"Look no further than this spot for fresh, local seafood. Unlike its Mission Hills location, this spot is steps away from the water, and the concept is the same, too. Choose your fish, its marinade and how it’s to be served (taco, sandwich, salad or plate). Sashimi and other seafood options expand your eating options. The spot also sells fresh seafood to cook at home." - Darlene Horn

"One of San Diego’s original spots for casual, fresh seafood adds another location with the opening of Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill in Ocean Beach. Longtime fishermen, the Brauns stock the retail markets at all their outposts with a variety of local seafood that can also be grilled with custom marinades and featured in sandwiches, salads, plates, or tacos like the Track Taco, which tops chipotle butter-marinated wild Pacific shrimp with Maui onion and mango slaw. There are frequent specials, as well as other dishes that range from seafood cocktails and ahi poke to sauteed mussels, fish and chips, and cioppino. The 2,500-square-foot Ocean Beach restaurant is a partnership with local hospitality group Social Syndicate, which owns neighboring Sunset Plaza spots Wonderland Ocean Pub and OB Surf Lodge. With large booths, communal tables, and an ocean-view patio, there’s considerably more seating here then on India Street." - Candice Woo

Oh my gosh! We were craving a sandwich with fish and found this place by accident. We came 20 min before closing, but still get wonderful experience. I took a crab sandwich and my friend some white fish. Both are amazing! Also, great oysters! Fresh seafood, which is not overpriced! A lot of choices, they have their own market with fish as well. Will come back 100% Bartender was wondering!

Google
Tried their $1.5 oyster happy hour and as you can see it wasn’t the greatest ( see pics) the oyster came out last which is weird and they looked really weird and didn’t taste fresh at all. Tacos and calamari were ok. The calamari was over fried. Whoever took our order seemed not happy to be there. Overall, wouldn’t come back for sure. Waste of money.

Google
These “mini” shrimp tacos were so good! They were regular size tacos to me so I can only imagine what their other tacos look like. The shrimp was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the tacos were packed with flavor. $10 mimosa flight on Sunday’s, you simply cannot beat it. And they were strong, it took me a while to finish the flight. My sister had the buffalo cod sandwich which I tried and it was so good, for sure the best fish sandwich I’ve ever had. We sat outside and enjoyed the weather and beach views. 10/10 recommend this place!

Google
Clam chowder was good. A friend had the bread bowl and the bread was fresh. The kid's fish and chips was great and their cole slaw was shredded, light dressing and really tasty. Go up and order then find seating. The sunset was lovely. It was a bit cold out on the patio @7 pm so bring a layer. There was a heater, but the wind came through. The credit card machine stopped working and my order was lost. I went up and asked about it and they told me what happened. Then I was changed for the meal the next day a second time. I called and left my info. I hope they are able to credit the amount.

Google
Food was great service was really slow we waited 20 mins in line then another 35 minutes from our food. Mine wasn't super hot when I got it so I assume it just got busy and mine was up too early. Hubs was hot both were really good. I think it's weird they want tips but won't even refill.yoir water, you have to go inside to a water cooler to get a refill. They only take orders and bring out food nothing more yet give me a 15% -20% tip please. It was pricy overall. I did however like the fish I got.

Google
Not as good as it used to be. Delightfully surprised how good their jalapeño butter mussels which I highly recommend. If you’re doing fish tacos then get their track taco, which is their signature. The chowder wasn’t that great but it’s not terrible. Sundays they have $10 mimosa flights with 4 different great flavors. They have outdoor dining with some space heaters for cooler days.

Google
First time in this restaurant and my husband ordered a cod taco I ordered sea bass. I’ve been sitting here waiting while the rest of our group eats! Finally after my husband asks server came to table and said my taco was on my husbands plate. He ate both not knowing because the whole thing was covered in cabbage and this was our first time here!! Now that everyone is done I’ll be getting mine. Had to put it in a take out box and eat later. Little irritating. Who puts two different orders on the same plate! EDIT: The girl who took our order was no help. In fact little rude. So asked for manager. She was WONDERFUL and said girl that took order put tickets together not telling the back to split it on two plates. She quickly made my taco and took 30% off the bill. She explained well what happened and made it right. So I have changed my rating due to HER. Wish I had gotten her name ….but if you read this then THANK YOU.

Google
Food is fresh! Not good: oyster is very very small, I’ve never seen that small oyster! 6 oyster is not even adding up to one normal oyster I’ve had in other place. Track taco is not as expected, the tortilla is hard. Good: service is ok, you ordered in the counter yourself, and waitress brought out food to your desk. Salmon sashimi is fresh, grilled scallop and ahi is fresh. Calamari is the best I’ve had in US.

Suha R.

Yelp
First off, the track taco completely ruined shrimp for me in the best way possible. I will never have shrimp again without remembering that utter deliciousness. Stick away from the rice, unless you're in the mood for oatmeal consistency. The crisscut fries were delicious, if slightly bland. Service was fast but a long wait to order, and there's a great view outside of the ocean. I can't wait to come back next trip to San Diego.

Earlene C.

Yelp
Blue Water Seafood knows fish! Fish is all they serve and made to order. We were introduced to varieties of fish we'd never had before and it was all so delicious and fresh. I opted for the Grouper, grilled in garlic butter on a salad. Hubs got the Mahi Mahi in a fish taco.

Jasmine L.

Yelp
I was so looking forward to trying this place. Got there and asked the cashier what they recommended for a flaky soft white fish and they recommended their local sea bass. Also ordered: - Clam chowder 2/5 too salty - calamari 4/5 pretty good and not overly chewy - oysters 3/5 decent but very small - sea bass with lemon butter sauce 2/5 this came out super tough and overcooked. We sent this back and the second time was better but definitely not flakey - cioppino 4/5 this was probably the best thing. But the fish inside was also tough and overcooked - track shrimp taco 3/5 pretty average, nothing spectacular Feel like I should have gone to Mabel's gone fishing or ironside instead. Wouldn't return here.

Yelp
Located in the same complex as Wonderland Ocean Pub, this branch of Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill was set up just yards across from the waterfront. Parking in this busy area of Ocean Beach was all curbside and can be tricky to find an open space depending on what time of the day you arrive. The suite was filled with many decorations and photos of maritime memorabilia. There were a couple of glass displays in which you could buy fillets of fresh fish by the pound like at a supermarket. The service counter ordering was similar to many of the local fish shops around town. Different grilled fishes could be prepared as sandwiches, salads, plates, or tacos. Other items like poke, sashimi, soups/chowder, cioppino and raw oysters were also available. I picked a cup of clam chowder and a medium shrimp and crab chilled seafood sandwich for my meal and then sat a table with bench seating. The chowder was smooth and creamy with numerous chunks of clam. The sandwich was toasted and contained lettuce and tomato as toppings to the shrimp and lump crab meat. I thought the freshness of the ingredients stood out. This place was a nice option if you wanted to eat healthy seafood that was not deep fried although you can get that too with the beer battered fish and chips. I had no problem with giving a four star rating for my dining experience at Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill.

Nalani P.

Yelp
I cannot speak more highly of this place. Everyone who helped us was so nice. My friend and I sat at the bar and Davin (I don't know how to spell it) was the bartender. TEN OUT OF TEN. He was so nice and we had so many questions about the bar, he answered them all perfectly. The clam chowder was phenomenal and now I know where to tell people the best clam chowder in San Diego is. And... BREAD BOWL. So good. Music was great, surf videos were great, no complaints.

Shelly S.

Yelp
Great quantity of food for a taco. This was so delicious! Costumer service is also great. Only thing I do have to say is that on days where it is cold and windy they have the door open for servers to get in and out but it makes the place inside so cold. I would recommend to keep the door closed on those days.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Their seafoods are all fresh. My Mom loved the tuna sashimi. We all loved what we ordered. Ambiance is nice and spacious. Service was great. Thanks!

Ruffa G.

Yelp
Friendly staff. Service is good. Beer Battered Fish and Chips- I had better ones. Scallops Plate- somewhat disappointing. There's a lot of pearl- like things in the scallops. It's not sand at all. I kept spitting them out. I didn't enjoy my meal. The combination of rice and salad is not great! It would probably go better with cooked veggies. I was hesitant to try the shrimp nachos, but it turned out great! It's the best dish I have tried here.

Bijou N.

Yelp
Really scenic place near the beach. Delicious with friendly service. It does get very busy but we were able to get lucky when there wasn't too much of a wait. The seafood is very fresh and delicious. I got a tuna melt that came stuffed with tuna and cheddar with tomato and avocado. My baby enjoyed his fresh fish and chips. My husband loved his tombo on jasmine rice with sesame crust, and my mother in law was raving about her Scottish salmon which was super tender. A must visit in San Diego!

Robert T.

Yelp
First time here for my granddaughter Jayleen, she loves Calamari and Blue Water Seafood did not disappoint! Delicious! Customer service was excellent.....food was great as always!

GianCarlo C.

Yelp
Mimosa flights for ten dollars! Incredibly delectable and diverse flavors. The fish tasted so fresh like it was right out of the ocean. Tender and flaky with just a fork paired with some fresh salad and rice. A light but filling meal that left me feeling more than satisfied. It's a fast casual style ordering process where you order at a cashier and choose the fish you want from the display. We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the ocean and the crashing waves while we sipped mimosas. I definitely recommend to check this place out

Ashley A.

Yelp
Stopped here after landing in San Diego to try their fish tacos and saw it was close to Ocean Beach. It's not right on the beach but you can look out and see the Ocean. They have indoor seats, an outdoor eating space and some picnic tables. I tried the Halibut Tacos and Mahi Mahi tacos. Both were fresh (liked the Mahi more) but the Award Winning Taco had so much flavor that my husband tried. It's pricey but worth a try! Order at counter, friendly service and food was brought to our table outside.

LaDonnia P.

Yelp
I would definitely come back to this restaurant. It received great reviews and when I visited at opening (11:30am) there were already people waiting to enter for food and drinks. When you enter there is a fish case where you can purchase raw fish by the pound or request the staff to cook up items special to order. The bar was small and cute and the dining room was spacious and clean. I knew ahead of time I wanted the fried shrimp appetizer and it absolutely did NOT disappoint. I took my order to go and even after my 20 minute walk the shrimp was so crispy. The tartar and cocktail sauces provided were a great enhancement. My ONLY complaint would be the pricing. The website has the shrimp appetizer listed as $14. My order rang up to $15.50 before tax was even added. I do hope this establishment corrects the pricing on their website if inaccurate or provides a reasonable accommodation to me for the overcharging of the item.

Monique K.

Yelp
Our first place to eat on vacation. Ate on the deck/patio. Definitely a casual place, which suited our mood. All four of us enjoyed our food!

Joyce L.

Yelp
Blue Water is a great low key restaurant next to the beach. The food is fresh and you can see the fish in the icebox when you enter. Clam chowder soup with bread was the best I've ever had. The serve was very patiently to recommend the foods and explain to you when I was ordering. Everything was fresh and yum. Great service and great value for the quality.

Chaitra M.

Yelp
One of my favorite fish shops in town for oysters and good company. Love bringing my friends here for lunches and dinners for the delicious dishes and calming views of ocean beach on the patio. The fish is always fresh and the portions for most things are easily shareable. Calamari and poke are my favorite menu items to get here besides the oysters. I also recommend the any of the tacos and the clam chowder. Perfectly sized oysters. The horseradish was horseradishing and so good with their cocktail sauce. Also love that the oysters come pre-detached. I've come here time and time again just for the poke. I love that the fish and seaweed salad come in a separate bowl than the rice/wontons. The wait and counter staff are always super friendly and attentive. They also allow dogs on the patio outside and in the covered outdoor area.

Christopher L.

Yelp
I wanted fresh seafood and I was drawn to this place based on reviews and photos. Service wasn't bad. After we sat down, the food came quick. I had the blackened Ahi because I'd had it before and thought it was amazing. This was good but not as good as the first time I had it. My wife had the Salmon. She didn't rave about it but I tried a bite and thought it was good. It was a wee bit on the pricey side. Considering it's right on the ocean and in Southern California. I would visit again. The ambiance wasn't bad either. We ate on the deck in the late afternoon when it started getting cool out. We weren't dressed for it.

Kristen E.

Yelp
It's a bar with a fish market attached, or else a cafeteria with a deck. You can choose your seafood from the glass case, order your meal and drinks at the counter, and then take a number to your table inside or out. Then a staff member brings your meal to you. Everyone in our party enjoyed their meals, although all but one had leftovers that they ate for lunch the next day. I would have preferred brown rice to white, especially since it was rather dry and bland. Someone who got breading said it was kind of thick, so they ended up taking it off and just eating the fish. Fine dining this is not, but we're glad we came about 6 o'clock on a Sunday, because the line was out the door when we were leaving. I believe there were steps up to enter, so probably not (easily) wheelchair accessible. Gender-segregated bathrooms.

Thuy C.

Yelp
This place is delicious! Simple as that! Everything on the menu is fresh, yummy, and the best seafood and food around. The portions are generous as well and the oysters are the best. 11/10 stars!!!! We had the waffle fries (delicious with blue cheese) Dozen oysters Cioppino Salmon and yellow tail tacos Shrimp plate Everything was flavorful!

Michael G.

Yelp
Ate here before with my Family so we came back again because my Wife liked their Classic Cioppiono . So I ordered Sauteed Mussels and Clams and Classic Cioppino but the Cashier said they were out of Clams and offered more Mussels instead. My wife said okay. Everything went okay, the food was okay, space looked nice. Everything was okay until later my Wife ordered more Toast because she like dipping the Toast in the Broth of the Seafood that we ordered. After 10 minutes I checked on my order of extra toast and the lady in the counter went to check it and she came back and said it was coming out. After another 10 minutes had passed our toast bread had not arrived yet. So I went again and found another lady and she went to the kitchen and came back and said, it's coming out. My Wife was on the phone so she didn't notice the time how long it's been taking for our toast to come out. When she noticed it I saw her eyebrow already up and mad. She went straight to the counter and asked for the Toast that we ordered and didn't leave the counter until she got our toast bread. Total of 30 minutes for an Extra Toast of bread and still have 1 hour before they close with 2 families only inside dining, so what's the delay on our order of extra toast breads?

Kassandra S.

Yelp
I saw this place on Diner's Drive ins & Dives, so I had to try it. It's a really small place, but very popular. Thankfully, there's outdoor seating which makes the space feel less treated. The line is pretty long & you order before you sit down. The food was amazing!! Th Calamari and Onion rings were so crispy. They weren't overly greasy and just so good. The clam chowder was very fresh. Also, a popular dish. Which was great. The shrimp tacos were AMAZING!

Nick C.

Yelp
I love this fish market restaurant! This is the type of fish market restaurant I associate with a trip to San Diego. The fresh seafood is on display as you wait in line to order, and it makes deciding which dishes to get very hard each time. Be sure to pickup a menu but also keep an eye out for the daily specials. I usually get some combination of fish tacos (I particularly love yellowtail and the halibut), raw oysters, and a large bowl of the sauteed mussels and clams. I will say the white wine sauce for the mussels and clams is some of the best I have ever had--it really is a must-get at Blue Water! The service here is very kind every time I have visited, and the staff are also very patient as I often spend some time reconsidering my order last-minute as I learn of a new special. The seating is quite spacious on the outdoor patio, and it is right next to the beach which makes for some awesome views and a great activity before/after the meal. Street parking can be tricky but it is doable. My suggestion is to leave some time to visit/walk the beach at least for a little instead of coming here just for the restaurant since you found a hard-earned beach parking spot to eat here if you drive. I highly recommend coming to Blue Water!

Ali R.

Yelp
Really good seafood. The happy hour is great for both food & drinks. I really like their clams. The bar manager was really chill & pleasant. There are a lot of menu items I still need to try! I think this is a new weekly spot for me!

Heidi M.

Yelp
Good tacos and drinks. Order and pay at the register and you get a number and then you sit down and they bring you your food . Started with the chowder, it was Ok. My husband enjoyed it more than I did. I thought it was average. The cocktails were good. Tacos were great! Very fresh seafood, priced on the high side for one taco. Our dog enjoyed the kids salmon plate (salmon and rice). Inside and outside seating. Friendly staff.

Nick N.

Yelp
Seafood lovers unite!! I will start off by saying that parking a is a bit difficult since there is no private parking lot. Ambiance - The atmosphere is great and the noise level is not that bad. You have the choice of sitting inside at the tables or the bar area or outside. You want to look at the beach with a nice view right? The answer is yes you should definitely sit outside! Service- When you get there you can look at the menu they have available near the door and whenever you're ready you order at the cashier first. You can then choose wherever you want to sit ( outside right?) and then they will bring you your food. You can order alcohol with your food at the counter or if you just want water its self service inside near the bar area. Food - I can tell the seafood here is fresh as its near the ocean! Both times I went here I ordered plates. I tried the swordfish fish with optional avocado and the wahoo fish with blue cheese dressing on the side. The fish was cooked perfectly and was so juicy. However it is kind of on the pricey side, but it's really good you won't regret it! I also tried the house ceviche appetizer with house made tortilla chips which tasted really fresh as well as the calamari. I will keep coming back to this place as I think its frackin awesome! You guys should put this on your list of places to try! Go now as you're reading this!

Tammy L.

Yelp
Fresh fish! I love the bar area. I usually have the rockfish sandwich, but everything I have ordered here has been delicious.

Clythie C.

Yelp
I absolutely crave the rice here and before you laugh, go try it yourself. It's heavenly! Try it with a delicious poke bowl or beautiful sashimi plate and you'll thank me, guaranteed. The coleslaw is great. I'm a coleslaw snob and it's crunchy and creamy and light. The side portion is huge. Sandwiches are fantastic here too and the waffle fries are so good. Listen, we go here because the fish is fresh but there's so much more to compliment at Blue Water. Seating is both indoors and out and you cannot go wrong: outside your steps from the sand and inside, there are tables and a comfortable bar. Try the new mimosa flight which is gorgeous and a good value. Service is order at the counter but they deliver your food and always come back around to be sure you don't need anything else.

Belle V.

Yelp
Our first stop on our trip to San Diego, we were just looking for a casual lunch setting and we found this place on Yelp. Pretty good reviews. It's a small restaurant located close to the beach. We were lucky that they were not so busy cause lunch hasn't started yet. They give huge portions and wait time was not so bad. No table service but it was all good. They have a small bar inside and patio seating. Their clam chowder is one of the best I had.

Shantee D.

Yelp
The view by the ocean is absolutely breath taking! I could just sit there and watch the ocean alone. They have an amazing Happy Hour with reasonable prices. I will definitely be back. The staff at the register were very nice and provided exceptional customer service! My blueberry margarita was very good. I had their grilled fish tacos and I must say they were beautiful and full of all the necessary ingredients, but needed some seasoning! There was not a touch of salt, Lawrys or any of it on the tacos. They were soo bland! Maybe a blackening season would do the trick. They should also offer a selection of hot sauce or salsa to compliment it. After I added salt, the taco was much better but still felt like something was missing.

Robert R.

Yelp
Very good fish tacos (fried ones are the best here IMO) and a good quality fish counter as well. Grilled Rockfish taco was good but not what I was hoping for. Grilled halibut taco was really nice though.

Max D.

Yelp
Pretty gas fish sandwich. Trout teriyaki sandwich which was delicious. Super yummy with great flavor on the fish and cooked perfectly. The sandwich has plenty of fish and flavor. The calamari was also super good. Felt fresh and not to fried. Definitely a go to fish restaurant for me.

Chase T.

Yelp
Good spot for seafood. We had the cioppino, varied fish tacos (they are big!) and salads. The cioppino was good, not great. It was served so hot the broth really couldn't be enjoyed until the meal was almost over. Great flavor though. The tacos were large, flavorful, and the fish was cooked well. It's basically a market with a cafeteria style line and patio. At 5:30 on a Friday probably 1/3 of the seafood was sold out already, so more limited options even for early dinner diners. Staff was friendly but brief as they were busy. Cheers.

Fiona L.

Yelp
Hmm Definitely this is a popular seafood restaurant. A lot of high reviews that attract the first time travelers. I only gave them three stars because 1. The seafood are very fresh and the portion are good but as a seafood restaurant the food's quality, i mean the taste are really so-so. I ordered a fried calamaries and clam chower, there are both salty.can't acceptable. Especially the calamaries. I am wondering if the chef broke his salt box. The sashimi combo probably the winner. But, compare to a sushi store. It is really nothing special here. 2. The service is really sucks. I stand in a line for over 20 minutes to order My food. And spent another 10 minutes to find a staff to help clean out a new table for me. For this kind of service, i still have to pay 20% tips. (rolling My eyes now) For this store, i probably won'treturn Again.

Lester B.

Yelp
Enjoyed a bite of lunch at Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill OB today. The joint has both indoor/outdoor seating directly across from the lifeguard station. Comfortable space with plenty of room to relax and enjoy one's meal. Fresh cuts of seafood greet patrons upon entry. A full bar of spirits & brew serves all who require their thirst sated. The fish sandwich can be marinated & prepared as you desire. Staff is friendly and efficient. Stoner Grub Ranking: 5.5

Steve V.

Yelp
Nice little casual beach hangout and eatery. This is a cool little spot right across the street from the beach. All fish and seafood menu so don't come here looking for a burger or pizza. Get the calamari because it's cooked perfectly and the crispiest I've ever had. The beer battered fish and chips is a huge serving and good for sharing. Nice and crispy batter and it comes with a mountain of cross cut fries. The clam chowder bowl was good. Nothing special about the chowder but the bread bowl was awesome. They also have a fish counter and you can buy raw fresh seafood to take home and cook. There is also a full bar to hang out at. We got there early for lunch so it was pretty laid back and quiet. Nobody was "tuned up" at the bar which can always be a concern in these type places. Pretty mixed crowd. People of all ages and ethnicities. Over all I liked it and it was just what we were looking in a beach community.

Tiffiany M.

Yelp
I used to dream of this place when I moved away from San Diego! It's just so fresh. The grilled fish is buttery, the vinaigrette is lemony and kind of sweet and just pairs so well with the fish. Oysters always fresh and on point as well. AND THE VIEW! Chefs kiss.

Liz N.

Yelp
We went to the ocean beach location for some fresh seafood. We had a party of 8 which I'm glad they had enough tables to accommodate. I got the seabass while my hubby got the snapper. I thought it was good, but some of my other family members said their food was under seasoned. So they needed to add salt or hot sauce. Each fish entree came with a salad as well. The line moves fast and they give you a number. Once you get that number, they will bring the food out to your table.

Crystal B.

Yelp
I was debating between four and five stars because this is the type of establishment where you order at the counter, and they give you a number (it's open seating). The food came out super staggered, and the cashier forgot to give us our bowl of chowder, and we didn't realize we were supposed to get it from her since it was our first visit - so that part was a bit frustrating having to ask for a missed item. I ended up going with five stars based on the food alone because I'd def want to eat here again when in the area. The food really was fresh and delicious - we shared a half dozen oysters, fish and chips, and a bowl of clam chowder. The clam chowder had lots of goodies in it, probably one of the best chowders I've had recently. Tldr: food is delicious, service can be iffy

Terry W.

Yelp
Probably the best meal we had in San Diego. Ultra fresh seafood, stunning variety, friendly and professional staff.

Abby Z.

Yelp
Bloody Mary:will never try again Oyster: fresh and juicy Others: normal. Not worth the price

Lina N.

Yelp
Tried their $1.5 oyster happy hour and as you can see it wasn't the greatest ( see pics) the oyster came out last which is weird and they looked really weird and didn't taste fresh at all. Tacos and calamari were ok. The calamari was over fried. Whoever took our order seemed not happy to be there. Overall, wouldn't come back for sure. Waste of money.

Brittaney C.

Yelp
The clam and mussel plate was amazing and a lot of food! Will definitely order again. Service was great, mimosa flight was pretty good

Peter T.

Yelp
The fish tacos have fallen in quality a bit. The fish is still plentiful and of ultra high quality, but the corn tortilla, slaw, and sauce, are ball park standard. Items that really stick to me lately are the Poke. The ahi, the salmon, the fish is ridiculously fresh. Melt in your mouth fresh. The sauces are a bit sweet flavor wise, but not overly garlicky or green oniony. The fish speaks loud and proud. While the Hawaiian Poke place around the corner is better, blue water's is so so so solid. Easily defeats any of those Poke bowl spots.

David G.

Yelp
Got the track taco. So good! The ocean view from the patio is amazing as well. Good service

Connie X.

Yelp
After seeing reviews on Blue Water, I knew I had to try out their food! Like most other fish markets in San Diego, Blue Water specializes in high-quality fresh fish, served in almost any way you please! Their menu encompasses everything from tacos, to stews, to fish and chips, and plates. Though dinner here was a little pricey, we definitely got our money's worth. As indicated on the menu, their tacos are made with a whole 4-6 oz of fish! Even for someone with a large appetite, I recommend getting 2 tacos for a very filling meal. During my visit, I also ordered a cioppino. Admittedly, I've had better at Hog Island Oyster Co. (in San Francisco), but Blue Water still makes a fantastic cioppino. You can definitely taste the freshness of the seafood they use. All in all, a really delicious and satisfying meal experience here!

YES, EAT HERE!! Have someone save a table outside for your party because the seats are a free for all. as soon as you walk in, fall in line to order. The line was not particularly long but it fet like ordering took forever. then, they give you a number and bring your food to your table. I had: Bloody Mary - good, had some bbq flavor to it. Oysters - fresh as can be! the marinara sauce is so fantastic! Cioppino was so flavorful, and the perfectly cooked scallops was the best part of it. However, the shrimp was way too tough. Last but not least and imo everyone should try, the calamari sandwich! I am already planning a trip back just so I can have the sandwich again. Glad I found this place!

Yelp
Solo dinner for sunset Sunday at Blue Water. I ordered the calamari plate, having only inquired if it was rings or steak. Cashier indicated steak, so I chose the lemon and garlic butter version without asking if it was sauteed or grilled. Unfortunately, it came out breaded and pan fried with what I assumed to be flour or wheat panko. Although most of the breading was only loosely attached and fell off easily, I was very concerned about the gluten affects. I ate salad, jasmine rice and what calamari I could scrape clean. Plain and tasty. Salad had homemade ranch, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce, all very fresh. Water was available in the lobby. White blend wine was reasonably priced and quite awful. The sunset on the glass patio was lovely though! Cashier was also food runner and followed up to see if I needed more wine (I did not). Prices are reasonable, restaurant is very attractive and restrooms are clean. Music (house) is very loud. I think I could come back and order differently, and have the five star experience many others report. Next trip to OB!!

Yelp
We came here for dinner late Thursday and it was mostly empty, which was great as there was no line. You order at the counter and it's self seating. I wanted to try a lot of things on their menu, but had to limit myself. We started with the oysters and ahi & salmon sashimi. Both were very fresh. The sashimi is supposed to come with avocado, but it came with cucumber instead. I don't think the teriyaki sauce went well with the fish, but soy sauce is available. The rice was the wrong kind or just not what I'm used to with sashimi. I also had the scallop beer battered taco and track taco (shrimp). The scallops and shrimp were huge. I would've preferred it if they made each order two smaller tacos instead. I had a difficult time eating them without making a mess. Overall, a great place for seafood.

Yelp
Tasty clam chowder, swordfish tacos are so good, fish and chips don't disappoint and the blackberry margaritas are now our go to. Fresh fish showcase is very impressive. Order good and drinks at register, take your number and find a seat inside or out on the patio. Your food will be delivered to you. Nothing fancy, but plenty of seating to be found. I never come on the weekends, too crowded and parking is a nightmare.

Yelp
So, I was told by a couple of individuals that this place had some good seafood since I am a seafood lover of all kinds. Just a warning, it took a while to find parking until I gave up and did the public parking which was 14 dollars an hr. Crazy but anyhow, the place is a walk up and order style and they bring your food to you if eating there. They have indoor and outdoor seating options with ocean view. My party of two sat outside with the view of the water. So, the service was once every so often check-in so if you needed something immediate you would need to walk to the front. Everyone was nice and friendly who's is always a plus. We ordered the mussels and calamari for appetizers along with fish n chips and swordfish for the mains. The calamari was very good and cooked well, very lightly seasoned if at all but liked it with their tarter and cocktail sauces. They were big pieces of calamari which was a very nice size portion. The mussels took a few bites before they grew on us. I believe they have multiple choices of sauce but ultimately we ate them all. Lol The other member of my party selected the swordfish and was quite pleased with it in the butter sauce. It looked amazing which I kinda wish I had gotten it. However, I was very happy with the fish and chips. It was just fried perfectly and the crust was not to hard with great flavor and tasted fresh. I would absolutely order it again. Overall, great place for seafood. I went back the next day and ordered the fried shrimp and clam chowder bowl, both again great options with healthy portions. The fried shrimp was panko crusted and the clam chowder was hearty with good amount of clams.
