great. The dining area is airy and pleasant and the staff went above and beyond in terms of being helpful.

Yelp
I have loved Blue Bottle Coffee ever since I had it for the first time in Manhattan. I decided to try one of their seasonal coffees, the Holiday blend. The barista at the register was super helpful in helping me choose it based on my flavor preferences - low acidity, light body but still fragrant. The barista starting the drip for my coffee made it clear not to get his face in the video. Oops. I forgot I need to get permission sometimes, even if it's just for Yelp. I asked for some milk from behind the counter. I'm not sure what exactly gave the coffee the sour flavor that it did. Either the milk or the coffee was just so hard to drink. I wasn't sure if maybe my tastebuds were just all wrong or what. I highly recommend sipping your coffee first before adding the milk to be sure next time. I'm not sure what happened there. I'm sure it was a one time fluke. It won't stop me from coming back but maybe I'll stick to their lattes from now on.

Hong L.

Yelp
Probably the best nice cup of coffee in the neighborhood. Always brew a good cup of coffee, but it is a bummer that they are now owned by Nestle. Their coffee is quite pricey, and the spot always has a smell of panini. Slightly faster service would be a benefit given the never-ending line, but this still is probably the best coffee shop in prime Park slope.

Jacob P.

Yelp
Anything less than 5 stars for Blue Bottle means you are not a coffee person. - yes the wait can tend to be long because they are making each order then and there (pour over) - Staff is friendly - Expensive ($3-$5 per cup) - Different blends of Coffee that are all amazing in taste. ** FORGET STARBUCKS AND DUNKIN DONUTS. This is an official coffee house

Rita H.

Yelp
Good place to sit, sip a latte and people/ dog watch in Brooklyn. Quick service and creamy lattes. Outside seating area still covered (on the ground) with snow, but possible to sit and sip your coffee and enjoy the Park Slope local atmosphere.

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
Expensive coffee, no chai lattes, no self serve sugar, & no stirring materials. Asked for sugar and got a blank stare. They did end up giving me sugar but not enough for both of my coffees. One of us went without sugar. My cappuccino was delicious. The ice coffee was lackluster.

Andrew S.

Yelp
Stopped in earlier today, well yesterday seeing that it's now midnight as I write this review. This is the second Blue Bottle I have been in. And the third time I have tried their coffee. The first time, I bought a pouch as a take home to brew. I tried the cold brew from the can and it has a off set bitterness sort of a pungent note to it. That is without sugar or milk. I then added liquid sugar they have and some milk. And it tasted smoother but with less of a coffee note. I prefer it black. It is not as bold as Starbucks Pike Place brewed coffee. I kind of like it but not something I would drink on a daily basis. Today they were also offering a new tonic coffee with Q Tonic Water. The cost for it $4. It was not too bad. Think coffee meets bubbly with foam, add milk is optional. There mini chocolate cupcakes are good but could use a stronger cocoa flavoring. The chocolate chip cookies were better, many chocolate chips in the cookie. They also serve yogurt and a sandwich. Besides espresso, latte, coffee, they also sell coffee accessories such as filters, bottles, books and brewers. I can only say the appearance of the first Blue Bottle location and this one has some serious looking Baristas doing their craft. There's quite a few of them doing their thing behind the counter. Seating is limited to a handful but there's a good enough room to stand. Or move it to the outside/patio like area. No WiFi. One bathroom without a code. Free Tap Water (not very cold). Not many milk options at the condiment stand. I guess you have to ask for it.

Dvora H.

Yelp
I'm scared to go in here...the baristas are very mean. Today was my first time picking up a mobile order and I was met with, "IF YOU'RE HERE FOR A PICK UP, FOLLOW THE WHITE LINE!" as soon as I walked in, because I was looking around and turned my head to ask a question. They are also strict with their capacity policy (rightfully so), but they literally always yell at you to get out. The New Orleans iced coffee is delicious, though, so we'll keep spending $95 on a large, obviously.

Joe J.

Yelp
Decent amount of space in this place to sit and work for awhile. It isn't as cramped as a few of the other Blue Bottles I've been to, and the setup of the place is kind of like walking into an enormous, fully renovated kitchen that was just transformed into a coffee shop. The space behind the counter is fully visible, and in the back there are (what look like) fully kitchen cabinets, so it has a kind of sleek, polished home-y feel to it. And of course, the coffee--though overpriced--is very good. No wifi, which is kind of annoying. Almond croissants are decent, not great. The coffee is the selling point. They also didn't mind the person sitting next to me busting out his own tub of yogurt and granola + banana and using their silverware to eat it. Oh and, maybe most importantly, non-use-restrictive, clean bathrooms : )

Valentina M.

Yelp
I usually go to the location in Hudson Yards and I think I'll stick with it. Pretentious and rude staff who made me a cold, watery, matcha latte and then refused to heat it up.

Ekim T.

Yelp
I'm not Yelping Blue Bottle because I don't like their coffee. I don't happen to like their coffee, but that comes down to a matter of taste. And I'm not Yelping because of the price. It would be unfair to target Blue Bottle alone on that one either. They're expensive, but there are plenty of coffee bars at that price point for what I get in return. I'm Yelping because they were unneighborly to me. I'd been to Blue Bottle a couple times in the past, so I guess I'm technically a customer. That being said, let's assume I am a complete stranger to them. They're not very nice. This particular barista, at least, wasn't. When someone comes into your empty coffee bar, wearing a mask, at 8:00 am and politely asks to sit in your empty garden for a few minutes, just as I did on August 4th, you say, "Yes." You don't say, "The garden is for customers only," which she said of their empty garden this particular morning. Wrong answer! I'm a local and I was commuting from the bus stop just outside the front door of Blue Bottle at the corner of 3rd St. and 7th Ave. And when I asked to sit down in the garden it wasn't to stir up some trouble. I actually needed to sit down. Blue Bottle needs to up its game at being good neighbors. We all do in these times. These are the times when I wear a mask so *you* can vote on November 3rd. These are the times when what a stranger needs is as important as what anyone needs. So when someone asks for a seat, and you, yourself aren't actually using it or need it at the moment, the answer is always an unequivocal yes.

Christina Z.

Yelp
Very, very expensive for what you get. Over $10 for a small cappuccino and a piece of pumpkin break. They do have a variety of alternative milks and pumpkin, choc. chip bread was delicious.

Alex M.

Yelp
This is just another generic coffee spot. The coffee and tea taste bland but at-least the employees are nice

Rob W.

Yelp
Having a Blue Bottle within reasonable walking distance is a bit of a dream come true. The coffee quality (excellent) and prices (high) are typical of BB. The space on the other hand is atypical of the Blue Bottles I know in that there is ample seating - indoor and outdoor. In fact, there seems to be wasted space behind the register given their limited food menu, but what do I know about interior design? At any rate, I've always thought of Blue Bottle as high quality grab-and-go, but this is a very nice place to sit and meet/chat/read. Or write a Yelp review, should the urge strike you...

Jessica D.

Yelp
Skip Starbucks and come here! I really needed my phone to be charged and they were so kind to help me. Although they said I didn't need to purchase something, I did anyways! And I don't regret it, because their latte was delicious albeit being quiet expensive ($5) and then an extra $1 for almond milk. The coffee itself was smooth and a little frothy. I love the atmosphere in here, the space feels so open and clean. This would probably be a great place to study or to focus or work! There's also outside seatings for those lovely summer days.

Ree C.

Yelp
I went in there last Sunday! The baristas were so friendly and my iced americano was delicious! So glad to see Blue Bottle in my neighborhood!

Erik T.

Yelp
Great Coffee, Great sandwiches, fresh croissants, fast and convenient. Staff is always friendly.

Christine M.

Yelp
Two thumbs up! Delicious coffee in a bright and airy space. I couldn't wait to tell my coffee connoisseur roommate that a Blue Bottle Coffee opened up down the street. She declared it "the best thing I've heard," because "there's literally no good coffee places around here," and, a few minutes later after the subject had changed, "I'm still so excited about Blue Bottle!" There are about five two-tops, a few seats at a counter looking out the front window, a couple of high chairs for kids, and its roomy enough to fit strollers next to tables and not feel like you're starting a traffic jam. I spy one outlet near a back table for charging devices. It's well lit so looks to be a good place to get work done. Hours posted on the window as 7am-7pm daily.

Syl S.

Yelp
The low rating is due to the poor service at Blue Bottle. I walked in on a Sunday morning, no one was on line. The cashier looked me dead in the eyes and just stared. No "hello", no smile, nothing. I ordered a de-cafe iced coffee but they don't have that. He said they can do de-caf americano iced so that's what i got. I paid and there was no "thank you". It was my 1st Americano and I didn't really like it. Not sure if it's their coffee or just that I don't like Americano but it tasted like water. With the stiff competition in the area, it might serve them well to be friendlier and appreciative of the business. I've worked in retail and restaurants and at a minimum a "hello" with a smile and "thank you" is expected. Even if the coffee is great, I won't go back because the service sucks. Back to Cafe Grumpy (who's staff isn't as Grumpy!) Hungry Ghost and Kos! These all have great coffee and service.

Diane K.

Yelp
Blue Bottle=Blue Blood. Modern day conquistadors. Did I hear Nestle owns this chain? Nestle who doesn't believe access to water is a human right. Carefully poured spring water per individual customer, $8.50 for a coffee and croissant, white privilege with a smile. Could we be coddled a bit more, Park Slope? Coffee and customer service was fine. Come on society, we could do better than this.

Evelyn W.

Yelp
I was here 4 1/2 years ago, and man it has gone downhill! I remember it being genuine and heart full with top notch coffee. Today it was boring, worn and staff clearly not committed to first rate service and cleanliness. I asked for a towel to sit on because of all the big coffee stains on the seats, and the staff only said that it was dried out and it's been there for a long time. I still wanted a towel so I got a small one. Also the gals of water to the espresso was not clean ... coffee is ok, I would Only go here for a "to go" coffee. Much better places in the area..

Véronique T.

Yelp
So glad there is a Blue Bottle in Park Slope now!! The coffee is amazing, the wait time is not that long even when there is a line. There is a seating area inside, including high chairs for little ones and an outdoor patio. There is also a restroom for those who need to use it before leaving the coffee shop.

Heloise E.

Yelp
Nearly 5 bucks for a co-op of ya. I would expect a tape for that price AND free wifi.

Jaimito R.

Yelp
Not sure why the New York locations aren't as good as the originals in the San Francisco Bay Area. It works though. This is the first step in New York finally getting good coffee. #thewestisthecoffeecapitallookitup

Gabe C.

Yelp
My wife and I stumbled upon her favorite coffee shop on a serendipitous morning and it made her day, what could possibly be better? I live to make her happy.

Jasmin Z.

Yelp
So I had an appointment at 9 so I decided to kill time and visit blue bottle. I always wanted to come here and never had the time. I must say I love it. I love the color scheme, seating, how clean it is, the friendly staff & I must say there lemonade is great. I wasn't able to try their coffee this time but I will definitely be back. First impression means everything and they scored.

Jimmy M.

Yelp
My wife likes their espresso but I'm really not a fan of their pour over coffee. All of their roasts have a sweet/sour flavor that just doesn't feel like that nutty, earthy, chocolate flavor that coffee should have. The location is clean and nice - but also lacks the charm of some of the other local places (Kos, Café Martin).

C C.

Yelp
Snobby baristas, good coffee but poor service. Apparently, cold foam cappuccinos is "a Starbucks thing". No sweetie, La Colombe serves them too + with a MUCH nicer attitude.

MoMo D.

Yelp
The coffee is amazing every.single.time! And most of the baristas are nice. No complaints.

Charlie E.

Yelp
This Blue Bottle is perpetually filled with obnoxious people: screaming toddlers, strollers crowded two and three across, frizzy-haired stay-at-home moms who must think people across the cafe want to hear all the details of the bake sale they're planning. It's all the worst dregs of Park Slope in one place and the staff does nothing to try to manage it. The location lacks any sound dampening materials so the noise reverberates against the wood and tile interior, creating a cacophony even when its half-full. Unless you're looking forward to stepping over building blocks or want a place for the next PTA meeting, steer clear.

Mary J.

Yelp
Yay! Finally great coffee in Park Slope. If I can't have La Colombo, I will happily take Blue Bottle. I'm an americano gal and theirs is expertly pulled with nice crema. I like Blue Bottle espresso as they're dark and rich without the fruity or floral notes some other roasters have. My only gripe is their cold brew is really weak. It's better to get a double americano poured over ice. No, it's not cheap--there's plenty of cheap coffee in the area. No, it doesn't have wifi (hallelujah! Go work in your own house). And I'm always wary of bad reviews that claim snobbery as they say more about the reviewers delicate ego than the actual establishment. I've had lovely, efficient service. Update 3/11/17: I've now been here MANY times and my original review holds true. As for wifi/plugs, most newer high-end coffee shops are intentionally forgoing that amenity to discourage people from camping out and working. That's a drain on business and a different kind of 90s environment they do t want.

Michael E.

Yelp
This is my fav coffee place in Brooklyn. Really nice staff, great coffee and dog treats for Jack when we are on our way to the park

R. G.

Yelp
Just moved to PS, and was excited to find a blue bottle nearby. Don't let reviews about wifi or plug availability deter you, this place is fantastic. Unless you're turning this place into your office, just go enjoy their great coffee and delicious treats.

Kira A.

Yelp
This place takes the time to make sure their customer is happy. After a small bump in the road they reached out to me to see how I could be happy- I didn't need anything other than the fact they reached out- a 1st class business that other than penny whistle (for the Old time park slopers) is a joy to inhabit that space... oh and the coffee is amazing

Danielle S.

Yelp
I live down the block from this location and they are always busy since the day they opened. I came on a Saturday afternoon with a friend and it was packed as always. The staff were very nice and very helpful with answering our questions and making recommendations. I tried the cold brew and very much enjoyed it. It was very fresh and flavorful. I will say that there was a lot of ice in my cup and the it's only one size, that is small to begin with for the price. I would probably ask for easy ice the next time. Overall, I enjoyed my cold brew and my experience, and it's nice to know I can grab a flavorful cup of coffee right down the street.

Sharon P.

Yelp
Oh come on now. Talk about "bourgeois." All hype and attitude, and not even a good cup of coffee. I am a serious coffee drinker, grind my own fresh at home and use a Technivorm pot. I have also indulged in a $45 bag of coffee on a few occasions. So I can get with a high end coffee experience. But, this coffee isn't good. Yeah, the store gives you the feeling that you are entering a privileged little inner sanctum, lots of open space behind the counter (not for you to sit), airy white walls, light wood, bright lighting...and the baristas are not friendly or quick to help. I think one is supposed to feel honored if they deem you worthy to serve. The coffee menu seems to start with a $3.5 cup, though this isn't always offered, and includes one for $10 a pop: "it has notes of kiwi." Well, I have tried three times now, two at $3.5 and one at $4.5 (they add tax and you will spend $5 for the cup of joe). Each cup was fairly bitter, particularly acidic and bold, but not full bodied. For the less than stellar cup you will have to wait at least 10 minutes since they do pour over (of course, part of the special ambiance) and you will carry it in a thin cup, no collars to ruin the lines here. If you want to feel that special sense of privilege, this is the place for you. But within three blocks in either direction you can get better coffee, with faster and friendlier service and a smaller price tag, and oh yeah, the other guys will give you a space to sit.

Mothra S.

Yelp
Totally doesn't deserve its crappy rating average. I always beeline to a Blue Bottle when I'm in a city that has one, so perhaps I'm biased by deprivation, but the New Orleans iced was just what I needed. THRILLED they (all) now offer it with almond milk, since dairy and I are on a tragic break. This location has the added bonus of being decently sized, full of light AND had some really nice kid-friendly touches: schmancy high chairs and appropriately trendy wooden baby toy(s?). Plus the bathroom was really clean(!) and they have some nice OFF-sidewalk outdoor seating. Service was friendly and I didn't adore my cherry oat bar but did end up eating the whole thing. Lingered with a book on a Saturday midday and didn't feel rushed at all. Good on you, Blue Bottle

Megan R.

Yelp
Great coffee! Excellent brews that actually has caffeine. I love that it's locally roasted. This shop however 3/5 stars. They've been open nearly a week and "don't have wifi set up yet" .. isn't that sort of a pre-requisite for coffee shops? And while they offer ample seating, which is why I chose to come here over my regular .. regular, they don't have any accessible plugs. Perhaps they're purposely aiming away from a cozy coffee work environment? Totally fine just an FYI for all those work from homers like me. I have to update after this awful experience today. Since it's opened I've come to blue bottle 2/3 times a week for an already over priced cup of coffee, but it's good and it's park slope so I keep coming back. Came in today and asked for what I have literally ordered over 30 times, a small black coffee (running around $3.50 or something) and the barista asked if I had a preference, I've never been asked this and was caught off, and as I was half listening to a podcast pulled my ear bud out and and said "what"? The barista could only manage to mumble "single origin blend" about 7 times in a row with out conveying any information so I just said idk a lighter roast if you have it, and plugged my bud back in, I go to pay and it's $8! AN $8 cup of PLAIN BLACK COFFEE. And so I asked what the hell was going on and again, the baristas response was "it's a single origin blend" I don't know how that resolved my issue, I said it's never been this complicated or expensive, I just want my normal coffee, which at this she suddenly was able to figure out and ring up my normal $3.50 cup of coffee. I kept coming back Bc it's a few blocks closer than regular but I won't come back again. I mean go for it if you're in the mood for an $8 single origin blend.

Amy T.

Yelp
Good coffee shop! Modern, great coffee, decent prices. 4 stars for the customer service. It's a little small and gets pretty packed so that's why I don't go here often, but they have a cute back patio for the summertime as well.

Espresso K.

Yelp
Greatest service by Ryan, Ben, and the super man manager Matt to all the "complaints" I would add you need to provide a "babysitter service" for the families who wants to pay 75 cents for a cup of coffee...

Namrata A.

Yelp
Probably one of the biggest and "airy" feel location of Blue Bottle in comparison to the other two Brooklyn locations. I'm glad they are in the area and providing some delicious coffee and treats.
