Bobbee O's BBQ

Very over cooked meat and the sauce was ok but the texture of the meat was really bad. If the brisket is cooked good it doesn’t need so much sauce. The corn bread was super dry. The only thing good was the mac and cheese.

Very friendly people! The food was excellent and the lady let me sample before I bought! I enjoyed will be coming back!

Got a pulled chicken plate with collard greens and macaroni and cheese. The chicken was a little dry, the collard greens were awesome, but that macaroni.. Tasted and smelt horrible. Like it was a couple days old and just stuck together.

Ordered the Sampler platter. 4 meats and 4 sides. Got the Ribs, the brisket, pulled pork and tips for the meat and collard greens, cabbage, corn on the cob and Onion rings for the sides. The ribs were good. Fall of the bone and the fat was rendered well. Good flavor with the sauce, it was a nice compliment. The brisket was ok. A little dry and lacking in flavor. It came smothered in house sauce and we felt it was on there to cover the lack of flavor. The pulled pork was the the best. It was juicy with each bite and had a bit of a kick at the end. The last meat was a rib meat. It was meh. It didn't really have any flavor. Just Meh. The collard greens are on point. 10-10 would recommend. The onion rings and corn on the cob are mushy and tasted like they were frozen. The cabbage was just there. It was cooked right and al dente but I really didn't taste any flavor, Overall for $45 plus tip and tax it was a disappointment.

I don't know if I caught them at a bad time or what but my brisket was overcooked & the ribs were over cooked. The macaroni wasn't good. The cabbage and cornbread was ok. I've heard decent things about this restaurant so I'm just going to hope it was a rough day and this isn't the usual quality of food. Spent a good amount of money to get that level of food. They can do it!!!! AND They did it! Nice polite even would say southern sweet hospitality. The staff at this location is beyond amazing. 🤩 Food is super tasty and perfectly cooked. Brisket sandwich is truly the best I have had in NC. Tender, the right amount of lean and fat. 10 out of 10. Sides of Okra, collard greens. Sooo good. Nothing done part way. Crazy good So hoping to come back soon. Yes slightly on the pricey side. But what isn’t today. Why no pictures of the food??? Good question… it smelled so good we had eaten everything before I remembered to take photos lol 😂. I will do better next time!

Excellent brisket, interesting yams, good greens. Also has excellent music. Definitely someplace that could explains. Try it.

The food was absolutely amazing. Everything came out fresh to order. I had fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, collard greens and yams with cornbread roll. The food was like eating grandma’s Sunday dinner. The staff was very friendly.

The service was so amazingly good the food was so delicious the ribs were so tender they just melt in your mouth and the wait was not long at all

Found them on Yelp. My mom wanted bbq for lunch and we had a small window of time to grab something. Located not far from Northlake mall in the same shopping strip somewhat as Tisuns Beauty Supply and Staples. Soooo this is our new bbq spot. I ordered online and the msg I got was ready in 13-15 min. Perfect because it was gonna take 10 minutes to drive there. Got there and found out that the rib tips are made to order so it's a total of 30 minutes. Noted! Waiting gave me a chance to check out the place. It appears to be seat yourself. Spacious restaurant so if you're trying to navigate with wheelchairs, babies, kids etc easy to do. They have carry out as well as door dash and uber eats. Online I didn't see desserts featured but there was a display of a variety of desserts you can expect with good soul food: peach, apple, blackberry cobbler, vanilla mousse cake, cheesecake, blackberry Bundt cake etc. Avg cost $4.99. Observed customers coming and going and served promptly and professionally. There's the story of the restaurant printed from Pride magazine on the wall. I could see the cook in the kitchen putting fresh greens into the pot. This is the real deal. They have pretty much everything. It's rare that I can find rib tips in North Carolina but they have them here. They also have a veggie plate with 3 sides from their expansive menu. Kids menu. Booths as well as tables. All of our food was good. Bringing the whole family back! Thanks to Uriah holding down the front. I enjoyed watching her customer service and she made me feel right at home.

Have not been in awhile and stopped for a quick bite. They do online, to go and dine in. Wide menu selection of chicken, ribs, seafood, burgers, etc. My waitress was a doll. Warm and knowledgeable about the menu offerings. Please note all chicken is cooked to order so pack your patience! Love the interior it's a cool southern blues kind of spot. Ample seating spaced out, great decor, big screen TV and just the right music playing: Bobby Blue Bland, Stevie Ray Vaughan and BB King. You want to be happy waiting for your food. Short wait times as the recommendations were flowing and people waiting to order seemed pleased. Check them out and bon appetit.

Just encountered the most rude manager! Items were left off a Door Dash order and the manager acted like I forgot to put them in the bag. What's is worst he hung up on me! After telling me to take the refund up with Door Dash. Door Dash did not pack the bags, they simply picked it up. The manager did offer to deliver the food himself, however he stated the it would be 45 minutes to an hour in which everything would have been cold. And they say support black business. Not with that attitude. Would be better off ordering City BBQ!

Ordering from them on uber eats and door dash is horrible a the menu is mixed up and you can't make any notes or adjustments . But if your food does come correctly it's very very tasty ! Enjoy ! All the sides are great and the ribs are amazing

This is my go too for southern good food. They typically hit but today was a miss. I ordered fried wings with a side of collard greens. The wings were fried way hard and they were huge!!! They were able the size of my hand. You can also tell the oil needed to be changed. I'll blame it on it being the end of the day on a hot Saturday. The Mac and cheese uses too much eggs and milk but it's seasoned well. Order came quick and little to quick as I'm sure they fried the wings to quickly and on high.

Food taste. Food and taste. Don't serve old good and think we don't know. Be concerned about bad dining experiences there as you do food one's. My food was TERRIBLE . I told the person when asked how was everything. She said , "aww".

I visited Bobbee O's BBQ with a travel group from Michigan called the Blackity Black Tour that supports all black owned businesses the week of Juneteenth. We showed up with a group of 40 and they accommodated us beautifully. They were pleasant, friendly and patient with our group. The food was so good, fresh and hot. I ordered the brisket with onion rings, along with ribs. In addition I had the blueberry cheesecake that I'm still dreaming about lol. Kudos to this black owned business for their professionalism, and amazing food.

We decided to try Bobbee 'O's on a whim and was very disappointed. First, I'll say the service and sides were okay however the ribs were dry, brisket did not taste like brisket and portion was disappointing for what we paid (almost $60).

First thing first I love the Mac and cheese here. It is always creamy, cheesy and well seasoned. I have been here a number of times and the Mac and Cheese is always on point. I also got the beef brisket sandwich which was tender and juicy. It was really good. My only complaint is the food could've been warmer other than that the was really good. The service was fast and the employees were very nice and accommodating. The ambiance is really laid back of a typical bbq restaurant. I would definitely recommend checking out Bobbee O's

Food was good. Everything was portioned perfectly. The plate was cleared!! The server answered all questions with poise and knowledge. I would certainly eat here again. There was good R&B music playing through the speakers.

I took my best friend to a sip and paint event at Bobbee O"s for her birthday. We decided to arrive early so that we could get something to eat before the event started. She ordered the Pulled pork sandwich with onion rings and I ordered the beef brisket with onion rings. I asked for my beef brisket to be a mixed of fatty and burnt...however what I got was mostly fatty and no burnt ends in it at all. My friend Enjoyed her sandwich however we both agreed that The Onion ring batter was too thick and it was not very good and it was greasy. Neither one of us finished our food before the event we just simply pushed it to the side and began the painting activity. We both thoroughly enjoyed the painting activity however if I were to do this again I would eat someplace else and do the event here.

I've followed Bobbee O's from their earlier location and used them for family picnics in multiple occasions. In a city with multiple BBQ restaurants my family and I wouldn't give them repeat business unless we knew that Bobbee O's serves good Q and sides promptly at a fair price on a consistent basis. Heartily recommend.

Nice clean restaurant with cute decor.I didn't use the bathroom so I can't speak on that. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. I ordered the quarter dark smoked chicken meal which came with 2 sides and also did an add on with beef brisket. For the sides I chose greens and potato salad and both were on point with the perfect amount of seasonings. The potato salad is that sweet southern style and it had the perfect balance of creamy sweetness, yet still able to taste the potatoes. The chicken and the brisket had good seasoning. The barbecue sauce has a vinegar base which was to my surprise, yummy. The tangy with brown sugar and other spices was delicious. This meal was $20 and some change but they are a tad bit stingy with the sides so you may want to purchase additional cups. With saying all this I will return!

Good BBQ! Love this little spot. It seems family owned but I'm not exactly sure. Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy at all. The lady who took our order was extremely sweet and personable. She took our order and we seated ourselves. Our food came in like 15 min. The restaurant gives really nice homey and family vibes and the food is very tasty. I ordered the brisket with macaroni cheese and coleslaw. My least favorite thing was the cornbread because it wasn't the most moist but my meal I felt was very good. The brisket was tender, the macaroni cheese was very cheesy, and the Cole slaw was very crispy and overall I enjoyed my meal.

The people are very nice but unfortunately the food is absolute garbage. The brisket was presliced and dried out. The ribs appeared to be boiled/steamed as they were slimy underneath. Mixed up my sides, and the only thing really worth eating were the collards (which i did order) and the orka (which i didnt order). Frustrated that this mean was so bad for the $40 it cost (including tip)

First time eating here. I did place a take out order and tried something simple, BBQ smoked wings and fries. I can say the wings were top tier and slid off the bone, they were so good. The BBQ sauce was for sure not basic, it had a tangy taste but still delightful. The fries were good but even though I ordered a size small, I barely got any. I could count on my fingers of how many fires. It was like the box was complimentary. Fast service and overall still good and worth it.

The worst bbq in the city of charlotte all the the protein was very dry and the baked beans was disgusting

The service deserves a star of its own the cashier today the sweetest kindest person ever, she was patient and explained the options. The loves for the platter surprised me portions are generous and the brisket is delicious, as well as the Mac and cheese: I like they to not use the tradicional American elbow instead they use penne. For a fast barbecue dining I prefer city barbecue but my step father prefers here. So it would be a preference of ambiance and tastebuds :) I can say the vibe could use a bit of a sprucing up.

I stopped in an hour before closing and stood at the counter getting ignored for 5 minutes before I walked out. The guys in the kitchen wouldn't look at me. The glass cases were empty... I think they were trying to get out of there early If you want to close at 8pm just change your hours to 8pm I won't be back

My family and I had the best bbq here in all the years we lived here. We had the sampler which we chose smoked chicken, pulled chicken, brisket, and bbq stl ribs along with potato salad, baked beans, collard greens, corn cobbler, corn muffins, slice of toast, bread and maybe more We just had so much food..They were all delicious. My first time trying pulled chicken, and it was delicious. I'd pick the pulled chicken over pork anytime. I'm sure the service is awesome, did Uber eats. Overall experience is definitely a 10

Well your going to spend $20. BUT it will be the best $20 you have thrown down for a 3 "Bobbee" size chicken wing platter and a drink. I like to order based on recommendations. Sweetheart at the counter recommended the large smoked wing platter with a saucy glaze. My two sides were fried pickles and baked beans. They threw in some Texas toast but I was too stuffed to eat. My three things: 1) This sauce is legit. Sweet, Smokey and just a hint of spice at the end. Just what I like. 2) When I grabbed my first wing the bones fell out. Perfect smoke and not dried out like most when they try and smoke chicken. Must have brined them prior. 3) They do what they do. Pulled pork, brisket, and chicken wings are their meats. A lot of catering left the doors when I was sitting there. Pretty good sign.

The food is the best in this area if you love BBQ and the prices are reasonable. My mom's favorite place when she comes to Charlotte from SC.

Delicious, plenty of food, and staff were so nice! Reasonably priced and enjoyed our lunch.

Was in the area shopping so figured I would stop by to check this place out. Got the pulled chicken plate with fries and mac and cheese. Couldn't choose between the cornbread or the hush puppies but the guy working the counter said he liked the cornbread better. It was a touch dry but still solid. Pulled chicken was great. Loved that they gave you extra sauce because the sauce was great -- spicy yet a kick of sweet and savory. Good mix there. Might have been twice as much cheese than mac but I won't complain about it. Thought it was a little pricy but for the quality of the food I would say it's fairly worth it.

Everything is amazing. I try to eat here at least once per trip to the CLT area, sometimes twice!

I've only been to this place once. My experience was very positive in that they were very friendly and helpful. Was deciding on what to order. Also, the sides portion control is large. Like Texas portion size large! I was impressed. Also, the location is in the area where there's shopping at the Northlake mall and other restaurants. I would definitely recommend it because of the service and the portion. The only reason why I didn't give it a perfect score was because it was a to go order I didn't dine in.

The meat was tough could hardly eat it. The service was slow. The place looked nice and the music was good.

Well, we tried to eat here, through Uber Eats. The order went through, and the restaurant sent a text that the order prep would be 20 minutes. Sounds great. So we waited. 30 minutes went by, nothing. I called the restaurant and the girl who answered seemed confused. She asked me who my order was for, and I gave my name. There was a long pause then she told me "the order was coming right up". So we waited another half an hour, still nothing. Tried to call again and no answer. So I cancelled the order. I am pretty sure we dodged a bullet.

Its been a while since I did a review but this was needed. I just had the worst restaurant experience with this location. I ordered on doordash... my order is just sitting and sitting nothing is being delivered for them to call and say they dont have my address. How is that possible when you have to put an address in for your order! A hour goes by after giving my address still no delivery. I call the women on the phone says its nothing she can do. The food FINALLY arrives... 5 cold French fries... hardly cooked chicken with no sauce at all! Horrible food and service!

I said 2 years ago I was never coming back. My mom wanted it! She ordered the food for pickup! She was told it would be 20 minutes, but I waited an additional 10 because of past experiences. What happened? The food should have been bagged and ready for me to pay and leave. I pay for the food and I have to wait. Why? Because the yams would be another 10 minutes or so. I was able to substitute it for the Mac and cheese. So I gave them a total of 30 minutes to ensure that the food would be ready. Mediocre food at that! Just go to Lancaster's on Beattie Ford Rd because this place is just horrible!

Ordered $73 worth of bbq. Pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw, brisket platter with mac/cheese and baked beans, and a brisket sandwich. Ordered thru grubhub. Don't have a lot of experience with these delivery services, but am rapidly sliding into the "not a fan" category. The food was just ok. I've had more tender brisket and more tender pork. The brisket was just so-so and the pork was a little tough and had way to much hot pepper flavor. So much so that it wiped out the flavor of the pork. I ordered cole slaw on the sandwich, couldn't tell you what it tasted like. Didn't give me enough to get a taste, they put maybe a tablespoon in a small plastic container, could barely tell it was on the sandwich. They forgot the potato salad and soda. That's where grub hub comes in. I called the restaurant, complained about the missing items, said they could deliver them in 30 to 60 minutes. Or give me a store credit. Well since I'm just passing thru that wasn't gonna work, could he give me a refund? Well, no, because I ordered thru grub hub the refund would have to come from them, what pita. He said he would contact them, another 30 to 60 minutes. OK its only 9 or 10 bucks, but really! I'll wait and see if I hear back from grubhub tonight, if not I'll bitch to paypal tomorrow. It's a lot of effort for food that was just OK.

I was in last week and ordered the beef brisket platter w/ collards & fried okra, along with some smoked wings (to go). The place is order at the counter and they bring it out to you. The folks taking/delivering orders were friendly and informative. Brisket was tender and juicy, with a nice balance of fat and lean. I got the spicy BBQ sauce to go with it for some sweet heat. Collards were delicious, but I added a little vinegar anyway. Fried okra was pretty standard. Nice and crispy! The smoked chicken wings (whole wings) that I ordered were some of the best smoked wings I've ever had! Chicken fell right off the bone, with a great smoky flavor. Cornbread was a little on the dry side (my only knock on the place). Still deserving of 5 stars though! Will be back.

The best thing about this place, is the cleanliness. The food is subpar. The Mac and cheese is probably the worst in the city. I think they put onions in it. It's weird. The greens are okay. But could better. The friend chicken is okay. I'd give it a 6/10. The staff is nice though. And the atmosphere is nice. Just don't go in thinking you're going to get the best meal ever. This is very much a meal that single men who don't ever get a home cooked meal will enjoy.

This is absolutely the worst food much less BBQ I've ever had. We ordered the brisket and it had no flavor at all. The okra and Texas toast were even awful. Disgusting food! Never again

The vegetables were outstanding and the service was spot on. The yams were some of the best I've ever eaten.

I really like the food here! I have gotten food from here plenty of times, but this is the first time I've eaten inside. The atmosphere was great with a little old school music playing. The food was good, and served in black cast iron skillets. I don't think there were any complaints about anything we had. The service was great, even though it's more of a self service as far as drinks.

Attention Bobbee! This was my 2nd time visiting your restaurant and the jury is out on whether I'll be back. I suspect you wouldn't care anyway. To avoid a long wait we called ahead and ordered 2 jumbo wing dinners and 1 wingettes with a side - we were asked for our phone number - given a total and told the order would be ready in 15-20 mins. Now here is where the fun starts - we get there and guess what THEY DONT HAVE OUR ORDER - she checks checks again and checks again not there but admits she remembers our call. She asks the cooks do they have a ticket - which they don't. After ringing our order in again I politely ask what will be done for the inconvenience and - are you ready - she says I didn't have to do anything but I gave you a $3 discount - my order total was $34.97 - so uh let me get this straight I get less than a 10% discount for your mistake and you have the nerve to say you didn't have to do anything. I suggest she comp the lowest meal of our order which would be $7.99 to which she says I can't do that - some conversation ensues between her and the other 2 employees none of which could do anything So I asked for the manager after all 3 said he was gone and not available - I ask again finally one of the cooks goes storming to the back guess what THEY FOUND HIM Bobbee himself- I explained the issue he asks me for my phone number to look up the order - I remind him the order is not in his system - he's now confused lol - so he says who did you speak to we nod toward the cashier- she admits she took it but don't know what happened he fusses at her then fights with register and finally says I took $7.99 off then tells the cashier to finish the order. No I'm sorry no anything else I can do no I appreciate your patience since it's now 25 mins later - NOTHING he just walks away! Thanks Bobbee!!!! We wait another 20 minutes to get our order while every one of the 3 employees ask us repeatedly what our order was! Down to them putting it in the bag there still confirming sides and whether we had fried wings or smoked or both - AAHHHHHHH We finally made it home only to find out they got my order wrong! I will say most of what we had was good. The greens are tender and full of flavor! Chicken is tasty - Mac n Cheese was oily and they threw in potato salad and macaroni salad - potato salad good macaroni salad not so much! In the end, what should have been a 10 minute visit was an hour

Edit - the manager called and apologized for the poor experience I had. She invited me to try again and attached a coupon for me to use when I do. I will update if and when I do ever get back.

A++ The brisket was the best brisket I have ever had, it was cooked to perfection, super moist and not chewy at all! The macaroni salad was to die for, I could have taken home a whole gallon of it! The guys working were some of the kindest, most generous folks we have been served from. You can tell they take pride in their food, and throughly love what they do!

Casual atmosphere, great food. I love bbq so this is a nice treat. Place is usually pretty busy so you might have to wait for your food a little longer, but it was worth it if you ask me. Also they have lots of different desserts that I like. Kinda pricey but everything is nowadays.

5 stars for their fried chicken wings. They are banging and it's what we always come here for. All fried chicken orders are a minimum wait of twenty minutes so call ahead for fast pick up. On occasion we may also get a hot link too because those are pretty good. It's been a long while since I have had the bbq because every time we tried it, it just wasn't for us. But it's been so long - it could be good now? The mac and cheese is okay. It's got a strong taste of celery for me and just throws me off. But it's cheesy and good, other than that celery. Service is friendly but wait times on receiving your order can be hit or miss. We placed an online order one time, came AFTER the scheduled time pickup by just five minutes and our order was still not ready. We had to wait an additional 40 minutes to get our food. Maybe that was an off night. I don't know. I do love the bbq sauce here. It's sweet with a slight tang and spice. It's perfect with their fried chicken wings.

Me and my husband celebrated my bestie bday there and the vibes and food was very nice. We was there for the paint and sip and had a great time and it was BYOB so that was awesome.

Place looks appealing from the outside and the inside looks like it may be a nice place to eat... the food was AWFUL. Pulled chicken on the pulled chicken salad was dry and tasteless, and the "smoked" jumbo wings were disgusting. The wings smelled funky - definitely not smoked. If they're smoked, I really hate to see what the smoker looks/smells like. I paid $24 for some of the worst food I've had in quite some time. Overall, I would steer clear of this place. Don't waste your hard earned money here.

Good "Q". Can't wait to try the rest of the menu I originally visited Bobbee O's at their old location on Old Statesville Road before they moved to this location a couple of years ago. Have tried to visit them at this location several times but for some reason, they were always closed when I tried. Today I was in luck. Must bigger and nicer than the small place on Old Statesville Road. Love the wall art and the Jazz feel. Walked up to counter and waited my turn to order. After looking over the menu, settled on a pulled pork sandwich with Beans on the side which I upsized. They gave me a number along with a cup for my beverage which I filled myself. In a few minutes, the Pulled Pork Sandwich came out, nice and hot and wrapped in foil. Sauce on the side as was were the Beans. The BBQ is great. Nice and moist with a slight smoky sweetness to it. The sauce was interesting. Not quite a Lexington style and the sweetness was more characteristic of Memphis style. Starts out with an intense sweetness like molasses but then the flavors blend to give an overall well balanced presentation. Beans were the one thing I was not totally satisfied with. Their texture suggested that they were not completely done. Still have a crunch to them. Could have been a bit sweeter as well and this is where the molasses would have helped. Service is pretty much self serve and the only interaction you have is when you order and the guy comes out from the kitchen with your order. Not enough interaction to really rate. Atmosphere as I have mentioned is great. Nice and whimsical and and artist flair. Will definitely be back.

Loved it! Concerned by some ratings & it was empty when arriving at 1:30 on a rainy Saturday. Myself, I had the rib sandwich, amazing all meat ribs stacked between Texas toast. Add coleslaw, it's like KFC coleslaw circa 1999 but better! The hubs had a pulled pork plate, amazing sauce, great sides. Mac&cheese is mostly cheese, and soft noodles. Fried okra was hot, crispy. Anytime I'm in the area will stop again!

This was delicious always. My husband had the pulled chicken sandwich with baked beans. He'd eaten his before I could take a picture. The food never disappoints!

Last night I called in my order.They said thirty minutes my food will be ready to pick up. When I arrived, I still had to wait 20 minutes. What was the point of me calling in.? I like this place, but they need to work on being more professional. .

We always love to eat at Bobbee Os. The barbecue is so good. The people are always friendly and helpful. We had the beef brisket meal and it was delicious tender meat with wonderful sides. Got to see the restaurant owner while eating inside. Great experience and great food.
