"I've long considered Blue Water Seafood Market & Grill one of San Diego’s original spots for casual, fresh seafood, and its new Ocean Beach outpost expands the original India Street concept the Braun brothers launched in 2004. Brothers and OB natives Matt and Judd Braun, longtime fishermen, stock the retail markets at all their locations with a variety of local seafood that can be grilled with custom marinades or featured in sandwiches, salads, plates, or tacos like the Track Taco, which tops chipotle butter-marinated wild Pacific shrimp with Maui onion and mango slaw. There are frequent specials and a range of other dishes from seafood cocktails and ahi poke to sautéed mussels, fish and chips, and cioppino; Blue Water also joined the concessions lineup at Petco Park last year. The 2,500-square-foot Ocean Beach restaurant is a partnership with local hospitality group Social Syndicate (owners of neighboring Sunset Plaza spots Wonderland Ocean Pub and OB Surf Lodge) and offers considerably more seating than India Street, including large booths, communal tables, and an ocean-view patio." - Candice Woo
