"Now run by the third generation, Bo Home was opened in 1969 to feed nourishing comfort food to hungry workers away from home. The room is done out in warm wood overtones. The menu has expanded to include stir-fries and blanched side dishes. But ever since day one, the main event has been their signature braised pork rice. The sauce is slow-cooked for three hours to make the pork gelatinous. The sea bass soup pairs perfectly with the rice." - Michelin Inspector

Hi I A.

Google
We came here on a Sunday night and only had to wait 5 minutes for a table around 6:40pm. We thought it would be longer because we saw many people waiting outside but it turns out they were just there for take away. Ordering is done through a QR code and it’s in Chinese. They are known for their braised pork rice but unfortunately our order for it didn’t go through and we were already full with the items that did go through. We had the soy sauce clams which were really salty, the eggplant, potato leaf, and cucumber salad which had so much raw garlic it would kill a vampire and the sea bass soup. Besides the saltiness and the excessive raw garlic we enjoyed our meal. Service was relatively fast.

Food takes a bit longer, please be patient it’s worth the wait!! Prices are very affordable. If i can give 1 feedback, your ordering app, even though i already picked “English”, when it comes to the next step option, such as more gravy, less gravy, it’s all still in Mandarin. So we took a while to order. Thank you so much!! We will definitely come back!!

Probably the best 肉燥飯(滷肉飯)place in Kaohsiung! Besides the option of 滷肉, you can get the thigh/leg meat instead and add the 滷肉 over it to get the best of both. However, their stir fry beef with scallion was such a surprise. It's probably the best beef stir fry I've had in a long while. The beef slices were super tender, and with right chewiness, it practically melts in your mouth. Balanced nicely with a tinge of spiciness and garlic fragrance, it was the highlight of the experience.

Successfully upgraded traditional family food shop. Clean, air conditioned dining with no loss in flavor of the food offerings. Cafeteria type seating, common seating in long tables. Very reasonably priced 肉燥飯(braised pork rice) at only $37/bowl, the most popular staple in many Taiwanese meals. Hot, tasty, quick and filling. Many items to choose from. See attached menu below. Don’t expect the moon

We enjoyed the dinner here. Loved the braised pork rice & the salted egg bittergourd. Iiked the squid too. Miso is good. Menu is written in both Chinese and English which is useful for tourist. Also some items has pictures to refer too, which is good. Would return again for sure.

The braised pork is so tender you can cut through it easily with your chopsticks. The sauce they use to braise is a bit saltier than I would like but overall the taste is good. The ordering system is with QR code and there are pictures with everything so it is friendly. Pay on their system or go back to the front counter to pay in cash.

Orders a takeaway. Fast and easy ordering. Above average 肉燥飯, but a tad too sweet for my liking. Miso soup very good though, the best I had so far at any similar joints.

Taiwanese braised pork rice never disappoint, the meat is so tender and the fat literally melt in your month. We prefer the 肉库饭 rather than肉操饭as it has more meat. The grouper fish soup is rather average.
