"This diner used to be a small operation with two stand-alone locations, including this Crystal City outpost, but has since expanded to a mini local chain. Locals enjoy it for the basics, like biscuits and gravy or eggs cooked to order. Key: it’s also open 24 hours. — Missy Frederick" - Lenore Adkins, Missy Frederick

If you love a good diner this is your place for some amazing breakfast. Service was amazing, food hot and even better. This was the last stop for my wife and I during our anniversary trip and it was well worth it.

I'm on a mission to go to every Bob and Edith's location!!! I love this place. I got my usual - the chicken fried steak with gravy, eggs and hash browns and it was delicious! It was right off the hot plate. I love the clinking of cups and plates and the conversation white noise at diners, and this Bob and Ediths is no different! I want to point out the service I received here was the best. I felt so taken care of here even though I was eating myself. It just left me feeling very happy :).

This was a perfect restaurant experience. The seating was instant, let us sit anywhere we wanted. The waitress was nice and attentive. Gave us time and also was patient but was always ready to help or take our order. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and was good considering it is made to order. The iconic double cheeseburger was amazing. Top notch with everything on it and an egg too. Definitely ordering again. French fries were terrific. Got a blueberry pancake on the side and it was reasonably sized but a little expensive. Tasted amazing. A strawberry milkshake was ordered later and they did have blueberry too but that will wait for next time. Milkshake was amazing too. Extras came in a second cup. My gf ordered a bagel with eggs and bacon and the eggs were so fluffy. Home fries were decent. The tea was the only downside. The hot water and tea bag was 4$… like what? Other than that. Will definitely be back.

Food was very good Service was friendly and atmosphere was fun. A family of 5 ate for under a hundred bucks. I recommend this place for breakfast.

I tried breakfast here this morning. It was very good. The place was very busy and a little slow but it was worth the wait. Everything was prepared perfectly.

Tried hard to find a good quality breakfast place to take my kids before a flight out of national. This place fit the bill. Wish that I had more time to review menu and special before ordering. Saw some better alternatives after ordering. Staff understood being in a rush and did a great job with service. Only gripe is with Google maps and my GPS which made to an adventurous trip to restaurant. Couple of those VA off ramps are a little too close together.

Country Fried Steak was really good. 8.7/10. Breakfast looked to be “the go to” but I was truly satisfied with my meal. Macaroni salad a tad dry for my liking, could be a regional thing, down south it’s creamy and moist. Mashed potato’s were great. Wife wasn’t thrilled with burger, but the hand spun milkshake pulled the win. Certainly would hit it up again when back in town. Service was extremely friendly and attentive.

Pleasantly surprised with the food here. I actually really enjoyed the pancakes and my club sandwich was very solid. Good portion sizes but I did find it kind of expensive for a diner. Service was decent but not great considering how large their staff is. We were given much attention when we sat down but once we ordered everything went more smoothly. Solid 4 stars for sure. Recommend for anyone seeking the comfort of a traditional diner.
