Google
First time eating sushi and this was a great place to start. They have SO many options, and Brynn was PHENOMENAL!!!! She took the time to learn my preferences and made some amazing recommendations. I liked everything she suggested I try. I'm convinced she could recommend something for everyone's palette. She was very attentive and patient. The service was quick and sushi was delicious. I tried the itchy salmon, blue kani, mango crab rangoon, thriller, cali rolls, and Philadelphia rolls. The blue kani was my favorite and the crab rangoon was great too. Overall, I'll be back and hope to have Brynn again!

Google
Absolutely a must go. My waitress was amazing explained everything to my table as first time guest. Made the visit as flawless as it could have gone. Becky S. ask for her you will not be disappointed. I will look for her on my next visit. Thank you.

Google
Excellent sushi! Our server was a little forgetful, but it was very busy and we got there in the end! The place itself is a really nice space with a friendly and upbeat vibe. The rolls were outstanding and we had a great experience!

Google
Always perfect drinks! I can’t remember the appetizer name but the tower was really good! Also got the Spicy Edamame! We love to sit at the bar and the bartenders are always friendly.

This is one of our favorite restaurants in Lincoln, and one of our favorite Sushi restaurants! If you're interested at all, don't miss this one! The food is awesome! There are so many good rolls that you really can't go wrong. Even since we've gone vegan, there's a bunch of really good things to choose from! -The chicken or tofu lettuce wraps are amazing and a great appetizer to share with friends. -For non-vegans: Hotel Cali, Super Asparagus, Tidal Wave, and Hot Popper are amazing! -For vegans: Bito Maki 2.0, Crunchy Cabbage, and Cowgirl are incredible! Also, try the sweet soy sauce as an alternative to eel sauce, it's really tasty with the rolls. The service is always fantastic. At our last visit, Jocelyn was so kind and helpful and even finished serving us as they were closing down. Thank you so much! The atmosphere is cool, and sitting on either the blue or red side gives a bit of a different experience. It's casual but fancy, and it looks great. This would be a great place to bring a date or friends. They have an amazing happy hour, so if you get the chance, it's always a good time to go if you want to spend a little less!

My friend and I had a reservation Tuesday night and sat out on the patio. Our experience was great as always! The manager Mallory stopped by our table to check on us and see how everything was, she was very sweet. Our server was very attentive and nice as well! The crab Rangoon’s are my favorite and the sauces are to die for! They told us to try the Japanese peppers next time! Cannot wait to come back! Sit out on the patio for a great view!

Google
I’ll be honest, we usually like blue but this last experience definitely didn’t have us itching to come back. My wife, 3 kids and I arrived to a restaurant with with about 1/2 of the tables empty on a Sunday at about 5:30. We were told we were going to have to wait 15 minutes for a table. We did indeed wait 15 minutes then were seated in a crowded back room—a brightly lit room unlike the rest of the restaurant. It looked like we were about to have breakfast at the holiday inn express. They brought all of our food, then after about 30 minutes they brought our kids three bento boxes. Food was okay, ambiance was meh in the back room, the kitchen on “this side” of the restaurant was slow and the waiter never filled my water—so service was meh as well.

Google
Incredible sushi delivered to my door. Super fresh and delicious! The tower was deconstructed, but still beautiful!

Yelp
The sushi is delicious and well-made. The restaurant is clean, well-run, and almost always busy. If you haven't already, you need to check this place out!

Yelp
Delicious sushi, great service. Have Happy Hour Specials that are a great deal. They have a large cocktail menu.

Yelp
Visited this location when traveling to nebraska! My cousin who lives near the area highly recommended this restaurant! Im very picky when it comes to sushi and this spot was everything and more, it's going to be hard not having a blue sushi in michigan! We tried a bunch of different rolls, apps, and cocktails! The best roll was the thriller roll. Our server was great too! I was a big fan of the menu graphics and the overall design of the restaurant.

Yelp
This was the 1st time I've been to the Blue Sushi grill in Lincoln, NE. I've been to the one in Omaha, NE so I think my expectations may have been set to a higher level walking in. They maybe had 4-5 table sat in the whole restaurant so I was a little disappointed that the server or greeter took about 10 minutes for the initial table side greeting. To be fair I did come in for a late dinner around 8pm & however I confirmed that the place didn't close until 9. The best part was the mango Crab Rangoon with the two different sauces. The Spicy Tuna/Spicy Tekka roll was pretty generic & disappointing. I think it's probably a better spot for Happy Hour if you are staying at the Courtyard Marriott (attached to the restaurant) or Hilton Garden Inn which was just across the street. There are a lot of other options in that downtown area so I think I'll be trying one of those out the next time I'm in town.

Yelp
Best sushi in Lincoln, always have great service there and the General Manager is always on top of making sure everything is running smooth. Love her hands on approach to all the tables. Only thing they need is a better dessert menu, we always leave and get dessert else where.

Brooke M.

Yelp
Food and place was great, service was not unfortunately. Molly was quite rude and seemed annoyed to be here. Gave my check to me mid eating and said she forgot about us, felt rushed to be out of here and made the experience unpleasant.

Yelp
Nice ambiance with Japanese decor by the bar area. Our server Mackenzie was really sweet and checked up on our frequently even though she was looking over several tables. For appetizers if you want something a little more filling, get the crab rangoon so you don't over order. The beef on the river rocks were a little on the plainer side and was almost $18, so I would skip out on this one. The everything salmon was yummy, but a little bit on the saltier side because it was smoked and there was some soy sauce on the bottom that made it a bit saltier. Our favorite roll was the lion king because I'm a sucker for anything that's been torched and has a bit of a charred taste to it. The eel sauce and sriracha mayo on top made it a very savory roll as well.

Yelp
Sat at the bar last night. Gave my drink order to one bartender who handed it off to an associate and made it wrong. Requested they remake the cocktail correctly and she made it wrong a second time so I gave up. Sushi entrees were ok at best except they made the order wrong for my colleague as well and did not offer to remediate. We constantly had to ask, remind and re-request even mundane things like sauces, utensils, water refills etc. it felt like it was everybody's first day on the job without supervision or training. The atmosphere was ok. Nothing worth remembering or mentioning. The service was sufficiently bad it became comical. Not coming back when this city has alternatives a plenty.

Yelp
Came here around noon on a Friday. Our group decided to get a lounge table, which was like two couches around a narrow table. The regular tables have more room on them. I got the lunch special which comes with a soup or salad, I got the miso soup. I also got the tidal wave roll and the scallop (hotato) nigiri. Everything comes out as it's ready so everyone on our table got their orders at differing times. We also got the free edamame for checking in on yelp. The miso soup was good, and had some sliced mushrooms. The tidal wave roll was just as advertised with some tempura shrimp and imitation crab. The scallop nigiri had seaweed wrapped around it and the scallop seemed really fresh and sweet. My coworkers got the sizzling beef dish, the tuna tower, the spider roll, and the fried ice cream for dessert. Everything was delicious; I would come back again.

Yelp
Always fun to go in with a group and eat alot of sushi. We love their happy hour and all the amazing appetizers.

Yelp
Great customer service and the food was exceptional as always and was presented in a timely manner. I love this place!

Yelp
I LOVE BLUE SUSHI! food 10/10. most servers 10/10. the last time i went it was for a friends birthday and at the end of the meal our server walked up and gave him a free shot (legal drinking age of course). the restaurant itself if so pretty and not too cramped.

Ingrida B.

Yelp
The worst service I have ever experienced or heard about. They serve vegans raw tuna fish dishes and then don't even try to make it right. The waitress just noted that the wrong dish was taken off of bill. What they expected to charge me for something I didn't get or something and now they are generous for not charging me....TERRIBLE PLACE AND SERVICE!!!
google avatar

Yelp
This place isn't bad by any means but it isn't great. When you have better sushi options literally around the corner in the Haymarket, it's difficult to give this place more than three stars. It's decorated modernly while also paying homage to some fun japanese art/ads. It's visually nice. But the food is just okay. I ordered the South Pacific roll (specialty maki) and the amount of food was very small. Don't let the picture deceive you; that plate was just a little bit bigger than my hand. Me and my friend had to get smaller classic rolls just to supplement. The roll itself also tasted bland, a shame considering the eel and pineapple as ingredients. Come here if Shokunin is full.

Yelp
Good food. Cool environment. Definitely a place to check out if you want an upbeat dining experience.

Yelp
Great food, great service and nice atmosphere! We ordered four rolls to share and they were all amazing! Only got a pic of the first two. Excited to try the Omaha location.

Yelp
My favorite sushi spot!!! I will always give it such a good recommendation. I had some friends come to town that live in Japan and they wanted a good recommendation for sushi. I told them to try blue sushi out and they loved it. They said the raw options on the menu seemed a lot like sushi from Japan. Obviously, not as fresh as we are landlocked but still great! My favorite rolls are tidal wave and the South Pacific. I highly recommend the jalapeño ponzu as a dipping sauce. The one thing I wish they would change is that they don't add enough eel sauce to some rolls because it's so good so I usually ask for extra. The staff is usually nice & quick and my friends and I love the restaurant setting itself especially the patio! I don't recommend the couches if you have back pain, you'll have to hunch over but still a fun spot for drinks & apps!

Yelp
The portion to price ratio, is laughable. We waited an hour after calling in an order for pickup and got no call back. Eventually WE called them and they had forgotten our order completely. They finally found our now soggy sushi and claimed the name was spelt wrong and that's why they didn't call but They had a perfectly good phone number to call that was never put in use. The people running this restaurant are incompetent and full of excuses. The food tasted very good though, the only redeeming quality of this place.

Deborah M.

Yelp
We had a most delightful lunch at Blue in the Haymarket. Jocelyn, our waitress, was so delightful; she was knowledgeable, clearly a foodie who had experienced everything on the menu and was attentive without being intrusive. The food was magnificent (Ceviche A+and cherry bomb: amazing)--but the service from Jocelyn made the experience so fabulous.

Pam W.

Yelp
Food was fabulous, as usual. However, every time we visit, and we have a reservation, we are let to a table for 4 that is located at a corner right where servers are going in and out of the kitchen. Each time, we hear "corner" as a warning. Next time we will refuse the table, but I would strongly recommend just getting rid of the table. It is a nuisance for the servers and the diners sitting there.

Yelp
I was there with a very large party of 30+, celebrating a major event with family and friends. The food was fresh and tasty, as it always is at any Blue Sushi. What I'm here to say is that the service was on point. I was so impressed, our server was friendly, efficient, and quick. Drinks served fast, orders taken fast, dishes served fresh, tasty, delish and fast. It was a fun and relaxing experience.

Yelp
Great little spot. The food and service were awesome. The peach margaritas are the bomb. Amazing happy hour

Yelp
First time ever at blue and it was an amazing. Great experience. Great people. Great environment. And best of all GREAT SHUSHI

Yelp
Great spot to hang out in Haymarket before the game! Not as packed and not burgers and fries!!Multiple visits here and have always had great service! Menu has great variety for all appetites and tastes! Crispy rice with tuna and chicken salad were my favorites. Also enjoyed their sushi rolls.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
Impressive vegan options! What Almost everything! I got the charred edamame from checking in with yelp! I also got the vegan tuna tower, and 2 rolls (Cowgirl and prince roll). Very impresses by the vegan options, all the stars for vegan options! The charred edamame was overly salted and i felt I was eating straight up salt after a bit, I love the charred to it, though it gave me the burnt fingers... The tower and the rolls were really good, my only complain is that the rice was not that great. It was overcooked.. and also like a cake...Not sure how to describe it fully but it wasn't nice sushi rice. Environment Very nice environment with sushi bar seating on one side and a bar seating on the other side. There are also a number of regular seats available. Very nicely decorated. Niceness of the staff I went alone and sat at the sushi bar. The staff was very friendly, patient and attentive. I was able to use the Yelp check in for a free edamame! Dollar It was sushi dollar, which can easily add up. I guess I was hungry and my tower, and 2 rolls came up to $30 something. Yes? Def would be interested in trying other items...

Yelp
My wife and I were on a road trip and Lincoln was our first overnight stop. We were hungry but not looking for a heavy meal. We found Blue Sushi Sake Grill on the Yelp app and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed. We wanted casual and easy. This place fit the bill. We sat at the bar and our bartender/server Matt was awesome. He made some great recommendations and was very attentive even as they started to get busy. We eat sushi A LOT. Blue Sushi had something we've never had and I highly recommend. Try the Charred Edamame. It is delicious. So if you get a chance, check them out. Enjoy a great cocktail and some equally great sushi. If Matt's not there, hopefully he found a stage to perform on. Good luck Matt.

Yelp
This place would get five stars from me if they would allow smoking outside again! I mean you're outside what's the deal here? Otherwise food ambience and service is great but when they took away smoking outside I don't go there as often anymore I mean come on even people that don't smoke like to occasionally have a cigarette or vape with their cocktail outside and you have seating outside so bring back the smoking outside and then we will spend more money at your location. Thank you

T K.

Yelp
Says you close @ 10, it's 9:20 on a Tuesday. wouldn't seat me. I get it, it's late but common.

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday for their all day happy hour and it was good! They are always busy which is great! Their miso soup was also one of my favorite that I've had! Everything they brought out to our table looked and tasted great! We were all very happy with everything! Our server was also very friendly :)

Bee B.

Yelp
Good happy hour. Really enjoyed the blue martini and ice cold beer.plan to go back when back in Lincoln

Yelp
Food very good. Easy to order. Nice service when picking up. Quick easy. Ambiance at home always good

Yelp
Wasn't impressed this time around. Was very busy for a Monday night. Service was okay and Green Eggs and Hama sushi mid. The cucumber salad was tasty but a little too sweet for me.
google avatar

Jessica S.

Yelp
I love Blue. I've been here a handful of times now and always leave happy. I usually get sushi and love that when I check in I get a free edamame. This impresses my tablemates. :) I wasn't a fan of the salmon skin roll I had last time, but it was more a texture thing. The taste was great! I also had a piece of my friends Hawaiian roll and it was OH so delightful. Still impressed. Just updating to add pictures of some recent things my friends who aren't big fish/sushi fans had. One enjoyed the Chicken Crunch Salad. She also prefers the vegan soup. And another (who is a meat and potatoes kind of person) had the Black Garlic Beef Tataki. He shared his veggies with us but he left happy as well. See, even your friends who say I don't like sushi can find something they love at Blue.

Chelsea A.

Yelp
Went to Blue for the first time, we are visiting for graduation this weekend, food was great but our server Dalton was outstanding. It's rare nowadays to get good service at restaurants but Dalton was very attentive, and took very good care of us. The service industry needs more people like Dalton

Anne H.

Yelp
I like that the menu is clearly sorted into raw and not raw options. They serve cucumber water to the table which is a nice touch.
google avatar

Yelp
First of all, love the food, however, the service we received while dining in the restaurant June 2021 was awful. Our server, and others, were more interested in talking to coworkers than taking our order or making sure we got the right food or clean dishes and silverware. When our server was at our table she was very rude. Once we got clean dishes, clean silverware, drinks and finally the (right) food we all enjoyed what we got. Thankfully we didn't have anywhere to be so the long waits were nothing more than frustrating. Back in March 2021 we got takeout from here and we loved everything we ate. The food is great, if it hadn't been for the terrible experience with the service I would rate it higher. Now to the food: I love that the menu has the vegan options clearly label and enjoy the variety of vegan options beyond that of the typical cucumber or avocado roll. I had the seaweed salad to start because how can you not? It was very good, but kind of hard to go wrong there, right? For sushi rolls I had the vegan ahimi, the vegan spicy ahimi and the green goddess roll. The spicy ahimi was definitely my favorite. All in all, good food but not sure we'll be back.

Max C.

Yelp
Love coming here for the tuna tower! Prompt service and a nice, cozy atmosphere. Recommend for couples, alone or with a small group.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are here for the "grill" and not the sushi, skip this place. Seriously, skip it. Me: "What do you have that's grilled?" Server: "We shut down the grill due to Covid. We do have tenderloin served on hot river rocks." Me: "OK, sounds good." Me to myself: "How can every single restaurant in America fire up their grill during Covid, but this place can't. Me after trying the 3 oz of tenderloin: "I'm ready for a meal now after the tenderloin served on river rocks...in a van...down by the river. The sizzling tiny pieces of beef cooking on four small rocks was a novelty I had not experienced. I can honestly say, my life today is worse than when we walked in. My two daughter's take on their sushi...meh. $86 bucks for lunch. I would have chosen Denny's over this place. Yes, Denny's, where no one goes there, you just end up there.

M B.

Yelp
Mckinsey was our waitress and she did a wonderful job anticipating our next request. The mgr. Mallory also went beyond the call of duty to take care of our table of eight men. Would highly recommend this Blue for sushi, ambience and outstanding help!

Kelly O.

Yelp
fire honestly recommend tidal wave and lion king for those who don't know what to get also edamame and mangoroons
google avatar

Jan Michael B.

Yelp
Well, here's some of the carnage that was the amazing sashimi and rolls from Blue. What you're not seeing is the Godzilla Bomb conquered by a hangry white American monster. This beast's beauty enjoyed the Snow White. And we both danced to an unforgettable tune while sharing cuts of the yellowtail serrano. The help was fun, conversational and hospitable. Certainly recommend.
google avatar

Katie R.

Yelp
This might be the perfect place to grab lunch during work. They open at 12, and we got seated as soon as they let us in. The service was phenomenal, the perfect amount without being overbearing. The raspberry mojitos were "light" in taste but generous with ingredients (if you know what I mean). The sushi was fresh as can be, and their lunch specials provide two maki rolls and a house salad or miso soup. Such a good deal, will continue coming back!
google avatar

Pett O.

Yelp
This is the actual center of Lincoln night life. It offers a broad variety of maki rolls, quite fun and tasty. Not super-Japanese orthodoxy, but instead a hybrid variety of Mexican and Mediterranean influences in the sushi and rolls menu. Service nice with friendly waiters.
google avatar

Mark W.

Yelp
Sushi was great. I got the Under The Sea roll, which was fantastic! My fiancé had the Yakisoba, which was very delicious as well, be prepared that the beef has a bit of a sweet taste. Our waitress took good care of us and was very friendly and helpful. The ambiance was nice. It was a smaller seating area and feels fairly intimate. They do have outdoor seating, which would have been nice if it wasn't so hot out.
google avatar

Nadia R.

Yelp
Great energy inside the restaurant divided in half with one side well lit with the sushi bar and the other side dark lit with full bar. Food was delicious and filling. Visiting from LA.

M R.

Yelp
overpriced and the service has gone downhill. Happy hour is not what it used to be. There are better sushi joints to choose from in Lincoln. This one isn't on the menu any longer.

Yelp
Highlight: Iguana roll The Iguana $13/6 pieces - Shrimp tempura, crab mix, fresh water eel, avocado, serrano, yellow soy paper, cucumber wrap, ponzu, and eel sauce. This roll was light and refreshing. It doesn't have any rice in it and was tasty. Spider Maki $13/10 pieces - Crispy soft shell crab mix, spicy mayo, smelt roe, avocado, cucumber. Decent spider roll, the rice was a little mushy. Conveniently located next to the Courtyard, you can just walk next door if you are staying here. They have a special food and drink menu during happy hour: Mon-Sat: 3 PM-6:30 PM Fri-Sat: 10:30 PM-12 AM Sun: 12 PM-8 PM ....| \ _ , , , - - , , _ , .../ , ` . - ' ` ' . _ \ - ; ; ; , _ ..| , a - ) ) _ . ; . Yelp
I have allergies and have to be selective where I eat. Blue Sushi has a dedicated gluten free menu with vegan items clearly marked (I am gluten and dairy free). There were many options for me to choose from, and the waiter was very knowledgeable about my allergens and the menu items. He was also very attentive. The service was fast and the food was fabulous! We will definitely be back!!

Yelp
There are many choices for dinner in the Haymarket District. We chose Blue Sushi and were very happy with our choice. Our favorites were the Blue Crunch and Godzilla rolls. Prices are reasonable. They were very busy and the friendly staff hustled to keep everyone fed and happy. We recommend you give it a try.
