"If you’re the kind of person who thinks the photo of your avocado toast is just as important as the avocado toast itself, you don’t need us to tell you about Bluestone Lane. But you should know that, in addition to taking a nice picture, you can get some pretty great food here. This location also happens to be connected to a church, which makes the whole setting feel very cool and unique." - Team Infatuation

Google
A cute little spot I’d recommend to come to for breakfast or lunch before heading over to Central Park. The interior is super cool as it is located in the church and the location is great. The food was good and served rather quickly. You have several add-on options to your food. However, it was very hot inside and with the open kitchen aesthetic, it is very loud and the smell of cooking was quite strong.

Google
For a very small shop, this spot has some great character. The brunch/lunch wait is most definitely worth it. Coffee was tasteful and simple. Myself, ordering the warm chicken bowl and ancient grain bowl- chicken was thin and rubbery. But this did not take away from the flavor of the bowl. Just a product of shrinkflation I’d suppose. The wrap and sandwich are a similar situation. Come check it out!

Google
Cutest location! Had a vanilla oat milk latte and it was delicious. They had brunch options and lunch bowls. As well as a limited drink menu. You can order with a server or with a QR code at the table, which conveniently lets you pay as you order. Would recommend if you need a retreat from the heat.

This Aussie health cafe is cleverly located within a side section of the beautiful historic Church of the Heavenly Rest on 5th Avenue between East 90 and East 89th — right across from Central Park in NYC. We shared the gluten free banana bread served with ricotta, fresh fruit (strawberries and blueberries) with honey drizzled over the top and sprinkled with freeze dried raspberries. We also had a delicious green juice that was unfortunately served in single use plastic bottle.

This place is a great treat to unwind and enjoy savory food after visiting the Guggenheim museum. Just within walking distance, the café is part of an old church that gives it a unique character. The service is great, and the food:  Athlete's Burrito! Yum!!! The cappuccino with oatmilk was topped with chocolate powder (I think) and was tasty. Very pleased that we walked in and was seated immediately.

Google
Small cafe tucked inside of a church. Food so consistently pleasant for cafe fare. Not too many things to choose from to eat if you want something more substantial. Drinks are also consistent and good. Space is cute since it’s inside of an old building. Doors don’t close properly during windy days so it can be freezing in there while trying to eat.

Google
First of all this place is absolutely beautiful. Such amazing architecture and a cozy interior that makes me feel right at home. I came here a few days ago and was taken care of by Matthew and he was just incredible! Very excellent service, checked in frequently to ensure I was set and made this adorable cup of coffee. He was warm, charismatic and most importantly so friendly! Definitely will return to see him again and bring some friends with me. So happy I discovered this place!

Stopped in for a quick bite early in the AM before my gig. Service was great. Got the avocado toast. Which was probably the most decorated avocado toast I’ve ever ordered!

Whitney D.

Yelp
This bluestone is connected to a wonderful church on the upper east side. This is a more smaller location too. They used to have plenty of outdoor seating but due to construction they had to take it down. They still have some tables outside. Indoors there is a longish communal table in middle and some booth / bar like seating around it. I usually get the BLATE here which is Bacon, Lettuce, avocado ( aioli), Tomato and egg. And their coffees, hot chocolate are good here. This and the avocado toast are the only two things I really get here. Both are delicious. If you are in the area I would recommend this spot.

Sam V.

Yelp
Cool little hidden eatery. Perfect place to have lunch when walking the Park. Wife had the summer salad and I had the spicy chicken wrap. Both were delicious. Highly recommend.

Evan N.

Yelp
I can start off by saying that the interior is absolutely stunning! It's inside of a churh structure and really gives it an awesome character. The flat white which they are known for just doesn't hit the mark for me, I've had so many better flat whites. Their iced drinks seem to be a bit better. The BLATE sandwich was good and the salad that comes with it is amazing for how simple it is. The BL Breakfast Burrito honestly was just one flavor note and didn't really blow me away! Come and try it even alone for the interior or just a coffee to go it's a really fun and relaxing spot!

Jesus S.

Yelp
Cute location (a part of a church that was probably rented out). Small. The food at bluestone is always good (in my opinion). Perhaps a bit overpriced. The service is good. It was a bit crowded (the place is small). Bathroom is in the church so you have to leave the restaurant to get out. I had the breakfast bowl, and I liked it. Fresh ingredients and half of an avocado (soft, which is great).

K G.

Yelp
First time visiting this location and I walked past it at first. It's connected to/in a church and there wasn't a sign that I noticed. There is a cart outside, which sort of distinguishes it as a coffee shop. The servers were friendly and I was seated fairly quickly. I had the cappuccino and an almond croissant. The cappuccino was delicious with a light dusting of cocoa on the microfoam. The almond croissant was also very good with a crisp exterior and soft/not too sweet almond paste/frangipane inside. This is a small shop/restaurant with a couple booths to one side, counter seating at the wall on the other side and a thin/long table in the center with community/family style seating. I will definitely be back!

Anna T.

Yelp
Loved the unique location and vibe of this spot right across the street from Central Park. My friend and I went for lunch after we visited the Met and the staff were very helpful and welcoming. The restaurant is attached to a church so it has the beautiful architecture and old world stone feel. The restroom is inside the church as well. We dined in and the food was great and the service was pretty good as well. I got a chicken salad, one of their bottled juices and we got some coffee and tea to go as well. My only constructive criticism is that they need to expand their menu offerings. I realize it's a small place, but I wish there had been more options to choose from. I did love that they were all healthy.

Yelp
WE'RE BACK ! My wife and I discovered this Bluestone Lane Cafe 3 years when we did a tour of the Guggenheim Museum next door. A beautiful location inside a church as you can see by my pics. On Tuesday we rode rental bikes around Central Park mainly to see Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir and have lunch here. We locked up our rental bikes and headed inside around 1.30pm. We actually sat at the very same table as on our previous visit. A friendly server named Angelo took our lunch order in fact he helped us make up our minds...pointing out a brand new item on the lunch menu. YES PLEASE ! My wife wanted a Cortado and I ordered a Flat White...both with 2% milk. We decided to share the Prosciutto & Burrata Sandwich ( burrata, prosciutto, spicy jam, arugula greens with a lemon zesty vinaigrette on sourdough ) with the Side Salad upgrade ( $3 ). Our Cortado and Flat White arrived very quickly...they looked great and tasted very good. Thank you barista Jay ! Not long after our incredible looking Prosciutto & Burrata Sandwich with huge Side Salad arrived with an extra plate as requested. TOTALLY DELICIOUS ! Hats off to Bluestone Lane for introducing this delectable gourmet sandwich. We had a nice brief chat with our helpful server Angelo and another server named Kahlil who cleared our table. ANOTHER FABULOUS LUNCH EXPERIENCE ! NOTE - Of course with 20 million views of my Yelp reviews and pics in 2023 I can tell you what is great !

Yelp
Visited Bluestone Lane for a delightful breakfast in an old cathedral turned cafe on the Upper East Side. The unique setting is perfect for a pre or post-Met or Central Park visit. Despite its small size and constant buzz, our party wasn't rushed, and the waiter provided attentive service. Opted for the breakfast bowl, a healthy and filling choice that hit the spot. The blend of old-world charm, calm ambiance, and quality dishes make Bluestone Lane a must-visit. Ideal for those seeking a tranquil escape in the heart of the city. Will be returning for more!

Bijal R.

Yelp
Great location, right across the street from Central Park and adjacent to Guggenheim museum. Good place to sit down and enjoy breakfast as seatings available. Gets busy on the weekends. Pricey coffee however worth it for the quality!

Katie P.

Yelp
Perfect location if you're looking to grab coffee or a bite before/after visiting Central Park due to its close proximity. At first glance, we thought it was just a stand but when we got closer, we realized the restaurant was inside a church! It's on the side though, so for any of you trying to avoid church, don't worry! I got the BLATE burger and mocha iced latte. Both was okay, and since I'm usually a "bang for your buck" gal, it was a bit pricey for me. I will pay for good food, but personally, I thought what I got was average. The restaurant itself was a little small and we sat very, very close to the other customers even though we got a booth (we could hear each others' convos). If you're with a big group, I wouldn't recommend sitting inside since they have tables outside and can combine them if you need more space. However, if you're a foodie or food content creator, their dishes and drinks are very picturesque and make for great photos!

Yelp
Had a lovely Saturday morning brunch here-- there was a bit of a wait as we were there without a reservation, but staff were quick to get us seated and keep us updated on the wait time. This BL location was relatively small but the inside is unique with its arched gothic ceiling style that leaned into the original ceiling structure. It felt like a nice hideaway from the hustle and bustle of the city on a street lined with museums and next to Central Park. Would def recommend to go in for a bite before a day at the Guggenheim or the Met !

Robert V.

Yelp
Really good breakfast/brunch spot after a walk through Central Park! I got a wrap that was solid but nothing special, but the side salad that came with it was really great. The iced chai latte was also delicious. Really cool ambiance with how this location is connected to a church. Only negative thing to say was about the wait time. The host told us about 10 minutes and it ended up being more like 25. Totally understandable on a Sunday morning but a better estimate would've been helpful! Overall, about what I expected and a pretty solid restaurant!

Amy Y.

Yelp
I decided to order out for my midweek lunch and set my mind onwarm chicken and ancient grains bowl with a matcha latte - price came out to be over $30 which was more than i'd imagine. Even so, the meal was hearty and healthy, exactly what i need after days without greens. Service was fast, and the place was clean. What really completed the meal was the delicious salted chocolate chip cookie, which was absolutely amazing. Perfect pinch of crystal salts to even out the sweetness. Highly recommend!

Colin D.

Yelp
Tiny little cafe on the upper east side. My son and I wandered in to find a hot chocolate for him after walking through Central Park on a cold, drizzly day on our way to the Guggenheim. There were no tables and barely a place to stand inside, but they welcomed us in and got him a hot chocolate quickly for us to take with us to stand in line. For us, it was exactly what we needed and fast and easy. If we had wanted to sit down, it would have been harder, but it was prime Sunday brunch time so, I guess it's expected that it would be crazy busy.

Courtney D.

Yelp
Ordered the Proscuitto Burrata Sandwich online. I received a sandwich with no prosciutto at all. I tried calling the restaurant and it's just a recorded message where you can't even speak to an

Kriti S.

Yelp
The fact that they don't have a phone is mildly inconvenient since they can't call you when your table is ready. Their Battery Park location allows you to make reservations, so I'd recommend going there instead. My friend and I had to sit outside the restaurant for 30 min for a seat, but were seated at the bar top facing a wall when there were proper tables for 2 open. Staff were very friendly and checked in frequently. I ordered the Athlete's Burrito, which was delicious. Their coffee is very good as well.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Everyone always wants to go here. It's beautiful, convenient, and tasty. But it's also small, so it's usually packed and we end up going elsewhere. Not this time. This time Soleste sorted us out almost immediately. And the team inside was on their game. Rarely am I so impressed with service. Looked it up afterwards: Soleste meaning. : A woman who is heavenly. Bravo. You were our Angel that day.

Abha S.

Yelp
WOW! What a find. It's an absolute must for brunch if you're heard Central Park. Love the vibe and aesthetics inside. Beautiful subtle pastel colors and rustic feel. Recommend the mocha and egg and avocado toasts! The plating is also pretty and servers are so gracious. Shout out to Ryan and Angel for making our Brunch extra special :)

Jay G.

Yelp
Great quaint café servicing some nice options. The Avocado Smash is wonderful as is the banana bread.

Jessa A.

Yelp
I came here for the first time with my friend. It is a cute place. I came during rush hour but, a server/host helped me find a seat pretty quickly :) Thank you for that! Norma was our server and she is so smart and accommodated our needs. I love how all the servers always had good energy. I definitely would come here again. I got the breakfast sandwich with brioche bread. It was delicious!

Katherine C.

Yelp
A bit pricy but yummy! The breakky options are good for the afternoon too. The interiors beautiful!!

Jacky C.

Yelp
This Bluestone Lane shop is quite unique that it is located within a church. I placed a mobile order for pick up here. There's a mini stand outside where you pick up for order. I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for my coffee, although I did order it well ahead. Not really sure how it all works here as it appears you place your drink order at the said stand. If you wanted to sit down inside, not sure how that works.

Veronica M.

Yelp
We stopped in here after getting in the city. It is small and quaint but we were able to snag the corner booth. The magic is a half coffee half milk drink that was very good. My sister got the vanilla latte and she really enjoyed it although she said it was too coffee forward for her...it was perfect for me cause I like my coffee to taste like coffee For food we had the breakfast bowl, the egg was poached perfectly and the vinaigrette was on point, and then we had the almond croissant which was my favorite thing. I am very picky about my almond croissants, but was pleased on this occasion.

Emely S.

Yelp
BEWARE OF ONLINE PICK UP ORDERS The way the restaurant handles pick up orders is completely irresponsible. My partner and I had ordered meals for pick up, and nearly 40 minutes after (when it was supposed to be done), it was no where to be found. When I brought it up to the workers, they were aloof and didn't know what was going on - not even aware that we even placed the order in the first place! Nearly an hour later...wow. They even made excuses saying that the order did not indicate it was for pick up...when I clearly showed the yelp/grubhub receipt stating otherwise. I don't feel comfortable ordering pick up at a place where orders are not protected and supervised, nonetheless handled appropriately. Nice to know that anyone off the street can get a free meal if they'd like!

Dawn S.

Yelp
We were in NYC for a few days and it was a rainy day. Rainy days mean museum days to me. We were headed to the Guggenheim and this place had great reviews. We both love breakfast food so this seemed like a no brainer. The inside of this place is tiny. I mean NYC tiny! It looks like it used to be the inside of a church?! There was a bar area and several high top community style tables. There were two booths and those seemed like the place to be with a group of your girlfriends for a brunch sesh. There was outside seating as well as a cute little patio with a view of the park. Although it was rainy it was rather warm so we opted for the outside patio. We got a cute little table at the end and were greeted promptly and were brought waters. We ordered lattes, food, and enjoyed each other's company while we waited for our food. There was plenty of people watching and the view was great! I recommend this place for a pre-museum lunch or anytime you are in the UES. Enjoy!

Leyang Z.

Yelp
Got the ginger lime iced tea with some skim milk. Tasted much less dense than usual milk tea. Still good though. Service was kinda slow. The cafe was located in an historical church so the vibe was quite different from its other branches, which focused on modern designs.

Liz M.

Yelp
Coffee was decent and the interior was very pretty, but unfortunately I feel like the subpar service and highly mediocre food outweigh the pros. There are other lovely cafes in the neighborhood that I'll go to instead.

Hyegin C.

Yelp
Terrible customer service. I was visiting New York and was so cold so I wanted to have some hot cappuccino. It seemed a bit crowded inside so I wanted to take coffee somewhere else to drink. For that reason, I asked for it to go. I was just waiting for my coffee inside and the waitress told me "Go outside and wait - we will bring it out". I initially thought the waitress was telling me to get out of the way, so I just went to the side and waited near the door. Then, she told me to go outside and wait again. Now, this was early February in New York, super cold and the waiting area outside didn't have any type of heating. I would have been willing to wait outside if she asked nicely or just explained why I have to go outside. Instead, the tone that waitress talked was so rude. Almost bothered that I am there. It took a while for them to bring me out my coffee. My mood was ruined. Coffee itself was fine, but bluebottle or Philz are way better. Don't get a takeout here.

Moaz A.

Yelp
Great location and vibes inside the unique cathedral. Service is super friendly and very quick. All coffee options are great, Australian coffee with a bit of nice bitterness and strength.

Scarlett H.

Yelp
Sitting inside the wing of the Church of Heavenly Rest is this tiny cafe that offers a unique ambiance. Unlike other local under the franchise, the church interior makes a difference- not big enough as in a salvation but cool enough to calm me down on a hot day after walking around museums in the vicinity. There are more earrings on the outside than the tiny space inside. Both are nice - the outside area is pleasant with views of the Central Park but the inside is where you dine under the old arched ceilings. Menu is a bit limited - not that many choices. Though the breakfast bowls were quite good. At this writing it's around $17 but I feel it's reasonable for its location. Service was efficient and fast - only one guy working to seat guests so my hat off to him for how quick he set up tables and seated people!

Ruslan B.

Yelp
Really great breakfast place. They're avocado toast is really good. Would come back again. Nice setting. Music was great.

Katia N.

Yelp
Food is amazing and the location is gorgeous. Only downside is the place is very small so be prepared to be seated with another party. I ordered the BLATE and it was delicious. The coffee was great as well. Iced coffee is served in a cup with a cute striped straw, very photo worthy. Another thing that was slightly disappointing is the iced coffees stated they had ice cream and they were out. Either way, it was delicious.

Midori G.

Yelp
The ordering process is so easy! You order and pay online, then they bring you your order. I got an oat milk cappuccino and one of the breakfast bowls. There isn't much seating indoors, but they have outdoor seating with heaters. Overall they have good coffee and food, but I would most likely choose a different cafe if I could. Mostly due to price.

Howard D.

Yelp
Needed to get lunch before visiting Guggenheim and this was a block away. Ordered the Classic chicken & bacon club roll. Generous avo smash at the bottom of the sandwich and great chicken and bacon. Filling and delicious. On the pricey side but at least the food quality and quantity delivered. Gets chilly when sitting near the door as there was many orders for pick up and door doesn't close automatically.

Tsvika K.

Yelp
Got to say that I am not a fan of this overrated chain (though no one like the Ozzies!) but this charming place at Saturdays seems fair with friendly service. For me specifically it's their very good espresso on my way to shull :)

Melanie C.

Yelp
I was excited to see there was a gluten free bread option for the avocado toast and was happy to see the bread wasn't just Udi's. It wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was good and kept me full for a day of adventuring around NYC. The interior of the cafe is beautiful so if you can get a seat inside I'd highly recommend staying and eating there. If there aren't indoor seats available I'd recommend taking your food and coffee to go and eating it in the park which is right across the street. Overall the coffee and food is good, the location is conveniently located next to museums and the park and I'd give this Bluestone Lane location 5 stars!

Deb A.

Yelp
Flat white coffee Brekkie all day Gf: banana bread with whipped ricotta, fresh berries, local honey , roasted pecans I know the banana bread with berries does not look like a lot of food, but believe me, I couldn't finish it and took it home. I ate the banana bread the next day for breakfast. It was still excellent. The gluten free banana bread was not dry at all. It's not too sweet or overwhelming. I would order this again. Flat white/ while milk I love good flat whites and the last time I had one was in UK. This one passes my taste. The coffee was aromatic, served very hot, the way I like it. Not too foamy. Idk I can't explain it anymore. You guys just have to try it if you're a flat white fan I like their ordering system. First I was seated...then Scan the menu, order what you like, pay it on the device ,then wait for your food to be served. No time wasted cuz you can eat and leave after.

Sa Z.

Yelp
The food itself is good looking and taste even better, but the waitress is terrible and rude. She doesn't clean the table and make all the foods mess around and even hand to me and go away. The she pour the beer out and splash over our shoes and hand the rest to us. What a terrible service

Sam B.

Yelp
Super good food and amazing service. The tall male waiter on Friday or Saturday was so kind and patient with my older mom. I'd recommend either breakfast option. And the coffee was so smooth.

Scot W.

Yelp
Bluestone Lane's food is better than their coffee. A friend and I went here before going to a museum; I had a breakfast burrito and my friend had avocado toast with halloumi cheese. The burrito was excellent; the side greens were undressed (likely an error) but they were fresh. Her avocado toast looked great and she enjoyed it. This location is pretty cool--the indoor seating is in an old church building, and there is plenty of outdoor seating. Their fruity, red iced tea was awesome. The coffee is fine; better than Starbucks or Joes, worse than Gregory's or Blue Bottle. That said, the coffee is better than what you get at a lot of restaurants, so if you think of them as food first, convenience second, and coffee third, you can't go wrong.

Ling C.

Yelp
I stopped by here after visiting the Guggenheim Museum. This is not my favorite Bluestone Lane. It's like a restaurant. You wait for a hostess and you are taken to a table. I like the other locations more ( Times Square and Bryant Park). If you are ordering coffee to go, you are directed to use the cart. I saw the dairy options left out in the open. Furthermore, I saw the barista used his bare hand to scooped the ice cubes. What the heck! I would not be returning here.

Raquel A.

Yelp
Great coffee and avocado toast. This spot is nice after a park run since its on fifth. I reccomend another host as she was very scattered and took a lot of time to seat people even when tables are empty. She offered to seat our party of 3 inside. When we walked in she pointed to 3 stools facing a cement wall. I would hardly consider that "a table inside". We asked to be moved and later on were placed outside next to the same empty table we asked for 20 minutes prior. There was just no order or any bussers to clean. For a place like this seating should be self service. The food was good and therefore I gave three stars. I especially liked the avocado toast.

Andrea C.

Yelp
This is kind of a mini review, since all we had was coffee and fruit cup. But we had one cold brew coffee which was very good, and one iced latte mocha which also was very good. Smooth, not bitter, real iced, not hot over ice. Fruit cup was really good quality too the main attraction was the setting which was a church, and really interesting looking. My only complaint...this location doesn't serve the Aussie iced coffee, which has a scoop of ice cream in it. And honestly it would be nice if they had some little bakery items to have with your cup of coffee. But overall a really nice place to take a break and recharge.

Jillian N.

Yelp
I came here for a cup of coffee and when I arrived it was busy but took about 5 minutes to seat us. The coffee was good but nothing super special, I got a simple latte and the ambiance was nice and clean. The decor was nice.

Max F.

Yelp
First of all: great coffee ( a very good selection of blends), especially if you love to drink it without milk or sugar. It tastes incredibile! Also you can customize your drink here to make it just the way you want it. I love the location too. Food was very good and well presented, nice and friendly stuff. Food prices are a little bit hight but you need to remember that you are in Upper East Side.

Mantis T.

Yelp
Very nice staff and great food, it's just not a great spot to do work. It's more for tourists and the Wi-Fi doesn't even work.

Asia C.

Yelp
Listen, nothing that I got was that good to pay that much for. We got there past noon. It was crowded but we were able to get a seat outside pretty seamlessly. I loved how you could order everything online. It made the experience a little better. Ordered: Rainbow Wrap w Salmon Iced Golden Milk Latte: 3.5/5 You see my friend and I both got drinks and she got the wrap as well. Our drinks came relatively quickly. I wasn't particularly enthralled with my latte. It was lukewarm actually not at all very iced which I'm not sure why, considering it was in fact...iced. The wrap on the other hand took about 30 minutes. We ended up having to ask on an update for our order because other people around us were getting there's sooner even though we were there longer. Even then, I wouldn't pay $17 (not including tax and tip) for what we had. It was nice sure, but even without the add-on, it didn't have much going on. The salmon kinda saved it in my opinion. Service: Not great. We asked for two glasses of water, we were given one until we asked again. Was not checked up on for the progress of our order. Just very meh. I wouldn't have gone here if not for the sake of my friend and now she can walk away knowing that this place was not a standout for her and if anything can agree with me that it was not worth the price. Cute ambiance though.

Phil H.

Yelp
Still a great spot for a quick breakfast and early morning cold beer after a NYRR race in Central Park. Nothing like a cold one at 10am!

Janvi G.

Yelp
GREAT food!! I got the banana bread with ricotta. And it was amazing. It was so so flavorful, while not being overly sweet. The ricotta was whipped to perfection and the dried flowers made it even tastier.
