Boathouse Rooftop - Review - Astoria - New York - The Infatuation

"If you want to smoke hookah with Manhattan skyline views in Astoria, this halal Mediterranean spot on Steinway Street is great news for you. At Boathouse Rooftop, you can also expect grilled octopus, lamb chops with mushroom risotto, and belly dancing." - Molly Fitzpatrick

One of the prettiest spots in Astoria . Great for a nice date night. Hidden gem on Steinway , pass by it every now and then. Finally got to try it out and I was blown away. Felt like I was in the city. Warm welcome by the host and calm vibes of the restaurant made it a great night. Now on to the food , we tried the ceviche and grilled octopus, both delicious and great presentation. For main course ordered the rib-eye and lamb chops. Cooked to our desired temperature and huge portions. All the food here is Halal as well. Tiramisu and lava cake for the sweet tooth craving . The cherry on top was the hookah. Service was amazing , will definitely be back.

Had a great brunch here last weekend. Excellent service. Our waiter was great!! Also loved the short rib eggs benedict and the red sangria. The Views were great. It was a perfect gorgeous day to sit up and out on the rooftop. Kudos can't wait to come again

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ From the moment we walked in, — from food to ambiance to hospitality. If you're looking for a place that blends incredible flavors, beautiful presentation, and a welcoming vibe, this is it. Let’s talk about the food — absolutely delicious ! The lamb meatballs were the perfect starter: tender, flavorful, and paired with a creamy, tangy tzatziki that balanced the dish nicely. The lamb with risotto was my favorite — the meat was cooked to perfection, and the risotto was yummy, infused with just the right touch of herbs and spices. The drinks were not only delicious but gorgeous. Each cocktail came out looking cutesy, and they tasted even better than they looked. Whether you're into something fruity, floral, or bold, there's a drink here that’ll hit the spot — and probably end up on your Instagram. For hookah lovers, this place does not disappoint, all super smooth and high quality. Big smoke 💨It’s the perfect complement to the laid-back, lounge-style vibe they’ve created. A huge shout-out to the manager, Alysha, who truly made the experience special. Her attention to detail and genuine hospitality didn’t go unnoticed — they were friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was just right from start to finish. This spot has definitely earned a spot on my favorites list. Can’t wait to come back!

Ten out of ten. My favorite restaurant this year. I loved almost every drink and dish. The service, ambiance, skyline, drinks and food were outstanding. The entertainment was fantastic. This is everything right about NYC. The hookah tableside service was quality. The midnight in mykanos mocktail Devine and velvet glow and royal aura drinks. The total aura is outstanding but you must like chocolate or coquito vibes. The butrata salad a must. The chicken casserole best dish this year. Halal , juicy seasoned nice hint of spice with an amazing sauce and veggies tasting and it came with cranberry couscous. Outstanding. The lobster tail tasty. The desssrt great. The dancer was phenomenal.

Celebrated my sisters birthday here and the atmosphere was stunning – the decor was top-notch! Our server was incredibly kind and attentive, making the experience even better. As for the food, the braised short ribs were a solid 8/10. However, the roasted lemon carrots were a miss for me (1/10); a honey glaze would have balanced the overpowering lemon. The sautéed mushrooms were good (8/10), but the fried Brussel sprouts stole the show (10/10) – a must-try! Others enjoyed the lamb chops (9/10), but the garlic shrimp was a universal disappointment (1/10). The ribeye steak, though, was a perfect 100/10 – cooked to perfection and worth coming back for! We finished with a lava cake that was also a 10/10. Don't skip the mocktails! The Velvet Glow and Citrus Bloom were both amazing (10/10). The Medusa hookah was incredibly smooth and worth it (10/10). All in all, $500 for 5 people felt reasonable for the experience."

This was a great finding in the heart of Astoria. The views of the city and surrounding areas are pretty darn awesome. The staff was super friendly, nice and attentive to details. Drinks and food are great and fairly priced. On top of all that, there is entertainment provided by Bossa Nova Entertainment with Natalie and her amazing team of performers. Definitely recommend checking this place out!!!

I went here for my birthday Sunday and I had a great time. Our server Stephanie was so sweet. The bellydancer was phenomenal and I even got to dance with her. The food is pretty good too. I definitely recommend!!

Yelp
This was a top tier brunch in a romantic upscale Mediterranean rooftop in Astoria with chic decor and stunning ambiance. It's like being transported to a Greek oasis. The service here is very refined. They provided warm hand towels to sanitize our hands before the meal. The cocktails here are colorful, well-balanced and strong. The Love in Mykonos drink was artfully presented and was as refreshing as it gets. The potato croquettes were scrumptious with adobo chicken chorizo artfully plated on an avocado mash sprinkled with garlic harissa aioli. The frittata con carne was a standout entree with delicious merguez sausage. The hummus poblano was another unique entree with chile poblano hummus mixed with chicken chorizo on a warm soft pita. The ingredients were super fresh. I definitely plan on returning.

Yelp
Poor experience to say the least. Pricey for low quality meal. Let me start-off now. A bunch of us decided to meet here for dinner & drinks. The website does not specify the PROPER hours of operation, therefore reserving a table was hard. We reserved for 4p on saturday w/ zero inclination that it was the tail end of brunch. Alright, decided to forgo & continue w/ our plans. Drinks were absolutely amazing with a decent exposure to a pretty skyline. Now comes the food: abhorring. HAD TO order from the brunch menu- disgusting food. Old, stale, hard. One of the friends ordered the Steak& Eggs which he said was decent but the steak was a bit tough for him. Another friend had the plain Mediterranean salad which lacked flavor. I ordered the Short rib benedict with a poor side salad - yuck! The english muffin was so so sooooo hard that while attempting to cut into it, the entire muffin with the short rib topping fell to the floor!! WTF! I returned the plate, couldnt order anything else as kitchen closed. Another friend ordered the hummus poblano-- her toasted bread was HARD as well-- she had to saw the bread down. I'm sorry but this is a disgusting place for food. The service was slow. Very chic ambiance, dress well. Great for pics. Groupon voucher available which they honored. Will NOT be returning this side.
