Google
A Gelato Shop with a Smooth and Deep Flavor That Could Succeed Even in Italy Food: Chose the popular pistachio and charcoal vanilla flavors. The pistachio was sweet as always, while the vanilla was rich and mild. The pistachio flavor can be made with an oat milk base. Service: Friendly and fast. They offer tasting spoons and assist quickly at checkout. A medium size, perfect for two to share, is sold for around $8. Occasionally, they provide free sample spoons in front of the store. Ambience: Always crowded but well-organized. Outdoor seating is available and well-maintained.

Google
The cutest little gelato spot! It’s very small but cozy. Located down by cove this place offers a great variety of flavors and very reasonable prices. I got the lavender and Agostino in a Piccola cup. The lavender was sweet and crisp. The agostino was creamy and flavorful packed with banana and dulce de leche. It was so good!! They do allow you to taste flavors before you buy and they have wooden spoons available.

LOREIN

Google
Delicious vegan gelato. Got combinations of the pistachio, nocciola, chocolate, and strawberry. You can taste the quality in ingredients and flavor. Cute place to eat some gelato by the beach. Lovely staff!!

Google
It has been an honour to experience Bobboi Natural Gelato. The gelato was heaven. The Hazelnut was vibrant and clear and the coffee taste was unique and delicious. I’ve never had gelato—heck, ice cream better than this. This is the best gelato/ice cream place in my opinion. Basically, I couldn’t recommend this spot enough.

Jorge Rosas

Google
The Gelato was tasty and very refreshing. It left my mouth with a sweet taste wanting even more. The price is a little high, but understandable because of the location and amazing view.

Rina

Google
Despite the long line, the wait was surprisingly quick—only about 10 minutes. Definitely a popular spot! I tried two flavors: Bacio (hazelnut and chocolate) and Moka (coffee). Both were delicious, but I personally preferred the Moka—the coffee flavor was rich and smooth. If you’re a gelato lover, this place is worth checking out. Be prepared for a line, but trust me, it moves fast, and the gelato is worth it!

Google
This place is paradise. We tried a few different ice creams—excuse me, gelatos—and each one was absolutely wonderful. I don’t understand why there aren’t lines of gelato addicts here, because I’m definitely one now! And Paige—what a bright, welcoming presence. She makes this place even more special and a spot I’ll gladly return to.

Google
Best Gelato I may ever had! It holds a torch to some of the best gelato places I've experienced in Europe. If you like creamery or Gelato. You must try!

Kayla T.

Yelp
Amazing service! The gelato was so good, almost as good as the employees, I recommend this place to anyone looking to enjoy an authentic sweet treat!

Yelp
Bobboi Natural Gelato delivers some of the best gelato flavors I've tried. I went with the Mediterraneo and Pistachio, and both were fantastic. The pistachio was incredibly creamy and rich, hitting that perfect balance of nuttiness and sweetness. It had a depth of flavor that felt authentic, not overly sweet like some other gelatos. The Mediterraneo was equally impressive--a delightful hazelnut flavor with a smooth texture that made it easy to savor. Both flavors complemented each other well, and it's clear that Bobboi takes pride in using high-quality ingredients. If you're a fan of nut-based gelato, these are must-tries. The overall experience left me wanting to come back to explore more of their menu.

Yelp
One of my favorite dessert spot of all time due to flavor innovation, the nice staff who give big samples, location to La Jolla and the Stracciatella. It is my favorite flavor of all time, due to the high-quality of vanilla used, and the contrast with the chocolate chips. I wasn't a fan of the Rose Honey. As I felt it was too sweet, but it was very rosy, nonetheless, and trying it was definitely worth it. Definitely recommend getting samples before committing as it is a bit on the pricier side. Cute but cold outdoor seating area and ample parking on the other side of the street .

Yelp
I was super stoked to try a new gelato spot especially after seeing the consistently positive feedback, but I was admittedly underwhelmed. While flavors like pistacchio della California and bacio were quite good, the texture was on the icy side. Definitely several notches below favorites like Bacio di Latte. Very nice staff though.

Yelp
Stopped by while in visiting La Jolla. I liked that everything was fresh. They are known for the nut flavors which are good. I do wish there was some other fruit flavored ones and possibly mixing the pistachio with the rose. There's a cute outdoor seating area.

Yelp
It's a cute little shop. Everything was 10/10! I got pistachio and Stracciatella and both were very very good. The person who helped us was incredibly friendly and even shared what her favorite pairings are. Would recommend to anyone!
google avatar

Sandy B.

Yelp
Long lines, pricey for the size, and all of the gelato is in covered buckets - I've never had gelato at a place that you don't see them. Not a fan of- went down the street to another place.

Brianna L.

Yelp
Gelato: HANDS DOWN best gelato I've ever had. I'm not even a gelato girly but this ate. However it does melt really fast since it's not ice cream, I was thoroughly able to enjoy the flavors. I got pistachio and lemme just tell you, that you cannot get this flavor anywhere else like this! It had the perf amount of saltiness and was slightly sweet, which is good for people who want a sweet treat without it being too sweet. I also got the coffee, which you can probs skip on because it wasn't anything special, but overall still pretty solid. Service: They were all so nice and helpful, giving us descriptions of what their gelato tastes like, which really helped us all choose a flavor LOL. Ambience: Was kind of hard to spot, it's in a lil corner. Inside was pretty clean and a green flag was how the gelatos were in metal containers, unlike other places where they're displayed like decorations. You can also walk down towards cliff for a nice view that goes along with your gelatos :).

Yelp
My go to stop when in La Jolla and looking for gelato! They have a rotating set of flavors and some seasonal specials but I like the classics the most. Most recently I tried the bacio (great), moka (good), mediterraneo (hazelnut, pistachio, and almond- which was ok), and pistacchio (which this time was my least favorite as it was too salty though my husband loved it!). They're very efficient considering there's always a line on the weekend and you can still usually find a seating spot!
google avatar

Mikala C.

Yelp
Loved the gelato here! Lots of unique flavors to try, from charcoal vanilla to dragon lemon! You can't go wrong. My favorites were mocha and the lemon sorbet. I loved that they let you taste test and had outdoor seating to look at the ocean. Would come again!
google avatar

Vania B.

Yelp
This is such amazing gelato! Reminded me of the ones I had in Italy, with such fresh, tasty flavors and perfect smooth texture. I got the pistachio and agostino split scoop and really loved both flavors. You can taste how fresh the pistachio is. The agostino had great flavor, with banana that wasn't overpowering. I also sampled the rose gelato which was fantastic and didn't taste too floral or artificial. Came on a weekday night, an hour before closing, and the lines were still long but constantly flowing. Service was quick and friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious gelato. I got the matcha chocolate and the quadruple berry and both were amazing. The matcha chocolate was especially good--I am still thinking about it. It is close to the ocean so you can take it on a nice stroll along the La Jolla shore

Yelp
Came here at night with my family. I sampled the Julian Apple Pie, it wasn't anything special and the flavor was light. But if you enjoy fall flavors-- you might enjoy this. It's not too sweet. Next time I'll try their maple flavor, I got the "asking for another sample nerves," so I only tried one. My brother ordered the Bacio and Dark Chocolate Sorbet. This combo was so good! The bacio has a strong hazelnut flavor. It's so smooth and creamy with a light chocolate taste to it. The Dark Chocolate Sorbet, is quite dark and rich, super creamy. Highly recommend! My mom and I shared a small cup. She ordered the Fresh Lavender and I chose the Salted Caramel. I've had the salted caramel in the past and really enjoyed it then, it's been a few years and I probably should have sampled it. This time it was just wayyy too salty, almost like getting seawater in your mouth. And the caramel flavor just wasn't there. The Fresh Lavender on the other hand was light and floral-y! You could taste the lavender but it wasn't excessive. My mom liked the bright and refreshing taste of lemon that it had as well. The base is vanilla-- all these flavors made a delightful gelato! There was no line as we walked up, but after getting seated...more people came. The workers were really nice even though it was getting late. The atmosphere was light, friendly, and inviting. The lights inside and outside were warm toned which looked super lovely! I recommend this spot, just be sure to try the flavors before you order-- in case that it is different today than what it tasted like in the past (:

Yelp
Such a good sweet treat no matter the weather! I got the Stracciatella and Mapletella. They were both sweet and creamy. I liked the pop of dark chocolate chips in both flavors. It added a bit of a crunch. Service was fast and gave out samples of flavors you wanted to try. Place was kind of small but super cute! Not much seating on the outside for the amount of customers. Overall, Bobboi Natural Gelato is a must try in La Jolla!

Yelp
Food: 9/10 Service: 9/10 Ambiance: 9/10 Gelato here is great. I always think it's overhyped and then I take a bite and fall in love all over again. Sometimes the line is long, but it doesn't take long because the workers are efficient and fast. Ambiance is obviously great because the view is so beautiful!
google avatar

Aya E.

Yelp
Ordered: Grande Cup (~$10): Fresh Lavender (lavender, lemon, vanilla), Agostino (dulce de leche and ripe banana), and Mediterraneo (hazelnut, pistachio, almond) Aya's take: Thick, soft, and silky are the best words I can use to describe this gelato. The 3 flavors we chose were delicious and actually complemented one another very well. The line is long but moves quick. This is a gelato gem and worth a visit if you're in La Jolla!
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Delicious gelato and great service. Be prepared to wait in line, but that's a sign of how delicious this place is! We were able to sample a few creative/seasonal flavors prior to ordering, all of them were delicious, but we ended up going traditional, vanilla and pistachio. The location/ambience is precious and the quality of the gelato is incredible. Definitely a repeat!
google avatar

Alayna K.

Yelp
A great gelato place by the beach! The line went by in 10 minutes even though it was long. My favorite flavor was the coffee and the pistachio. They'd definitely do these flavors well- the gelato was nice and creamy. Didn't love the fruity flavors and liked AN's better honestly.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
I come to Bobboi every time I'm in San Diego. It's my favorite Gelato spot and I love that they have so many lactose free options. I love all their fruity flavors since they pack a punch and I their pistachio is super nutty. Their Gelato is smooth and overall amazing! Definitely my go to gelato place in San Diego!
google avatar

Joriene M.

Yelp
Food (5/5 stars): Bobboi Gelato is a great dessert spot in La Jolla! They had very high-quality gelato with a smooth and creamy texture and very delicious flavors. I thoroughly enjoyed their Charcoal Vanilla, Bacio (dark chocolate and hazelnut), and Straciatella. This is one of my favorite gelato places in the States! Experience (4/5 stars): * Price: a little pricey but worth trying * Wait Time: minimal on a Friday afternoon * Service: very good * Parking: street parking can be difficult * Ambiance: it's a small, modern gelato shop
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Interesting flavors and healthy portions. I tried the Julian Apple Pie and was a bit disappointed. Other apple pie flavors I've had were just richer than this. Strachiatello was very good. Great location, friendly staff, and it's always busy which tells you all you need to know.
google avatar

Kyle D.

Yelp
Overall: A great stop for some after-dinner scoops of gelato. The good: So many great (and unique) flavors, we ended up going multiple nights during our stay in the area. All of the flavors were delicious, between pistachio, charcoal vanilla, hazelnut, salted caramel, and many more. They let you have samples which helps you decide, and the staff were always friendly. The not-so-good: A little expensive and sometimes long lines, but worth it. Not a lot of seating (indoor or outdoor) after you get your order. Food/drink: 8/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Service: 8/10

Chloe L.

Yelp
Always great service and option to try flavours. The small you can get two flavours for $7 which I think is a great price for the area. Always fun ambiance and would definitely come again!
google avatar

Anna H.

Yelp
HUGE FAN!! Delicious, authentic gelato. You know it's the real deal when it's stored in a metal container with a lid! The staff was friendly and let us try a few flavors - I landed on the chocolate hazelnut and the salted caramel (2 flavors in a single which I always love). The gelato was the perfect texture and the perfect flavor - just as good as the stuff in Italy. In a great location too in La Jolla. Stop by!
google avatar

Jenny N.

Yelp
Always a great place to stop by for a sweet treat. I tried their Julian apple pie flavor and actually really enjoyed it! I was surprised since I don't really like apple pie or pie in general, but the flavor was subtle and actually felt and tasted creamy! I enjoyed it a lot. definitely recommend for the fall season :) service was good and kind considering I wanted to try so many flavors! Inside is cute and appears clean when walking through. Street parking since it's DT La Jolla!
google avatar

Christie K.

Yelp
So delicious! This is an unassuming gelato shop along the far end of the Main Street in La Jolla - except for the huge line outside! But not to worry, as the workers are quite efficient even while doling out samples of unique flavors. They had some GF flavors as well as dairy free options. Everything we tried was delicious, and the portion size was not overwhelming - my mouth wanted more but my stomach was satisfied! Definitely recommend!!
google avatar

Nora K.

Yelp
There are no bright, mind numbing colors to this gelato and they actually don't 'look' that appealing . But I've tasted nothing like it! The mango was the star and took me back to Indian summers.. strawberry was more sweet than tangy. The pistachio was nutty and gorgeously creamy(with milk) and so was the Mediterraneo. This was my favorite flavor combo. The almond amaretto had that slight medicinal after taste of artificial burnt almond seasoning and the charcoal vanilla felt bland. This was my least favorite flavors , but still savored the very last lick Have to commend the cheery service even though we came at closing and took a gazillion samples before we could make up our mind. Kudos to a place well run
google avatar

Ling L.

Yelp
Got the stracciatella & dark chocolate sorbet. Was perfect for me as a chocolate fan. Dark chocolate sorbet was soooo rich and yummy. Stracciatella was just what we needed to balance out the strong flavor. Workers were super nice and let us try samples too! Will definitely get it again
google avatar

Kenneth V.

Yelp
The stracciatella gelato at Bobboi is good although it is a little on the pricey side. The gelato itself isn't too sweet and it balances well with the bitterness of the chocolate. The store is near the shore in a good location, and the shop itself has a nice cute ambiance. The staff were friendly as well. Definitely recommend to those who are near the area!
google avatar

Angelina Z.

Yelp
YUM!! Best gelato ever! I got a split scoop of pistachio and apple pie. Super creamy and not too sweet. And so flavorful too. The cone was just okay, I probably wouldn't get it again. Cute outdoor patio.
google avatar

Jenny W.

Yelp
Solid gelato spot with unique flavors + creamy gelato. My boyfriend got coffee and chocolate hazelnut, both of which he enjoyed (though he liked the coffee more). I got the pistachio, which has a great nutty and salty flavor, and the rose, which had a super strong rose flavor (too much for me).
google avatar

Lizzy K.

Yelp
After cancelling dinner plans to watch the sunset on our last day in San Diego, was pleased to discover a Gelato place. Even more pleased to see such raved reviews on Yelp - well earned indeed. Lined moved fast and efficiently. My husband and I ordered the sorbet - I had the dragonfruit/lemon and berry - both were delicious but you can tell how natural they were - very refreshing and welcoming for our last day!
google avatar

Semra Q.

Yelp
So worth the wait! The moka and salted caramel were so flavorful and filling the small size was perfect for a sweet tooth craving. The employees are so nice and patient and offered many samples before letting me pick out my two flavors. Perfect to have while walking along the park.
google avatar

Samantha C.

Yelp
Wow, perfect texture and creaminess with unique flavors! We came here on a whim and it was a pleasant surprise. Line is sometimes long, but goes by fast. They also pack the gelato in the deceptively small cup. A couple standout flavors include Mediterraneo (imagine a ferrero rocher with a hint of nuttiness) and Baccio (such a rich, creamy chocolate). Don't be shy to sample them all!
google avatar

Iniyai T.

Yelp
I think it's rated high because it's in San Diego where the weather makes you want to eat ice cream. We got the salted pistachio which was more salty than sweet. Maybe we just got the wrong flavor. Would not go back.
google avatar

Han L.

Yelp
I'm a fan. One of my favorite gelato ice cream places in san diego. Love the flavors and the textures.
google avatar

Regina L.

Yelp
Friendly service and yummy gelato walking distance from the La Jolla Cove! We came on a Saturday afternoon and there was a small line but it moved very quickly. Service was prompt and friendly and I appreciated how Bobboi allows you to sample. I decided to order the "Media" ($7.55) which is their medium size and got their Stratiacella (vanilla with chocolate chips) and their Moka (espresso with dark chocolate chips). Both flavors were delicious and refreshing. The shop is cute but small and unfortunately there wasn't any open tables so we decided to eat our gelato while walking towards the cove. Nevertheless, Bobboi is a great option if you want something sweet by the beach!
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
Mediterraneo 5 strong hazelnut flavor, pistachio, subtle almond Dairy pistachio della California 5 strong pistachio flavor Berrywhite 3 white chocolate, strawberry subtle, Lebanese rosewater after-taste; not like the refreshing strawberry @ Salt & Straw Dulce de leche banana 3 sweet milky banana Mango Ataulfo 3 sorbet
google avatar

Anne C.

Yelp
Lovely flavors and a quiet seating area for a post meal dessert! Staff were friendly and welcoming Loved that you could pick two flavors for any size of gelato you get. We really enjoyed the lavender and bacio (tasted like Ferraro rocher!)
google avatar

Nell E.

Yelp
bobboi gelato is always spot on flavors! a bit on the pricier side and portions are smaller but overall very tasty.
google avatar

Julia J.

Yelp
Holiday time in the busy every where. And this ice cream store always busy with line long & short then long never stop. Great Gelato ice cream, nice service.
google avatar

Amy T.

Yelp
Best gelato in SoCal!! It's prettyyyy close to Edoardo's in Florence, but still not it exactly. A pretty good replacement though! It would be so over for me if there was a Bobboi was closer to us in OC :')
google avatar

Debbi P.

Yelp
Wow!! As good as Italy!! Amazing flavors that are soooo yummy!!! Nice sized scoops!!! And a really friendly staff!! Can eat inside or out.
google avatar

Ricky K.

Yelp
I could come here every single day. During my trip to San Diego, Bobboi's gelato was one of my favorites throughout my trip. The flavors of each one is unique, and it's just made so well and it's refreshing. I got the Orange Cranberry and I loved how fresh and tart it was. It had that nice blend of sweetness, and you can really tell that the real fruit was incorporated in the gelato. I don't normally get vanilla, but it had that charcoal addition so that gave me an incentive to get it hehe. The vanilla bean had that really good creamy texture and it honestly tasted like a lil toastier version from normal vanilla which I really liked. The service was quick and friendly and I will definitely make my stops here once again when I'm in the area! I love that it's located on top of the beach front of La Jolla and it's such a cool place to enjoy some good gelato.
google avatar

Taylor W.

Yelp
Got the dragon lemon and quatroberry! They were both so refreshing and delicious! This is a cute shop with lots of flavors! 100% would come back!
google avatar

Nell C.

Yelp
Hands down Bobboi Gelato is my favorite because their flavors are amazing and it tasted light. Service was wonderful and thank you for the samples outside. Here in La Jolla it is in a lovely location over looking the ocean.
google avatar

Amelia D.

Yelp
5/5 service & hospitality - I tried so many flavors, , 5/5 gelato with sweet, nutty, and tart flavor offerings, 5/5 ambiance with a cute front porch and a little street facing gelato cart. A treat so sweet we came back twice during our weekend trip to San Diego. I tried several of the flavors (including charcoal vanilla, cranberry orange, and dragon fruit) but absolutely fell in love with the seasonal offering of pumpkin amaretto so I got it both times. Their pistachio is salty, with a strong nutty flavor and less sugar than the typical Sicilian pistachio gelato. The second time I ate here I switched out pistachio for bacio (milk chocolate hazelnut) which was true to the Italian classic. Though not featured, my friend who I came with ordered the Dragon Fruit and the oatmilk pistachio both of which she adored. The Dragon Fruit was tart and bright purple, an unusual take on sorbeto. It's a short walk from the beach so we took our cups to the sea and enjoyed the flavors from there!
google avatar

Jenny E.

Yelp
My kids are insane over this! The line was long but worth the wait! Flavors awesome. Service great. We happy!
google avatar

Liliana A.

Yelp
This line was outdoor and for a reason! We all got something different and they were all a 10/10. I got the salted caramel and berry lavender, we also got the almond almerrato, mango and strawberry and the pistachio flavor one.
