This cute cafe was recommended by a local friend. I was pleasantly surprised it was actually connected to my hotel The Darcy. I stopped here every morning and the team Nic, Wes, Amyia and Lisa were always a delight to interact with in the morning. They offered their suggestions and always welcomed me with the warmest hospitality. Great food and coffee and a nice area to sit in. Would recommend the Chicken Pesto Jaffle, the Chai Latte and Iced White Mocha w/ oat milk.

We stayed at The Darcy and Bluestone Lane was right next door! We visited 3 mornings in a row and received consistent food and service every time! The food and coffee were incredible, but the service was even better! Abby was an absolute treasure! She ran the counter, cooked, and delivered our food. She was kind, personable, and committed to getting everything just right! We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in DC! Thank you, Abby!

Saw a photo of the salmon toast and thought it looked delicious. What I saw…was not what I got. Thin slice of toast, barely any salmon (and what was there was flavorless) and no dill to be seen. When I asked about the dill, the barista looked at me like I had two heads and said, “if it’s not on there we’re obviously out.” On a different day I would have asked for a refund, but it was crowded and hot and I just wanted to get out of there. The cold brew was good, so credit where credit’s due on that.

Lovely staff and super friendly. A nice welcoming after a long flight. The breakfast croissant sandwich was amazing Recommend this stop for a great latte as well.

I stayed at the Darcy in DC and visited Bluestone Lane 4 of the 5 days of my stay. I would’ve returned for the 5th but didn’t have time. The customer service was exceptional, especially from Nicole, who made a special drink for me based on what I told her I like. The avocado toast, sunshine burrito and bacon egg and cheese croissant were all very tasty, quick breakfast items. I will definitely go back next time I’m in the DC area.

I hope it’s only my experience. Probably the most unpleasant one. Don’t even want to get into details but everything from simply rude service to lukewarm coffee was below reasonable. Truly upsetting. The place itself is nice though.

Went here Sunday morning to get a quick breakfast on the go before we headed to the museums. - I asked if it would be quick and the lady said as quick as a coffee, which 3 smoothies were not. But that’s fair- I understand it can take a min to do it right - the berry smoothie was terrible and tasteless- my daughter threw hers into the trash - but the entire reason for the 1 star- we ordered 3 smoothies, ONE of them was protein with Peanut butter. They MISLABELED the smoothies when they brought them out. My kids pointed out that the berry smoothie looking orange and tropical looking purple seemed odd. We tasted and sure enough they were wrong. Instead of quickly apologizing, the gentleman there (not the lady who took my order) insisted that a mislabel was MY problem and I shouldn’t complain because I was confusing him 👀… I wasn’t even sure how to respond to this, so we took our smoothies and left. We wouldn’t go back on our next DC visit, but just wanted people to be aware.

I am staying at the Darcy Hotel. I wanted some breakfast, so I decided to grab a meal at this location due to its convenience. The young man who took my order was very pleasant, as well as the young lady making the coffee. The place is clean and well-organized. I ordered the protein pack bowl. When I read the ingredients, I thought it would be delicious—a poached egg, smoked salmon, tomatoes, feta cheese, spinach, and avocados. However, the execution was horrible!!! The smoked salmon was gross, and the avocado tasted acidic, like it was prepackaged and not fresh at all. The best thing on the plate was the poached egg. When I spoke to the person in charge of making my meal, she was super rude and nasty. She said, "You want a refund?" and I said, "No, I want you to take your job seriously and serve quality food." I wouldn’t ever go back for a meal there. I might go for coffee, but that's it. It’s a shame because this place has potential. They need a cook who cares about the quality of food being served to paying customers.

Yelp
Good cup of joe, but not super comfortable seating and the music seemed a bit loud for the small space. I expected something more or different given it's connected to the Darcy hotel. The young man working was friendly & attentive, and no complaints about the coffee.

Yelp
I love a good cup of tea or coffee at Bluestone. It's made immediately when you place your order either in person or via mobile app. My go to is their chai lattes but they have a series of smoothies that look really delicious too. It's a small cafe but with plenty of outdoor seating. Other locations have more space compared to this one.

Yelp
On a recent visit to DC I was craving a healthy, nutrient dense breakfast. Enter Bluestone Lane which totally delivered on my craving. I opted for a clean & lean protein bowl which is essentially similar to the breakfast I make every day at home. It featured smoked salmon, poached egg, feta, tomatoes, avocado all on a bed of lettuce with lemon vinaigrette dressing. I added an extra poached egg for the protein and ordered for delivery via uber eats. It was a great, fresh, balanced breakfast. Would definitely order again if in the area when looking for something healthy and satisfying.

Yelp
It's so lovely and amazing to eat , I & my friends enjoyed ourself , I recommend them to you out there to eat from there

Yelp
Great coffee place. Just how it should be. Strong well made coffee friendly staffs. Foods are good and pretty fast too. Price is on high end. But you get what you paid for

Yelp
Quaint adorable coffee shop near our hotel in city center DC. Perfect Sunday morning spot. All your caffeine needs and breakfast and pastry plates. Great bread ! Loved the Cappuccino and I was just basic with toast and jam but it was what I needed ! Carbs ! Great service ! Lots of food variety. No fuss but just a nice place to park yourself for a break. If I lived in DC this would be on my coffee rotation!

Yelp
Bustling cafe this morning. We ordered at the kiosk and sat outside. My friend thought the PB and berry toast would have been better without honey drizzled on top. My egg and bacon croissant would have better without the chipotle mayo. Otherwise, a quick and easy breakfast with good coffee.

Yelp
The food was decent, albeit overpriced, and the coffee and latte selection was good. The service was slow at times because it's so busy, but the servers are polite. Use online ordering from the app if you can.
google avatar

Alison B.

Yelp
Granted I walked in at 2:57 after rushing to get there before 3pm when they closed - but I was immediately greeted with a "we're closed". Hmm ... then change your closing sign to "2:57"....

Yelp
Conveniently placed coffee shop in the radius of a few hotels. They open early, even on a Sunday. I stopped by to get an iced mocha before heading out of DC. It wasn't busy this AM and I had my drink in roughly 90 sec after chatting with the barista. There are also options for online ordering and digital self-checkout in case there's a line. My drink tasted great and there was a perfect ratio between ice, espresso and oat milk. Good quality chocolate, as well.

Charlie O.

Yelp
Fantastic. Easy. Great customer service. Would highly recommend if looking to get a quick coffee and bite in the Logan circle area.

Jared W.

Yelp
Great coffee. Similar prices to others in the area. ~$5 for cappuccino or latte depending on size. Bacon Egg croissant sandwich was good as well. Only 3 small tables for seating. Mostly a takeaway place.

Nicole C.

Yelp
Walked in with a dog owner allowing the dog's front paws on various parts of the food counter and the shop clerk didn't care. The shop clerk then pet the dog and I had to ask her to wash her hands. This is not OK in the least. If dog owners cannot be responsible and respectful knowing what dogs step in then dogs should not be allowed in restaurants. This is NO DIFFERENT than me walking in and walking on the counter in my shoes.

Linda F.

Yelp
Not sure what part of this cafe is Australian apart from the Aussie flag on the counter. Service is below par and coffee is ok. Had the avocado with the lot and what barely resembled a poached egg. Would only come for the coffee.

Yelp
Stayed in the Darcy hotel with my family over the weekend and had the best experience at Bluestone. Everyone there was so friendly and welcoming. I ordered a dirty chai latte and it was perfect. I asked for it to be less sweet and with oat milk. It was one of the best dirty chais I've ever had. I would also recommend getting the Avocado Smash and adding a poached egg. You won't be disappointed so yummy ! I will definitely be back !

Tina Y.

Yelp
Beautiful and caring staff. Latte is good! They further provided hot water that I asked for. We had a great morning here.

Yelp
Rules. There are rules to be followed at this location. Prepare to be spoken to a bit gruffly if you don't follow them. The coffee is ok.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute little coffee shop. Plenty of seating inside and out on the patio. Helpful staff helped me pick out the right coffee I got the iced mocha late and it did not disappoint. Perfectly sweet for my liking.

Yelp
As you walk in you are treated in a very comforting way and the locals are nice and polite because even they great you and start a conversation. I can see why it always so busy. They had a Milo in this location which made me feel at home since I am big milo fan just this time i did something i never due to it, i added a expresó shot and it changed the flavor drastically. I loved it, the only thing i can suggest is for them to either not have such a bitter shot. Maybe even redial that machine. Will be back soon.

Yelp
This review is for this specific location only: there is a stark diffence compared with another DC branch we liked a lot. In short: unfriendly staff, paper cups only, meals only packaged to go, although there is dedicated outdoor seating at this location which is shabby and the tables are not cleaned between patrons. Order not delivered to the table: you have to inquire and wait inside. Menu is limited : glorified fast food if this is what you are looking for.

Yelp
Great service. You can scan QR code to order which is very convenient. I ordered breakfast bowl, added salmon and a small latte. Their small latte is other cafes' medium latte. The latte is pretty good. I love the ambiance and the inside is super cute. My first thought of the breakfast bowl is that it was a little sour but welp that's because I didn't mix it up. So don't forget to mixxxxxxx your bowl/salad everyone! Also I'm so glad I added the salmon. The smokiness and saltiness really leveled up the regular breakfast bowl. I would totally come back. It's a perfect place to catch up with your friends or just to do work!

Yelp
Fantastic customer service, Great food selections. Avocado toast with the lot is Amazing everytime I come

Yelp
This coffee place conveniently located by the Embassies in DC. Perfect place to get your caffeine fix and breakfast before you go to your embassy appointment. For my drink, I ordered a Machiatto (this is actually a shots--not a regular Machiatto/Latte Drink) the barista was really good getting your drinks right and the presentation looked so perfect. I also had a Chai Latte- I enjoyed the final coffee presentation! For my breakfast, I had the avocado toast with LOT, smoked salmon and poached egg. (This is definitely one of the best Avocado toast I ever had!)

Yelp
Great coffee shop with really fast service. Love their almond and chai breakfast pots. Always try to go here when I'm in town for work and never disappoints!

Yelp
I got a classic iced mocha latte from here. Drink from here was quite pricey, almost $7 without tip, but I think DC in general is very expensive. The latte was good, but it wasn't great. The interior of the cafe was small, cute, and clean. Not a bad place to stop by if you're in the area!

Gaye V.

Yelp
The breakfast croissant sandwich was perfect. Service people are courteous and friendly. The place is clean and decorated properly.

Yelp
Meh. I found this place to be a bit of a letdown. For months, I'd been enticed by the menu photos on my DoorDash app. So when I found myself in the general vicinity on a sunny Sunday afternoon, I decided to take a chance and place an order from this place once and for all. But overall, I was not impressed. I ordered the avocado toast (and paid extra to add bacon) and a Keen Green smoothie. By the time you include the extra DoorDash fees and tip, this meal cost me nearly $30!!!! It was nowhere near worth that -- and I'll never do it again. Here's the low-down: First, my food was not ready at the time that the app estimated. That was a problem because there is extremely limited street parking right in front of the cafe -- so I had no choice but to park illegally to go inside and pick up my order, only to find that it wasn't even ready like it should have been. I was so afraid I was going to get a ticket because I was blocking the entrance/exit to the alley that runs alongside the cafe. So I was super stressed about that and having to keep a watchful eye on my car while standing inside waiting for my order. Second, the meal itself wasn't anything to write home about. The smoothie is something I could have made for myself for half the price and double the satisfaction. Also, I didn't like the toppings in the smoothie (like the coconut, IIRC) and learned that I don't like all those frills because it makes the drink seem less like a beverage and more like a breakfast bowl. (Also, the store failed to give me a straw in the first place -- so I had to "drink" the smoothie with a spoon anyway!). Additionally, the avocado toast was just basic, with strips of bacon laid across it that were cold by the time I got to my location to eat it. It tasted fine, but again not $30 worth of fine. This was not a spectacular meal in any way, shape, or form. The best I could say about the entire meal is that it was packaged well and traveled well. But that's about it. All in all, I would not patronize this place again.

Yelp
I was looking for a little something to tide me over this AM and found this little coffee shop. Look out Starbucks! I liked their coffee very much. They had a nice selection of juices and treats. My partner liked her Bluestone Lane Fitzroy of pineapple, grapefruit, lemon and ginger root very much. And we both loved their fabulous blueberry muffin and snarfed it all down. My only question is if they tend to be short staffed or if today was just an anomaly--the sole worker was working awful hard to fill all orders.

Joel P.

Yelp
Outstanding dirty chai! Great afternoon pick me up to finish out the day. Thanks Malik!!

Marcia C.

Yelp
Just what I needed after an early afternoon walking around. Great service, filling smoothies!
google avatar

Yelp
Went there this morning as staying in Darcy. Pre-ordered from my room Smoothie (Vanilla Protein) and Portsea green juice. Both were waiting when I arrived and beat the ETA. Delicious and perfect after going to the gym this morning. Clean, tidy location, great music and the staff were happy and made my morning.

Ryan H.

Yelp
Super friendly and great atmosphere. Delicious coffee! Would highly recommend for a quick cup of coffee or to get some work done.

Yelp
My girlfriend comes here for coffee and really likes it though it's on the pricier side. As a non-coffee drinker, I really like the breakfast sandwiches. Most recently I had the salmon toast, which has a nice pile of salmon and is on surprisingly flavorful bread. I'd give that 5 stars. Space is a bit claustrophobic and pre-orders aren't always ready on time. Otherwise great!

Amber M.

Yelp
The food and service is top notch!! Everyone working was so nice and helpful. Will definitely visit again next time I am in DC.

Vicky L.

Yelp
I am so disgusted by their complete ignorance re: environmental issues... they won't use glasses or dinnerware because of the pandemic still, what a joke - most businesses have learned to operate with it without trashing the environment via single use cups and plastic silverware / boxes for meals eaten in the cafe. They also filled my iced drink to the top with ice and I got about three big sips before it was gone. Would not come back despite the cute vibes and OK food.

Rebecca M.

Yelp
Great food, central location, the friendliest service! Glad I came here instead of settling for hotel coffee.

John L.

Yelp
Great little place with lovely people, customers& staff. Coffees are fantastic, please stop by and enjoy.
google avatar

Raj J.

Yelp
Ordered the avocado toast and my bread wasn't much toasted at all, way too much feta cheese, cappuccino was excellent. Staff mediocre. Served it inside of a small box impossible to eat it without tearing corners of the box to flatten it out to expose my avocado toast. Need to serve it on a plate otherwise asking customer take out??then box makes sense.

Yelp
This is a smaller location, so think more of a coffee shop feel rather than a full restaurant like their West End location. I LOVE Bluestone Lane's turmeric, beet and green tea lattes. I stopped in for a tumeric latte one afternoon. The shop was busy but not completely full. The latte was excellent, highly recommend. This is a cool neighborhood spot or a spot to hit up if you're at the hotel that's right next door. Love Bluestone Lane! Really miss living closer to one but I will have to pop over to one of their locations soon.
google avatar

Accacia G.

Yelp
I've had my eye on Bluestone ever since I saw someone else visit the restaurant in Boston. When I learned there were also locations in DC I just had to check it out. This place is so cute on the inside and the food is amazing. I love their breakfast sandwiches and the coffee+ice cream drinks that they have. It's really different and puts you in such a good vibe.

Aziz S.

Yelp
Very very nice people good customer sevice malek the manager for this location and his team very very good people

Rodrick F.

Yelp
Best coffee near 14th street! The logan location is also good but Darcy makes my order fast and offers the sunshine burrito all day

Connor S.

Yelp
Great service and even better vibes. Jalin creates a welcoming atmosphere and keeps me coming back in the morning!

Ronak M.

Yelp
Great coffee and service! The avocado toast and egg sandwich are great. The overnight oats are also good.

Sharae K.

Yelp
This place is amazing! Malik is very attentive and prepared the best Chia tea. It was so good, I came back the next day and ordered 3 more - don't judge they weren't all for me. The service is outstanding. Whenever you go, order an ice Chia Tea with Oat Milk - you'll be glad you did!

Yelp
This location is located right under The Darcy hotel in Washington D.C. And let me tell ya...my family was IN LOVE! We ordered our morning coffee from here very morning we were in D.C. I highly recommend their Almond Croissant as it is delish and a big enough size to fill you up. For the latte lovers, you must try the chai latte. It's the perfect balance of sweetness. My Dad and brothers also enjoyed their house blend & cappuccino.
google avatar

Mallory M.

Yelp
Bluestone is nestled along a circle drive. The interior is decorated with a streamline approach with blue and white accents. The place is clean and welcoming. The coffee was delicious, and we did not need to add any sugar to make it taste good. We also had avocado toast and a croissant which were also tasty. If I lived in the area I would definitely go back.
google avatar

Nicole C.

Yelp
This place is not as pricey or as busy as I expected. I got the ricotta, berries and mint toast and a cold pressed juice, and both were excellent. And of course all of the menu items are super cute! This particular location is attached to the Darcy Hotel, and you have to walk through the hotel to use the restroom. There's tons of outdoor seating and a smaller space inside.
google avatar

Yelp
I stopped at Bluestone Lane today for a late breakfast and on the hunt for good avocado toast and boy did I find it!! Full disclaimer: 5 star avo toast, 3 star overall experience. I was disappointed that the service was lackluster. When we ordered, we each asked for water. After the woman at the counter made that seem like a big convenience, she brought us cups of room temperature water. Not a huge issue, but after bopping all over the city in the middle of August, I wanted ice! When she returned, I kindly asked for a cup of ice. Again with an annoyed response, she returned with ice without saying anything else. My only other complaint was that it was expensive, but I recognize that's part of the city experience. At least once I was hydrated I could focus on the amazing avocado toast. I ordered the one "with the lot" and added the poached egg (which was a hefty $3 on top of already $10.50 toast) HOWEVER it was excellent. I loved the prosciutto as a unique twist and it was loaded with avocado. It was good enough to bring me back despite overall experience, so I hope that was just a fluke!
