A Houston Family Will Appear on Netflix Baking Show ‘Nailed It’ - Eater Houston

"Blue Sushi Sake Grill, a sushi chain that bills itself as ultra Earth-conscious, will open a location at the burgeoning Heights development M-K-T later this year. According to a press release, Blue Sushi’s parent company, Flagship Restaurant Group, is one of the largest sushi groups to partner with the Monterey Bay Aquarium’s Seafood Watch program, which helps restaurants and chefs make sustainable choices when it comes to sourcing seafood. At Blue Sushi, that menu includes maki, sashimi, and nigiri, as well as a large sake list. Nick Hogan, CEO of Flagship Restaurant Group, said in a statement that Houston has been on the company’s radar for about a decade. The M-K-T location will be the first in the Bayou City, joining three spots in the Dallas area and another location soon to open in Austin. No word yet on an opening date for Houston." - Brittanie Shey

This is one of favorites Sushi places. Drinks, food and service are consistently good regardless when we go. I would highly recommend you visit them on Sunday as they have happy hour you get to try out more dishes and drinks without breaking the bank.

Glad I dropped by once again for lunch w friends. This joint has grown on me since it’s opened and I think it’s because they’ve gotten better w time to settle in. I definitely recommend sushi, sashimi and rolls shared w friends here as that really is their sweet spot n my opinion. I enjoy their hot tea offerings and I really like the kick that their wasabi packs…it’s got bang and I like that. I will have to stop by for dinner sometime to sample their sake offerings. Prices are reasonable for the offerings here, service much improved and friendly, and just a tip that u may have to hunt for parking now that MKT is hopping.

Pretty nice sushi spot in the heights area. Sushi can be tough competition if you don’t get it right but our experience went well! Wasn’t a fan of the cold sake but that may have just been my personal mood of the day and not necessarily because it wasn’t any good. Everything we had tastes great! The tuna tataki was fresh and flavorful. Had the San Marcos, the Hot Popper, and the Thriller. All super tasty! I went with the carrot ginger dressing for my salad and it was so good! Had to ask for more dressing on the side! I also like the slice of cucumber in the water. Definitely helps cleanse the palate.

Love this spot! Always come here when I’m craving a good sushi outing. They have plenty of options - raw and cooked - and they’re all very fresh. I most recently came here for Sunday brunch (which is all day happy hour) with my fiancée, and had the Cherry Bomb nigiri, Lion King and Roja rolls. They were all fantastic! My fiancée ordered the Shitake To Me and Thai Hippie rolls and the Unami nigiri. We also ordered the crispy Brussels Sprouts app. Everything was very delicious. You can really taste the freshness of their ingredients. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for delicious sushi!

Google
Had Andrew as our waiter (WONDERFUL, attentive, honest and knowledgeable) definitely recommend asking for him when you go in! Food here has so much depth in flavor, ready for an experience, come on down you won’t regret it. Bathrooms were clean and plenty of seating for small or large parties!

Google
Victoria was amazing, the vegan sushi options were to die for, the atmosphere, food, chefs, everything, was perfect. Best maki, vegan or not, that we’ve ever had! Don’t miss this spot! So happy to have found this place & those special/happy hour prices are fantastic! New happy place acquired :) dreaming of those rolls now 🤤

Google
I've visited a few times and have consistently good and intentional service. The wait staff are knowledgeable about the menu items, offer recommendations that make sense, and are very pleasant. The ambiance of this space is elevated, and it's clean, inviting, and nicely adorned. The food is top notch for the price. The sushi, especially the nigiri and sashimi, is fresh and flavorful. Nothing else to say except, stay the way you are Blue Sushi!

Arianna Taggart

Google
Exceptional service! Above what you would expect at this level of spot in professionalism and quality. We tried sake which was excellent but our cocktail was very watered down tasting. Some really unique menu options! Not the highest quality sushi/fish but still quite good! We liked the cherry bomb a lot!

Yelp
Indecision will be your only problem here! Everything tastes AMAZING! The appetizers, the rolls, the drinks are all delicious! You can't make a wrong choice! P.s. be sure to ask for a fly fan if you sit outside
google avatar

Yelp
Crab ragoons are crispy and have a mango sauce on them which is good. Pro tip - Ask for the boat presentation for your food if you want pictures! This is a great mid range sushi (not too fancy but not basic). This time we tried their rainbow roll (our favorite), spicy salmon roll, and the Cabo roll. Service is good. We've gone a few times here before where they say 45 minute wait and then it's less than a 5 minute wait which is odd. Otherwise - no issues. Dress casual or fancy - this place is works for many occasions!

Yelp
I've come here about a handful of times and can say with my entire chest i do not like it. I feel like I kept trying and trying because everyone raves about the food here. Service is abysmal honestly and the foods decent, edible! Ambiance is fun, definitely a vibe. There are much better casual sushi spots in town, you may not get the same atmosphere but for me that's okay. Charred does not equal burnt (the edamame), the sushi rolls are mediocre truly. I've brought veg friends here too and while it's great there's options, some said they'd much rather get cucumber rolls etc than pay the pricing for vegan sushi~
google avatar

Yelp
Good service, friendly staff, varied menu. Something for everyone whether sushi eaters or not. I had the lettuce wraps.

Yelp
Stopped here on a whim and had a good dinner. We had Brussels sprouts and two different rolls. We enjoyed all the items. We found it to also be pretty affordable. The inside is so cute and the outside area is great for getting a good picture too. We didn't have a reservation and got seated immediately with both the host and servers being super friendly (and funny) :).

Yelp
I've been here many times and it never misses! One of the most consistent places in Houston for food and great service with a sweet ambiance. I've come here casual and fancy. The vegan menu is unbeatable here to many sushi places in Houston allowing me to feel included with my non veg friends. Drinks here are unique as well. The service is beyond welcoming and helpful, employees are always happy to give recommendations and help with special requests. Came here recently for a bday and they were accommodating to the dessert we brought in. Parking here is a plus as it's a huge open lot and many other establishments around it are here too. My favorite time to go is Sundays for all day happy hour. However, prices are decent regardless. Enjoy :)

Yelp
Blue Sushi has become an elite spot here in the height, maybe even Houston. The drinks always deliver.. my Fiancé gets the China Doll, and I go with the Jalapeño Cucumber Marg. We then jump right into sashimi plates (Serrano Jalapeño & Truffle) Then finish it off with Sashimi & Nigiri. The best thing on the menu may be the black Squid ink sashimi.. highly recommend! The staff is always helpful and welcoming, sometimes I let them pick a few for me.

Yelp
After our arrival to Houston, my partner and I scoured food review websites, Yelp, Google, and gathered recommendations from our friends for vegetarian friendly sushi restaurants. To our dismay, a go-to vegeterian-friendly sushi restaurant seemed near impossible to find in Houston. We tried numerous restaurants that purported to have vegetarian friendly options, with disappointing results. Enter Blue Sushi Sake Grill. The menu alone has a dedicated vegan section - we were cautiously optimistic upon seeing this willingness to cater to vegetarians and vegans. The menu is riddled with vegetarian-friendly options, from appetizers all the way through desserts. The restaurant itself has a fantastic ambiance - a compromise between the extremely casual and the extremely formal, striking a beautiful, welcoming balance. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor seating is incredibly dog-friendly. The service staff even provided our pup with a treat! Now, of course, the food. We have been to Blue Sushi Sake Grill at least four different times since we moved to Houston. Each time, we have been thoroughly impressed with how tasty each sushi roll is. We have worked our way through the menu, and although we prefer certain rolls over others, overall Blue Sushi Sake Grill rarely disappoints. The shishito peppers and the Brussels sprouts are a particular highlight from the appetizer menu, though I imagine you probably cannot go wrong with any of the appetizers (though we have previously been less impressed with the edamame). If you are vegetarian, looking for a great go-to sushi restaurant in Houston, look no further!

Yelp
Reasonably priced sushi with a great vegan menu. If you visit during happy hour you will also get discounted sushi! We tried quite a few options and each one was delicious. From most to least favorite: Shiitake to me: This was our favorite dish and we loved the crispy flavor added to the mushrooms. Cowgirl: This was the most unique dish we had, it has a smoky flavor to it and is also crispy Green Goddess: the ponzu sauce is delicious! Thai Hippie and Unami Maki were also tasty but didn't have as much of a unique spin to them. Tuna Tower - comes with fake meat tuna on a bed of rice that you have to mix to eat. The sauce it comes with is delicious! Overall we would definitely return.

Yelp
Wonderful sushi place in the Heights. We usually get our sushi in Chinatown but this place is special. Really unique place with lots of vegetarian options. We got the charred edamame and Kaluna crispy rice cake. Both were good but I would definitely recommend the rice cake- you cannot tell it is soy. We got four rolls: Spicy Kaluna Crunch, South Pacific, Shiitake To Me, Eden Roll. Spicy Kaluna Crunch was our favorite and I would definitely recommend. The deserts were large portions but nothing too special so I probably wouldn't get again.

Yelp
I have been here several times. The service is always great. The ambiance and aesthetic is great. The menu has something for everyone which is a plus. Today I tried the crunchy LA. It was served cold. Considering, I have had the never had the crunchy LA served cold it was a little weird. I would definitely recommend checking out the happy hour. My issue is there being blonde hair entangled in my napkin. This is why I ALWAYS request paper napkins.

Yelp
Walked in on a Sunday evening for a double date and there was no wait. Everything we ordered was incredible and the waitress was very kind.

Yelp
I always have a good time and leave satisfied when I visit. The menu has something for everyone. During this visit I went with a few friends and we ordered quite a few things. Appetizers Crispy rice cakes 9/10 Mango crab Rangoon 6/10 Crispy Brussel sprouts 10/10 Drinks Hibiscus squeeze( it's refreshing with just the eight balance of sweetness and tart) 8/10 Rolls Godzilla bomb 10/10 Cloud 9 9/10 Philadelphia 6/10 Spicy gringo 10/10 flavors are explosive Yellowtail 10/10 so fresh Spanish fly 6/10 Tidal wave 10/10 just try it The beach 6/10 Hot popper 5/10 nothing hot about it Amazon 8/10 smoky flavor yum This place has a nice esthetic, delicious food and drinks. Service was ok on this visit. I've had better in the past here. Overall, it was a good dining experience

Yelp
The restaurant is located at M-K-T, a place that boasts an array of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques. Parking is plenty. The restaurant interior is beautiful. The colors and decorations come together nicely. The wait staff were awesome. Even though they did a mistake on my order, they were quick to rectify it, which I appreciate it. I had the salmon tower, and Godzilla bomb. The salmon tower was delicious. The flavor was good. The Godzilla bomb was not bad. It would be too spicy for people who have low tolerance for spiciness. I am on the fence for second visit because most of the rolls have crab mix, an ingredient which I am not a big fan of.

Yelp
Came here during happy hour. All the happy hour drinks were SUPER sweet, there were no alcohol taste to it whatsoever. We switched to regular priced drinks since the waitress mentioned the one I wanted was a lot stronger. The first one was good, but the next 2 drinks we were jipped with half the drink. The drinks came half empty...they didn't seem so happy about the complaints and I saw the bartender say something along the lines that he measured it correctly or whatever. The manager stood there watched him remake the drinks and when it came back out to the rim it was all sweetness. Which they probably only added more margarita mix. I'm assuming she told him to just add more mix. This place isn't a bang for your buck for mediocre drinks. If you're paying 13 dollars for one. Edamame is the typical edamame but don't get the charred ones because they were BURNT not charred. Kuu makes the best charred ones. Salmon truffle sashimi was legit but the ikura was fishy to me.

Yelp
Love the MKT area and been wanting to try some of the restaurants in here. Quite the little vibe over near these restaurants, all with decent crowds on a Saturday night. We sat on the patio here because seating inside was full, one suggestion would be to get some patio heaters, not bad but a little chilly and what places don't have them these days. The other places patios were full and guess what they had heaters. lol. Anyways. Just small suggestion. Onto the food and service, our waitress was fun and a great personality. Wish I knew her name but she had us laughing when she came around. For appetizer we had the charred spicy edamame and it was very flavorful, recommend. Along with that we had the beef hot rock which had great flavors as well with the sauce. For our entrees we got three rolls, Crunchy LA, Thriller and Cloud Nine 2.0. They were good, kind of wished they had more flavor or kick, especially after the flavor in the appetizers, but still good. Crunchy LA without the chili sauce would've been no flavor probably, so wouldn't order that one again. All in all would come back to try more things.

Yelp
I'm disappointed. This used to be our go to spot for Sushi regarding taste and price. While the service was still good, the food has gone down. The seaweed salad was tasteless and the brussel sprouts were chewy and dry. Couldn't finish it even though I normally love brussel sprouts. Sushi was ok but I remember it being phenomenal there in the past. Hope this was just a fluke.

Yelp
Amazing sushi! A highlight is their huge vegan selection- which is hard to find else where. Pro Tip: this is located in mkt - a cool complex to putter around in and enjoy! You can always enjoy a meal and grab dessert at the local ice cream shop or a coffee a la La land cafe!
google avatar

Chynna M.

Yelp
Very spacious and clean with an extensive menu. Service was quick and friendly, and I love that they can modify rolls to your liking. The charred edamame was so yummy, I also ordered Yellowtail Serrano Coconut Water HH Lion King Shrimp Tempura South Pacific Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Tuesday there's 25% off all vegan sushi so I pulled up!! The ambience is really cute looks like a trendy movie scene. The menu has so many vegan options which is refreshing. We tried a few rolls they were just ok, not impressed. The description of the roll appears different than what you actually get. They sound fancy but really are not. Service was weird like the staff was new, they put all your rolls on the same plate so it's hard to tell which roll is which and they staff couldn't explain either. I'd try them again if they changed the menu.
google avatar

Maddy A.

Yelp
LOVE the happy hour here. The truffle salmon is so yummy & the sauce on the shishito peppers was to die for!!!! The crispy tuna rice is always so yummy and it's kinda hard to find here in Houston so I LOVE. Loved the rolls & really loved the lion king roll. Spicy gringo would be good without the bbq paper IMO, but was still yummy but SPICY! Service was great and it was packed for dinner on a Sunday! Love the vibes inside.
google avatar

Nancyrae S.

Yelp
Joined some friends for lunch - in the middle of the week - not crowded. Lettuce wraps were uneventful, and the filling portions were not adequate for the number of servings it should have been - one small chunk of chicken is not a wrap. Ordered the tuna tower. Had to request forks in order to mix it up...and it comes with nothing to put it on...like wontons...nothing. It had a nice flavor. Had to request wasabi and ginger, and wait forever for drink refills. The rolls were average - would recommend the Hawaiian Roll and Thai Hippi. I think it's more about being at a cool new spot vs service or ambiance. Not very impressed.

Yelp
Had a good double date dining experience for happy hour. Their happy hour is M-Sat 3-6pm and all day Sunday. I made a reservation on open table and they had the table ready when we arrived. I did get lost trying to find the suite number and the hostess was no help. It's in MKT plaza and it's the second row of building towards the middle (I hope that helps). There is plenty of free parking. The food was yummy but the bill can stack up if you over a lot of things (even on happy hour price). The specialty Nigiri only comes with two pieces. We did two orders of the itchy salmon and one of the everything salmon. The everything salmon literally tasted like everything bagel. I could have done without it. I did like the itchy salmon and it had a good sauce come with it. My favorite starter was their Miso soup! I loved the amount of shiitake mushrooms and those mushrooms were delicious! The charred spicy garlic edamame for a starter was also on point! I loved the taste! Mango crab Rangoon was good but I could have skipped on ordering that one. The soup and charred edamame are a must have! Out of the rolls we ordered quite a few and they put all of our rolls in a cute wooden boat display! I tried the Lion King and Spicy Gringo, and I enjoyed both of them. I had a coconut breezy cocktail and I would recommend it! It was sweet and strong. The manager recommended us the chocolate egg-rolls for dessert. I liked the crispy shell and paired well with ice cream. Extra ice cream was needed! Overall I had some favorites but everything I tried was good. As you can see we ordered a lot lol. So "happy hour" wound up turning into a whole regular priced bill. I enjoyed trying a lot of new things and enjoyed all of them. I would definitely come back.

Yelp
I love sushi and this place is so good ! I was so happy with all my orders . Drinks were on the sweeter side but they were worth it . Prices for happy hour were good ! Could've been slightly cheaper but I ENJOYED ‍
google avatar

Brittany H.

Yelp
So fresh and so delicious! And the price points are really great as well for the quality of sushi. Customer service was great and the vibes were super chill. It's the kind of place where you can go casually dressed or dressed up, which I really liked. What we got: Drink: China Doll Sushi Rolls: The Godzilla Lion King Spicy Gringo Philadelphia Rainbow The Philadelphia was our least favorite. Only because we are used to the one we usually order having crab in it haha but I loved the smoked salmon that was on top.
google avatar

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The sushi here is insanely fresh. I love how on the menu it explains where the fish is sourced from. We ordered the spider maca, rainbow roll, edamame, salmon maca, and both hot and cold sake. We were so mesmerized and blown away that we ended up eating there twice in one day. Once before the comedy show and then after. The location was the Domain in Austin, but I am so excited to try the one in Houston. I know I will not be disappointed. Run run run to this place. Simply heavenly. I totally forgot to mention the decor. It is visually stunning inside.
google avatar

Yelp
First off this shopping center is so cute! Came in on a Monday and we got seated right away, the interior is really nice. Our waiter was nice and attentive, also the menu is very extensive which made me want to order everything because it all sounded so good! We settled on the Calamari, Hotel Cali, Cloud 9 2.0, Itchy Salmon, Thriller, and the Crunchy Blue. I also got the White Peach Daquiri, kinda strong but good and so cute, looooved the boba! The Calamari was delicious, I enjoyed the variation of tempura fried options, all of the rolls were good but Cloud 9 2.0 and Thriller roll were by far my favorite! I would highly recommend and will be back.
google avatar

Raunak A.

Yelp
Good ambiance. Nice location. Good service. Good quantity to quality of food ratio. I would definitely go back to this place again.

Yelp
This is my oldie but a goodie. I used to come every Sunday and I can't remember why I stopped coming but I'm back now. the drinks are always good, sushi is always fresh, vibes are chill and fun. The staff are always very attentive and welcoming. My boyfriend loved the Crunchy LA but he said the Shrimp Tempora was a little underwhelming. I got the Ceviche, Crab Rangoons, and the yellowtail -- all good but I feel like the yellowtail was drowned out by the sauce. Overall great experience. I'll definitely be back next Sunday for happy hour and sake bombs !!
google avatar

Yelp
Came on a late Wednesday afternoon to enjoy their happy hour. The happy hour menu is very reasonable and has a lot of variety. The restaurant is in the MKT plaza and can be hard to find parking at busy hours. Luckily I found one near the restaurant. It is a very nice restaurant with an appealing interior space! The restaurant was pretty empty so I thought the service was going to be attentive but it was the complete opposite. The service was honestly the main reason I'm giving the place 2 stars. It felt as if we were the last thing on our servers mind. First, she asked me if it was my first time, I said yes and she just hands me the menu and explains nothing. I thought I was going to get a small spiel but it was fine, I wasn't too worried. I also asked for a water that never came until I asked again. She also kept running off into the restaurant next door? Like we would see her, she would come to help and then run away to another restaurant. Like did she work there and is working at two places at once? But it was honestly ridiculous and we wouldn't see her for 15-20 mins after. We had to close our tab with the bartender since we had no idea when she was going to come back. The food was pretty good, I will give them that. But due to the service we received, I will not be back to this location.

Yelp
My favorite place to eat and grab drinks when I visit Houston! Their happy hour selections are great as well. Located in MKT heights, this place is such a lively spot with great sushi and drinks. The staff always go above and beyond as well.

Yelp
When this place first opened, it was literally my favorite sushi place to go to here in Houston and there is a lot of sushi places here in Houston but this one was not overly priced and I loved their happy hour and I loved how fresh sushi was however, I don't know what has changed this year but the past few times I've went the quality has definitely went down with the sushi so I'm sad to leave this review

Yelp
So we came in at happy hour so the place was popping. The hostess was friendly even with the traffic. The server took excellent care of us and was patient. We had the bbq edamame and the Brussels sprouts both were very delicious and above expectations. We shared these rolls: Lion King Hot Popper Snow White Tidal Wave I enjoyed them all with my least favorite being the tidal wave. Wifey ordered the Lettuce Wraps and was very happy. For dessert we ordered the Chocolate Spring Rolls & Mochi Matcha. The chocolate was a lot so definitely need to share that one. Even the non-chocolate lover in the family enjoyed. The drive was about an hour for us and think would definitely come back.

Yelp
Crunchy blue (bottom) - 8.5/10 - $7 - Really good but I would get it without cilantro next time. The spicy crab mix in it was flavorful and so fresh. Hotel cali (middle) - 9/10 - $12 - Really tasty with cream cheese and jalapeños. It was crispy and flavorful but I personally thought it had too much cream cheese. Crunchy red (top) - 7.5/10 - $11 - This one had the most flavor but I wasnt a fan of the flavor because it tasted like indian masalas to me lol. Overall one of the better spots for sushi ive had with a nice ambiance. Would definitely go again!

Yelp
After a meeting in the area, I was looking for a spot close by for dinner. I stumbled upon Blue Sake Grill. Upon walking in, I was immediately impressed with how pretty the restaurant is. The decor is fabulous and the ambiance is A+. If we were grading on aesthetics alone, Blue Sushi is a five-star. The restaurant was almost full on a Thursday so I was placed at the bar. The bar has outlets which is always a plus in 2023. I ended up going with the charred edamame and the Hawaiian roll. The Hawaiian roll, which sounded incredible since I love Hawaiian food and sweet glazes, didn't live up to the hype. It was also a pretty small portion size. The edamame on the other hand was amazing. The char on the edamame puts it over the top compared to any other edamame you've ever had. It was addicting! Service was standard. Given the portion sizes, the prices are quite high. Noticeably high. You're paying for the ambiance.

Yelp
Our experience here was pretty good - but compared to other sushi experiences it definitely lacked. The sushi quality is okay - it's not the best. The cuts on the rolls were a bit poor - since there were fish tendon sort of still keeping the individual sushi rolls together. The hot stone beef was not the best either. The taste, flavor, quality of meat was lacking especially for the price. The truffle salmon and the crispy rice with spicy tuna were probably my favorite bites of the night! The ambiance is really cool and the wait staff was helpful with our group of 6. The prices are pretty good too - but I would rather splurge on sushi!

Yelp
Love this place, food so good and great service, drinks good tooo! Nina our server was amazing !! I come here at least once a month

Yelp
My girlfriend and I came here after leaving another happy hour that we weren't too impressed with. This one was a lot better! The salmon was new for us (8/10) just because we were used to something else with the fish. The calamari was a (6/10). The calamari piece were good but there was a lot of other stuff on the plate that I wasn't the biggest fan of. Crab rangoons were a (10/10). So yummy! My favorite was the China Doll drink! The service was good, our server was quick and efficient. And the space was cute, our table was in an awkward position right by another table but not that deep. Overall would come here again especially for happy hour.

Yelp
CONTEXT: Came here for the first time July 2023,and the service was awful, and my cousin and I were at the bar. A couple who arrived 10 minutes after us at the bar got their food and drinks, while we were still waiting for our drinks. We just left. Today 1/1/24: - Happy Hour all day (New Year's Day) - Service is still slow and seemingly under staffed. It wasn't that busy. - One of those "Know what you want and give your entire order" bc you'll never see the server again. - No ice in the water - After 15-20 minutes, I finally see my OG server again. - Both servers stopped by, none offered to refill my ice-less water. I'm still drinking from the same cup poured for me when I got here. - I finally got my water refilled as my check was brought over. Conclusion: Why not have an effective amount of staff members before opening a restaurant? I really hate having to be super vigilant when I come out to eat, where I'm more focused on flagging down my server than enjoying my meal.

Yelp
Food was okay & place seemed to be struggling with AC so our baby got uncomfortable pretty quickly. Felt like it was expensive for what we got. I likely will not go back

Yelp
This used to be my favorite sushi spot here in Houston. The food is great, but I came here in May and their AC was out, we came back today and it was still out. It makes me not want to come back. It's hard to enjoy such good food when it is so hot and you're sweating the entire time.

Yelp
One of our favorite casual sushi spots! The weekend happy hour is such a great deal & everything is consistently fresh & delicious! Service can tend to get slow but food is worth the wait.

Yelp
HONEST REVIEW BELOW The food is great but the service is terribllleeeeeeee. I've been there multiple times & every time the service fails to deliver... I tried it out a couple of times on my own due to the hype, and then gave it a third AND fourth chance when friends asked to go.. If I wasnt in the industry, I wouldn't have given it another chance. I was disappointed each and every time. Every single one of their staff seems to hate their job or not want to be there. I've gone when it's busy and when it's slow and it hasn't changed the outcome. This is super upsetting when the food is as good as it is. I hope this place turns around and can figure out how to be hospitable.

Yelp
Came for the happy hour on Sunday to enjoy a few rolls of sushi! The happy hour menu is large, so you can definitely get a decent meal out of it. The lion king was my favorite, it had the most sauces compared to the other rolls we ordered. The crunchy blue was also a great roll. I ordered the miso soup which was flavorful but slightly over salted

Yelp
Probably our favorite spot for sushi when we want vegan options. Blue Sushi's vegan sushi menu is excellent and plays with some fun flavors. They also have great nigiri options too. One drawback is that it's not an easy place to pop in to on a whim, so planning ahead and reserving a table is worth doing. Service in our experience has also been excellent.

Yelp
This has a date night ambiance to me. I sat down at the sushi counter and the people were making sushi right in front of me which was pretty fun. The sushi itself was good, the fish wasn't "fishy" in a bad way. It had a light flavor. I will say for the thriller roll, the sauce was a citrus aioli on top which was a little bit heavy handed. But nevertheless it was very good. The server was nice and helped me decide which sushi to choose, and I was not disappointed by her recommendation.

Yelp
Went to Blue Sushi Sake Grill this week and really enjoyed the experience! Blue Sushi really catches your eye when you walk in. The bold colors and designs are pretty memorable and really shine at night. I really enjoyed the Mango Crab Rangoons. A great light fry and real crab underneath. The Super Asparagus sushi was, well, super also. Asparagus in sushi was a new one for me but the flavor worked well. Unfortunately, the fried calamari went the other way. Not sure if it was frozen, or if Blue Sushi just uses such a thick batter that the calamari and veggie assortment struggles to make it through. I was a bit disappointed that my comments in our reservation about my friend's birthday seemed to go unread. Would be great to see them take a little more notice to what guests are plugging in to OpenTable.

Yelp
This is a regular spot for me and my girlfriends. Josh was a timely server and we had no issues with anything we ordered. We stopped in for happy hour before a concert and noticed some positive changes to the menu! They now have an espresso martini, and added peach pearls to the White Peach Daiquiri, making the drink more fun and enjoyable. It is normally quiet when we have dined in, and the restaurant is spacious. We LIVE for the miso soup and itchy salmon! If looking for consistent food and service, this is a great place to add to your list. We had: - Itchy Salmon (2) -Miso Soup -Crunchy LA -Tidal Wave -White Peach Daiquiri -House Cabernet Sauvignon
