I'm pretty sure this place will be busy any time you go there, so just a heads up. Maybe don't go if you're starving. It was totally worth the wait. I got the lemon cheesecake French toast, and they were amazing. The bread was brioche, and the whole meal was just delightful. Great coffee, too! I feel like you couldn't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Busy Saturday but we chose to sit at the bar. Menu has tasty sounding food with great variety. Lauren and Sam took attentive care of us. Opted for coffee with a kick! Bourbon cream and milk & honey did NOT disappoint. Food arrived in a timely manner. One order was blue crab cake. Delish, but one poached egg was undercooked with a runny white. Other dish was roasted mushroom omelet with browns & ww toast. Omelet was very good with the demi glaze complimenting the mushrooms. Mushrooms were either clumped together overwhelming the balance of egg and cheese while sparce in other areas of the omelet. Browns are amazing as is the whole wheat toast. Took home a lemon square for later. Will visit again!

I was hungry and me and my friend decided to check Blue eggs out I looked at the reviews and they were pretty good so we went and when I say omg the parking lot was packed. I’m like this food must be good. We went in and the host set us at the table right away I just knew we were going to have to wait because of how packed it was in there but any way The waitress came to the table her name was Gime She was so nice. She asked us had we ever been there before we told her no so she started explaining the menu to us we placed our order food came out. It wasn’t steaming hot. It was OK but it tasted delicious. Very good food. Gina was really cool. Very nice lady. I wish we had more Gina’s.

Amazing food, great selection including daily chef type specials. Suggest a reservation as they were busy on Saturday for brunch. I was shocked to learn they also have a James Beard award and now we understand why; the food is amazing…truly 5 star

August 2025: I went to lunch at Blue's Egg on a Tuesday afternoon with my mom and her dog. It was about 12:45PM and we were seated right away outside. My mom has a walker and we had a stroller for the dog and the hostess was very accommodating- she offered a larger table for us to sit at so we could fit comfortably. Our waitress was very friendly and fast. My mom and I shared the Bowl of Rejuvenation (sauce on the side) and the Turkey Clubhouse with fries. We loved both of the dishes!! The bowl had fresh and healthy veggies, great textures, and we both felt the sauce wasn't necessary. The sauce had a great tomato flavor but we enjoyed the vegetables and farro as they were. The sandwich was also delicious! The bread was toasted and fresh and the house-roasted turkey was great and went perfect with the sun-dried tomato and cranberry spread. At the end of our meal, we ordered a slice of silk pie to go and enjoyed that as well! Overall, our lunch was a 10/10 and we can't wait to go back!

Wow, this was a great find! Thank goodness we had reservations, the place was packed when we got there at 10:15 am on a Wednesday morning! It was not too far from the American Family stadium! The food was so delicious and big portion too! My favorite was the monkey bread, the caramel sauce was outstanding! It was pretty noisy because the place was really busy until about 12 noon!

A Milwaukee staple! do yourself a favor and schedule a reservation!!!! Expect to pay at least $15/person per plate. Prices caught me off guard - this place is expensive! The food is great! Loved the back area that feels like an entirely different restaurant. Staff were all so wonderful and sweet. The bakery items were WAY to sweet for me, but I must say their selection is full of different flavors and goodies.

First visit to blue’s egg and it was great. I believe our server’s name was Sam. It was his first day on the floor alone and you could’ve sworn he was a vet server for Blue’s. Friendly, to the point, and informative. We already decided we needed to come back based on his recommendations before we even ordered. The food was pretty good. Can’t wait to come back to try the stuffed hashbrowns. Thank you Sam for a great experience! Side note: Having Valentine’s coffee was a huge bonus.

Dear Reader, If I am going out for a proper breakfast, I require two things: good brunch and a superb Bloody Mary. This fabulous gem provides both! The Bloody Marys are robust with flavor and the dishes are delicious. Curious about stuffed hash browns? They are well worth the up charge; especially the leek and mushroom version. While many meals come with standard hash browns, upgrading is a choice you won't regret. If toast feels too 2025, I highly suggest upgrading to a pancake or a waffle. A final tip: reservations are wise, but if your party is just one or two, you can take yer chances on snagging a seat at the counter for a true diner experience! Yours truly, A Most Pleased Bruncher

I was supposed to meet a friend at Blue's, but last minute had to cancel on me. I was not about to skip breakfast! I'm so glad I stayed. Blue's has that classic diner feel. It was hopping for a Monday morning! The coffee was spot on and exactly what I needed it. I drink it black, so I'm not hiding any flavor. My server, Kellen, was great and quick with the recommendations. I chose one of his faves which is their Browns (hash browns cooked in clarified butter). I added pork to top that off. It was a generous portion so I'm glad I didn't over order. I guess eggs would have been good - but anyway... I ended up taking home what I couldn't finish along with an order of their monkey bread. Yummmm... I am definitely planning on coming back with my partner in tow. He will LOVE this place.

I'm glad we made a stop here. The place has a kind of diner feel, definitely a retro vibe they're going for. There's not a ton of tables, but the wait didn't sound like it was very long. Based upon the folks that came in, it sounds like they take reservations or have a wait list you can join before arriving, so that helps cut down on the wait. They also have a counter at which you can sit. They ask that you include all chicken, including infants, in your table size when putting your name in. You can sip on some coffee while you wait for your table; the coffee will be added to your bill after you're seated. The women at the reception were friendly and very helpful as I placed my order, and they gave my kiddo a couple of kids menus and let me take some stickers and crayons for her to keep her occupied whilst waiting. I'll admit that I was a bit annoyed that I had to come here to place an order, and then wait, because they don't put their full menu on their online ordering system. Much of the menu didn't sound like something I'd want to eat (except for maybe the hoppel poppel, minus spinach) but more importantly, I thought they had to have a kids menu--which also wasn't on their online system--since I didn't want to order a big meal for a toddler. So for this inconvenience, they lose a star. I ordered their special browns, the Wisconsin browns, and it was pretty good. I actually can't even remember what all was in it, but I enjoyed it, but just that problem where it wasn't on their online system, ostensibly because it is a special. My favorite thing from here was the monkey bread, which was yummy. They sell two versions, one with bourbon sauce. Although we got two of them, I didn't try the bourbon sauce and I'm not sure it would improve this pastry for me. We also got a couple of the lemon lavender cookies, and those were really really good. I'm not someone who is usually much a fan of lavender but it wasn't so strong that I couldn't eat it. The flavors melded really well and even the next day, when I ate it, it was moist. I would consider going back here. As I said, the staff were nice. But outside the browns and the monkey bread, it's a fairly standard breakfast menu. The browns that were on the menu didn't tickle my fancy and I don't generally head to a restaurant just to order eggs and bacon; I want an omelet I'm craving, or a kind of hotcakes that looks scrumptious. I'm not sure if they have an instagram that they update with specials, but I'd check there to see if something piqued my interest, or if I was in the neighborhood I'd eat here, but might not go out of the way away to do so. There is a lot of parking in the parking lot and it was easy to find a spot on the Saturday morning I came by. I think they also have some outdoor seating, though it wan't particularly warm this day so they may not have been using it.

Food, service, drinks...everything was amazing AND they support public radio! We got cake pops and lemon squares on our way out the door also!

Was excited to try. Staff was great. Ambience and environment was welcoming and pleasant. Food was good but "heavy" and "rich". Got heartburn both times and I typically don't have that problem. Thought the first time was a fluke so tried again and tried something different and both times, myself and my party had heartburn/tummy issues.

Service was exceptional. Gina knew the menu to perfection and was one of the best waitresses we have had on our trip, wish we were here longer the food and service makes us want to try the other two restaurants that the same people own. Food was great with large portions. Some might consider price a little high but with traveling you find that you do get what you pay for more often then not. This is not a greedy spoon but instead a well thought out menu with fresh ingredients, great presentation and great Taste!

The food were really yummy. I got the mushroom omelette. It came with a huge block of crispy hasbrown and your choice of toast. Chose challah toast by their recommendation, smear the butter and berry jam, so toasty so yummy! The omelette was perfectly seasoned, just the right amount of cheesyness, loaded with mushroom, egg so soft. Can't go wrong with this pick. The hubby got fried chicken sandwich. The bun was soft and perfect for this meal. Chicken juicy and crispy. The sauce gives a nice sweetness. Beware, it's a messy eat. Came with a side of fries, yummy. The portions are huge. The price are like california prices. The staffs were really nice and helpful. For kiddos, they gave out crayons and drawing paper with food images to color. So cute and fun. This restaurant has a lot of capacity. Upon entering, it looks like a normal-smaller-ish diner, but there is more sitting area past the hallway. It's huge. I'm sure they get really busy during weekend brunch.

We went on New Years Eve for breakfast, there was a 15 min wait which was fine so we decided to sit at the bar. The service was exceptional!!! The bartender/waitress was very nice and informative. The coffee was AMAZING! Also, our food literally came out in less than 10 mins even though the place was packed. The food was so good, we will be back soon!

Everything about Blue's Egg is what I love about this uniquely wonderful establishment that serves an unbelievably large and varied breakfast/brunch/lunch menu from 7am-3pm daily. The menu features several daily specials and every day one of those specials is chosen to donate the proceeds that came from that item ordered to a community charitable entity. Next, you would assume that this is the largest home in the neighborhood and all the Moms and Dads and Grandparents are making all the food and the teenage kids are serving the entire neighborhood. It's like Cheers for breakfast and brunch. It (I believe) is family- owned and I know there are at least 2 generations working there and they treat you like family on your first visit and forever more. I haven't experienced this level of warmth, excellent service even at 5-diamond restaurants. The menu is vast and changes daily with various specials. I am working through the breakfast items, starting ordering a few lunch items and those that are a combo (brunch items). I have been there 1-2 days a week for the past 4 months and have yet to have anything that hasn't been superior. It is a diner ambiance with a Grandma's kitchen feel to it - I would give them 10 out of 5 stars if I could - there is not a thing you can find less then optimal at Blue's Egg - and don't get me started on the bakery items and scratch made pies and chantilly cream pies!!!! P.S. they serve coffeehouse coffee decrease, great bloody Mary's and a variety if mimosas and spiked coffees as well. Treat yourself to the best place in town - you'll be hooked!

How could you be disappointed with Blues Egg little bit of a classic diner feel with creative breakfast dishes. We did make a reservation for a Saturday morning since in my experience it can get pretty busy. It was starting to get busy when we arrived, but we were seated right away. Our server, Jose, was fantastic I loved how he grabbed our drink order right away and noted how is was available to discuss options if we were indecisive. My friend and I hadn't seen each other in a little while so we spent some time catching up and were delayed on taking a look at the menu to make our food choice. He moved the the salt shaker to the edge of the table and said move this back when you're ready for me. Saving his time and letting us talk with no interruption, we loved it! The menu has a good selection of options, including some rotating options for daily specials and the rotating Egg Plate of the Month that a portion of sales go to a charity. I got the Guacamole on English and my friend got the Bowl of Rejuvenation. Everything was so delicious and I really liked the hash browns. Our whole experience was great and we would for sure come back!

I ordered a carry out order and got the Blue's Hoppel Poppel and an iced coffee. When I got there the hostess was great grabbed my order for me right away. The hoppel poppel is scrambled eggs, cream, zesty sausage, bacon, caramelized onions, shredded potatoes, spinach, hollandaise and a side toast - I chose challah. You get a hefty portion and all the flavors work great together - especially the hollandaise sauce on top. I wish there was a bit of spice to balance out the richness of the sauce next time I order I'll see if I can add jalapeños to it. The iced coffee was great and not bitter - I'd order it all again!

Brunch Sunday morning? Yes, please! This weekend I tried Blue's Egg with a friend on Sunday. First impressions... the atmosphere was nothing special and dimly lit for a brunchy restaurant but very cozy! I would say the same goes for the food. I thought it was kind of pricey for what we got, but was pretty tasty nonetheless. For example we paid about $10 for a side of chorizo hashbrowns. In the future, maybe I would opt for a French toast or pancake dish. I would like to add that we sat at the counter. The server did a fabulous job of giving us an overview of their menu and also added that anywhere it said toast you could upgrade to French toast. The menu was extensive (but overwhelming). I wish they would have noted this regarding the French toast upgrade on the menu because it was delicious. It's definitely the menu item you HAVE to get if you check out this neighborhood spot. Finally, there was also PLENTY of parking which was very convenient! Overall, a good experience but probably doesn't make my must-try list.

I returned to Blue's Egg the weekend of April 11, 2025. I was underwhelmed and so disappointed. I ordered the corned beef hash. The potatoes were varying sizes and, as a result, many of the potato pieces were VERY undercooked and therefore stiff and difficult to eat. There are cheap choppers you can purchase to cut potatoes to uniform sizes. There were also potato skins, which I dislike on a dish like this. Later in the day I developed incredible gas and stomach upset. I couldn't figure out what was wrong until the next day when I decided to eat the leftovers I had brought home. Surprise! I found pieces of scallion in my hash. While I love the flavor of onion, onion dislikes me and I don't eat it anymore. There was NO mention of onion on the menu when I looked at it online, and I do not recall onion mentioned on the in-house menu. Onion is not usually found in corned beef hash. I was so disappointed.

Getting a table here is pretty difficult on a weekend but it's worth the wait! We put our name down on MLK Jr. Day and got two seats at the bar in about 20 min. We really enjoyed both of our dishes and thought that the portions were a great size! We came hungry and left very full and content. The bartender/woman behind the counter was super kind and even dropped off some grapes while we were waiting for the food. It is a little funny to have people standing waiting for a table right behind you. But overall I totally understand why this place is so popular

Highly recommend this place! The hot chocolate hit the spot in this cold weather and though I'm not usually a fan of crab cake because it tends to be too dry for me, but Blue's Egg's crab cake was flavorful and juicy. The service was also very polite!

This year, I chose Blue's Egg to celebrate Valentine's Day. It was the perfect choice! My boyfriend and I enjoyed that as soon as we checked in with our reservation we were seated and enjoying our appetizer: Wisconsin Browns. Within minutes our meal was out and we both had our benedict of choice and shared the Monkey Bread. Our meals paired nicely with their specialty drink: Cupids Mimosa. As always, the business was popping yet the service was never slacking. There were plenty of groups around the dining room enjoying a Saturday brunch with family and friends. We were in and out within an hour and I was thankful to spend my meal with my Valentine at Blue's Egg.

Everything about this place was incredible and I will definitely go back too many good things to pick from. Service was spectacular as well.

Met my aunt and my uncles here this morning with my dad and son. We had a 6 top and we got sat right away. I have a feeling this place fills up fast because before we knew it, it was busy!! There are two dining rooms and a bar with a pastry case. We got sat in back dining room, a good amount of room back there! We took a minute to order, our server was very nice and patient with us. I got the Dubliner Benedict. It had leeks and corned beef on a piece of rye. Two poached eggs and a paprika hollandaise. The right level of spicy! The hashbrown are killer! I now understand why you can just order them or order them stuffed! I got my son some bacon because he wasn't too hungry but he ate it all! My dad ordered monkey bread for the table. It was amazing!! I can't wait to bring my mother in law here. She's gonna love that monkey bread! For all 6 of us, under a $100. Great company and great food! My husband wants to go so we will be back!

I will start that I have been here before. It was not my favorite at the time (about 6 years ago). I met a friend here for breakfast. The atmosphere is Good, kind of like a diner setting, but the food is more elevated. Abby waited on us, very nice. I had some sort of hashbrown wrap. I can't remember the name, but it is a popular item. My friend had a "giant" egg omelet (he took 1/2 home). The food was much better than I remember. Price point was about 1-2 dollars more than you find in your corner diner. Parking was adequate.

Food is not good. I've never had sour Benedict with potatoes that smelled like rotten cloth.

Some of the dishes are a miss for me. The French toast is outstanding which bumps my rating up. The atmosphere isn't great. It gets to be pretty loud and there are always a lot of children. For the higher cost of brunch I'd prefer the atmosphere to be better. Highly recommend booking a reservation.

Smoked and pulled ham for breakfast! Need I say more!!!! The food here is incredible! The ham was flavorful and juicy. The eggs, hash browns and bacon was phenomenal! Service here was top notch! Blue's Egg is a good classic for brunch! The bloodies are really good and the plates of food are big! Can't go wrong with any option.

A group of 8 of us came to an impromptu brunch here on a Wednesday, so we didn't have reservations. Thankfully the wait wasn't too long at all, but they did require that our entire party was there before seating us, which was annoying when 7 of us were already there and the eight was on their way. Once we were seated, the service was great. Our waitress was friendly, knowledgeable on the menu, and gave great recommendations. After we had ordered, she brought out complimentary watermelon to munch on while waiting for our meals. The fruit was very fresh and a nice touch. I got the burrata stuffed browns without bacon, which was their special browns for the day. It was absolutely delicious! I did season mine with more salt and their house hot sauce, which was a little disappointing both in terms of flavor and heat. I also got a side of monkey bread because I love sweet and savory during breakfast. I was between the monkey bread and the coffee cake and the waitress recommended the monkey bread "crunked," which was a special dipping sauce for an extra dollar. The monkey bread was REALLY REALLY good - I would HIGHLY recommend it! The caramel sauce it was drizzled with was delightful and initially I thought that was the "crunk" sauce that I was supposed to get with it but later realized it wasn't. It's too bad I didn't get to try that sauce because I'm sure it was equally tasty. I would definitely come back here!

My second time coming here and there was 10 of us, greatly accommodated. Got there and were told it was up to an hour wait (as a walk in, highly recommended setting a reservation ahead of time!) and we only had to wait about 20 minutes. The food was delicious. I had the special: berry smothered French toast and I absolutely loved the break and flavor of the berry puree. I love their stuffed hash browns, such a cool concept and executed well. I ordered the ham and cheese stuffed. My family did have some mixed reviews, my mom wasn't much of a fan of the hash brown and others said they wished the menu was bigger but I completely understand that it's a small local restaurant, I think they had a lot of nice options that seemed very flavorful! Service was very well and fairly fast too! They also sell bakery items that looked really yummy. THE MONKEY BREAD IS DELICIOUS TOO!!!! That's one of the main reason we chose to go there. Definitely enjoyed and have to return again!!!

Wonderful brunch spot for a fast and filling meal. You definitely get your money's worth for the amount of food. It gets very crowded on the weekends, so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. They won't seat you until the entire party is present (which is understandable). This seems to be the place to be for cozy weekend brunch with family.

We have been countless times to Blues Egg, and it's one of our family's favorites! The service is good and friendly, and the restaurant has a cute, diner feel. We have lots of favorites off the menu. I always go back to the browns, any variety. All the food is good, though! The grain bowl is a great option if you want veggies, and all the breakfast items and sandwiches are delicious. We haven't tried very many of the baked goods, but they always look beautiful in the case. The few we have tried have been good. Blues Egg will continue to be one of our favorites!

Enjoyed my breakfast here. I had french toast as did my wife. It was good, and cannot complain. Our server was great. Despite one error bringing my Dad cherry pie instead of the dutch apple he requested, she made good on that by sending him on his way with the pie he originally ordered. Typical diner feel. I would return if in the area.

Seated immediately upon arrival on a busy New Year's Day. The interior is bright, clean and had room to move. The service was excellent. Very attentive and the right amount of contact. A definite must go!!!

Unbuckle your belt and wear loose pants. This is the only meal you'll need all day. Seriously HUGE servings. I'm pretty sure I got more hash browns than the last three places I visited combined. The drink menu is super impressive. I saw the Old Fashioned with coffee too late. It sounded delicious. I went with iced coffee and it was pretty light and watery. Coffee lovers, I'd go for the Cold Brew. Or the hot stuff. Or any of the amazing espresso sounding drinks. Service was friendly and perfect! Jose was superb!

Blue's Egg has become a regular stop whenever we're in Milwaukee. They're known for their great stuffed hash browns, but really, you can't go wrong with anything here. Again, the stuffed hash browns are great (there are many to choose from, including daily specials) and they can be added to most orders as a side if you're not looking to over-potato yourself. The various omelets and Benedicts that I have tried have also been great. Blue's might seem like a hole in the wall based upon its strip mall facade, but inside there is breakfast greatness. They have expanded the space over the years and also now take reservations, making it easier to plan ahead. The staff also couldn't be any friendlier - we'll continue to stop by a few times a year when in town.

Added a 3% service charge for credit card. Will not go back here. Food was good as usual but prices overall for entrees seem much higher than a year ago...on top of extra credit card fee

Really delicious breakfast spot. So popular and busy in the mornings highly recommend making a reservation online in advance. The "very stuffed hash browns" offer really yummy options to the standard mashed potatoes. Never have been to Blue's Egg before but after this breakfast, we went twice in one week after our initial visit!

The food and the service here are always top notch! Treat yourself to a bakery treat when you visit and you won't be disappointed!

Kellen was our server and was great! We are from out of town and stopped in here for breakfast before our hotel was ready. We started with the monkey bread and it was great! There were two of us and we split the hopple popple and the goat cheese stuffed browns. The paprika sauce was a little too much for me but my husband loved it! Vibe is calm and not too loud for how busy it was! They have a full bar which is nice for the brunch go-ers!

A friend of mine recommended this place. She said on the weekend it's packed so suggested I try it on a weekday right when they open. I can see why it's packed. Their menu is amazing, and priced well. They have indoor and outdoor seating and everyone is Midwest friendly! Plenty of parking right out front. Perfect spot!

My first time stopping by Blue's. As someone who travels for work I get to usually stop by the highest rated breakfast spot in each city I move through, and Blue's did not disappoint. The food was immaculate, the service was kind and 100% on point. Every time I thought of something I might want, my server Abbey already had it in her hands as she anticipated my every move (butter and jam for my toast? Real cream for my coffee? Homemade hot sauce??) I ordered the steak and eggs - the steak was cooked a perfect medium rare, which for breakfast places is usually a struggle. The real star of the breakfast was the browns - I had mine stuffed with mushroom and leeks with a creamy garlic sauce on top. The hash browns were crispy on the outside, and soft and flavorful on the inside. The leeks and mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Everybody was very friendly and helpful my entire time here, and even though I was stuffed, I had to grab a couple of linzer cookies on the way out. This might have been the best breakfast I have ever had on a trip. 10/10 would definitely recommend.

I had the boiled egg, english muffin and guacamole dish with has browns. It was really really good. There looks like a lot of other really great dishes too but I'm definitely ordering this again next time I go. The service was also unusually good. I recommend Blue's egg highly.

Everything is so good here! Their portions are huge so highly recommend sharing with others. Their ingredients are made fresh and great pricing for the amount of food you get. Their hashbrowns are made really well here where it's crunchy on the outside. The house-made corned beef hash was also very good. Their eggs are poached well and the chili hollandaise was flavorful for the rooted veggie-hash dish. The cherry French toast was good and sweet. The savory dishes we had helped balance out the sweetness of the French toast. I would def come here and again!

Blue's is a must-stop for us when in the Mke Area. I ordered the risotto with poached eggs and it was incredible. The monkey bread is always incredible as well!

cannot go wrong here with the food. i got the eggs benedict and it was fantastic. this is a meal you can share if you like, but there's so many things to try that you might wanna get a few meals to take home! the croque madame was also huge but very good. eggs are made to order of course, i don't like my whites runny and they weren't! super nice server and very attentive even with the busy rush hour. i would definitely make a reservation if possible. it fills up quick and it's popular for a reason! it's a cozy spot with a good amount of seating but i wouldn't go with more than six or eight people. kid friendly place. the pancakes are thick and fluffy and coffee refills came right when the cups were empty. we got the bourbon chocolate chunk cookie and omg. it was just about the best cookie i've ever had. cannot recommend this place enough! casual spot, no need to dress up. not a long wait for the food even with all the people there! definitely will be back.
