"I noticed the Aussie coffee chain continues to blanket the D.C. area with its “avocado smash” toasts and flat whites, having just added a sixth area cafe at the foot of the Darcy hotel. The tiny space was retrofitted with Bluestone’s iconic teal-colored tiles, desert plant life, and Aussie beach scenes, and the brand — which roasts its beans in Brooklyn — entered the D.C. market in January 2018 and now has outposts downtown, in Dupont Circle, Georgetown, Navy Yard and West End. This summer the company will debut its largest area cafe to date (2,270 square feet) nearby at the base of the mixed-used Liz complex on 14th Street NW." - Tierney Plumb
