Quiet, cool vibe (Saturdaymorning). Courteous service. Good variety of coffees (default is oat milk). Casual interior. No outlets. We had a latte with whole milk and a decaf mocha with oat milk. Mainly cold drinks in fridge and a variety of coffee prep gear.

We came here around 9am, and fortunately there isn’t too much queue. The baristas are friendly and very patient to prepare our siphon. We tried the Ethiopian and it’s lovely.

Very busy place but we managed to get a table. My wife had the avocado with chilli and lemon juice on toast and I had the poached eggs. We both had cafe latte. The service was quick and extremely efficient. It’s difficult to get a seat as it’s busy but we can see why. The food itself was lovely and it was great to watch the guys in the kitchen, despite us having just the above the detail that goes into the presentation is excellent. It was roughly $33 for both of us and is about on par with other breakfast establishments in San Francisco. Worth a try!

This coffee shop was really bright, clean, and cool. The place itself was a nice place to go to grab a cup of joe, the products were good & the location was quite close to our hotel. We decided to find a highly rated coffee shop to head to, to start our day, and this one was one of the highest rated in the area. We headed out on a 15 minute walk and came across this coffee shop in an old building with massive windows, and a line waiting out the door. We thought, the coffee must be good, if there is a line waiting outside for coffee. We promptly took our place and waited patiently for our turn. Once inside, we were impressed with the simple, understated décor & the abundance of natural light from the massive windows. We decided on a cappuccino (for her) and a simple doppio espresso (for me). She also decided to grab one of the re-usable coffee cups, as a souvenir. Surprisingly, the register attendant told us that they could not serve the coffee in the reusable cop we purchased, that they had to give us a disposable & we could then pour it in ourselves & throw away the cup they originally put it in. This seemed like a waste of money, resources & didn't really make sense to us (since they had to handle the cup they gave us anyway), but we had no option. We took our coffees and headed outside to enjoy them. The cappuccino was really good, the espresso, needed improvement. While it seemed the espresso had not been heated to too high of a temperature (burnt), the espresso was much more bitter than what I had expected. Either way, this was a cool spot & we would return to it, in the future.

Google
One of the best cafe in San Francisco. I really really loved their cappuccino. The flavor is excellent. When I was about to enter the store the coffee smell is like heaven. Must try their special coffee along with the waffle. If you are looking for to have in store prepare your mind for Togo. Compact but cute store.

Google
Fantastic coffee shop with a kitchen that will serve breakfast and light lunch that looks better than the coffee shop standard. It's been a number of years since I visited SFO and thus this branch of Blue Bottle, but the coffee is as good as ever and I only tried the candied lemon scone which was delicious and the coffee was really nice. Hard to find as it's at the back of a parking lot in the back corner of the building with the entrance facing the alley. Definitely go if you like really good coffee and check out the equipment for siphon coffee.

Google
Snaking queue of caffeine-hungry working people when I got here at 7:45am... can not imagine what the line up will be like closer to 9am!! Nonetheless, the coffee here (despite the long wait due to stressed baristas) was worth the wait and squeezing elbow to elbow with other customers. The food (avocado toast with eggs) was just ok I would say. Not sure about the chilli flakes on the avocado - that kinda ruined it for me. The eggs were cooked really well and seasoned perfectly and came out before my coffee even. Staff were pleasant enough given the crowd. Will return just for a coffee next time - the lattè is so creamy!! Velvety mouthfeel and beans roasted to perfection.

Google
Blue Bottle Coffee is a coffee shop for those who like to taste good coffee. Located in several addresses in the city of San Francisco, it has a relaxed atmosphere and delicious side dishes. I recommend!

Azsure D.

Yelp
Came in several times on my trip. Happy to snag a bag of myanmar coffee. Got a sumatra espresso. It floored me to pay $5 for an espresso. It was good though a little to lightly roasted. They do offer any dark roasts.

Scot M.

Yelp
I really like blue bottle. I just feel like this place is underwhelming. So much room for more decorative items or even swag. There just seems to be wasted space here. The coffee at blue bottle is the prize here. It's definitely a good coffee. Especially for this who aren't looking for something that is like a sugar based drink. It's coffee.

Charles L.

Yelp
Great coffee. Average scone. I stopped by here in the morning for a quick coffee and breakfast snack. The setting is sparse. The service is really good.

Chloe K.

Yelp
Very friendly staffs and their coffee is always consistently excellent. Damon and Raul's coffee is always the best.

Mei T.

Yelp
My co-worker and I stopped by for caffeine boost. I got an iced matcha latte and she got a cappuccino. We both enjoyed our beverages. The interior was spacious with a decent number of high top tables. Service was quick despite the heavy foot traffic.

Lu G.

Yelp
why give customer service jobs to people that are so bad at it? I'm sure there are better people out there for it I love blue bottle and always ALWAYS go to them when I'm in the states but will stay clear from this location. Staff are rude and seem like they don't want to be there:) me either, bad vibes x Apart from the security guard who was actually LOVELY!! and of course food and coffee is always great

Mari M.

Yelp
Ordered an avocado toast this morning. It totally sucked. They used unripe avocado leaving crunchy avocado chunks all over the open-faced sandwich. I've ordered it before and never have they don't this before. How do u not know the avocado isn't ripe?? Come on guys... if you're gonna charge $10 for a piece of toast get it right!!!

Craig W.

Yelp
I like Blue Bottle coffee just fine. The Sweet Latte we tried was rich and frothy and good. I don't necessarily love the sleek, ultra-modern decor of this particular location but maybe that's just me. It was clean inside and there is decent seating. There is also a small outdoor patio with some seating. It ain't cheap, that's for sure.

Liann A.

Yelp
Blue Bottle Coffee is definitely a hype, there are plenty of locations within the city and we came here on a Sunday afternoon. I ended up getting an affogatto which was a scoop of ice cream with a shot of espresso. It was ok but it took pretty long to get it. My brother ordered a coffee and he got his drink probably like 10-15 minutes faster. Their coffee is good but also pretty mainstream. I don't know why service took particularly long while I was there. There were a lot of people coming and going and there were others just hanging it. It's a nice and sleek place with seating both indoor and outdoor. Good place to catch up. We had 2 toddlers with us so that was a bit tough. Next time I'll prob just stick to a latte or a regular drink for an original blue bitter experience. This location is on a busy road off Market so there's not much parking close by. It's a good spot while you're in transit and heading around. It wasn't too far from the Hyatt that we stayed at in the city.

John P.

Yelp
Conveniently located on Market. Wouldn't recommend that you drive here. Public transportation is best. This is a new and clean location. Overall, blue bottle is good but I wish they had more selection. When it comes to being caffeinated, it sure does the trick. I usually go for the New Orleans Style. It's sweet enough, so you don't need to add in sweetener.

Antonio C.

Yelp
Always my favorite coffee stop before or after work, I love the staff they are very friendly always with a big smile and so kind!! I hate to write this review but the Asian guy with glasses who help me on Sunday 08/04 (today) was very rude not friendly at all and he also took my order wrong not only ones but twice!!! so disappointed! Luckily the other friendly barista remake my coffee and apologized she was so nice! But this guy looks like he don't wanna be working here or just hate his job!!

Edwin R.

Yelp
Came here after attending a conference at the Moscone Center and so glad I did. It's only a 10-minutes walk and so worth it. My cappuccino was excellent. Service here was fantastic. Love the open floor plan and spaciousness. Great catching up with friends, maybe some light work, and they have a few tables outside which is great during those nice weather days in San Francisco. Cheers!

Crissy G.

Yelp
Came here in the morning. Smaller location. The service was great. My coffee wasn't hot, but it tasted great, got the Sweet Latte.

Trina W.

Yelp
This chain was in the farmers market and we found a location close to our hotel. We love love loved the NOLA style chicory coffee and had it three time during our stay. On our last day, we bought whole bean coffee to take home. They are simplistic in the most delicious way.

Irene J.

Yelp
The store is very clean and the ceilings are super high so the sound is very echoey in the cafe. Everything was great except for the service. There was an asian guy who was taking my order and he was unwelcoming and very unfriendly. I think it was nearing the end of his shift but he just had a very annoyed demeanor and it irked both me and my brother. He was very dismissive and I felt like I couldn't ask him any questions about anything. But the people on bar were amazing! My sweet hot latte was made perfectly and the latte art was so so pretty. The lemon berry poundcake was delicious as well. Overall, everything was good!

Jean Y.

Yelp
Nice cute Blue Bottle in SF. Somehow their coffee is real good! That's all I can say. Be back place.

Yelp
UPDATED: I previously posted a review focused mainly on an issue I had with one of my drinks. The owner/manager reached out in the most classy and helpful manner in order to make things right. As a small business owner myself, I was really impressed with the level of customer service and concern that I was shown here. Visited again this morning to give it another shot, and my coffee was outstanding. Incredible depth of flavor that changes as the coffee goes from hot to warm to cool. Highly recommend their pour over single origin coffees, just ensure you have a few minutes to wait as the preparation method takes time. If you don't have time, the regular drip coffee of the day is great too. Delicious pastry selection as well. Friendly service at the register, nice tunes, clean location to boot. Blue Bottle has won me over once again!

Erin P.

Yelp
WOW!! Absolutely delicious! For the first time, I ordered the black cardamom latte with oat milk. I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised! The latte was really aromatic, but still light and delicious. Regarding the "vibe" of the restaurant, it is very sleek and cool! I don't recall seeing any plugs at the coffee shop, but I wasn't looking very closely. Just something to keep in mind if you are planning to work from there.

Jennifer H.

Yelp
I have to admit, they have great coffee but I would only go for a treat not every day because a cup of mocha costs $7. I brought my own cup so I got a little discount. If you come during morning rush during the weekday, expect to wait. I think my drink took at least 20 mins, luckily I was not in a rush that day.

Pooja J.

Yelp
Lovely coffee , worth the hype . We tried their cortado recommended by a friend and it was so great

Gabe S.

Yelp
Service is slow and terrible. One person making drinks and taking orders. She is moving so slow. Ordered drinks at 9:10, it's 9:45 and drinks are still not ready.

Tram N.

Yelp
My first Blue Bottle experience was in Oakland so now I always grab a cup whenever I come to visit. People here are friendly and the drinks come out fast despite having a lot of people in the store. This location is rather cute and has quite a few selection of pastries to choose from.

Anh-Dao T.

Yelp
Starbucks at this corner has closed so that means you have the option of either Blue Bottle or Bluestone on Market St. now. We chose Blue Bottle and were not disappointed. The after lunch crowd was about 6-8 people deep so it did take a while to get our beverages. When it finally came, we said it better be worth it and you know what? It really was! I had their matcha latte last time I was at a Blue Bottle and this time, I tried the hojicha latte which I might like even more. Super yummy and far superior tea than one of Starbucks' tea lattes.

Kurtis J.

Yelp
Always liked Blue Bottle for its sleek, clean design and ability to not complicate coffee. My order here is always a double espresso (Hayes Valley) and as I always say, if you don't get served water with the espresso--don't take it seriously!

Alyssa A.

Yelp
If you're ever near SF's Union Square or Westfield mall I recommended you visit this Blue Bottle location! The interior is super minimalist and is very clean plus I spotted a public bathroom. I ordered the iced matcha latte and a salted caramel cookie. The matcha was slightly watery and didn't have that much flavor but it's okay, the cookie was small but mighty in flavor and was just what I needed that day!

Amanda S.

Yelp
Coffee is great, very close to Australian style coffee. The barista was great, other staff MIA for ages. Busy due to lack of staff. Pricey but good.

Yelp
** The following review reflects my experience prior to the shelter-in-place order currently in effect. ** I kinda feel like Blue Bottle and I have diverged paths unlike me and Philz. I think it happened around the time they got acquired by Nestle and lost a bit of its indie edge. Their coffee still has their mojo, but it's served in a veneer of polished blonde wood and Scandinavian design sensibilities which must include uncomfortable stools. Jamie W. and I came here as we were passing by the Westfield, which explains why customers were loaded down with shopping bags. Jamie had the $4 Tea and I had the chocolatey $3.75 Moment's Notice (photo: https://bit.ly/2Weobh9). It was lovely. The shopping bags at my feet, not so much. COFFEE - 4 stars...rich and smooth and truly Blue Bottle AMBIANCE - 3 stars...kinda sterile and offputting to me SERVICE - 3.5 stars...personable enough TOTAL - 4 stars...the Westfield overflow diverts the quality of the coffee served RELATED - Searching for caffeine in the city? Here's a collection of places I've tried and reviewed: https://bit.ly/30sXK8D

Yelp
I have 4 words for you - Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Loaf. Bruuuuh. Obviously the coffee is exceptional. Cold Brew no sugar no cream like it's that good, but when you pair exceptional coffee with something fantastical like a chocolate chip pumpkin loaf you're transported. I don't know where we're going, but I'm here for it.

Shomnath B.

Yelp
Top tier latte and service - very consistent quality. Baked goods are sourced well. Locations are accessible

Jamie Y.

Yelp
Love Blue Bottle coffee and the hojicha latte. Consistently good drinks at every location I've been to, and friendly service. FYI, noticed an automatic 4% Healthy SF Surcharge to my bill. No thanks.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Great customer service and lattes!! They play good music, the ambiance/decor is too plain for me. However, the coffee is top notch and keeps me awake on rough mornings :)

Jason W.

Yelp
Woke up after a LONG day of being a fake tourist and was in need of some rejuvenation. I've wanted to go to Blue Bottle for a long time, so it was the first place I thought of when I woke up. A short walk from the hotel had me passing several other coffee shops, but hitting Blue Bottle was totally worth it. The interior is bright and spacious. All woods, glass, and plant life. I loved the layout and it looked like a great place to spend a bit of time in relaxing. Lemon Yuzu Fizz: 10/10. refreshing, light, and a pleasant tartness make this drink a hit! They hit just the right amount of sweetness to not take it over into Fanta territory. I liked it a lot! New Orleans Style Ice Coffee: 8/10. This for me was just...coffee. I'm not sure I tasted much of the chicory? I would have loved to have it sweeter. I was supes happy they had oat milk though! It was still good! Just not remarkable? Iced Mocha: 8/10. Same as above. It was pleasant! The mocha was closer to having cocoa powder than a syrup. Seems as tho all the drinks keep the sweetness to a minimum. You could definitely taste more do the chocolate this way. Worth going to. I need a second time to try more!

Adam M.

Yelp
I continue going to this Blue Bottle thinking maybe they will improve next time, but unfortunately this place has lost it. The asian boy wearing glasses has the ugliest attitude and smug look on his face every time I order. Plus I wonder about their training process? I order a cortado and the milk is always too foamy or too much milk it's never consistent. By the way, dirtiest bathroom in the city and I've used a public market street toilet. Feces on the walls..

Carlie M.

Yelp
I've heard good things about blue bottle, and they were all right! We came in late one Saturday afternoon to get coffee and pastries. The coffees are pretty basic, but they do have some tasty, unique ones! I got the sweet latte. My fiancé got the New Orleans iced coffee. Also, the pastries were half off because it was near the end of the day! We got the almond tea cake and the ham and cheese croissant. Loved the coffee and the baked goods!

Janesh R.

Yelp
Great location and a really friendly staff. Joel was super sweet and helpful! Recommend trying the cardamom latte

Regina P.

Yelp
The gentleman that took our order was one of the nicest people we have encountered so far in SF. He recommended a great latte and the cookies are delicious! I loved my iced latte so much I'm coming back tomorrow. The latte had no harsh coffee after taste or that bitter old coffee taste. It wasn't overly sweet. Now, back to the guys that took our order. I'm moved by how nice this man was. There was a homeless man that came in and he was treated like a human being. This place is great.

Evelyn W.

Yelp
The best Blue Bottle in the city - because it's new and empty! Came in to buy four of their gift boxes and received great service. The cafe is well lit and has a very spacious waiting area with a few bar tables and seating along the wall and window. We were able to get our large-ish order relatively quickly even though most of the staff didn't know what the gift box looked like since it's a new store. The coffee is fragrant and there is a relaxed atmosphere.

Arzo R.

Yelp
Love their cardamom latte so delicious. Just wish it wasn't super overpriced. Need more locations in the east bay!

Johnny H.

Yelp
TL;DR: A small, cute Blue Bottle location in Downtown SF. Thoughts: I stopped by here on Saturday afternoon for a quick pick-me-up drink. I got the iced mocha and it's rich and smooth! The atmosphere is relaxing; there are a few tables and chairs, although for all the tables except the middle one it's only for two people sitting side-by-side (one long bench with a few small tables attached).

Aaron Z.

Yelp
Good coffee selection with good bites for breakfast. Fast attentive service and in a hip fit location. Good morning vibes with low key music and ambiance

Connie X.

Yelp
Blue Bottle Coffee is as good as I remembered! This time around, when I visited this location, I ordered myself a decaf almond milk cafe latte. The drink already is unsweetened, though there's enough sugar in the almond milk itself to make the drink taste like a dessert. I love both the convenience of the location (right along Market), as well as the friendliness of the baristas there. The shop is also a nice place to work, though I'd imagine having to come in earlier if I wanted to seat myself at a table. All in all, you cannot go wrong with Blue Bottle!

Lisa H.

Yelp
Love Blue Bottle in general - this location is great - quick service and a perfect Breve Cappuccino.

Joy O.

Yelp
This location is the worst in the city; needs some work. Came in on 1/3 in the afternoon and two young gals were working - not the best attitude. Both wore latex gloves while making coffee (really weird imo, cuz what other location has baristas using gloves for handcraft coffee??). Makes me feel as if they were cleaning and doing sanitary duties and never took the gloves off pre coffee ritual. Got a nola coffee - it was good; it always is in sf. Asked for a ham sandwich but they were "out." If out of the ham sandwich then why is it displayed in the lovely glass case? Interesting.

Kat P.

Yelp
I bought a sparkling water and a cookie while I wait for my dad. The staff was so rude. After I stated my order he repeatedly asked "Is that all?" In an irritated voice. After paying my due, I said "you know, I'd give you tips but you sounded very rude". You can see he got embarrassed about it. He rolled his eyes and shrugged. This place looks fancy and at the time I was just wearing a sweatshirt. I wasn't sure if he thought I couldn't afford a cookie and a water or because he was tired. I get that the job can be exhausting and he probably wasn't having a good day that day. But to treat a customer regardless of what he/she was wearing with a hostile manner or because the day sucked, isnt an excuse to be rude. It's funny how I checked out other reviews that some were treated rudely while others have great experience. Blue bottle, do you choose who treat right and who's not to? Such a shame.

Selena M.

Yelp
Such a clean and efficient coffee shop. First time trying Blue Bottle and so glad it was at this location! My boyfriend is not a coffee person but enjoyed the hot Green Tea and his natural granola bowl. The shakerato here triumphs over the one at Starbucks Reserve! My only request is that they offer bigger sizes lol! The baristas were kind and quick. Definitely will be back.

Theresa S.

Yelp
Blue Bottle coffee is even more hipster than Philz. There isn't much to say - I like their New Orleans coffee - their affogato was a tad too sweet. The coffee is flavorful and rich. This particular location is in an off street. If you're coming here for the first time, keep walking and you'll get there via Google maps. Note that the street gets quiet and there are usually homeless people along the way if you're coming from Westfield Mall.

Katie C.

Yelp
Love this new Blue Bottle! It's a great location for anybody who works on Market Street and it's been empty since it opened about a week ago (this probably won't last much longer). There isn't as much seating as other Blue Bottle locations in the city but there is some. The service is quick, the staff is friendly and the drinks are incredible.

Inna D.

Yelp
I always enjoy every sip of my coffee here! The atmosphere is really great and the baristas are very helpful and friendly. The location is also pretty convenient since it's on the corner of the street. I know I can always come to Blue Bottle for an amazing latte

Ben P.

Yelp
Stopped in on my way from the hotel to the conference center. The coffee was great, I had an americano and will definitely be back during my stay!
