"The founder opened Bo Home in 1969 to feed hungry workers away from home with nutritious comfort food – braised pork rice, and giant grouper soup. Over time the menu grew bigger, but the drool-worthy signature rice topped with amber, luscious diced pork remains the key draw. On top of that, order stir-fried squid in salted egg yolk sauce, or stir-fried whelks if you want variety. Open till midnight, so it’s perfect for late night snacks." - Michelin Inspector

Probably the best 肉燥飯(滷肉飯)place in Kaohsiung! Besides the option of 滷肉, you can get the thigh/leg meat instead and add the 滷肉 over it to get the best of both. However, their stir fry beef with scallion was such a surprise. It's probably the best beef stir fry I've had in a long while. The beef slices were super tender, and with right chewiness, it practically melts in your mouth. Balanced nicely with a tinge of spiciness and garlic fragrance, it was the highlight of the experience.

We enjoyed the dinner here. Loved the braised pork rice & the salted egg bittergourd. Iiked the squid too. Miso is good. Menu is written in both Chinese and English which is useful for tourist. Also some items has pictures to refer too, which is good. Would return again for sure.

Successfully upgraded traditional family food shop. Clean, air conditioned dining with no loss in flavor of the food offerings. Cafeteria type seating, common seating in long tables. Very reasonably priced 肉燥飯(braised pork rice) at only $37/bowl, the most popular staple in many Taiwanese meals. Hot, tasty, quick and filling. Many items to choose from. See attached menu below. Don’t expect the moon

Orders a takeaway. Fast and easy ordering. Above average 肉燥飯, but a tad too sweet for my liking. Miso soup very good though, the best I had so far at any similar joints.

Quintessential Taiwanese minced pork rice in a nice and comfy environment as the third generation took over the historical street food spot.

The braised pork is so tender you can cut through it easily with your chopsticks. The sauce they use to braise is a bit saltier than I would like but overall the taste is good. The ordering system is with QR code and there are pictures with everything so it is friendly. Pay on their system or go back to the front counter to pay in cash.

Very delicious and fast service. Price is not much high when comparing to food quality.

Taiwanese braised pork rice never disappoint, the meat is so tender and the fat literally melt in your month. We prefer the 肉库饭 rather than肉操饭as it has more meat. The grouper fish soup is rather average.
