The West London Brunch Guide

"Other than the fact that you might run into the entire cast of Made In Chelsea here, this all-day restaurant on King’s Road is one of the best hangouts in the area. The space is huge, and their outdoor terrace is a great place to be when the sun is out. And you’ll find everything from french toast to a whole grilled lobster on their weekend brunch menu." - rianne shlebak

10 Best London Restaurants For A Group Brunch - London - The Infatuation

"If, between the years 2011-2015, you weren’t watching Made In Chelsea, then kudos. You are better people than we are. But if you were, you’ll know all about Bluebird. This King’s Road spot is a geotag come to life. It’s an all-day cafe where you can relax (but be extremely conscious of how you look in your front camera), and there’s also a bar and lounge attached. Jokes aside, it’s a huge space that makes some decent-ish brunch with classics like avo toast and eggs benedict, and is a great spot for big groups." - Rianne Shlebak, Jake Oliver, Heidi Lauth Beasley

Bluebird London Review - Midtown - New York - The Infatuation

"On the third floor of the Time Warner Center, there’s a big restaurant called Bluebird London. It isn’t quite as fancy as Masa or Per Se (which are in the same building), but most people here will be dressed like they just left a meeting, and the whole place looks like an upscale lounge from the 1960s. The original Bluebird is in London (hence the name), and they serve English-influenced food here, like pork terrine and a beef wellington for two. Generally speaking, it’s all pretty good - although it’s definitely a little pricey, and the service is kind of stiff. So you don’t need to run here, but the next time you need to eat in Midtown with someone who’s entertained the idea of acquiring property in the Hamptons, it’ll come in handy." - Bryan Kim

Bluebird London Debuts First Manhattan Location At Time Warner Center - Eater NY

"The original Bluebird London, located in Chelsea, is a well-known staple for locals. It features a ground-floor cafe with an all-day menu, offering traditional English breakfast, beef Wellington, and gin cocktails. It is a social hub where people gather throughout the day." - Carla Vianna

Coming to Bluebird was a great experience from start to finish. The ambiance was vibrant yet relaxed, making it a perfect spot for both casual outings and special occasions. One of the first things we noticed was how warm and welcoming the staff were—friendly, attentive, and professional. The service was truly top-notch, easily a 10/10. We appreciated the flexibility of having both indoor and outdoor seating options, which is always a plus depending on the weather. We chose to sit outdoor this time as the weather was lovely plus they had the heaters on . For our meal, we ordered a beautifully cooked salmon dish and a plate of gnocchi. Both dishes were excellent—flavorful, well-presented, and satisfying. The portion sizes were just right, leaving us room to try dessert. We couldn’t resist ordering one to share, and it turned out to be a great decision—the dessert was absolutely delicious and provided the perfect end to our meal. Given the central location and the high quality of food and service, we found the prices to be quite reasonable. We paid roughly £90 in total, which included a beer and a cider. We’d definitely come back again and would recommend Bluebird to others!

Google
We sat outside, table for 5. Really friendly service. We had two steaks, burger and chips and I also had the crab starter - all were excellent. Looking at the other guests, next time I'm going to order from the bar snacks instead of a main meal because the chicken burger and burger from the snack menu was very reasonably priced compared to the full menu and they looked a good size too!

Always nice to visit Bluebird - like a grand old lady restaurant on the Kings Road. Always reliable if not spectacular. The setting is gorgeous and it’s looking great for a summer of sport decked out with flowers. Menu always interesting and good selection of wines including by the glass.

Google
Popped here as a lunch treat for my mother. Excellent venue and, for the quality of the food, very keenly priced. Lovely fresh food, and the surroundings are great - there are tables for board games and newspapers in one part. Very efficient and friendly service and loos to DIE for! Fabulous way to spend an afternoon.

Given the warm weather, we chose the pet-friendly outdoor patio. A tip for future diners: definitely try to get a spot under an umbrella for some shade. Be prepared for a relaxed pace; it took a good 15 minutes for a server to reach our table. However, the hostess was a joy. As for the food, it looked fantastic, but sadly, the flavors were quite bland.

Google
Very underwhelmed with this place during the day. Service was extremely slow, had to ask multiple times for assistance. The food was 2/10. The crispy duck salad was pretty much just dried skin and very dry. The meat was no where to be found under the batter.

Google
We had the set menu which was delicious! We had cheddar veloute, salmon maki, gnocchi, pie and sticky toffee pudding! With a glass of prosecco on the side. We will definitely be returning! All food was absolutely delicious. Staff were attentive and the venue was beautiful!

Google
The perfect spot for a Sunday roast! ⭐️ Make sure you book a table in advance ❤️ The staff was very kind and helpful 🥰 food was great but definitely on the pricey side! The burger was 10/10 and the Sunday roast was amazing (the chicken is quite popular)! 🤩

Yelp
Pricey, but worth it. The pasta is actually great, drinks are great, service is great, and this is clearly the place to be. Best ambience in all of London. Nightlife meets supper club meets "I swear I saw her on tv"... especially the more drinks you are in. Went with a friend from London and she did not miss the mark. Try the passion fruit martini. You will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Went here on a Friday for our anniversary dinner, on a suggestion from a friend. The restaurant space is huge and well decorated. Very trendy. We had the bread basket and burrata, both were tasty. I liked the lemon oil! For the entree, we had the beef Wellington, which we both enjoyed too, particularly the bordelaise sauce. The service, however, was severely lacking. After getting our starters, we didn't see our server for 30 minutes. Then, when we ordered the Wellington, he shamed us for not ordering it sooner since it takes a while (45-50 min). After we said we had no problem waiting, he didn't come back for 40 minutes. We are aware Wellington takes time to cook, but the menu should specify to allow extra time because not everyone does know that. Or, the server could mention it when we ordered starters and drinks.

Yelp
I'm torn about giving this place the full 5 stars, as there just seems to be something missing, but given how good the food is, I have to give credit where it's due. The food is TOP-notch; there was nothing that I tried that I didn't like. First off, however, there are three different places all huddled in one place, so when you reserve the spot, make sure you pick the right one. This particular restaurant is on the second level and has a decent view of the street - if you're lucky enough to get a window seat. If not, no worries; it's not the worst-looking place to dine in. I was first struck by how good the cocktails are. Regardless of whether you're cup-o'- tea is tequila, bourbon, or champagne, they will have a twist that is perfect for you. I tried the very tequila-based SW3 cocktail with notes of rose and cucumber-mint; light, refreshing, and mouth-wateringly tart... it's one of the best I've had in a while. The second was the Bourbon Legend with a smooth mix of Maker's Mark Private Select, Woodford Reserve, and notes of cherry and lemon. Again, perfect balance. Foodwise, the menu is pretty seafood-heavy. However, the few meat dishes you'll find are good enough to satisfy the palate: chicken, beef, venison, and duck - all perfectly cooked and paired with the best and most complimentary ingredients. I can vouch for the Venison En Croute, which is 2 semi-cooked venison medallions embraced by a crispy shell, sitting on thinly-sliced beets steeped in sloe gin, surrounded by pickled blackberries and a creamy toasted pine-nut purée. For dessert, you have a modest selection of sorbets, exotic fruits, and a flourless chocolate cake filled with a rich chocolate ganache and paired with Crème Fraîche to cut through that decadent thickness. Is it pricey? Yes, if you're not used to spending almost a £100 in one full meal. But given the area it's in, not only is it not surprising, you could also definitely do worse. The downside: Service can get pretty slow after your main has been ordered, so be ready to wait a while, at some point during your meal.

Yelp
This place and a meal is a Wow, wow and wow experience. The sumptuous main dinning room (and there a several other special event rooms) is astounding. The service is top notch. The food is the highest caliber. The people watching is the main entertainment. Most dressed in their finery. Most youngish age adults who are pretty and well groomed. International crowd. I heard at least 10 different languages being spoken. This place is destination worthy for a special night.

Yelp
Had brunch here and it was amazing - no joke the best French toast I've ever had. The bacon on top really made it complete! The atmosphere is fun inside with lots of great plants and decor. Definitely a "scene" but no complaints about it since the service was friendly and food all lived up the the hype! Would be fun for brunch with a group of friends or someone's birthday!

Yelp
very poor service. snobby attitude. belittled my sisters allergies and dietary restrictions. forgot my drink order. food was okay, not great. certainly didn't make up for the service.

Yelp
11/07/20 Saturday eve, COLD STEAK, WAITRESS FORGOT MY SIDE, poor service I ordered a steak and a side for dinner, the Italian waitress forgot my side, served an almost cold steak (thats probably sitting in the kitchen) steak got cold by the time she delivered the side. I kept waiting for my side, tried to call someone but there's no one around, I wanted to stand but we were sitting on a round booth and I didn't wanna interrupt my friends eating so I was just there frustrated. When I finally reached the waitress she's like I'm sorry, well sorry is not enough, this mistakes do upset your stomach! COLD steak not worth £33 and on top she charged me service charge for the poor service. DISAPPOINTED

Yelp
This review is based on me going one time, only for drinks, and not sitting outside. So you can judge this review based on that... mmmmmk? This place is filled with silly people. You know, the type of Chelsean's who go to spend a lot of money and look good and judge everyone else? It's kind of funny because I feel like I'm starting to write a lot of judgy reviews, but it is my choice to come to these places. WHATEVER I'm getting distracted. I think I'm going through a cocktail phase where I think it's really fun to just try a bunch of cocktails. To be honest with you, all of the cocktails I tried (which was 8 because we are only friends with people who like to share ;) ) were absolutely delicious. And that's saying something!!! They were all really different and beautiful. I especially dug the lychee and rose martini. So, if you're into cocktails, and don't mind spending some dough (no they're not cheap, you're in Chelsea so you can't complain about the price), then come here! Not gonna lie, I'd love to check out this place during the day because everyone talks about sitting outside on their pretty patio.

Johnny B.

Yelp
Service painfully slow, even for a Sunday brunch, which wasn't a brunch or there would be breakfast on the brunch menu- the only offering was Eggs Benedict. No sense of expedient customer service anywhere. Food was okay at best. Ambiance ruined because they let a party in with their dog who barked constantly. It's a shame because they had such a good reputation in the past.

Yelp
I was so disappointed visiting this restaurant. I thought it was a high end restaurant but I was wrong. the service was very poor, I visited with my friends on Saturday evening only to find we were waiting a long time for drinks and even water refills. The staff were lovely but clearly overworked. I would suggest that of you are looking for luxury think twice

Yelp
It a little pricey but what would you expect for the Kings road Chelsea Actually nice sitting outside in the winter and surprisingly have a reasonable and good kids menu Not bad little find at all Sit outside on a couch and enjoy the heather and atmosphere

Yelp
We were extremely disappointed with both the food and service. A friend of mine is vegetarian, and they were not at all accommodating to her diet. The only thing she could order were chips and a salad, both of which were brought out extremely late. Our server substituted a drink that one friend ordered without telling him. She only admitted it when he mentioned that it tasted very different than what he was expecting. She still charged him full price, even though he did not order the drink. Additionally, we had made a note in the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday, which they completely ignored and did not acknowledge. I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
We went to Bluebird for my birthday and the occasion very enjoyable. The atmosphere is buzzy, the food is very good and the setting was intimate but social. Getting there half an hour early meant we had time for a drink at the bar. Great atmosphere, very dim lighting throughout and stylish interior. Ordered two very well made cocktails. Our table was first set right next to the till (and all the coming and going wait staff). We asked to move which involved setting up another table which was done quickly and without issue. The food: scallops, yellowfin tuna tartare and steak for two. The starters were delicious, mainly the scallop dish but the tuna was perfectly nice. Steak was stunning, we devoured it. The bottle of wine we ordered was outstanding and would go back just to have a glass. Would recommend for a trendy, delicious dinner option.

Yelp
I had lunch here and really enjoyed it. The location and atmosphere were really pleasant as were the waitresses. I had the fried baby squid, chilli & lime for starter and the grilled yellowfin tuna with cauliflower tabbouleh for main. The fried squid was delectable! I would go back just to order two servings of this. The yellowfin tuna was also good. Great spot for lunch and would love to come back in warmer weather to sit outside with some drinks!

Yelp
My friend and I happened upon Bluebird while wondering around Chelsea. The café area is a perfect place to enjoy lunch on a sunny day. Seating outside includes couches, tables, or at the bar. Various flowers and greenery help give the place a garden party vibe. The menu for the cafe area is simple, but allows you to enjoy a lighter meal as well as a glass (or two) of beer or wine. For my meal, I chose the Croque Monsieur, a sandwich with ham and adorned with melted emmental cheese on top, paired with a salad and fries. The sandwhich was so good, especially after a morning of sightseeing that built up an appetite. Paired with a glass of one of their red wines, this was a perfect place to unwind and relax.

Yelp
After a long day, my family came to Bluebird for dinner. We started out with getting truffle fries, which came with fresh truffle and were delicious. My mom and I split the summer salad, consisting of tomato carpaccio, grilled artichokes, tapenade, watercress, and hazelnuts. The tapenade really made this salad outstanding to me. We also split the whole wild seabass for 2 with fennel salad, samphire, and artichoke. I was not a huge fan of the fennel salad, but everything else was delicious. The dish was well seasoned and kind of reminded me of something you could sit down in Greece and be served. At the end, my family all split the pavlova which you obviously cannot go wrong with. The service was friendly and relatively quick. Personally, I did not appreciate the calories being posted on the menu, but this is a side critique of mine. Overall, I would definitely come back or recommend checking out Bluebird to another!

Yelp
I ate here with my parents on our recent trip to London. We ate here on our first night as it was close to the place we were staying and I'd read good reviews. This ended up being our least favorite meal of the entire trip and I would not recommend the restaurant. We arrived for our 6:00 PM reservation and was told the table was not ready! Crazy as the place was pretty much empty except for patrons at the bar. So, we ordered up a couple of glasses of champagne while we waited. The restaurant is fairly large with an open plan and the decor was somewhat odd. The waitstaff and wine steward were friendly and knowledgeable, but we felt that the service was rushed. We started with the Buratta, which was divine, and the 24 months prosciutto, which had a delicious packed quince sauce. My Mom had the handmade gnocchi and loved them, while my Dad ventured out and ordered the Grilled calf's liver, which he said was divine. I went out on a limb and ordered the mackerel, a fish I'd never eaten before. It was salty and flavorful. Overall, I'd give the food high marks but wouldn't go back due to poor service and atmosphere. I think it would be a better place to go for drinks and appetizers when the weather is warm and you can sit outside.

Yelp
Just went in for a drink at the bar. Very pretty botanical interior. We Ordered: 1. The Botanist: Sparkling cocktail with Gin, fresh passion fruit puree, rosemary, campari, watermelon syrup, topped with sparkling wine! This drink was delicious and i would get it again and again!

Yelp
Good food and service. Excellent drinks menu too. Went with my daughter having seen it on Made in Chelsea. Fun place for youngster's to hang out place - great vibe. She's planning to go with a group of her friends...

Yelp
Nice food, lots of spaces for intimate dining at this London Favorite

Yelp
I would say I'm somewhat neutral on Bluebird. While they have a really nice patio and lovely interior you are walking right into the core Chelsea crowd. If you like that and are ok with that vibe then it's a decent place either for a meal or for drinks. I've had only booze there and it was a decent experience at a King's Road price.

Yelp
I would have left fewer stars had the Yelp system allowed for it. I used to live in London years ago and this place used to be amazing. Now, a shell of its former self it's a train wreck. I got the pleasure of waiting 15 minutes for the person to show up to seat me in a wide open patio. Then, once seated, we waited 20 minutes to ever get a waiter to attend to us (of course I had to walk across the patio and nearly slide tackle him). Once we ordered a bottle of champaign and meats, we were promised a bucket of ice for the champaign (which I am still waiting for and not very hopeful now that we are 30 minutes into that empty promise). The low point probably came when the waitress with her blank stare seemed severely challenged with taking our water order. Apparently asking for bottled still water was severely beyond her capabilities. My suggestion, shop in their market and keep walking down the road....better meals lay ahead.

Yelp
Visited this restaurant 4 times now. I remember each visit because it is EXCEPTIONAL. They treat you like a VIP. Great ambiance service energy and food. A very very very nice experience each and every time. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Lovely little place located in charming Chelsea neighborhood in London. Great little salads and the lunch menu is good. A nice place to spot English celebs.
google avatar

Yelp
I echo other reviewers' comments in the quality of the food. We had three dishes and all three were bland and nothing that I would pay Bluebird prices for. Service, however, was attentive and the atmosphere was nice. Game terrine - bland. Toast was hard as a rock. Pan roasted plaice - felt like it was more bones than meat on the fish. Spinach was soaked in oil. Flourless chocolate cake - inconsistent as parts were dry and others were moist.

Meike B.

Yelp
I hadn't been to the Bluebird in years, but finishing a meeting early on a sunny day reminded me of its existence. The location is perfect for enjoying a relaxed lunch outdoors. But that seems to be the only thing going for it these days. The service was the worst I have ever experienced in an upmarket restaurant. We had a total three waiters attending to us, but to very little avail. We completely threw them by asking one of them to wipe our table (covered in crumbs) which resulted in our water order to be taken back to the bar and not be brought back for ages. An embarrassment as I was entertaining a business guest from Germany! I suppose it's not the waiters' fault that the Bluebird Club Sandwich looks like a burger - but why? Tasty enough, though. PS a far cry from a private party I enjoyed here a few years ago
google avatar

Carrie B.

Yelp
OK food, not that great of service. Great drink menu. This is definitely a fun hang out place; the crowd was young, hip, talking and enjoying the great drinks. I would love to come back here with the girls, but I would not recommend it for general dinner.
google avatar

Hailey H.

Yelp
Awesome Bloody Mary's! We had eggs Benedict which were average and arrived long before our drinks. Service wasn't the best. This is a trendy spot. You can sit outside in the courtyard, go to the cafe or to the restaurant inside. I will be back to experience Blue Bird for dinner!

Yelp
Went here for our last big night in London with the family and found it very satisfying. Quick disclaimer - my cousin and her hubs both loved this place as it was the site of one of their first date location, but were slightly disappointed in our experience. The food was delish. I ordered the salmon and started with the heirloom tomato salad. The burata in the salad was some of the best I've had! The salmon was good - very tender but the sauce with it was a little bitter for my taste. The boys split the steak and allowed me to steal a bite. It was so tender and melted in my mouth. I wish I would have ordered it! The service was only so-so. The servers seemed irritated when we asked for more water and ketchup - super silly things I know. The room was also extremely hot. We requested that they turn up the AC and they seemed bothered with this as well. I assumed that as a nice, relatively expensive restaurant, asking for this shouldn't be a huge deal. Despite this though, I'm sure my cousin will go back. It might not be my first choice if/when I'm back in London.
google avatar

Yelp
Pricey, trendy, cool ambiance and a very big space. Food was pretty good and service is attentive. I quite enjoyed my artichoke rigatoni and olives snack. Honestly it's a perfectly good restaurant if you're in the hood, nothing wrong with it!
google avatar

Megan Q.

Yelp
We came for dinner and had an excellent time but I was so terribly disappoint with Easter brunch. The food was awful and service even worse. I won't go back after this experience because it just left a bad taste in my mouth. We chose bluebird because they had a kids egg hunt which was also kind of a bust. Lesson learned.
google avatar

Dominique R.

Yelp
I booked a table at Bluebird for dinner through OpenTable because of my love for Made in Chelsea having seen it so many times on the show. It was perfect. It's huuuuge! There's a cafe section, a huge outdoor bar area and a massive restaurant with another circular bar which you can sit at. All the staff were so friendly, sweet and attentive, I felt happy and relaxed the whole evening. We got a fantastic deal of 2 courses with a glass of wine for £20 from the set menu. The food really surprised me it was excellent! I had a pea risotto which was a huge portion and really cheesy and tasty! For pudding, as I have a nut allergy and was a little limited I was able to choose from the a la carte menu for no extra charge. I had a wonderful Chelsea evening here, it was exactly as I had hoped =] Will be coming back here fo sho!

Caitlin K.

Yelp
Passed by this place and thought it looked sweet. The veggie burger was fairly good but the service was terrible. No one checked in on me throughout the meal and the order didn't write down the order and ended up getting it wrong. Would not recommend.
google avatar

Hansen O.

Yelp
I came here for a Sunday brunch. It was a fair deal at 25 pounds for two courses - I ordered the chili fried squid as my starter and the pork belly with a lentil stew as my main. It was a very good ambiance- and drinks were expensive to match. Portion size was sufficient and not stingy. Overall a good experience.
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
It's a good looking restaurant with good looking people to look at while you're sipping on a few cocktails. A bit on the expensive side, but that's what you get when you're hanging out in the middle of Chelsea. I really love all the cocktails. Especially the jug of cooler you can order while enjoying the sun outside in their fake grass patio. I ate here once, and it's nothing worth mentioning. But If you're looking for good drinks and scene than this place is worth of a visit.

Yelp
Sexy as feck! We went here for work when a VP from the US was in town. The decor is soooooo cool .. very converted warehouse, amazing lights, cool little bar. The food was pricey but not that different from other sexy spots in town 25 squid for a filet steak, , , , Food was lush, wine was lush, basically a 'tidy' experience! Only reason it doesnt get 5 stars is we had to wait 15 mins for our first drink ...

Yelp
It feels like a little complex around here - the Bluebird name has been attached to a vaguely pretentious deli, a quite seriously pretentious clothes shop, a not quite pretentious enough café and this, the restaurant. It's a big open place, a little bit brasserie in style with lots of Conran design points in the lighting, tables and stylistics choices. The food is British mostly, with pies, roasts and game featuring fairly prominently on the menu. I had the chicken and mushroom pie when I was in - I think it was about £10 which is quite a bit but I was quite impressed with the quality, the pastry and the accompaniments were spot on. The price goes up a lot when you add more meat and effort to the plate and the roast is just under £20. It's all pricey but say on a Sunday lunch it's cool.
google avatar

Ian R.

Yelp
Utterly exasperated at how terrible the service is in here... Brusque, uninterested, slow, condescending. Really, it is that awful. What makes things even worse is that the food isn't even good in order to redeem things. So to summarise: bland, rude, overpriced. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
google avatar

Cady G.

Yelp
This review is for the upstairs restaurant only. Honestly, meh. I live close to Bluebird and would always see this place buzzing with lines of fashionable people waiting to get seated. I figured this had to be good and planned to meet a few friends here for dinner. I quickly realized this place is all glitz without much substance behind it. The ambiance is wonderful - we were led to a huge dimly-lit room full of a lot of beautiful people celebrating birthdays, out for a nice dinner, etc. The menu looked appealing enough. While pricey, they had a wide range of selections that were enticing. While I like to get value in my dining experiences, I am always willing to pay a bit more for a great meal, so the price was not necessarily a negative for me. At my group of 4, each and every single one of us were underwhelmed with our meal at every stage (starter, main, and dessert). The food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great or even good either. Coupled with the hefty price tag that came along with the meal, it just wasn't really worth it. Even in an expensive city like London, I could have gotten a meal that was tenfold more enjoyable for the price I paid at Bluebird. Additionally, the service was slow an unattentive, which is interesting because we didn't sit down to dinner until 9:30, so the restaurant was slowing down. I found myself frustrated at the lags in getting our wine glasses refilled, the delay in the bill presentation, etc. If you're looking for a great meal, I'd say walk past. If you're looking for a trendy scene for some drinks at the bar, this might be okay. Just be warned you will be paying a lot more for what you're getting out of it.

Yelp
Firstly, it's an amazing room and building this. Really impressive. Huge, round, central bar with a fantastic, oblong chandelier above. It's just by the entrance to the restaurant so it's impressive as you walk in. The decor is fantastic. The bar serves great cocktails. A good start. We reserved a table here throught the Evening Standard deal - 3 courses for £25, including a glass of champers. It's a set menu, which we expected, and the host reminded us, as soon as we were seated, that this was the deal we would be getting. It did feel a little condescending, but maybe I was being sensitive? Ordering out the way, we managed to have ourselves a really fun night in here. It was busy and bustling. The food was decent. I've had muuuuuch better smoked salmon from Sainsbury's, the venison was tasty but small and the dessert I opted for; super-rich. All in all, a pleasant evening and experience. But, as we remarked to each other upon leaving, I would feel disappointed to pay through the nose for the food we had. There is much tastier and better value dining experiences to be had elsewhere.

Yelp
So Chelsea is close by and we haven't explored the area much and decided to head here for dinner and drinks. We were totally undecided on the venue and just decided to walk down King's Road and pick. We both were drawn to walk into Bluebird Chelsea. The cafe is cosy and quiet. I am sure it makes for a beautiful summer evening out. I will go back here just for the prawns with chili miso glaze....magic...pure magic. For mains I had the southern fried chicken and the husband had mussels. Both were really good! I couldn't finish my chicken though. There was some good red wine to go with it. I know white would be a better pairing with our food choice..but it was a cold evening...and we both prefer red. Staff is nice, service is quick. Ambiance as I said is good. Best to finish an early meal here and head to the Bluebird Chelsea Bar upstairs.

Yelp
An elegant, upscale brunch place which is literally the spitting image of what I'd create like if I had the money, skill, and any kind of talent or eye for design. The art deco, white building set back against the King's Road of Chelsea is a beautiful dining experience. It's definitely where you would take your fiance's parents or a long courted girlfriend. It makes for a 'dress-up' fancy brunch out with the girls to eat up not only the the Anglo-French menu but the airy, splendidly grand structure of the interior. Menu items are typical of brunch, with eggs served up in fancy ways and the lunch menu appeared to be fairly standard as well. What you wouldn't expect is all the little extras of the cafe, such as wine cellar boasting 750 bottles of vino and the adorable shop where you can buy your favorites to take home with you. The cocktail list here is actually impressively long - perfect for a boozy afternoon. There is an outdoor courtyard and the afternoon tea area as well. Amid stunning presentation of the food, the thing that didn't make me fall instantly in love with it, is that the food seemed to be missing some of the finesse I would expect of an established brunch haven of Bluebird's fame. The side salads were not quite there, small and with the dressing being thin and meek. The eggs royale were fine, of course, but nothing to take them over the edge of everyday eggs royale anywhere. I had similar comments from the other guests are our table in regards to the salmon as well. I will definitely be returning, but perhaps for cocktails or afternoon tea (or both).

Yelp
The decor and people-watching opportunities are so good, I paid £14 for a champgane cocktail (which was, to be fair, lovely). They film Made in Chelsea here. Make of that what you will.

Yelp
With an extremely promising exterior, I wanted to make this the first meal I would take my friend to when he arrived to London. I expected a high bill, but I also expected super high quality. I definitely received a high bill, but the quality of food was insanely week. I ordered salmon fishcake and wound up with a deep fried ball of mashed potatoes and some ground up salmon within it and about 6 spinach leaves sprinkled on the size. Our house wine was pretty average, and my friend had a bizarre chicken pot pie with all the bits separated. Ambiance on the inside was an investment banker's dream, and it was obnoxiously loud. Go elsewhere for the price. Definitely.

Yelp
Reading the reviews, I'm not surprised that this place only has 3 stars. I booked for a Sunday lunch with friends, which puts you in the upstairs restaurant that was nearly deserted. The downstairs front garden area is the place to be and attracts a queue, but I don't think you can book for that. On the other hand, I think Bluebird is one of the better known places on King's Road, and the decor is very upscale and classy. So the type of brunch you would put on makeup and a nice dress for, not like shorts and flip flops. When we got to the table, a few of our friends were running late so we tried to order mimosas... the waitress didn't know what a mimosa was, but she suggested the cocktail menu, and before we knew it, we had a long list of champagne cocktails to choose from. I got the Flirtini and it was delicious, and my friend got the Tiffany Rose and said that was great too. They're not cheap and will cost you more than your meal, but champagne is always fun for brunch. For my main, I got the burger because I had seen it on the blackboard outside the restaurant, and I was very disappointed. There was nothing special about it, and I even felt that it was underseasoned, as the meat had no flavor. I got the polenta chips as a side instead of normal chips, and those were oversalted but at least unique. They also messed up my friends' eggs benedict and eggs royale orders, as they asked for the sauce on the side and when it came with sauce poured all over it, we had to send it back. Luckily the replacement came within 5 minutes. Overall I'd say the food was a letdown, but the decor and the drinks make this place worth going. And next time I'd love to try the garden area and stick around to peek around the shop and the bakery. The whole place is beautiful, just wish the kitchen could keep up!

Yelp
(This review is for the Cafe at Bluebird) I came here on a late Saturday afternoon and the place was crammed with people. Even though there was a bit of a line to get seated it took under 10 minutes to get a table. The service was a bit slow and my food came out almost 25 minutes after my friends, so luckily we were in no rush.. I had a nice salad with butternut squash and goat cheese which was nice and a good size. After we ate we stayed at the table chatting and drinking for quite a while and even though the place was busy we didn't feel pressured to leave or hurried in anyway. The manager came over at one point and very kindly asked if we would mind moving to another table as he needed ours for a reservation. We happily moved and were pleasantly surprised when the manager sent over a few glasses of free Moët. Nice buzzing atmosphere and beautiful outdoor courtyard. I am eager to go back in the summer when it's sunny and warm.

Yelp
This review is based on drinks alone. We went here for my sister-in-law's 30th birthday party. The decor is stunning in this large bar and restaurant, reminiscent of the inside of a beautiful ship. The cocktails were fruity, icy and alcoholic = me likey However they were unnecessarily expensive = me no likey The staff were friendly and the area that was reserved for our private party was quite large. My only complaint was that it was also right next to the entrance so there was a lot of other people in the area, not so private. I would love to come back and try the food but judging by other reviews I would do so at my own risk. When I was there the restaurant was packed and the food looked beautifully presented, so I might still give it a go.

Yelp
I have been here a couple times before and it has never dissapointed. This is always a great place to go, with a big variety on the menu. The cheeseburger is always safe, in fact it's incredible, you must try it. Apart from being quite tricky to get a table if you come for a late lunch it is usually quite easy to get a table for two or four people for a brunch. Brunch is certainly my favourite time to come anyway. A very cool outdoor area with decent service but a great location being in central Chelsea. It is a very fashionable place to eat so I would definitely suggest making the trip there with a small group just to check it out. They make a very good Bloody Mary.

Yelp
A few years back I lived round the corner and never made it to the Restaurant. A welcome opportunity came up to go and have dinner, but did the Restaurant live up to the hype and everything I'd heard about it? It had a lot to live up to but i think on the whole this is a good Restaurant. The food is good quality, the atmosphere is superb and the service is great. No complaints so far. The bill was a little on the steep side for what we had but no more than you would pay in other high end restaurants. What nobody told me about and What i like the most about this place is that it has one of the most superb selection of Vodkas and Gin's I've come across. If you like these spirits you are in for a treat, (i recommend the Hamersmith local Gin!) the staff are well versed in what goes with what and the history of the different brands. They also have a few good looking private function rooms which look great. I'd have given this 3 stars but the excellent bar and atmosphere brings it up to 4. So in summary a hidden gem of a bar with slightly above average food in the restaurant.
