The Best Restaurants in Fidi, According to Eater Editors | Eater NY

"Open for lunch and dinner, this reliable crowd-pleaser in the Howell Hotel offers a sushi selection that differentiates between Pacific and Atlantic catches, platters like a sushi deluxe for around $50, or a full-on omakase for $150. If sushi is not your thing, there are more than a dozen options for vegetable rolls and salads, as well as wagyu, hanger steak, and items like oxtail fried rice." - Eater Staff

Google
Reasonably priced, consistently fresh, and generously portioned—this poke and sushi spot is a go-to for balanced, flavorful meals. For around $22, you get a base, two proteins, and two veggies, with a variety of toppings available for a small extra charge. I’ve eaten here several days in a row without getting bored. Today, I accidentally spilled my food, and the staff couldn’t have been kinder—they remade my exact bowl, down to the toppings, completely free of charge. That kind of care and hospitality is rare. Highly, highly recommend if you’re looking for something clean, filling, quick, and delicious!

Google
A zen counter sushi lunch experience amidst a sea of chaotic lunch crowd. Our server was efficient and friendly. The eggplant and shiitake mushroom appetizer was delicious with a kick of hot sauce. The specialty rolls were perfect - clean, delicious and just right for lunch.

Larry Lim

Google
Located within Hudson Eats but has own dine-in area. Service manager is attentive and friendly. The happy hour deal is great, fresh seafood, sushi rice temperature just nice, variety of seafood is reasonable good.

ppisano

Google
Shinkflation in action! I’ve been at a number of Blue Ribbon restaurants in NYC and appreciate the general consistency and reasonable food quality. But lately it seems like portions are increasingly smaller, for the same price. Got the tuna Donbury and it had 4 meager slices of tuna over a lot of rice.

Beau Kim

Google
Paid over $20 for 5 slices of salmon on a bowl of rice. It’s ridiculous. Don’t waste your money or time here.

Hoiping Ngo

Google
I picked up the Make your own Poke bowl, the portions are generous and fresh. I chose white rice, Tuna, & shrimp, tofu salad and seaweed.

Eleonora

Google
Some of the freshest sea urchins I've had. Blue Ribbon Sushi never disappoints with their unparalleled freshness, and I wholeheartedly recommend it for anyone looking for an effortless, high-quality meal.

Sanlee

Google
Most pathetic sashimi donburi I have ever had. Five slices of salmon, a sprinkle of pickles and probably half a pound of rice for $21. I love sushi and will make the extra effort for excellent sushi but this was just shameful. Their poké bowl is a better option with better portioned fish and toppings, also at $21, pricy for a poke bowl.

Yelp
Delicious Sushi + Great Vibes at Hudson Eats! Had lunch today at Google Edamame and it was fantastic! We ordered: Edamame - fresh and perfectly salted Eel on White Rice - rich, flavorful, and comforting California Rolls - classic, creamy, and super fresh House Salad with Ginger Dressing - light and refreshing SUSHI & MAKI COMBO - generous portions, beautifully presented, and delicious My niece absolutely loves this place, so we keep coming back--and I totally get why. The sushi is consistently fresh, the staff are always polite, helpful, and thoughtful, and there's plenty of space to sit and enjoy your meal at Hudson Eats. This is my go-to spot when I have friends over. If you're into sushi, you won't go wrong here. It's also one of my sister's and niece's favorite places to eat, which says a lot! Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving sushi.

Yelp
The sushi at Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar at Hudson Eats was not bad. This location is a food court, and you can sit at a table that overlooks the water. We came in the evening and there was no line. We ordered the 8-piece sashimi ($29), Salmon Ikura roll ($17), and the Sakana Sanshu roll ($15). It took awhile for the food to be made, and we picked up the tray of food from the front counter. The sashimi plate looked and tasted pretty standard. It was good, but small. The rolls came with six pieces each. The Salmon Ikura roll and the Sakana Sanshu were good. The Sakana Sanshu had tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and green onions. The food court is spacious and enjoyable to dine in, especially if you can get a nice table by the window. The view is pretty, but it's hard to get a table by the window because they are usually the first to go. The sashimi was not bad and the rolls were good.

Yelp
After returning to my downtown office in Tribeca (post - pandemic) I have been meaning to return to the Hudson Eats food court. Today I had a craving for Salmon Poké bowl and Blue Ribbon Sushi did not disappoint. The silky chunks of Salmon were already marinated, but very fresh. There were many toppings to choose from. I chose seaweed salad with fresh chunks of avocado. Very happy here. Business is booming and downtown is back to normal. Will return! :)

Yelp
My coworker suggested this place for lunch, and the crave for sushi in me of course could not resist! The lines in Hudson Eats are always congested during lunch hours, so we ordered through the app and picked up when it was ready in around 10-15 minutes. There's a pick up section to the left, so the whole process was very seamless. I got the 2 Rolls ($19), in which I picked Yellowtail Scallion & a Salmon Avocado Roll. Soy sauce and wasabi packets were provided separately, with a mini sauce tray to accompany them. The rolls were good to me, although different from ones I've had before. Here, their rice is different and you can taste every individual grain of rice. The Salmon was fresh, and they give plump pieces. I was most intrigued by the Yellowtail roll, as the extra scallion flavor in this reminded me of the delicious scallion poke I had in Hawaii. The Yellowtail was a great fragrant complement to the sweet creamier Salmon Avocado. There weren't a lot of rolls to choose from, so I'd say these are the best bang-for-your-buck picks! I was surprised to be full by these seemingly small portion sized sushi. If it wasn't for the price, I'd say this is a delicious convenient food option in Brookfield Place whenever you're feeling sushi.

Yelp
Considering that I work around Brookfield mall and was craving for a poke bowl, I decided to give this spot a try. The line is not long and they provide a chef table service. I decided to do the to go sushi and sit at the tables alongside of the place. The poke bowls consists of two proteins and two vegetables options, there are additional side items you can select for additional charges. (Half and egg for $1 that's just robbing ppl) I got the salmon and tuna with eggplant/mushrooms and seaweed. The portion of fish they give is reasonable and it's very tasty and FRESH! The fish is seasoned with soy sauce already. Then you mix in with your two side veggies which are also seasoned with sauces. In the end you don't need any dressings at all. I only added the spicy mayo. Overall it's good but ut us a bit pricey. Quantity to price is not well balanced. Quality of food is definitely good. As they say you pay for quality. I would come back to try out the other options.

Yelp
*HAPPY HOUR REVIEW* I've been working in the area for years but never tried Blue Ribbon because it just seemed like basic, over-priced sushi. Fast forward to 2022 - my co-worker and I decided to drop in after work one day because she told me about their $5 handroll/BOGO select beer/sake happy hour (4-7). We arrived a little after five and there were a few people there already but still spacious enough to be several seats in between us and other diners (it seems to start getting crowded after 6). The deal is $5 tuna, salmon, yellowtail, cucumber, avocado handrolls. If you want to add cucumber, avocado, or make it spicy, each customization is extra. I had the spicy yellowtail, salmon avocado, and tuna hand roll. The spicy yellowtail was definitely the best. But the sauce is kind of just drizzled on top. I wish they mixed it in before rolling. Salmon was a bit bland and tasteless. Can't go wrong with tuna, my fave. The deal is also valid for takeout so it's nice if you don't feel like cooking that night. However, handrolls are meant to be eaten fresh/immediately or else the seaweed gets soggy. While the handrolls will satisfy the sushi craving, they aren't anything too special. I also don't think it would be worth it if it was regular price. That being said, I definitely don't mind coming back here again, but only during HH.
google avatar

Mahrad M.

Yelp
I got the daily donburi which was salmon. It was ok not bad but not amazing also. Average I would say. I don't think I would come back here tho! The prices are very high I paid $23 for a bowl. And I believe you can find better spots if you're spending that much.
google avatar

Ming M.

Yelp
$5 handrolls at happy hour. A generous amount of fish in each handroll. Excellent fresh taste! Who doesn't like handrolls? And at $5 each, you can bring home a few rolls and be a hero. Love their spicy Mayo. Well, I have not won the lottery yet (see my previous review) but I would still eat here as much as I can.

Yelp
I was honestly surprised with how good this place was for a quick, affordable sushi lunch. I've picked up twice and have found that it's been really good and reasonable on both visits. I had the salmon and salmon roe bowl, unagi (eel) bowl, and salmon poke bowl. Out of all of them, I'd recommend the poke bowl. The other two bowls had quite a bit of rice compared to the fish ratio. I've had a lot of other "poke" bowls in the city for $15+ and I have yet to find one that I've liked. For $10, you can't go wrong. It isn't the largest meal, so if you're hungry you might have to order 2.
google avatar

Steve T.

Yelp
Quick place to get your sushi or poke bowl fix in the food court found in the Brookfield place. Plan ahead by ordering for pick up or avoid lunch hours because this place, along with all the other food spots are packed during the lunch hours. The poke bowls are priced at a premium and are definitely worth every penny. Their fish selections and side ingredients are fresh and pair well with each other. There is an option to sit down and be served - but it doesn't really seem like the best place to dine in because it's more of a grab and go place.
google avatar

Helen C.

Yelp
The server was nice. We ordered: CALI ROLLS- this was meh. Imitation crab was used. Tasted the rice wasn't flavored? RAINBOW ROLL- well it was California rolls covered with fish. This was a little better than the plain cali rolls CRAB ROLL- it was real crab meat but was a little dry. Wish they mixed it with a little kewpie mayo. SALMON HAND ROLL- this was my favorite. The salmon was good. YELLOW TAIL HAND ROLL- this was meh.. smelled a little fishy

Bryan P.

Yelp
Poke bowl was very nice but as usual pricey but that's NYC for you - don't buy sashimi waste of money
google avatar

Hirsch M.

Yelp
The service here is great. The lunch line for Poke Bowls is staffed with attentive and caring people. I come here for lunch often. It's the freshest Poke Bowl in the WTC area. Lunch time lines may seem long, but it moves fast. Fish is always fresh. The flavors are very potent. It can be expensive, which is understandable for the quality of the ingredients. Haven't sat down to eat sushi in the bar area yet, but everyone always looks satisfied there.
google avatar

Jacky C.

Yelp
Came here a on a few occasions when sushi was the cravings for lunch. They have ready to go sushi pre-made to pick and go. I recommend picking at least two items if you want to be full. It's pretty affordable for the area they're serving.

Yelp
I work nearby but this was my first time trying Blue Ribbon. I waited until I had a Ritual credit to dine here because the prices are so outrageous. Today I ordered the Maki Combo 1 ($19) - this came with 3 rolls, California, Yellowtail, and Tuna. The quality was great, but a combo like this shouldn't cost more than $11, especially at lunch time when most places offer special prices. I figured this wouldn't be enough food, so I also ordered the Green Tea Soba Noodles which were plain, but a nice side dish. I'd only order from here again if I had a Ritual App credit or if they had some sort of lunch special going on, but otherwise, I wouldn't spend $25 on 3 rolls and a side of noodles. Yikes!
google avatar

Yulu H.

Yelp
One of the good grab n go sushi places. I grab their bento bowl very often (it's the quickest for a quick lunch but would say not the best quality - esp for the tuna or salmon poke sometimes not as fresh after soaked into the sauce for hours). While I recently found my fav from there - the Honoo platter! Which are variety of spicy rolls. Along with a seaweed salad would be a great combo. Freshly made and good taste. If doing the bento bowl, the spicy mayo shrimp is def a go to.

Anna I.

Yelp
Excellent poke bowls, packed to the brim with fresh fish and delicious veggies. Super impressed. Knocked one star off because it is expensive for lunch, though worth every penny.
google avatar

Alexis S.

Yelp
The portions are pretty decent for how pricey it is and the food overall tastes good. I would recommend adding the option of 1/2 rice and 1/2 greens for the base similar to DIG. The worker was able to make my bowl this way, but he mentioned that it typically wouldn't be allowed
google avatar

Shaji K.

Yelp
Decided to try this spot on a Tuesday night to take advantage of the happy hour special and available seating. After sitting down, was given a menu for happy hour as well as a full digital menu on an iPad. Wasn't particularly hungry, so settled on just the Crab Hand Roll ($5). Food came out within a few minutes - a decent sized roll served alongside some ginger and wasabi. The roll was overall disappointing; meat was barely defrosted as there was nothing really to detract the flavor (tons of soy sauce helped a bit). Wasn't really expecting much from this food court offering; probably better to stick to drinks.

Arianna C.

Yelp
I went to this location yesterday. I was a little baffled by the price of the maki rolls as they were about 4 dollars more than I usually find them in my area of the city. I know the location is expensive but I didn't realize it would be as expensive as it was by the time I paid for everything. I also ordered a rice bowl. When I received the sushi, I was underwhelmed. The rice bowl had a monotone flavor. It just was a lot of rice, fish smeared on top with a few toppings. The maki rolls were similar to the experience of the rice bowl: too much rice, monotone flavor. I definitely would say go to another spot for sushi because what I got was underwhelming for the price they charge.

Chunjai K.

Yelp
This Blue Ribbon is in the mall food court on 2nd floor. It took me 10 minutes to find this location. My friend and I had sushi and Sashimi platter, habd roll and salad. Food was good and service is just ok.
google avatar

Emily C.

Yelp
This sushi spot has decent rolls but the prices are much more expensive than most places. I ordered the spicy tuna special roll, spicy crab roll, spicy scallop roll and shrimp tempura roll. The ingredients do taste as though it's of better quality. The spicy tuna special roll was just with a cucumber and not really "special". The spicy crab roll was made with real blue crab. If you are really craving sushi and don't mind the higher than average prices, then try them out.

Yelp
Came for the happy hour, stayed for the sushi. Just simply amazing. Two different experiences that reflects the spectrum of guest reviews as I dined there Friday night and Saturday Night. As we waited for seating, we were greeted by all the waiters and waitress that worked that night and the restaurant manager ensuring us the wait wont be too long. Shout out to Jocelyn, Ben and Christopher as they worked together to ensure a great dining experience. They kept the waters filled, and ensured the orders were correct before carrying on to another guest. Carlo tied it together at the end by inviting us to come back and pleasantly ushered us off as we were the last few guests to leave. We sat at the sushi bar and was able to chat with the sushi chefs as well. Saturday night, Carlo recognized our return and invited us to sit at the marbel table which had a bigger space but a shared space with other food stalls. The servers did not provide their names this time and were no Ben Chris and Jocelyn. Though service was kept to standard, it leaves plenty of room for improvement. Quality of food for both night were top notch and definitely take advantage of the happy hour drink promotion! The place is perfect for a romantic evening or a fun gathering. Cant see myself going anywhere else when I'm down by the WTC!

Yelp
The sight of fresh fish caught my attention when I walked around Hudson Eats trying to decide what to eat. I was planning to just get the sashimi donburi until I noticed a few people in front of me getting a bento bowl, which included a choice of rice or noodles, a vegetable, and a fish. Sold! I chose the green tea soba noodles, seaweed salad, and salmon poke. Yum!! It was so refreshing. The noodles were nice and cold, the seaweed salad added extra flavor to the noodles, and the poke had a nice amount of sauce and toppings. I topped it off with spicy sesame seeds. It was definitely on the pricey side at $16 plus tax, but it tasted fresh and light yet filled me up, so I think it was worth it. I'd definitely recommend this if you're looking for something filling but not too heavy as you continue to walk around New York.

Yelp
I have been a customer of the various Blue Ribbons since 2009 but decided I will never go back to this location: the sushi bar fish was stale the last few times. Dry, no luster. The salmon eggs (Ikura) today were bad. Owner take notice: there is a reason your sushi bar is always empty, and every other place around you is always packed. In fact the only business you are getting are the more reasonably priced Poke bowls to go. You have also cordoned off 3 large white tables and they are always empty, in addition to most of the very long sushi bar. Vicious circle: very few customers ordering the nigiri and hence the fish is never fresh. Complete mismatch of price to quality is why this location is mostly empty
google avatar

Jon W.

Yelp
Ok Sushi for a quick bite! I have gone here many times for their bowls and Sushi and their quality for the most part is pretty good and they are quick. You get 3 rolls for $18 I would highly suggest only getting the Salmon or Tuna because that is the fish they mostly use. I have made the mistake of getting the yellowtail and it tasted terrible it was most likely old and spoiled. The tuna and salmon rolls there however are very good and I would suggest those in the future. For a drinking standpoint they actually have a very good happy hour with 2 for 1 sake and beer. In short : - ok expensive sushi - good happy hour
google avatar

Jane L.

Yelp
It's a decent place... but I found the prices to be pretty outrageous for the quality of fish. I was really craving sushi so I ate here despite the reviews, but I should've trusted them! Also, it also seemed unprofessional for those preparing the sushi to keep looking at their phones... I mean they were crouching so that they wouldn't be seen, but since I sat at the counter I could see everything... probably will never return to this place.
google avatar

Mia M.

Yelp
Love the sushi here! I asked about vegetarian options and Lloyd was super friendly and helpful, and did a great job advising me on what to get, and I loved my sushi! Great place and very friendly employees from my experience. I'm from out of town and come back here whenever I'm in New York.

Yelp
This review is based upon only on a pick up through the Ritual app. I place my order for lunch around 11.30 pm and I am able to pick it up by 12.15 or so. They have it ready for you at the pick counter with your name. No need to ask question or speak to anyone . But when I go and pick it up I see very quick short line placing their orders. Most of the tourist and people taking their lunch breaks are sitting down and have nice lunch. I love the area specially because of the view. I only order two amazing rolls . I their spicy crabs and spicy scallop. It comes to be around $20 and it's so worth it. The ingredients taste fresh. And for sushi that's a must specially with cucumber. For me the cucumber must be crunchy. I love their Wasabi , it's fresh and amazing kick of spice. It really cuts through the freshness and bring out the robust seafood flavor.

Beeeen S.

Yelp
I have to be honest...this was rough, even for grab and go sushi. Price was good and service was great, but this was pretty bad. The Wasabi was a highlight though.
google avatar

Jessie H.

Yelp
Looks better than it tastes. Cost $17-20 I've tried 3 other pokebowl places in NYC and this place is the worst out of them. Go to Pokeworks. They do not have many toppings to pick from. You get to pick one fish, one vegetable, and one base. I got the green noodles with salmon poke and seaweed salad. Now I am feeling kind of sick. Stomachache :( For the price - not worth it. Other pokebowls are cheaper and you get more bang for your buck there ...not here.
google avatar

Kirk S.

Yelp
If you want solid, somewhat affordably-priced sushi, this place isn't bad. This is a decent sushi place in Hudson Eats, which is basically a really nice cafeteria. Despite that characterization, the sushi is surprisingly solid - it was fresh, tasty, and fairly straightforward, making it a great place for a quick bite. The chirashi bowl I had was definitely a stand out, and I'd highly recommend it.
google avatar

Pablo M.

Yelp
I was in NY for work and had a taste for sushi and this place was nearby. I walked over and it was back inside Hudsons but I found it. I sat at the sushi bar and the wait staff were fast and effective which I like. The sushi was very good quality, they just lacked in exotic variety but they did have a half price roll option during happy hour til 7PM! Great deal! I also had the miso soup which was standard but good.
google avatar

Yelp
One of the last vendors to arrive at Hudson Eats, this new casual location of Blue Ribbon Sushi is the first place here to offer full wait service with seating at the sushi bar. They also do have plenty of takeout options, which is what I tried. The main option that follows the Chipotle style of most other vendors here is the fish or veggie bowl. You start by choosing either rice (brown or white) or noodle (green tea or buckwheat soba) as the base ($4). You can then optionally add a vegetable, such as edamame or tofu salad ($6), and finally a fish - octopus, yellowtail, tuna or salmon poke ($8). I went with a white rice bowl with tofu salad and tuna poke, and it was pretty satisfying (if you order all three, you save $2 and it comes out to $16). Yeah, that is very pricey, but so are pretty much all of the options here. The rice is nice and warm, scooped out of a fresh rice cooker, while the salad and fish is cool, so it tastes great when eaten immediately to get the different temperatures before everything becomes lukewarm mush. I also tried the Sakana Maki ($7), which is a cut roll of 6 pieces filled with salmon, tuna and yellowtail. The maki and sushi to go are all premade, so it wasn't particularly fresh, but it was still a pretty tasty roll. I'm glad there is finally a healthy option at Hudson Eats that isn't salad. I will definitely come back and grab a seat at the counter to try some of the nigiri.

Yelp
Like all the other food stalls in the Hudson Eats food court, Blue Ribbon is clean and modern. In addition to the standard take-out counter, they also have a sit-down area by the sushi bar with about 10 seats and waiter service. When I came on a Monday night for a quick bite, there were just a few patrons seated at the sushi bar, but a pretty long take-out line (which thankfully, moved pretty quickly). I tried several of their menu items, and can safely say Blue Ribbon (at least this location) only does one thing well, which is the Bento Bowl. Like a bento box, the Bowl consists of multiple menu items which add up to a complete meal; the difference is the Bowl is not sectioned off into separate compartments. You choose a carb (noodles or rice, each with multiple options), a veg, and a protein (seafood, of course). You have the option of topping off your bowl with a sauce and other flavorings. The final product is much like a poke bowl; very fresh, filling, but not too heavy. The take-out sushi here is pathetic and reminiscent of supermarket sushi. I didn't realize when I ordered the 9-piece "Sushi & Maki Platter" that it would just be a pre-made box of refrigerated sadness. The fish is dried out and flavorless, and the rice is cold. The feeling of disappointment lingered when I inspected my "Kale Salad" (which, per the menu, was supposed to come with quinoa, flax seeds, and tahini miso dressing). It turned out to be no more than a bowl of dry, tough kale with a few paper-thin pieces of carrot and celery, and about a teaspoon of quinoa. And the dressing only had one note: sour.

Yelp
Randomly popped over here when we wandered around Brookfield, and we stayed for the happy hour, hand rolls, and appetizers. Prices are fair for the area but definitely can be a bit steep for the "normal crowd". The sea urchin sushi was definitely the best part. The sake is decent, and can easily be found in a Japanese market. The rolls and apps were standard. I would come back for HH and help myself to several rolls if I'm around the area but this isn't a spot I'd travel far for.
google avatar

Kenny C.

Yelp
They don't advertise them as such, but their bento bowls are basically poke bowls if you order them the right way. You choose a base, a veggie, and a fish for $15. Not terribly priced, but probably one of the more expensive meals at Hudson Eats. I did a tuna bowl with shiitake/eggplant over green tea soba noodles. The spicy sauce they gave wasn't spicy at all. I wasn't disappointed at all by the portion sizes. Definitely left full. The place also has dedicated counter seating for dining in. But if you do take away, you can sit anywhere, including a few high tops right in front. They also sell beer, sake, and Japanese drinks!
google avatar

Yelp
After going to the One World Observation, we decided to check out Brookfield Place, which was the next block over. I ordered the Sushi + Maki and a Japanese beer. The sushi and maki consisted of a small, tiny California roll and a few assorted sushi pieces. For $16 dollars, this seemed high considering this is a fast food, food court and a self serve kind of place. The beer was excellent, but extremely expensive. For a hefty $12 at a food court, it seemed like highway robbery! $30.48 later, I was hungry afterwards and had to get some more food elsewhere. Service was okay, since you wait in line, order, pay and in my case, they gave me a buzzer to notify my when my order is ready. When the buZzer activated, I had to walk up to the counter to pick up my food, or "tiny" snack. The food was in a takeout container, similar to a grocery sushi box and was on a cafeteria style tray. Even the soy sauce and sauce container were in plastic. The food was good, but nothing special. I would try another place in the food court next time around and definitely will pass on this place.

Yelp
Came here around 2pm for late lunch since I know hudson eats is very pack during the lunch time. I got the clear noodle with spicy shrimp & seaweed in a bowl for lunch. Yum! It cost $17 for a bowl. A bit pricey but so worth it. The serving is big & can be good for 2 people. Its been so long since I wanna try this place & glad I did. So satisfied with what I ordered. I didn't even finish it so I save it for my dinner. I wanna go back to try their sushi!

Yelp
Ordered from here via Caviar. Wasn't too impressed unfortunately. I got the bento box with green tea soba noodles, tuna and salmon poke, and tuna tare tare. Everything was mediocre/kind of bland to be honest. The noodles came with a sauce, which helped enhance the flavor a bit. The poke fell below expectations: the fish didn't taste incredibly fresh and flavor was again lacking. Same with the tare tare (came with soy sauce but was early tasteless by itself). There were some good parts though: I really liked the miso soup, for one. Lightly salted but quite savory. The bento box is also a good deal: you get to pick 3 different appetizers from a massive list, so points for variety. Overall a pretty underwhelming sushi/Japanese experience. It's an okay fix if you're looking for some volume but would not really recommend if you're going for something of higher quality.

Yelp
If you work in Tribeca near Brookfield, and like poke, then you need to try Blue Ribbon. Brookfield gets crazy during the lunch hours, but the Blue Ribbon poke line always moves fast. It is pricey, as is everything in Brookfield, but I have yet to have any poke better in the city, period. They offer sushi as well, and have a large seating area for people who want to sit at the sushi bar, but the poke is second to none. If you are looking to be a little indulgent, and want something that can be summed up as a personal treat, then Blue Ribbon is where you want to go for lunch.

Yelp
Went there for a happy hour with a friend with not much expectation but their food was really good. We ordered couple of happy hour hand rolls, uni, ankimo, and shrimp with mayo. Shrimp with mayo I would say was a bit mild, mediocre, nothing impressive in its taste. But their handrolls were really good! We chose tuna, salmon and yellow tail for spicy version. And they had it prepared in a perfect spicy sauce mixed with mayo and cod roe. We finished them all and had to order more! The uni and ankimo sashimi which we ordered in addition were very good as well. Served over a piece of cucumber and a leaf of a shiso, especially the uni were really good. Bit of sweetness and tender, melting in your mouth. I loved how they had two options for uni; one from alaska and on from japan, which had two different tastes.

Yelp
It's here. It's not cheap. It's fast. It hasn't given me food poisoning. It tries but at the end of the day it's food court sushi, though it is a fancy food court in a fancy mall. My biggest gripe is, they've moved from sliced fish in the rolls to chopped/mashed/scraped. I expect it for spicy-whatever rolls where the sauce get mixed in but not for say salmon-avocado.

Yelp
Friend and I came here for a quick dinner as we were both craving raw fish. We both ordered donburi - I got the Chirashi (assorted sashimi over rice $21+tax) and she ordered the Uni ikura don (sea urchin and salmon roe over rice $35+tax). The sashimi was extremely fresh and practically melted in our mouths. The portions were generous - they gave nice thick cuts of sashimi not paper thin sliced pieces of fish some other places give- over freshly cooked rice. It was surprisingly filling though I definitely wanted more sashimi since the fish was prepared so well. Overall, I will be back whenever I'm in the area again! It might seem pricey but the quality of the fish is well worth the price tag.

Yelp
I'm really into their create your own fish bowl option. For less than 20 bucks, you can get a large heaping bowl of noodles/rice, veggies, salmon/tuna. You can also go halfsies on everything, so you can get 2 types of noodles, 2 types of veggies, and both the salmon and tuna. I like the spicy soy sauce dressing to tie it all together. From 4 - 7 pm they have Happy Hour pricing - which applies to beer, sake, and hand rolls. For a casual dinner meet up with friends, I think this place is a hit!

Yelp
Do they have happy hour and I had the hand roll for spicy yellowtail and the blue crab which is real crab. They did not come with avocado and The taste is kind of bland with the seaweed kind of not very crunchy. It was pricey and tasteless.

Yelp
Had sushi plater for lunch and today and this is probably 15th time of my vomiting after that. Paid 25 dollar ( include miso ) for lunch and this is what I got. You hope overly priced sushi will at least have the decency of being clean and here you go , you are proved wrong

Yelp
We came here for a quick lunch on a Thursday afternoon - If you are not aware, they are located in a (very nice) food court - it's not a restaurant inside of Hudson yards if that makes sense We sat at the sushi bar which had comfy seats with backs on them! Per food court standards, they were EXTREMELY fast - our waiter was over to us with iPad menus within seconds of us sitting down. They have a TON of vegan options - I chose a lighter lunch - black seaweed salad with edamame and the Phoenix roll. Everything was delicious and well prepared. I was genuinely impressed with the flavor of the salad. I would highly recommend for a quick solo lunch of with a friend!

Yelp
I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet. I remember when it was the second to last vendor to open at Hudson Eats. When it finally opened around beginning of August in 2014, I was so excited to have another option. I was already tired of the never changing options of Hudson Eats. Since I usually went here for lunch I mainly went for the fish bento bowls. You have a choice between soba (green tea or buckwheat) or rice (brown or white). Recently they added shirataki noodles. You then proceed to choose a vegetable such as wakame, edamame, zucchini salad, etc. When I first came, they were nice and let me choose a mix of two vegetables. For fish you have a choice between salmon, tuna, or octopus. When you mix everything together, the bowl is pretty tasty and surprisingly filling. I probably wouldn't get anything else besides their fish bowl. My boyfriend got their Chirashi bowl once and it was a pretty sad chirashi bowl. I also tried their ginger pumpkin soup and it just didn't taste very good. Stick to their bento bowls. It's nice to have a healthy option that's not Chopt at Hudson Eats, but this healthy option costs a whopping $18 including tax. Given the high price tag, I didn't come here very often, but it's still nice to have this as a lunch option.
