We stayed at the Argonaut, which has been special all on its own, with its character, attention to detail and location, but dining at Blue Mermaid was a singular experience. The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in and the food was delicious. My seared Sea Scallops (which I requested with potato instead of lentil rice) were perfectly cooked and stunningly presented, my mom had the fish and chips with delicious, fresh cod. We also tried both the Chocolate Cremeux and Mango Variations for dessert, both of which were again delicious and made you want to keep tasting for the flavours and textures. I highly recommend this dining experience at the corn of Hyde & Jefferson just a couple blocks from Fisherman's Wharf.

Google
This is one of those places captures the charm of Fishermans wharf. Maher is attached to a hotel. The decor is all exposed beams and nautical themes. Clam chowder and crab chowder. We got them in the bread bowl to go. We were very pleased with the quality and the service.

Google
This was a charming place to stop for lunch. It wasn’t crowded, and we were able to quickly grab a table. The burger and fish and chips were decent, nothing standout but satisfying after biking through the city. The nautical decor added a cozy, unique touch, making it a pleasant spot to relax and recharge. A nice choice for a casual meal!

Google
Food generally is good! Service is amazing 👍🏻 Pan Seared Salmon - really good, the sauce is delicious and salmon cooked to perfection. Chowder - loved the Manhattan Chowder, my family preferred the corn one! I found the bread bowl too hard and unflavourful though. Lobster Ravioli - its a little meh and nice, but not spectacular.

Google
Blue mermaid mirrors the nautical feel and decorum of the hotel it resides in or attached to rather. At the end of the pier 39 or whatever that street is called leading to it. I am from the Bay Area and like clam chowder and in my young years went on a journey to find the best one from the self proclaimed to the local winners and after maybe 3 dozen options had been tried have chosen Blue Mermaid Corn Clam Chowder to receive my signature as best clam chowder. Always order fried shrimp too. I must go here every time I visit the city. I have introduced many and she has never disappointed! Downside opens after 11 for these options but I make it work!

Google
Chowder was delicious as was the fish and chips. I loved the fries they were perfectly crispy. We had the crab and corn chowder in the bread bowl and it was an excellent choice. Great sourdough bread that soaked up the chowder just right.

Google
Nice spot for a sunny brunch near Fisherman’s Wharf. We were happy to find this calm oasis in such a typically touristy area. Inside looked a bit dark/quiet at that time of the day, but the outside terrace was lovely. Bloody Mary’s were delicious and brunch mains were good. It was more expensive than average, but service was good.

Google
Good: great atmosphere, good music, my gf said it’s a cute place, visited on Tuesday afternoon, happy hour 2-5, friendly staff, service is on point. Our server Hector was great! Chicken sandwich and bread was bowl chowder is amazing. Con: in need of a better bottled beer selection.

Yelp
We decided on Blue Mermaid after sightseeing around Fisherman's wharf. The staff and our waiter were both friendly and personable - telling us their favorite things on the menu. I was surprised by how good the food was considering the restaurant was pretty empty at 7pm ~ maybe it was off season and a Thursday? All the dishes we had were great - the mermaid burger, scallops, lobster ravioli. There drinks could be better thought - they seemed watered down and overall not good. Would come back for food but skip the drinks.

Yelp
Was staying at the Argonaut and stopped in for lunch on my arrival day and breakfast on my departure day. This had to be one of the best sandwiches I ever had. It was so satisfying! I only ate half because it was so big and finished the other half later in my room. The breakfast was average. Staff was friendly. Lunch and morning environments were both busy but the overall volume of the restaurant was on the quieter side.

Yelp
The best clam chowder in San Francisco and I will die on this hill. Nice soupy consistency. Not too gluey. They have cups, bowls, and bread bowl options. No need to get tourist chowder from the other place. This is the one. They have a nice cozy bar also.

Mark H.

Yelp
Our friends and we stayed in the adjacent Argonaut Hotel. We used the guest discount and the free drink per guest in the restaurant. Great meal, service, and food! A friend had the cioppino. We shared the sampler of three clam chowders followed by the crab ravioli and the seared scallops with a very tangy citrus foam.

Yelp
My husband and I heard about this restaurant (in the Argonaut hotel) and its chef-Amod Singh-and decided to give it a try while visiting SF. As soon as we got there, we met the chef and asked him to go ahead and do a tasting menu for us...we were in his hands! He not only went above and beyond our expectations, he created several unique vegetarian and non-veg courses for both of us! The manager, Tony, was also so friendly and hospitable and did some wine pairings for us as well. This restaurant is nautical themed and looks fairly casual, but the food we ate here deserves a white tablecloth setting...! We started with an amazing amuse bouche with tuna tartare for me...the presentation was so beautiful, and the flavors were mind blowing!! Then we had a "flavor bomb" which is a small, crisp Indian puri filled with a delicious tamarind spiced water that explodes in your mouth. Next came a scallop curry for me and a veggie one for hubby...oh my goodness, the scallops melted in my mouth and the flavors were so rich. Next course was a lobster tail with hints of Indian flavors...again, just too good! As if we weren't full enough, the final dish was a twist on chicken biryani...and again, super flavorful and super moist chicken. I cannot begin to express how incredibly delicious ALL the courses were...and to top it off, the presentation of each course was masterful...truly a 5 Star dining experience! We were entirely too full but shared one dessert called Mango Variations...believe me when I tell you that it's nothing like anything you've had before! The mango flavor was subtle-not overpowering like many mongo desserts-and all the different elements of crispiness, mousse and gelato melded together so perfectly! We had to give Chef Singh a standing ovation at the end...it was the MOST amazing food experience we've ever had, and I am a HUGE foodie that's eaten at many restaurants across the globe! This chef deserves a Michelin star for sure! I wish we lived closer so I could eat here again, but I will definitely be planning another SF trip just to eat his food again. We both felt very lucky to have found out about him and to have experienced his amazing food! Bravo Chef Amod Singh!

Yelp
The hubby surprised me with an afternoon in SF! He chose to take me to lunch at the Blue Mermaid which was right around the corner from Ghirardelli Square and the cable car turnaround. I opted for a cup of crab and corn chowder with a side of bay fries and he went for the Benedict. My chowder was full of crab and corn (as expected) with bacon! Fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy and delicious on the inside. It came with ketchup and a peppery thousand island like sauce which was nice. Javier was our server and he was friendly and checked on us often. I would definitely stop here again when I head up to the city.

Yelp
I don't have an aversion to Fisherman's Wharf. Just to the loud packs of tourists who roam the congested area. That's why eating at the bar of this hotel had a certain appeal. Most of the hotel guests were presumably out and about in the middle of the afternoon probably eating clam chowder out of a sourdough bread bowl at a wharf stand and getting an Instagram moment out of it. I had heard the hotel was nice from locals in need of a staycation. I saddled up to the nearly empty bar where the chief bartender was cleaning glasses. The first thing I got was the $18 Espresso Martini which he made with elan, a nice mix of Grey Goose (not my fave but fine in this context), espresso, kahlua, and simple syrup (photo: https://yelp.to/TRvlIo6pSe). It went well with the chowdah for sure. Due to a lack of imagination, I ordered the plain $15 bowl of New England Clam Chowder with mirepoix and potato (photo: https://yelp.to/WTKuG-jody). No bread bowl, no bacon, no Dungeness crab, no roasted corn kernels. Just clams, and it was plenty thick and buttery. I skipped the bread entirely for the oyster crackers. Meanwhile, the bar was starting to fill up with boisterous tourists. Time to gulp my martini and head out. FOOD - 4 stars...good chowdah COCKTAILS - 4.5 stars...an even better espresso martini AMBIANCE - 4 stars...woodsy maritime decor SERVICE - 4 stars...an efficient bartender TOTAL - 4 stars...no mermaids seen RELATED - Exploring Fisherman's Wharf? Yelp
Made it to Happy Hour on Friday at 2pm. Sat outside next to the fire pit. Love the ambiance. Crab and Corn Chowder - it was so good that I ate it all up before I realized I forgot to take a picture of it. Fish and Chips - nice fresh white fish in thick batter. Key Lime Pie - no green food coloring, not too tart, not too sweet, nice dessert

Yelp
I'm a local and have been coming to Blue Mermaid regularly for over a year and a half. Good food and drinks. But the best part is the friendly staff. Luis is hard working and has always treated our family with kindness and great service. What a gem this place is!

Darria C.

Yelp
My friend and I stopped here to celebrate her birthday. We were greeted with two complementary glasses of champagne. I ordered the salmon with bay fries. Loved it! My favorite was the crab and corn soup. It was full of crabmeat and flavorful. It was so good I ordered a second cup! Would def recommend this place.

Yelp
Nice restaurant in/ next to the Argonaut hotel down by the waterfront. The lamb sliders and the scallops were tasty. Service was efficient. They close fairly early; by 9.30 or 10 so don't get there too late. They have an outside patio section down a side alley area which is good if the weather is nice.

Theresa S.

Yelp
Came to see the fireworks. Blue Mermaid upped their prices by $2+ per dish during July 4th weekend. I know this because I was just there the day before and had a photo of the menu. Seems sketch but that's capitalism for ya! We got a house salad and it was sad for $16. It had wilted leaves and just wasn't fresh.

Yelp
Came here after swimming in the bay. It was a gorgeous day. Fisherman's Wharf has a ton of places to try but I am afraid on this occasion, I should have just went to in-n-out instead. I am a HUGE brunch gal. My friends and I decided let's try this place out. The menu was indeed promising but the flavors and the customer service were lacking. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and not even a HINT of lemon which was disappointing. The pancakes were bland. My friends had the same comment as well with their dishes. I asked for a bite of their potatoes and I agree. The food is one thing but the customer service would usually save a place for me. Our server was not attentive and left us alone for our whole meal. We had made contact and raised our hand to call him over once and he looked and disappeared. When he checked his other tables he didn't check us. We called him again and asked for a refill for our drinks and hot sauce. We never got a refill on our drinks. And so we called another server over and they also left and called our server (apparently everyone is only responsible for their section/tables). Our server glanced at us quickly and went back in, after he came back out and handed us the hot sauce when my friends eggs and potatoes were cold. We finished 5 minutes after that because she was finally able to eat her food. Would I go back again? Maybe for a burger but brunch...hard pass. Customer service 2/5, food 3/5. Thank you.

Brian R.

Yelp
Nice place to get clam chowder on a cold day and enjoy bluepoint oysters on the patio on a warmer day. Our last batch of oysters was a little questionable. Service was amazing. Patio rocked.

Yelp
We stayed at the argonaut hotel and this establishment is connected to it. My husband and I shared the New England clam chowder and it was 5 stars!!!!! One of the best we've had! The fish and chips was just ok, something about the breading was not as tasty. Our server was very attentive and gave us some Tips to save some monies! We appreciate that!

Iman D.

Yelp
The best brunch location on the Wharf! I had the seafood omelet along with the chicken & waffles (don't judge me) and omg it was so delicious! Some of the best chicken and waffles I've even had in my life (and I am from the south so that says a lot ) and the seafood omelet was so meaty and yummy as well! When visiting San Fran be sure to stop here and enjoy an amazing meal!

Michael M.

Yelp
Hotel restaurants can be hit or miss. this one is a hit!! amazing food! love the craft cocktails. and the hospitality was on point!! but the highlight must have is the corn and crab chowder!

Linda S.

Yelp
So I guess you can call this date-night just a bi down the street from our apartment, and with my spouse not working on Friday till 8pm -- we decided to make it happy hour at The Rose. Happy hour prices are the same other than just a reduced menu. But, if you prefer to nosh on the dinner menu instead.... have at thee! And we ordered their BLT and chowder sampler. I inhaled the corn chowder and my husband devoured his cup of clam chowder. We concurred that the Manhattan chowder had either been canned or frozen. Each and every one of them coulda use the help of some Sherry to liven things up a bit. The BLT was served open-faced, which I appreciated since there was room for less bread. Overall, it was pretty tasty! It is spacious inside the restaurant and that it flows in to a nice vestibule area connected with restrooms located down the hall of one well known hotel. I'd give it a 7.5/10.

Yelp
Recently had the opportunity to dine at the Blue Mermaid for the first time and had a great experience. Staff were warm and welcoming. Meals came out quickly and accurately. The bartenders were also attentive and friendly. The food was amazing. All of these things contributed to a wonderful meal that my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed. The Blue Mermaid is the restaurant attached to the Argonaut Hotel. As with most restaurants in the city, especially in this area of San Francisco, parking is extremely limited. The restaurant itself was immaculately clean with matching decor to fit the theme of the Argonaut Hotel. At the time of our visit, outdoor seating was available to enjoy a cocktail, beer, or wine. Indoor seating was also available for regular dine in. Our order consisted of the: - Calamari - Dungeness Crab & Corn Chowder - Blue Mermaid Burger Everything we tried was phenomenal. The calamari was extremely tasty. They were perfectly tender with the right amount of crisp. The dipping sauce the calamari was paired with was unique and delicious. The Dungeness Crab & Corn Chowder is made in-house and was a standout item for our order. The The soup was generously filled with Dungeness crab, which tasted as if it was freshly caught. We ended up getting it in a bread bowl, which I recommend instead of regular bowl. It could have been a play on my eyes, but the bread bowl seemed bigger and looked like it held more soup than the regular bowl. To be honest, the portion was large enough to be its own meal. The bread also seemed to be fresh. The Blue Mermaid Burger was an amazing wagyu burger with exceptional french fries to complement it. The aioli that came with the entree made an excellent dipping sauce for the fries as well as a spread for the burger itself. Our meal at the Blue Mermaid exceeded our expectations. We would undoubtedly return to try more off of their menu in the future.

Yelp
Restaurant was very clean and cozy. We went before five on a weekday in winter, so it was not busy at all. Our Server was timely, friendly, and very attentive, but still gave us space. He got me a small free sample of chowder since I wanted to try it but cannot stomach a full cup of dairy-based soup. Chowder is very good. I also got the beet salad, which was delicious and beautifully plated.

Diana T.

Yelp
Visiting the area and needed something lite to eat. The outdoor seating looked very clean and inviting. We were seated promptly as we were the only guests there at the time. I had the Crab, sweetcorn and bacon chowder my husband chose the Chowder platter with the Crab sweetcorn and bacon, England Chowder and Manhattan Chowder. It was served with some french baguette and butter. ( was a little hard). The chowders were delicious. $17 for mine $21 for platter. There is a 7% added fee due to covid losses We got our check and it read $83 or so? Should have been $47. We brought it to the servers attention and it was changed straight away The restaurant is attached to the hotel so you have to get a code for the bathrooms which is located in hotel not the restaurant.

Kristina B.

Yelp
Service is horrible! I've been waiting 2 hours. No one refilled my drink. Thank goodness I had a bottle of water in my bag. Rice was supposed to be with my dinner but they forgot it no one has come back to check on us. Don't waste your time here.

Neil C.

Yelp
Here on a business trip. Great place for a solo diner to sit at the bar, have a couple cocktails and dinner, and not be bothered by loud music or other patrons. The bartender was a attentive and not pushy, and the service was quick but not rushed.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel and got a voucher ($15) towards our meal and decided to have breakfast. Food was exceptionally prepared (so much so | forgot to snag a picture.) Portions were generous and delicious: perfect over medium and scrambled eggs with a side of bacon. The best part, we were able to order a la carte and not have to eat/pay for all the carbohydrates!!! Coffee was okay- I haven't had a good cup in San Francisco yet. Service was excellent and the hotel /restaurant decor is fabulous.

Brice Y.

Yelp
Breakfast: The space is nice, following a nautical theme with lots of dark wood and ocean colors. The light comes into the room and makes it feel bright and open. This is the theme for our experience: looked great, but didn't deliver. We started with a latte and cappuccino: both excellent. Seemed like the start of a great meal. Reached for sugar and noticed someone had beaten me to it. Two raw sugars had cute little bite marks out of the corners, like tiny sharks had taken a chomp. I moved on... and so should you. Like so many things in this part of SF, the Blue Mermaid fails to deliver. The food was of cafeteria quality, the service was adequate. But knowing that mice had been on the table, and worse yet, no one on the staff had bothered to change out the damaged goods, meant either the staff don't really pay attention, or the mice had only recently departed... either scenario was disappointing.

Yara F.

Yelp
Came here for breakfast because we had some credits while staying at the hotel. I wish I had save them for brunch because I didn't realize that the breakfast menu was pretty limited. I got the omelette that had Dungeness crab and it was fine, but definitely didn't have enough crab and was under seasoned. As is the case with most hotel restaurant breakfasts, it was totally fine overall, and nothing special to write home about, but given the prices being higher than your average breakfast spot, I have to take off stars. Service was a little bit slow but it was a very busy morning, so definitely giving them a pass on that. The restaurant itself is pretty cute and has a nice outdoor seating area as well so if you're planning on coming, I would recommend coming for brunch and sitting outside!

Behnoosh N.

Yelp
This restaurant is a rip off! The service is basic, and food is BAD! It's felt an 11 year old made this pasta for me! No salt, full of "corn" ( TOO MANY! I tried to remove but that wasn't enough) and carrots that made the taste sweet and weird. Not enough cheese in it( I didn't see or taste any cheese)! It was horrible! We were 6 people and we ordered fish & chips, this pasta, and fish of the day. All were bad and basic. The clam chowder that we had for appetizers didn't have clams or maybe it was chopped so tiny that we couldn't taste. At the end, the bill was $500!!!!! Big restaurant but maybe a few tables!

Tiffany C.

Yelp
We were in the area for a dr appt and decided to try out this place for the well known chowder. Sadly, the bowl of chowder was a disappointment. Got the crab and corn chowder to go and there were barely any noticeable shreds of crab, which was the whole reason we got this chowder. Even the other ingredients like corn and potatoes were sparse tho the flavor was good. Definitely not worth the $12 plus tax and extra restaurant fee. The staff on the other hand was superb and very friendly and welcoming. Though we didn't dine in, the ambiance was really nice as it's in a fancy hotel.

Lorene A.

Yelp
The yogurt parfait was good and the service was great. The yogurt parfait and regular cup of tea was over $40 though and that is expensive, even for San Francisco.

Sachiko M.

Yelp
We just got to SF and this was our first restaurant stop. The clam chowder soup was delicious. We had the brunch, omelette for me and the American breakfast for him. It was bland, nothing special. The service not so good either. They are either overworked or underpaid. Can you believe the waiter told us that the coffee was old and did not offer to brew some more instead he offered me and Americano, a latte or a cappuccino. Of course I declined, lol. Thank you but no thank you.

Pat C.

Yelp
So, oddly enough the best meal I had during my most recent Sf visit w/ the fam was of all places a super touristy spot inside the old, del monte cannery building - every thing was just right : the old fashioned (they call it something else) was very good, the oysters in a half shell were excellent, and the rest of the sea food were also quite good. TBH kinda shocking, also the service was that of a haute dining experience with seasoned servers. Kudos, 5 big stars.

Dina U.

Yelp
Not a bad restaurant for a hotel restaurant. I wish they have more items on the menu but their chowder was decent. I got the sampler. Fish and chips, the fish was a little bland but they used great batter and fried to perfection, light and crispy. I was at the hotel for 2 weeks, I can tell the differences in their staff in the morning, not too friendly and a little slow. I enjoyed the fire place at the courtyard, great for chilly morning in SF.

Michell R.

Yelp
The food was good both times we ate breakfast there Service on Thursday was outstanding. On Friday it was much busier and initially service was horrible. I had to complain and finally ask to be moved in order to get any service at all. Ince moved the service was excellent My biggest criticism is that the bar closes nightly at 9:30 even on July 4 and weekends. My wife and I ended our day each of 3 days sitting at the bar and closing was abrupt. We watched many disappointed people turned away between 9:25 and 9:45 went we were "kicked out" each day The indoor bar area is nice, and the outdoor patio is very nice (with a couple if fire pits). The indoor restaurant feels like a breakfast place or decent place for a quick bowl of soup. I would not recommend for a sit down dinner

Chad M.

Yelp
Food good, service inconsistent Recently dined at the Blue Mermaid, nestled within the Argonaut Hotel, and found it to be a mixed bag in terms of service. The dinner was fantastic--our server was attentive, making the experience memorable with great recommendations from the diverse menu. In contrast, breakfast was a letdown; service was slow, and there were times we had to seek out management just to get a refill. The food quality, thankfully, remained consistent and tasty throughout. My advice, focus on dinner to enjoy the vibrant location/atmosphere.

Lynn B.

Yelp
The food and services were excellent...thank you for making it nice... we sat outside by the fireplace... it was spectacular... we will be back.

Erick B.

Yelp
We had lunch here for Mother's Day 2024. The Chowder with corn was really good. But the violinist playing was the most wonderful human being. He came by and showed my 3 year old girl how to use the bow to make notes. My daughter loved him and clapped for every song. And then he hopped on the unicycle. Basically my son has talked about it all day. We even took pictures of the performer to remember the experience. I can't imagine a better Mother's Day experience. I can't give enough stars.

Chelsey W.

Yelp
Great lunch place for less touristy seafood in fisherman's wharf. Sat outside by the fire pit.

Chloe S.

Yelp
Came here for restaurant week and got to try a sort of sampler of some of their dishes. The restaurant week deal for dinner was sampling 3 items for $45. We decided to try the steamed mussels, lobster mac, and the crab dip. We found the dishes were perfect for sharing and sampling the food. The crab dip was extremely creamy as a lactose person I couldn't sample too much but the dish left me wanting more spice. The mussels were cooked beautifully full of flavor and body and the lobster mac was cheesy and tasted homemade. Of all the dishes only the mussels stood out as delicious and unique. The crab and corn chowder is a 10/10 and I would recomend getting it in a bread bowl. The sourdough breadbowl was toasted to perfection and the bread wasn't dense but light and airy so delicious. The corn chowder was unbelievably creamy and well seasoned. We also ordered the clam chowder which was also a hit. We also tried the calamari but we found it to be so crispy it took away from the calamari flavor. So crunchy that we felt it was double fried and almost too crisp. We also opted for a salad to which we thought was heavily overdressed and somewhat defeated the purpose of ordering a fresh vegetable salad. Overall we felt underwhelmed by the meal, although we had excellent service all the staff were extremely attentive and pleasant. Would love to come back for that AMAZING corn chowder and bread bowl.

Greg B.

Yelp
Surprisingly delicious. Their chowder is the star of the show. With tasty American/coastal affaire this place should not be overlooked. Great for lunch meetings or quick dinner. Wine is pricey but can't beat the location, quality and management takes pride in the customer experience

Mike F.

Yelp
Wonderful food and great service. The ambience was authentic San Francisco. We loved the ahi tuna and kale taco small plate

Ashley J.

Yelp
We came for 2 things. Chowder & sourdough. Neither disappointed. We had reservations which made it a breeze. However, they weren't super packed on a Wednesday early evening. The clam chowder *chef's kiss* The sourdough is sent from the heavens and the flavor of unicorns. Trust me, I'm a professional. We had an incredible date night. They were quick, prompt, extremely friendly and our waiter was even our photographer. Who doesn't want help with pics?! TONS of options but why would you go and NOT get chowder????? That's what a weirdo would do and I'm sure you're not a weirdo 10/10 will be back when in the Bay Area again

Frank B.

Yelp
Attached to the Argonaut, The Blue Mermaid awaits you. Great space and plenty of room. Located on The Wharf. The food was terrific.

Michele R.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants to visit. Hands down the best crab and corn chowder! Beautiful outside patio. I thought they had become a casualty of the pandemic but after visiting Ghirardelli saw they were open so I had to stop in. Ordered: Crab and corn chowder

Daniel B.

Yelp
Walk down the quiet steps from Beach Street, and be mesmerized as you walk thru John Steinbeck Cannery Row warehouse mystique into F. Scott Fitzgerald hospitality of this outdoor conclave of firepits and heaters. Escape the rustle and bustle of tourism deep within the cataclysm of Fisherman's Wharf as you sip deep bodied wines from Napa Valley in this unbeknownst hideaway in San Francisco. The food was...well...less than spectacular. Go for the comfort and the wine. Calamari was light and perfectly done. French fries were bland, and oysters were the cheap Blue Point variety that are difficult to shove down your throat. I won't lie. The other reviews are directly on point. Wait staff came to take our initial order and basically nothing else. I went inside for follow up orders, but we were otherwise on our own outside. I was fine with that as I chatted with my lover. Just meant I got to chat with wait staff inside when it was time for the next round. So, if you're looking for a quiet place to get away into the warmth and stare in your lover's eye, this is your spot. If you're a foodie, well, keep looking. Hope you rise above your snobbery an give this place a try. Happy hunting.

Cheryl R.

Yelp
Excellent from start to finish. Attentive service and generous portions of well prepared dishes. The restaurant seems new and fresh, with a nautical theme carried over from the Argonaut Hotel. We were guests at the hotel and had breakfast here. We were very pleased with our experience and we are picky.

Marilyn V.

Yelp
Was craving for seafood and something light for lunch today. After visiting the Museum of the Eye, we walked across and down the Del Monte cannery building. The Blue Mermaid caught my eye. I ordered a DungenessCrab Louie salad $17 - lumpy crab tucked on one side of the plentiful salad was heavenly. Hubby got a Fish and Chips $20 - 3 pcs of average size fish. While batter is not too thick, a bit oily as expected, delicious though. Son ordered Crispy Fish Sandwich $19 - similar in taste as fish and chips. Service is good and quick. We were heading to the airport after and the waiter catered in a timely manner. What threw me off was waiter asked for our credit card PIN no. and I thought that wasn't a common practice. When asked why, he explained that the wired terminal is at the bar, so that we don't have to walk over. He assured us it's safe. Oh well...

Emily E.

Yelp
I loved coming here for my birthday, the food was immaculate. My boyfriend and I enjoyed every bite and sip of some tasty wine. The server approached us about a wine we had selected that they ran out of so he brought us a wine bottle that was a bit more pricey but gave us the price of the wine bottle we selected in the first place. We appreciated that. (:

Regina C.

Yelp
Blue Mermaid being next to the Arganaut was the best decision they could have possibly made. The service was quick and easy. The food was delicious and got you wanting more. We got the crab dip for one afternoon and lemon ricotta pancakes in the morning! Really delicious and would definitely come by again when in the area.

Yelp
Solid ; had to find a breakfeast spot before our tour and this was it . Attached to very nice hotel ; we got super quick service , and all was well . Was a little thrown off by getting charged 5 dollars for coffee but guess it comes with the location . Good eats
