Give Me a 16-Ounce Cup of Coffee, You Cowards - Eater SF

"Relevantly, Blue Bottle, which was a leader in the manual coffee boom, began selling 16-ounce coffees somewhere along the line." - Paolo Bicchieri

"There are now ten locations strong in the bay area, with cafés in the Ferry Building, Hayes Valley, Heath Ceramics, Market Square, Mint Plaza, and on Sansome. There are two locations in Oakland, on Broadway and Webster St. Perhaps the most groundbreaking of their brews is the chicory-spiked New Orleans cold brew, which comes in a handy single-serving carton. They also make a pretty great granola in-house while the SFMOMA rooftop location is home to Chef Caitlin Freeman’s modern art desserts. Think: a loaf cake made to look like a Mondrian painting and cookies inspired by Richard Serra’s sculptures. "

I had a surprise coffee for the first time and it tasted just right for my taste. The atmosphere of the store was clean and refreshing with a simple feel.

Good morning Blue Bottle 💙 To the great professional staffing. You all exceeded my expectations. I love the quality of Cafe Mocha. The gentleman that makes the coffee does an excellent job. I have no complaints about the price. Instead I wish the chair was slight comfortable. Instead I do like the benches.I love blue bottle. I haven't ordered food. I am certain it's tasteful.I will be back soon! Thank you all. 😃 Appreciate your service.

An absolute gem in the heart of San Francisco! Blue Bottle Coffee delivers a perfect blend of style, flavor, and comfort. The stunning floor-to-ceiling windows flood the space with light and offer beautiful city views—making it an ideal spot to unwind, get creative, or dive into work. The vibe is effortlessly cool, the space spacious and thoughtfully laid out. Now, let’s talk taste—every sip of their matcha latte was heavenly, and the blueberry and lemon cakes? Pure delight! The coffee is smooth, bold, and truly addictive. Plus, the staff are warm, attentive, and make you feel right at home. Whether you’re popping in for a quick pick-me-up or planning to camp out for a few hours, this place hits every mark. Can’t wait to return!

A very nice cafe. The views out of the large windows are amazing. The tables are arranged in a very convenient fashion, with plenty of space between them even when fully occupied and all of them have good views out of the windows. The matcha latte was very good and the matcha lemon cake was quite good as well.

I was told that the blue bottle chain is the OG, godfather and almighty mecha of SFO coffee. Wow, this joint did not disappoint! Flawless blend, phenomenal flavor and incredible vibes and tones, unbelievable and one of the best experiences I've had, period. I love this chain, it's truly super yummy coffee and has humble grass roots lifeblood which I can really get behind. I'd happily chug the cold brew cans all day, every day and unbelievably addicted.

Perfectly spacious and fun urban spot, great coffee, lovely blueberry cake, super friendly staff, opens early, a great and relaxed spot for a couple of hours of work on your computer

Google
Great coffee shop located in the business district of San Francisco. For me it does the best coffee of all the Blue Bottles I've tried in San Fancisco. Located in a building that has a stunning foyer area. Coffee was smooth and tasty.

Yelp
This Blue Bottle Coffee in the Financial District is undoubtedly one of my favorite coffee shops. It not only provides an excellent coffee experience, but also creates an environment that is perfect for reading and relaxing. Although it can be a bit busy during peak hours, which may cause you to wait for a while for your coffee, it does not affect my overall experience. Using their app to order coffee can greatly improve efficiency, especially when time is tight. This shop is known for its seasonal drinks and selected espresso, and I especially love their high-quality matcha provided in collaboration with Stonemill Matcha. Whether it is strong coffee or refreshing matcha, it can meet my high standards and taste for drinks. Although the seating in the store is limited, it is precisely because of its extremely high popularity that it is more unique. This is one of the few cafes that provides wifi, which is perfect for me to work or read here. Every time I visit, I can enjoy the quiet and focused atmosphere, which allows me to find a quiet space in the busy workday. In addition, the restrooms in the building where the coffee shop is located are very clean, and the attention to detail also makes me appreciate the service of this shop even more. Overall, this Blue Bottle Coffee is not just a place to drink coffee. Its service, environment and quality make it a rare treasure in this city.

Yelp
The lady with the glasses working the till today tried charging me $12 dollars for an Americano! I told her she was being ridiculous as yesterday at this same location I paid $7. I understand the coffee is high quality but $12 for an Americano is a rip off no matter how you put it. Do better!

Yelp
I'm always on the lookout for great hot chocolate around FiDi since coffee isn't my thing, and Blue Bottle delivered! I decided to give it a try with a gift card I received, and it was a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in. I was warmly greeted, and the staff were friendly, professional, and super helpful. My hot chocolate came out quickly, just as I ordered--extra hot--and it was absolutely delicious. Creamy, chocolatey, and perfectly balanced, it hit all the right notes. The place was buzzing, which seems to be the norm, but the vibe was great, and there were plenty of seating options if you time it right. For FiDi workers or anyone passing through, this spot is definitely worth a visit--even for us non-coffee drinkers! Overall, a great experience. Would definitely stop by again!

Yelp
Something has to change. Two stars for a staff who is trying to make it work, but it wasn't working at 8:30 on a Wednesday. 15-20 minute wait for an espresso. Some mobile orders compete - but not too many. Nobody really orders the over priced mediocre food. I waited twenty minutes for a bland coffee that had quite a few ground in bottom. Likely too chaotic for the staff to be able to keep the espresso machine dialed in. My advice, batch brew or cold brew because it's ready without a wait and likely better. Busy. But you can usually find a seat. There star 2.

Yelp
Iced Nola is like a classic coffee drink with milk. Good strong coffee taste. Nola cold foam is the same coffee as the iced Nola, but topped with vanilla sweet cream. I would recommend this if you like something sweet. The cashier was very nice.

Yelp
This location is 1/3 that I frequent as this one of the three that are close to the office. (This location is the closest) timing for this location has always been off. If you order at a specific time it won't be ready for another 15 min or and if you anticipate a longer wait what what's noted on the app and come in a bit later they throw your drink out. The other locations have no issues with timing and they're nice. This location is the busiest out of the three so I understand they would rather take drinks out but a simple good morning would really help the energy.

Yelp
I don't always come to this Blue Bottle because it's in FiDi and it's a bit out of the way nowadays. I do think this is probably one of the nicest looking Blue Bottle locations. The one in Pac Heights is also lovely, but I digress. I usually get the Americano and they do a good one. Service is pretty good here and when I do come in, I like to get a drink and sit by the window and stare outside for a bit. Now that FiDi is kinda a ghost town, it's not as good fun people watching, but I still enjoy it now and then.

Yelp
Was very much looking forward to a blue bottle coffee, only to get here and see that it's closed. Thinking I had plenty of time since it's only 4:15pm and the their official website/app and Google map shows they're open till 5pm. ... and here's the kicker, this was NOT a one off, I found out they've been closing early for the past few weeks! Poor service and wasted my time! Very disappointed!

Yelp
Went here as I have many times before. Ordered a coffee, paid, skipped the tip. Nothing during the course of ordering did I feel warranted a tip. Guess who spent the next 20 minutes waiting for my drink. Eventually I go up to ask, and it had been sitting there on the counter, off to the side, no name called, becoming room temperature. Tipping culture has gotten out of control. Especially when they neglect their job duties in a passive aggressive way if you don't tip on a 20 second interaction.

Yelp
One of the nicest blue bottles in SF. It is spacious, well decorated and has friendly staff Drinks are always great and the place is clean Very welcoming coffee shop

Yelp
Just got the worst mocha ever at this Blue Bottle. As you can see from my previous review, BB normally has a great mocha, but apparently they changed their recipe and/or procedure. The mocha I got today was so bland that it was hardly drinkable. They also used oat milk despite my paying $1 extra for almond. As I got to the last few gross sips of my mocha, I realized why it was so bland - they didn't mix it at all. All of the chocolate was clumped on the bottom of the cup (see photo). I showed my coworker and he said I should go back and get a refund - this small was $9! I told him I didn't feel like dealing with that drama and he said "then I will go do it for you! That's unbelievable!" I still didn't let him, but I'm definitely never going there again.

Yelp
Excellent coffee! Blue Bottle does not disappoint. Pricey for everyday drinking, but so worth the occasional indulgence. I usually go to Blue Bottle at the ferry building, so this was my first visit to this location. I ordered a latte and a ham & cheese breakfast sandwich. The sandwich was $9.50 (lol) but dang, it was good! It did not disappoint. I sat in the cafe to do work on my laptop and stayed for about an hour and a half. I would definitely go there again.

Carlos R.

Yelp
One star because I went in today around 9am and they usually tell you that it takes 5 minutes to make your food. Mind you I ordered only a waffle and unfortunately I was on my 15 minute break. So I ended up not getting the waffle, had to leave l, and now I have to go back for a refund.

Yelp
Staying at Four Seasons, they recommend blue bottle coffee. Walked the 2 blocks and was met with a "morning, let me help you decided on what you need". Ordered cappuccino and cold brew with a chocolate croissant and pull apart croissant ( an everything bagel in disguise). Outstanding coffee, flavorful, not bitter or burnt tasting. Pastries were excellent, pull apart croissant was a light version of an everything bagel. We'll be here 4 more days and I'll trek down there each morning for coffee and pastries.

Yelp
A nice location and good coffee/food, but do expect to wait up to 30 minutes after you've placed your order for a basic latte. The wait is a little absurd. If you do choose to order from this location,, I recommend using the app to put your order in about 20 minutes before your arrive. Otherwise, the walk over to the second street location will probably save you time. Philz around the corner on market is also a lot faster.

Yelp
Blue bottle coffee is always a nice, quaint place to chat or go on a date. They didn't have a vanilla latte which was a little disappointing. However, the regular latte was great! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Used to love this place because I love blue bottle flavor and this location is in a great building. But the last three times I've been there (approx 3 mos apart each time), it's been a joke and major let down. I guess this happens when things go corporate. The customer service no longer exists. If greeted at all, it's often by an unpleasant young adult who is more than unenthused to be there. One time the place was filled with garbage all over the floor. Another time it took almost a half hour to get my drink when the line wasn't even that long. The last time is the nail on the coffin. I patiently waited for my drink ( they are never quick here) and realized I was the last person waiting but no one was making anything and they were just standing around bored and slowly chipping away at cleaning crumbs off the equipment. I said um excuse me did you forget my coffee. A smug young man turned around saw an unfinished drink sitting there, put in a sly smile, finished making it and handed it to me. No thank you or sorry. I asked how long it was there and he said at least three minutes which should be perfect. That's the end of that place. Still mad at myself I left a dollar tip for a five dollar coffee and need to remember to reserve a tip for after the service. He seemed to enjoy my irritated expression. Passive aggressive prick.. I need to search for a better coffee place when I go downtown, preferably local and with pleasant service.

Yelp
Met up with a lady friend for coffee before work and loved this place. I do like Blue Bottle in general but find it's locations often out of the way or are too small and without seating. This Blue Bottle cafe is great because it's right by Bart and is located in a very nice classic building's lob by-ish area. Good for meetings or people watching. As with most cafes in San Fran, expect to pry with your money for a small drink though.

Yelp
Summary: Blue Bottle went from the best coffee in San Francisco to consistently bad. Review: That's it. As much as it pains me, I am done with Blue Bottle after going back over and over hoping it was just a rough patch after the pandemic and acquisition by Nestle. I used to be one of the many queued-up for an hour on Sunday at Mint Plaza just for a coffee. After the acquisition, the persnickety attention to detail which made the coffee second to none was supplanted with chain style indifference. Like I said: I was hoping it would change but today proved the brand is dead. I asked why whole milk is extra now and Mr. Wokie-Woke barista informed me with barely disguised contempt that: "It's to improve the companies carbon footprint." Seeing my surprise Mr. Wokie-Woke barista informed me with oozing disdain that: "It's ALL on the company's website....IF you are interested (insert eye roll and full body sigh here." I kid you not. Nestlé is consistently named one of the worst polluters of plastic and this little turd is giving me grief for ordering what amounts to a trillionth of a fraction of a percent of a product which has debatable environmental impact....AND charging extra for what should have zero controversy: real food. Good luck Blue Bottle. Equator is KILLING IT for $4.50 and the attention to detail puts BB to shame. Final straw: the coffee was bitter and had an unpleasant after taste. It was great ten years ago but not now. Honestly: zero stars. RIP blue bottle.

Yelp
Great coffee + amazing waffle ! I tried the winter latte and it was great! I mean it's blue bottle coffee of course. It's located on a pretty busy street so you should expect lines forming out the door in the morning. The line does move pretty fast and efficiently though.

Yelp
A great spot for coffee. Servers are friendly. There was normally a long line, but it was cleared quickly.

Yelp
Quick Summary: - Located inside a beautiful interior - Mostly seen with a long line - Wait time is around 15-20 minutes to the cashier, and then 5 or so minutes as you wait for the order - This branch as the mobile app ordering - Extremely sour coffee, if ordered a House Blend (ordered dark) - Coffee tastes best with speciality drinks I'll most rate for the interior architecture and the staff, for I assume the taste will be the same for all branches. At first I avoided Blue Bottle Coffee for years because of my first extremely sour experience with a House blend coffee. No sugar or cream could mask the acid sourness that made me scowl after every sip. Drinking it after the coffee cooled heightened the sourness to a tenfold and it was almost undrinkable. Then, a few months ago, after a firm persuasion by a colleague who loves Blue Bottle, I gave it another try; however, I opted for a cafe latte. This was a whole new experience and a new realization for me: Blue Bottle coffee tastes better with milk. So far, I have only drank two cafe lattes, and it's also only when the said colleague invites me for coffee, but the two latte drinks are delicious. I love the interior of this building, and it helps push time as I waited in line. The crown molding and the ceiling is covered in intricate designs. In the morning, the cafe is filled with customers.

Yelp
BEST BLUE BOTTLE IN ALL OF SF! I IMHO overall great staff super friendly !! Open on a weekends, located in the financial district. Baristas are the best!

Yelp
Great spot in FiDi, if you are looking for a meeting place for a 2/3 person group or if you want to grab a cup of strong, hot, cappuccino. I particularly like this Blue Bottle because of its seating options, high ceiling and bright interior.
google avatar

Arvid Y.

Yelp
Good coffee and friendly service. I'm new to this coffee chain, but I'm a fan now. From the packaging, to the store layout, everything was simple and visually pleasing. This store in the financial district was also particularly stunning from the inside and outside.
google avatar

Liza A.

Yelp
Clean, friendly service, great coffee and love their Chia prepared cups. Acoustics make it for a very loud environment when busy, have noise cancellation ear buds if you plan to work there
google avatar

Sharon H.

Yelp
Great ambience and friendly baristas didn't quite make up for the long line to order followed by even longer wait for a simple cup of hot chocolate. While my coffee drinking friends raved about their cafe latte with soy, I found my drink more lukewarm than hot and oddly bitter rather than sweet. This is a popular location and great for people watching. Breakfast menu selections limited to pastries and oatmeal. As I was about to toss the cup, a homeless guy outside the store asked for the remaining dregs which I quickly relinquished.

Yelp
What a disappointment, we have been to other locations and were looking for a coffee shop to hang out and work a bit before a meeting. Long line (was expected), very expensive for a small cup of iced latte. "There is NO outlets in the entire coffee shop!!" "There is NO wifi connection to work on your laptop!!" So don't go there to do any work only if you love to pay for an expensive cup of coffee!!
google avatar

Yelp
If I were simply reviewing Blue Bottle's coffee, I would comfortably give it 5 stars. In fact, I would be disappointed that I couldn't give it more. The New Orleans Cold Brew and their oat milk lattes are some of the best coffee in the Bay. I am also a huge fan of just about all of their pour overs, and even will grab a mocha from time to time. Nothing here has come even remotely close to disappointing me. There are two things that prevent me from giving it the perfect score, though. One of those things is the fact that the wait for coffee here is ALWAYS long. I came in at 6am one day, and it tool 6 minutes to get a latte. Granted, it was because they were doing training, but my goodness there were 3 of us in there. That's simply too long, IMO. Especially when their on-peak wait times are almost double that, if you're unlucky. It bums me out. Secondly, there is no Wi-Fi here. Huge bummer. I love this place so much, but I feel like a total loser going into Starbucks or Peet's with a Blue Bottle cup and just freeloading. I would come here a lot more if it were a realistic destination at which to do some work. Sadly unless I use my hot-spot, it is not. Woof. Anyway, the coffee and service here are fantastic. These folks know and love coffee, and you can definitely taste the care that goes into the craft. Just wish it didn't take so darn long. Or, if it were going to take long, that I could get some work done while I wait. What a shame!

Yelp
Does Blue Bottle Coffee need another review? I mean, their brand has a cult following. But I am going out of my way to write this because I am a major fan of this specific location. Why? It's located in a charming building and is situated at a busy intersection of Sansome & Bush. This Blue Bottle is the perfect place to enjoy a New Orleans-style coffee while watching the hubbub and buzz of FiDi. I've also found the baristas at this location to be friendlier and speedier. This is also a great Blue Bottle because it's very conducive to writing, reading, working, socializing, etc. Sometimes seating can be difficult to find since it's at a popular crossroads, but if you go solo, your luck is greater. In sum, while I like Blue Bottle, I love this particular store. There are other Blue Bottles around downtown and across the city, but definitely make it a point to visit this one if you haven't. Somehow the ambiance and vibe here makes their coffee taste *even more* delicious.

Yelp
Don't see what the big deal or hype is about it's very much regular coffee but over priced. Staff is so over it like blah but I don't blame them I don't expect excellent service from a minimum wage job , waited too long for a latte 11 mins to be exact.. Starbucks would never ! Lol

Yelp
Short Story: Hands down the best coffee chain in SF! Long Story: I've been to several blue bottles and other coffee places in SF. This is by far the best coffee chain and one of the best locations. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Blue Bottle. They have excellent drip coffees, cold brews, affagatos, liege waffles, cookies, brownies, lattes, espresso, etc...I'm getting hungry and thirsty just tying this. Almost everything here is handmade and the Treasury building is quite nice. I highly recommend the waffle...it's super awesome! Long Story: I'm typing this review as I'm in line :)
google avatar

Lydia L.

Yelp
We got one decaf mocha with oat milk and one almond milk latte. Sadly they only offer one size (12oz I believe?). That's a weird rule for me. The espresso was watery, the almond milk was bland and not foamy at all. It's got a good latte scent but zero latte flavor. Plus it's super overpriced - $5.25 for latte + $1 for almond milk. I just can't grasp why it became so popular. I'd probably prefer shitty Starbucks to this.
google avatar

Tess W.

Yelp
Amazing coffee! This chain needs to expand to more cities! Located inside of an office building, you'll miss it if you're not looking for it. However -- this is not a coffee shop to miss! They make their own coffee there and you can definitely tell when you take your first sip. Great spot! If you choose to sit inside, they have an array of high top and low top seating options. Also, if you do chose to sit inside make sure to get a spot by a window for the great natural light.

Yelp
Well in the moment this semester like a decent spot to grab a hot drink on the way to a meeting. It was not. Ordered a matcha latte, black tea and ham and cheese sandwich. Immediately received the sand which upon paying it was pulled from the fridge. They do not have the option to heat up food (interesting not sure how many people crave a cold ham and cheese sandwich on a 45 degree morning in SF). We were told our drinks would be up in 5 minutes given the simplicity. We waited over 20 minutes for our black tea and matcha latte. The matcha latte was a warm milk there was NO- or repeat NO matcha in the latte. What a pitiful shame.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Blue Bottle serves up a great cup of coffee with a decent price tag. With that said, it's still great coffee. If you want something strong, I highly recommend their cold brew, something sweet then their iced coffee, and something creamy then their latte. Actually all their coffee options are great. This location is super super busy during the work week. You can almost always expect a line but it moves pretty fast. The cafe is lined with large windows that gives you a nice view of the street for people watching and allow the illusive SF sunshine to pour through and illuminate the cafe. There is seating if you prefer to enjoy your cup of coffee in the cafe.

Yelp
Blue Bottle Coffee is a bay area favorite when it comes to deliciously brewed coffee, and it is now enjoying its continuous existence under big papa Nestle. Now, big papa Nestle hasn't done me wrong yet since Blue Bottle is just as good as I remember during my last visit here. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon with a friend after lunch to grab a cup of joe before heading back to our offices for work. It's a nice and simple cafe with a small selection of brews and some seating inside. They also sell coffee grinds, snacks, merch and what not too. I just have to say that finding the entrance was a bit of a struggle though since there isn't a direct entrance into the cafe, but instead, one must enter the highrise it is connected to to enter the cafe. At around 1pm in the afternoon, there was only about a 5 min wait to the cashier which was nice. After quite a bit of deliberations, I decided to go simple and get their hot caffe latte. It felt a bit pricy for the size, but it was definitely a nice cup of latte that was neither too acidic nor bitter. I also got to try out a sip of their Oakland blend which is a drip coffee. My friend described it as having the taste of teriyaki beef jerky which made me burst out in laughter since that sounded absurd! However, once I tasted it, the same exact thought ran through my mind. It might sound offputting and strange, but it was still an interestingly good cup of coffee that I could see myself getting on a next visit. If you want to experience the colorful and magnificent joys that come with this now dubbed "tetiyaki beef jerky drip coffee", make no hestitaion whatsoever in purchasing some of them oakland blends!

Yelp
Blue Bottle was fun today. It's expensive and has branding. This one is in the FiDi and it's got a fun interior and the same drink menu. Actually, this one had a fizzy drink with sparkling water and syrup. It was like a citrus lemonade. I don't think it had caffeine and I forgot the name completely, but maybe it was fizz? I liked the time I spent meeting with an old contact in downtown San Francisco. This one is youthful, professional, and hip. It's for lifestyle and it's a place to hang out..whip out your laptop and drink something casually. Here's to Blue Bottle.

Yelp
The first time I had Blue Bottle coffee was at their ferry building location. The lines were long, and I waited at least 30 minutes for my first cold brew. A long wait! Not sure if anything is worth a long wait, and everything is pricey, but the coffee was sweet and yummy. Tried the waffle today: fluffy and warm! Kind of small, though, and not sweet. Blue Bottle at this location has no wifi, but it's great for sitting down for coffee in a beautiful setting. Marble tabletops, high ceilings, glass windows, brightly lit. Perfect for weekend morning readings and people watching.

Yelp
Blue Bottle is continuously expanding and showing increasing growth. But this BB location, which is located in a historical office building, has a combination of a very sleek look with a museum-feel. But one beverage that hasn't changed since I was first introduced from Blue Bottle is the crafty and gourmet mocha. Made with local Scharffen-berger cocoa and organic milk, the $5.00 beverage is still one of my favorite mocha. Blue Bottle mocha is THE only mocha I will only drink. This location also sells food and accessories to brew that perfect beverage. When I first started yelping back in 2006, Blue Bottle was one of the hottest businesses in the Bay Area. Even on this day, BB still is and doing well with more locations. With more locations, I am happy I don't need to travel to Hayes Valley and wait in the long line.

Yelp
I've been to Blue Bottle Coffee before but never this location. This time I went with the Caffe Latte. There was a long line, but I wanted to experience so I waited. It's actually quite large inside with plenty of seating around the perimeter. I'm guessing it too about 5 minutes for my drink or to come up. It was around lunch time, but people were coming and going. It's impressive since people have many other places to choose from in the area. The Caffe Latte was delicious and just what I needed. They don't have a long list of drinks to choose from, but what they do have is well worth waiting for. Note: Walk in the area....don't drive! You won't get very far!

Yelp
A great coffee stop while walking around downtown San Francisco. We swung in to this location when we flagged the blue bottle logo; we had hoped to try it while in SF, but hadn't gone out of our way to find one yet. The place was steady when we were there at noonish on a Saturday, but it didn't take long to order. I got a cold brew (warmer in SF than Virginia this time of year, and I had been walking with my baby on my back, so I felt too hot for a hot coffee drink) which came right out, and was tasty and smooth. It was right on par with most local coffee roaster cold brews and would be a good go to for the warmer days. I can't give it five stars because my bar has been set (maybe unusually) high by a coffee roaster back in Virginia whose cold brew just floats down your throat, sending caffeine into your bloodstream like a spoon full of sugar as Mary Poppins would say. But I digress. My husband got a holiday blend drip, but we watched them make it and they made a pour over, so because it was a pour over it took a few minutes to come out. I'm not sure if they always do pour overs rather than a typical drip, or if something was wrong with their coffeemaker, because it did say drip on the menu, not pour over. His coffee was really good, hot and festive with a hint of spice, without having any overpowering, cloying "holiday" flavors. I would definitely frequent blue bottle if I was local to the Bay Area, and will revisit if I return!

Yelp
My baby brother Calvin recommended we meet here for post-lunch coffee (on me, apparently, even though I also brought him a fried chicken biscuit and apple fritter donuts from The Bird). The line never ceased (even at 2:30 PM, it was a serious wait), so I hope everyone who works here makes six figures. Sarj enjoyed his liege waffle (hot off the presses - I know it's an iron, calm down) and although crowded, the place affords good people watching. The lemonade is made with sparkling water, which is refreshing, but if you're not a fan, you can always get Lemonade south of Market.

Yelp
This Blue Bottle Coffee is just plain cool. Nestled inside the lobby of a classic office building in downtown San Francisco, this modern bar looks almost as great as their coffee drinks. Access is though the lobby without a dedicated entrance with only street parking available. My Sunday morning visit was packed with Outside Lands visitors trying to catch a morning buzz. There were a few morning runners and maybe a few bringing a drink back to their Saturday night guest! This location has a pretty full menu including a wonderful reserve Rwandan espresso which was amazing on a cool and sunny morning. Gourmet coffee is a wonderful treat, and the Blue Bottle on Sansome is a wonderful way to experience it. The surrounding neighborhood is a little dead on the weekends, but I'm glad to see the living visit this outpost.

Yelp
That $16 Blue Bottle cup of coffee must be made with angel's tears. (And you thought the $10 Jamaican at Philz was the isssh) When asked about why that cup of coffee is $16, one should expect an answer like this: the coffee exporter traveled in a dinghy across the red sea with only two suitcases of coffee after being kidnapped and mistaken for a Houthi Rebel, to bring the coffee of his Yemeni brethren to the Specialty Coffee Association of America (:0 there really is such a group!) read it here: http://sf.eater.com/2016/6/10/11907070/blue-bottle-16-dollar-coffee-san-francisco I didn't buy that coz I love Folgers.

Yelp
I didn't get it. The coffee was, meh and the staff felt very over it. No shade to them though, it's just work I get it. The space was cute though.

Yelp
Is the coffee bold? Yes. Is the coffee flavorful? Yes. Is the service friendly? Yes. Is the coffee smooth? Yes. Would I stand in that incredibly long line again? No! The wait was unbelievable so I had to see what the hype was about. Although the coffee was good, it's not worth the long wait in my opinion. Be sure to stop by if you don't see a line.

Yelp
Blue Bottle Coffee is definitely spendy for a coffee joint, but very worth the fresh and rich flavors. My favorite is the the New Orleans Iced Coffee. The space has high ceilings, clean, and would aesthetically call classy. I do which the staff didn't take themselves too seriously. Yes, it's Blue Bottle, a very delicious expensive coffee, but lighten up just a tad.
