"A mainstay in North County, Blue Ribbon was an early practitioner of California’s now-signature style of pizza topped with seasonal ingredients. The wood-fired pie shop is the brainchild of chef Wade Hageman, who opened the pizzeria in 2010 after a career in fine dining. The exposed wood beams on the ceiling and brick-lined bar give the spot a homey, relaxed vibe." - Darlene Horn, Candice Woo

The pizza was looked nice and was decent. However, I wholeheartedly agree with the cost/value situation of these pizzas. Maybe it’s because I am from the east coast but $24 for a 12” pie with underdone crust is insane. The mozzarella sticks, $14, were absolutely gorgeous, but the ooey gooey stretchy filling was sacrificed for the sake of its beautiful, in-retrospect-slightly-overdone dark golden crust. 3 of them were completely hollow, with only a trace of mozzarella left. However, the staff was very kind, clearly hustling, and I didn’t have to wait too long.

Google
Great place to get brick oven wood fired pizzas! Amazing selection and variety of options. Loved their appetizers as well - risotto balls with prosciutto and parmesan cheese, and fried ravioli with ricotta cheese. Their beer selection was great as well - a lot of nice local beer on draft. Loved the Choco porter :) and the dessert, butterscotch pudding, is to die for!!! If you are ever in the Encinitas area and love pizza do try, and you won't be disappointed!!!

Google
We had just attended a graduation and were looking for a pizza place nearby. Blue Ribbon came up in my Google search and was highly rated. We were pleased to immediately find parking. While waiting just a few minutes to be seated, we were warmly greeted by everyone that walked pass us. They have a heated patio and covered patio, in addition to the indoor space. We opted for the covered patio for more space. It was a chilly evening, but we were plenty warm with the standing heater by the table. We ordered the truffle popcorn (insanely delicious), the pear and prosciutto salad, a cheese pizza and the My Father’s pizza. It was all great! Everyone at the table was satisfied. My 7 year old also rated it 5 stars. We wanted to have ice cream for dessert and they kindly pointed us to an ice cream shop a few doors away.

Google
It’s a good, solid pizza place that serves consistently tasty pies and great appetizers. They also have a good beer selection. I’ve been here 4-5 times and always have a nice time and enjoy the food. Unfortunately, a couple things happened on my last visit that were negative. First, the hostess claimed they had no reservations when I had clearly made one and confirmed it via the restaurant website. Second, they seated my friends and I at a slanted table. Because of this, two glasses slid off and shattered over the course of the meal. They ready should not have a table there at all.

Google
Food was amazing, service was quick, the crust on these pizzas was amazing, and each one uniquely delicious. The pesto chicken is a must try, kings pizza is also very very good

Google
I enjoyed the open air atmosphere of this place. It has a very relaxing vibe. They also have a dog area if you want to bring your pooch. Our server's name was Dominic who made us feel welcomed. The pizza was so good, we had to take an extra one home.

Google
New Yorker chiming in. I grew up 5 minutes away from the best pizza I’ve ever had. How does this compare? Service The staff here are so kind and knowledgeable. Our waiter had recommendations when we needed them. Atmosphere Lots of seating, especially outdoors. Kind of like a bar type atmosphere. Food Buckle up and bring your favorite pizza partner like I did. We got the Staff’s Favorite and the East Coast. The Staff’s Favorite was also my favorite. By that logic, you’d think I’m part of the staff but that is simply not true. I do not work at Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizzeria. Anyway, the sausage and the creamy sauce paired nicely. The East Coast was really good too. Overall, some of the best pizza I’ve had on the west coast. Dessert This one gets its own section. It’s pretty bold to put all your eggs in one basket and only serve one thing for dessert, but I can see why they do it. The butterscotch pudding is incredible. Light, custardy, not-too-sweet. The sea salt adds a nice depth to the flavor. I’d go back for the butterscotch pudding alone. Would I recommend? YES. Do it.

Google
The Cacio e Pepe pizza is the best pizza for me. The food here is 5 star quality and flavor. The Chef/Owner and staff are great people and take care of us every time. My favorite restaurant. Never disappointed.

Yelp
Eight of us for lunch. Assigned a large table on patio which was comfortable and ample room. Setups were real forks and knives with cloth napkins, a big plus for a pizza place. It did need a more complete cleaning from the previous diners. Ordered two salads Caesar Salad and Baby Greens. Fresh ingredients a great taste to both. Five pizzas: Blue Ribbon Extra, Signature Lemon, Staffs Favorite, King's Pie, and a Cheesey Garlic Bread Pizza The Lemon pizza did have a faint lemon favor, King's Pie was covered with meat and the Cheesey Garlic Bread Pizza was as its name. The pizzas were a decent size, delightful thin crust cooked old world style with the artisan wood fire flavor. Server Brenden did a great job taking care of us and the rest of the patio which was to capacity. Restroom was clean and a single to serve both genders-creating a queue. Lumberyard's public restroom handled the overflow. Overall an excellent way to have lunch on 101.

Yelp
This place was absolutely delicious. They have gluten-free option pizzas, and the dough is fermented. I was overjoyed when I learned that! The food itself is balanced enough that it would easily fill you but light enough that you won't get that greasy heavy feeling. The employees are always prompt and friendly as to be expected in Encinitas. There's not a whole lot of seating, but they do have a lower patio with heaters if necessary where you could bring your dogs (with well-behaved owners). Just bring citronella or bug spray as it is outdoors, or indoors with all the doors open so there can be rampant mosquitoes in the summer months. The price does land on the higher end, so expect to pay $20-30 per pizza because it's truly handmade with quality ingredients. One of my favorite splurges for sure.

Yelp
Best wood fired pizza. Salads are fresh and flavorful. Great wine list and always wonderful service. 10 out of 10 would recommend

Yelp
Had to ask for waiter to come to the table to take our order. My husband's salad was ok. No problems except the hazelnuts tasted rancid. I ordered a chopped salad and came with pepperoni on it which i didn't see on the menu. Salad was not chopped. Asked the waitress for a CHOPPED salad. She didn't know what that meant. Ordered it again and came not chopped without pepperoncini. Dressing on the side. Just a basic salad for$15.00? Please. Told her didn't want it and they charged us anyway!!! Worst service as i had to keep getting up to get her. Every other restaurant when there is a problem the manager takes care of it. The customer is always right. They don't charge for something they don't get.

Romina T.

Yelp
Stoped by this pizza spot while shopping with the girls. They got a pepperoni pizza and mozzarella sticks. They loved it. The pizza came and mozzarella sticks came out quickly. The mozzarella sticks were perfectly crispy and cheesy on the inside. The pizza was light and crispy crust and good toppings! The staff were so friendly and attentive! We sat outdoors in the covered patio which was nice!

Yelp
We arrived in the late afternoon on a Saturday and it was almost empty. I've been in the past where there has been a long wait so I was happy that wasn't the case. We were greeted and seated quickly. The menu has a lot of great sounding choices so it was hard to decide. We opted for the hot honey pizza. The server advised it was spicy, which we were happy about. When the pizza arrived it looked good except instead of being drizzled with hot honey it was drenched. Also, there wasn't much pepperoni on it, at least one slice had none. I eat hot honey on my pizzas when I see it on a menu so I expect it to be spicy hot. This was not hot, it had a tiny bit of spice, disappointingly. My spice tolerance is not very high so that wasn't the problem. It was a sweet pepperoni pizza for the most part. I haven't been to blue ribbon in a while but I always enjoyed their pizza, so I'm not sure what changed or if they were just having an off day. Service was great though and our water was kept filled.

Marie J.

Yelp
We come here every time on our drive back from San Diego. The food is always good, and the waitstaff are pleasant and efficient. This time, however, the waitress was curt, and it took a long time for the food to arrive. They no longer make our fave pizza. The waitress didn't even make any kind of suggestion. She acted as if she couldn't have cared less. I also had to ask for a glass for my soda. Maybe they were having an off day.

Andrea R.

Yelp
Adding to my list of fave pizza spots for sure! Plenty of options on the menu that it can be a little overwhelming, but the staff is very friendly and willing to help with suggestions and answer any questions. A lowkey casual atmosphere ideal for gathering with high quality friends over a good time and delicious food/drinks--we totally see why it's a local fave! Split the Classic Caesar salad and the Red Oak Pizza and felt it was the perfect portions for a light shared dinner. Although I do think I'd be able to eat a whole pizza on my own if I were hungry enough. Would love to come back to try more pizzas!

Andrew G.

Yelp
Cool little artisan wood fired pizza place. I came for a date with my daughter. They have a nice patio and I liked the music they were playing. Service was good and I thought the price was fair. I enjoyed the Rosa pizza and my daughter liked her pepperoni pizza. She wants to come back with the rest of the family.

Setareh F.

Yelp
I really liked the food here! Very helpful staff and service. The ambiance could use a little update- some areas feel like a dark dungeon. To start, we got the beet salad. I usually don't like goat cheese but this one they used was actually delicious. I enjoyed the dressing but it seemed like there just was not enough beets on it. We got the hot honey pizza and added pineapple/ super good and really high quality ingredients. I like that they have non-alcoholic beer. Con is that they only have soda in cans. Any pizza Place should at least have a fountain but that's just my opinion. Overall, I would return and hopefully try more of their items.

Mai W.

Yelp
Decent pizza place, I wouldn't say the BEST though. I opted for this place instead of another as they had other menu items other than pizza that I can have (like a salad) We had: -Pear & prosciutto salad (it was OK, nothing mind blowing, and I feel like the prosciutto slices were very thick and dry) -Crispy ravioli (it was just OK too, some fried stuff with marinara) -Cheesy garlic pizza (basically just a fancier cheese pizza) -angel's Hawaiian (we subbed it for sausage as I really prefer that to Canadian bacon, decent as well It was good just not thrillllling pizza. We ordered the Butterscotch pudding for dessert but it just wasn't what I expected. It was OVERLY sweet and a bit too thick. I was expecting a better budino like I've had elsewhere. Server was nice, but she just forgot my focaccia bread and our Diet Coke :P

Yelp
We've been coming to this restaurant regularly for the past 5 years. It's definitely one of our favorite local spots. We've pretty much had everything on the menu over the years and never disappointed. Last few visits, our wonderful server was Peter H. Peter is always welcoming, helpful and attentive. It's always a pleasure interacting with Peter. My husband, I and our pup enjoy our Friday afternoon late lunches at Blue Ribbon Pizzeria. The pizzas are made just as well as my favorite Pizzerias in Napoli (Italy). The salads are perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients and delicious dressings. Yesterday, we ordered... Hazy IPA Sangria Beet salad Signature pizza It's the perfect portion for my husband and I to share the salad with pizza. It's filling without making you feel stuffed. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and come to this restaurant. There is a great seating area outside and a more cozy area inside with televisions to catch games.

Casey S.

Yelp
Peter out on the deck was phenomenal! A client treated me to Blue Ribbon for my birthday and Peter went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. They made room for me and my client's pup outside in a comfy corner. Can't wait to go back!!

Jojo P.

Yelp
Happy hour right now...and you're stuck in traffic. Just make that detour and enjoy the ocean breeze, the super cool 70's rock 'n roll, the Blue Ribbon Boyz serving you and Chef Wade's amazing and delicious pizza.

Joriene M.

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Blue Ribbon Artisan Pizza in Encinitas has a great happy hour! Their pizza has the perfect cheese to sauce ratio and a generous amount of pepperoni. It's just a little pricey, even with the happy hour discount. Experience (4/5 stars): * Price: a little pricey, but recommend trying during happy hour! * Wait Time: minimal for a party of 2 on a Friday during happy hour * Service: good * Parking: there's a parking lot * Ambiance: it's a modern, cozy restaurant

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday @ 11:45 am had no problem sitting down in a comfortable spot. Service was quick attentive and nice. We ordered the meatballs, one wine, one beer, one watermelon juice and my fathers pizza. Total $67 + tip. Good food and wine/beer selection but pricy like most quality places these days.

Alex S.

Yelp
Blue Ribbon is one of my favorite places. The quality of their food is top notch. Everything is made with the best ingredients. I guess if you want a cheap pizza filled with seed oils this isn't the place for you. Angel makes the best pizzas and everything else on the menu is excellent as well. Along with this, the service is top notch. Everyone is very friendly. If you haven't been here come check it out.

Yelp
I want to start off with reviewing the staff that works here.. because -to me- that can make the experience of dining out worth it if the food isn't the b e s t. We came on a Friday evening around 6, fairly crowded but open tables outside (they have space heaters though). We add our name to the list about 30-45 min wait. Walked inside to use the restroom and saw the pizza oven and decided it would be worth the wait. Around 730, we go up to the hostess stand and ask where we are on the wait.. the hostess says "oh, we didn't know where to seat you guys with the two strollers so that's why we didn't call you" What??? We ~naively~ decided to stay and said we could sit outside as long as the heaters were turned on. Because at this point we've been waiting for over an hour and are h u n g r y. Sit down... waiter comes straight up and recommends a great wine. We get over the hostess mishap and get excited for the pizza, priced at $20 a pizza we decide it HAS to be GREAT, right? .... NO, it's not. Our pizza is brought out to us by the hostess? (Where is our server?) and it's severely lacking in any kind of flavor whatsoever.. when you're priced at $20 a piece I expect SOMETHING, but there was nothing, it just left you wanting more. Our bill was over 170$ for a bottle of wine and four pizzas and we were treated like we were a hassle because we brought along two children with us to eat. Keep in mind this is not a fancy pizza place by any means... I saw another review compare it to URBN or CA pizza kitchen and honestly I feel like those places are better because at least the service isn't severely lacking.. our server showed up 1 time to the table and that was to bring our drinks. We asked to speak to the manager (I know... I'm that person) and another (very kind) server came up and explained the manager wasn't talking to people??? but she'd be willing to help out with whatever we needed for the rest of our time there. She brought us free butterscotch desserts at the end which is a nice touch, but it wasn't enough. This restaurant really, really, really HAS to teach their hostess/servers to CARE for customers and what their experience will be because that's what keeps your doors open... Super long rant but I just hope the owner sees this and does something in regards to the way his employees are running the business.. I'd be so disappointed to find out what was happening if it was mine.

Heather N.

Yelp
Cute local pizza place in a strip mall. seating inside at the bar or in a covered patio area. Ordered the tomato mozzarella bruschetta the bread was amazing could use some more mozzarella and maybe more pesto drizzle but otherwise really good. Orders 2 pizzas the Blanca and Hawaiian. The Blanca was my favorite the flavors going on in this pizza was so good. Their crust is so good just like the bread. Service was great attentive and friendly.

ashton z.

Yelp
The price for this pizza is ridiculous. I paid $25 for basically a small personal pizza. I purchased the pizza based on the servers recommendation and it wasn't great. The pizza was cold upon pick up. I don't recommend.

M H.

Yelp
This used to be my all time favorite. Do I attribute all restaurant decline to our current economic situation? Maybe?? So I have ordered take out from this place 3 times in the last 3 months. And last night will be the last for a while. Ordered 'The Father" asked to not have pepperoni, and substitute extra sausage. Reasonable request. What I got was "sausage crumble" - not sure you can call it Sausage. it was like a dusting of sausage crumbs. Not round whole bits of sausage, that I was expecting. Even Domino's has a better sausage presentation. Perhaps their meat is not comparable - but I was truly hoping for a presentation of quality sausage. It was "unremarkable". And yes at $26 for an 11" Pizza Pie, I expect more. And am eating leftover, cause I had nothing else in fridge today.

Jake K.

Yelp
I visited this place with the fellas specifically for their butterscotch dessert. I got a sweet tooth no doubt... This my experience: The fellas (and lady) and I walked in, and were greeted immediately by some friendly staff A+ Our double order of butterscotch was ready in a timely manner A+ upon arrival of the butterscotch, first thought: disappointment. 10 bucks got me a 1/4th full cup worth of butterscotch. after first bite: AMAZING. GREAT BUTTERSCOTCH. FO REAL THIS WAS BOMB. FINAL THOUGHTS: service/taste was KILLER. IT WAS PRETTY DANG GOOD. However, the quantity was SO disappointing. For $14 you can get a butterscotch pudding from the luxurious Baltaire steakhouse in Brentwood (Los Angeles) that is 3x the size and even more delish. If you're a butterscotch freak like me, this Blue Ribbon Is probably worth checking out, but the price/quantity proportion is disappointing. P.S. I attached a photo of Baltaires butterscotch which, again, was $14. Only 4 dollars more than Blue Ribbon in essentially the beverly hills ~area~.

Lola Z.

Yelp
One of my favorite pizza joints. Chill atmosphere, friendly service and great food. My go-tos are the My Father's pizza (red sauce. Fresh mozzarella, Italian sausage, pepperoni and red onions), BLT salad, fried Brussels sprouts, and the roasted organic beet salad. Nice beer and wines too. Private and street parking. There are lots of others places in the same complex to grab something sweet afterwards. Ahem, run to Broad Street Dough Co. All made to order specialty donuts. Tip: the Churro Bites are out of this world! You're welcome. :)

Peter T.

Yelp
A more casual upper-class pizza eatery meant to compete with north italia, pizza calabria, urbn. While the restaurant and food is nice, I'd say quality and vibe wise it's more aligned with Sammy's and California Pizza Kitchen. The pizza to me was disappointing. This restaurant came highly recommended. The crust was flimsy and the cheese was melty. Stronger standup crusts and more pure toppings is preferred. I will say the crust was tasty. The standout item was the deviled eggs. Very nicely executed. 2 bites, my insatiable hunger was quickly and pleasantly satisfied. We came in on a Sunday for lunch around 1 pm. There were so many open tables. Guess it's empty when it's not tourist season. Server was a bit delayed but a very nice dude and attentive when the time called.

Chrissy C.

Yelp
Held my Galentine's Day dinner here. We had a group of 6 and that was super easy for them to accommodate. We actually showed up an hour earlier than expected (we had a candle making experience down the street), and they were able to still sit us no problem. So grateful for that! Food was overall great! We ordered a variety of pizzas, salads, & appetizers. Don't think we ordered one thing we didn't like or that didn't get devoured instantly haha! They were also sweet enough to hold our cake in the fridge until the end. Would definitely recommend to others & looking forward to coming back!

Terry ..

Yelp
Everything is good. Food and service. Very weak thought out beer and wine menu. Friendly staff. I cannot recommend them enough.

Aaron W.

Yelp
I'm giving 2 stars based on the pizza. It's probably the best in town. Ambiance is great but staff is horrible. Called in 2 pizzas at 7 they say 30 Mins. I show up at 7:30 and hostess says she will be right with me. She's cleaning tables. Taking orders etc for 10 mins before coming back to say how can I help. I'm like I have a to go order. She now goes to the bar. Starts chatting with people. Pouring drinks so finally I come in. I'm like yo I've been here 15 mins now. Can I grab my pizza and go. She rudely charges my card and I wait even more. I ask the pizza maker if he's made my pies. He doesn't speak English .I think he's an illegal. I wait. And wait and wait. Finally they figure out my pizzas had been done since 7:30 and literally sitting 4 feet from me. I ask manager to hook me up with something. He throws me an ipa , I slam it and leave. Pissed. I won't be back.

Michael W.

Yelp
They have recently updated the menu with lots of new tasty items. This is our families favorite restaurant. Delicious food, beverages and friendly people with fun outdoor patios, what's not to love?

Brandi P.

Yelp
We went for the live music during the Classic Car Nights on Thursday. We have had the pizza and garlic bread from Blue Ribbon before and it was quite tasty. We usually order food to go so we can sit in the courtyard and watch the bands play. From time of walk up to order and receiving food turn around time was about 20 minutes (it was fairly busy so this didn't seem too bad). Last visit we just got beer and wine to go. The staff was friendly and very attentive between the to go line and those in the restaurant. I even went back to grab another glass of wine later in the evening and the employee remembered what I had ordered previously. I was pretty impressed with the amount of people that were there. Nice place, I hear they have a good happy hour too. Plenty of seating at the bar and indoor as well as lots of patio seating.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Our server, Matthew, was amazing! Very attentive and made great recommendations for both food and wine. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and explained how everything was prepared. I am gluten sensitive and he made sure they changed the oil before they made my brussels sprouts. He really went the extra mile and made our experience very enjoyable!

Ryan M.

Yelp
Love this place. Great pizza. Great service. Great area. Might be my new favorite north county pizza spot.

Jami W.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday evening during the normal dinner rush. However, we got a table for 4 pretty quickly. We ordered a Caesar salad, mozzarella garlic bread, meatballs, and The King's Pie. Surprisingly, the food came out quickly despite how busy they were. I'm sorry I didn't get any pictures because everything was amazing!!! The meatballs were tender and the marinara was extremely flavorful. The bread had the perfect amount of garlic and mozzarella. The pizza is wood fired and cooked to perfection. I would definitely return here!

Tiffany W.

Yelp
This was a surprise find...we stumbled in for lunch on a Saturday and were sold when they said they offered a GLUTEN FREE CRUST - yay! It seemed more like a New York style than we normally order, but the pizza was delish and perfectly sized for lunch for two. The server asked if we wanted a butterscotch pudding for dessert...we did not know that it was their specialty, so it seemed a little random but also good, so we ordered one to share. WOW! It was the bomb! The server even said it was "the blue ribbon treatment." (Yes!!!) I'm very glad that we did not know the price was $10 upfront. But I'd do it again in a heartbeat; it was pure heaven. Yum!

Trish S.

Yelp
Butterscotch pudding. It's a distinct dessert - and one of my absolute favs. Folks like to top it with caramel and sea salt these days and I am HERE for it! Was it my motivator for most of my visits to Blue Ribbon over the years? Maybe. Okay yes, yes it was. BUT this beloved locals joint is also a lovely place to bring the family for tasty pizza - and their pies are kissed by the flames of their wood fire oven and approved by my three year old. Service is and has always been stellar. Even the salads are good. I like to order dessert first though. They do have a nice list of other appetizers, but butterscotch pudding as a palate teaser? Don't knock it till you try it. I would call this "higher end" in terms of price and quality - and if in Encinitas it's my preferred spot to bring the fam for a bite. Can get busy, they DO take reservations. Indoor and outdoor seating. And pudding. Butterscotch pudding.

Bob B.

Yelp
Pizza was excellent. Requested parmesan never appeared! Crunchy ravioli was a show stopper! Only the service could have been better. One bathroom long line! It's car show day so there was that. House Cabernet was very good!

Madeline R.

Yelp
After a movie, my daughter and I came in near closing over Memorial day weekend. We were promptly seated, and even though I am sure the staff wanted to get outta work, they were incredibly friendly and helpful. We got the fried ravioli and the lemon basil pizza. Both dishes were really good and tasty, and large enough for two women. We each got a glass of red wine, ( I wish I could remember the name), both were delicious. Although we really enjoyed everything, the bill with tip was pretty steep making this place a every once in a while place.

Sandra C.

Yelp
We've been looking for good wood fired pizza and we found it! It was SO good and the service was good too. We had the Mexican Caesar salad and the pudding and WOW! We will be back!

J B.

Yelp
This place really needs to educate their cook at the pizza oven on proper hygiene. No gloves, no hat, playing with his phone and AirPods in his ear, while handling the food. It's disgusting. I tried to call and speak to the manager and was hung up on (purposely, no accident) by the person answering the phone. What happened to this fine restaurant that we've been dining at since it opened? I will not be back until I am sure that the staff is using proper sanitation when preparing the food.

Justin T.

Yelp
I was hoping to be super impressed, that wasn't the case. All pizza is pretty good but all pizza is good, I'm in search of great pizza & to me it's not here. It's a cool place & the service was good. The Kings Pie was my favorite of the three pizzas I tried. The crust is very thin & not crunchy- more on the soggy side. I'm pretty picky when it comes to pizza so others may be more impressed, the place was pretty packed. They have indoor & outdoor seating. If you have a decent appetite you can probably eat a whole pizza. Pizza cost about $20 each. Again this isn't a bad place to go, it just didn't impress me. You can tell they are trying but it's not for me. Happy eating !!

Kelly M.

Yelp
This place was great! I went for a quick lunch after work today and first of all - the waitress that was working today (8/20/22) was amazing. We talked about their imported german beer which the waitress - I'm so sorry I didn't catch her name! I remember it sounded vaguely french? - described as life changing and... it was. I've never had a beer that smooth. I had the Blue Ribbon pizza and it was also delicious! Their huge selection of pizzas means there's something for everyone! I'm pretty picky with my pizzas (it's a fault lol) but their simple marghertia pie was so good, I can't imagine what their more speciality pizzas are like! I'm mostly posting the review because the waitress was so great! Lovely.

Yelp
I made a reservation on Open Table but it wasn't necessary. We sat outside, and watched the rain fall. The staff was friendly and the pizza was phenomenal!! The pineapple was fresh and grilled with the smokey flavor from the fire. Their gluten free crust was thin and crispy and had a hint of gluten free but the toppings were a compliment and a complete distraction from the crust. The sauce was tangy and tomatoe-y. The other pizza was regular crust and light and fluffy. They have Italian Cream sodas that are delicious as well. Their staff was attentive and the pizzas came out quickly. We will definitely go back and try other things. I highly recommend them!!

Yelp
We had the lower patio to ourselves on New Year's Eve as it was a lot less busy than we expected. Staff was super kind bringing an extra glass even though we only ordered one soda (great cream soda here btw). Lots of great seating here and a friendly atmosphere. This is one of our favorite spots in Encinitas, always very easy parking in the large lot as well. Favorite pizza is the Americana, they also have great salads and surprisingly tasty free bread. Make sure to get the butterscotch dessert!

Yelp
Blue Ribbon is a great spot for happy hour with decently priced drinks, bites and something for everyone to share. My family loves pizza but wasn't super hungry, so we got a couple of orders of bruschetta and two pizzas for the table of 5 to share. It was the perfect amount of food to tie us over for a few hours while we showed them around North County. Their butterscotch lattes and butterscotch pudding is quite good as well. The hubby and I have ordered both on separate occasions and haven't been disappointed.

Yelp
Came here last night for some pizza. Started off with the crispy ravioli. Which were good. Nothing great about it. My husband got My fathers pizza, i got the East Coast pizza, both were good, his came out 5 min before mine. But that's ok. They came out soooooo hot. And honestly mine looked a mess. But it was good. I will say this place is pricey for what you get. 2 small pizzas and an app, just water $60 - phew, crazy! Menu is a good size, definitely a lot of options. Just a little overpriced in my opinion.

Yelp
Mid! Mid! Mid! So overpriced for the quality of product. The sauce is bland and lacks seasoning. The crust is burnt and always over done and bland. Trying to be real Italian but lacking the building blocks and integrity.

Yelp
Parking lot (a huge plus in an area wheel street parking is hard to come by). Plenty of patio seating with heaters. We made a 5:15 reservation on a Saturday night and there were plenty of seats available when we got there, but it was far more full by the time we left. Service was average...nothing special, but timely and friendly. Casual ambiance befitting a pizzeria. Pizzas were decent. I ordered a white pizza with lemon EVOO and I liked the flavor overall but I wasn't a huge fan of the mozzarella they used...it felt slightly rubbery. My kiddos were happy with their pizzas though, which is always a win because they're picky.

Yelp
Food: This buzzing spot in Encinitas has pizza, beer, wine, salad, and their butterscotch pudding. My husband and I have eaten here a couple of times - once for takeout and once to dine in. The Signature pizza with lemon extra virgin olive oil, fresh mozzarella, ricotta, Parmigiano Reggiano, lemon zest, red onion, and basil is really tasty - great crust and a unique flavor. Kind of random, but we actually came here on our wedding day for some wedding night pizza. Good times. Service: Service is friendly. Willing to answer questions, give recommendations. Final Thoughts: We enjoy the pizza and brews. Just a nice spot by the 101 for some pizza. Solid outdoor setup. We'll be back, and maybe for our anniversary too!

Yelp
That butterscotch pudding is divineeeeeeee. I'm so in love. Their pizza is excellent also! Love sitting in the back by the pizza oven, always good service and cold beer. What more could you want?!

Yelp
We always enjoy our meals here at Blue Ribbon. The staff are always friendly, attentive and efficient. Terrific pizzas made in wood burning oven. Coke comes in an old school glass bottle. And the Brussels sprouts are great! Parking right out front. Warm heaters for these slightly chilly and rainy nights. And they have a nice selection of beer and wine!
