The Best Restaurants in Winston-Salem, North Carolina | Eater Carolinas

"This 2024 James Beard-nominated bakeshop gives all the signs of a French patisserie, but the decor says suburban oasis. Owners John and Lucia Bobby had long careers in fine dining before working together in this space. The rotating seasonal pastry case features delicate tarts, multilayered entremets, croissants, and a daily sandwich special made with artisan old-world bread baked with locally milled flour. The attention to detail is so precise that the iced coffee has frozen coffee as ice cubes." - Nikki Miller-Ka

Google
what I love most about Bobby Boys is the service. Everyone is always so pleasant and it feels so peaceful and calm in the shop No matter how long the line is. But maybe my favorite thing but Bobby boys is the care that they take when making my tea. I get the Westminster. And so many people here have beautiful coffee drinks. i’m trying to list my go to items, my personal faves are the pastries and the quiche! they make them phenomenal twice bakedchocolate, croissant, and danishes with all the right fruits in them. I’m not interested in eating cream filled eclairs or the super cute french patisserie, but my partner gets them and he loves them. The quiche, freshly made daily, comes with a huge serving of arugula, lightly dressed with lemon and salt and pepper, which is my favorite way to enjoy greens. Have I mentioned that they make their own bread here? It might be the only place you can get a spelt loaf for $8! Because it’s this time of year, November/December and the holidays are upon us, I should addthe creamy tomato soup and a wedge of their pumpkin bread As two “my favorite things”… 😉 Possibly, being new to the area, I really just like how many people are in both of the shops… The one on Reynolda And the one on Poplar roads. It makes me feel a part of the community that I’m not part of (yet!) and especially grateful that there’s a place that I feel like Bobby boys. it’s Christmas time here so I will share the Christmas treats images 😁🎄💓 Keep it going, Bobby Boys, you’re All providing a wonderful product, service and experience here in Winston-Salem. ~ Thank you

Google
Bobby boy’s is worth the trip. It’s pastries and desserts are off high quality and very tasty. I skip the pastries that you might buy at any French bakery and go for the unique desserts that are rich and delicate. It is always busy and often you will find your self outside in a line, don’t turn around and press onward! A fun fact is that instead of water ice cubes they use coffee ice cubes,

The pastries and baked goods here are amazing. Everything is made in-house, and you can really tell—everything tasted super fresh and delicious. It’s one of those places where you want to try a little bit of everything. Definitely worth stopping in if you love good baked treats.

Google
This is our new favorite place to treat ourselves to a tranquil breakfast. Walking in you immediately sense a calmness and breathe a little easier. Everyone is kind in a peaceful manner- no loud voices or loud noises, soft music in the background, it’s so lovely. The bakery items and pastries are incredibly delicious. So much true flavor, nothing artificial. It’s all fresh and with the best ingredients, to give your palette such incredible flavors and textures. You will be spoiled forever more after experiencing such delectable delights. This is a MUST visit if you enjoy fine croissants and pastries. You will be grateful you did! Life is too short to miss the food experience here. 💗 They also serve coffees and some lunch items. The facility is immaculately clean.

Wanted some sweets so I googled best bakeries. I tried a variety of treats all with halloween and fall themes. I went back the next week and got 2 more, not pictured. This is a great place, service was on point in and out.

The artistry of these desserts is unmatched. Everyone was helpful and patient. We got there around 9:45 on Thursday and they had plenty of goodies! I opted for savory and then sweet items to go. My friend and I both got the Brown Sugar Maple Latte, very good but was not sweet like the name led us to believe. The Everything Puff Pastry filled with goat cheese was phenomenal! My friend got the Morning Bun and said the cinnamon and orange were great flavors. Her to go box included the Lemon Berry and mine was the Ginger Cookies and a Chocolate Raspberry that was beautiful and tasty. I’m looking forward to trying the new location on Poplar St downtown. It is very cute inside and they have two outside areas. Parking is a private lot and free street parallel parking.

Fantastic pastries. 🥐 very beautiful. Quick line and easy to get seating

Google
I haven't had a sandwich I really NEEDED to have again, they're all solid choices but they're very pickled vegetable forward and experimental. The pastries are always delicious, never a wrong choice. I am always very excited to see their new seasonal options. Most of their desserts are chocolate or espresso based, but they all stand apart from one another.

Yelp
Looking for a place to cool down this summer, with some of the best pastries and drinks? You've come to the right place! Bobby Boy Bakeshop has won awards for their baked goods. People come from all over just to try their pastries. I was just there this week and heard some of the visitors talking about this Bakeshops awards and reviews. They ordered one of everything! As for me, I decided on Pistachio Croissant Creamy pistachio filling on the inside with light sprinkling of pistachio nuts in the outside. Must try! Cold brew, Nitro with splash of Oat-milk. Decaf vanilla latte with Oat-milk. (Yes, decaf can taste good!) The presentation is stunning! The croissant was fresh, flaky and delicious with the highest quality of ingredients! I always enjoy their coffees and teas. They have some of the very best in the area! There is indoor and outdoor patio seating. I suggest going early if you can. There is often a line, but totally worth the wait! The service is always friendly but professional. They don't rush you. They allow you to take your time and answer all questions. Do yourself a favor, crave some time out this summer to visit Bobby Boy Bakeshop!

Yelp
Came in on a Tuesday morning around 9:30, and the place was packed. We had to circle a few times in order to find parking. The twice baked almond croissant may be the best almond croissant I have ever had. Was thoroughly impressed. My husband really enjoyed the mushroom danish. Had both warmed up, which was a cherry on top. Great first impression. Looking forward to trying more on the menu.

Yelp
After hearing so many epic things about this bakery, we had to give it a go. We went on a Saturday morning, and had to wait out in a queue for 20 mins at least, before we even got into the building. If that isn't enough to tell you about the place, I don't know what is. It's a tiny bakery that shares the seating space with another restaurant. But it still gives off a very warm and welcoming vibe. A couple things were already sold out, including the almond croissant. But they still had plenty amazing options that we were very confused. In the end we chose a classic butter croissant and a Valrohna Brownie. The croissant was so flaky and buttery. Too good. But the brownie had my heart. So rich and soft. It was truly an indulgent treat, and I loved it. Can't wait to try more from this bake house.

Yelp
Wow! So much to choose from!! First time visiting but will be back! Great vibe! Indoor and outdoor seating were comfortable. The coffee was great. I got a mocha latte and an almond croissant. Amazing! A friend got the quiche. It was soooo creamy and came with a small salad. I will be back for that! Service was spot on. Each drink is skillfully made. Overall great experience!!!

Yelp
This bake shop is truly a hidden gem. You can stand outside and watch the magic happen or come inside and savor the delicious variety of bakery items this shop has. The folks behind the counter are always ready and willing to answer questions about their different items and always offer wonderful, tasty suggestions. The venue is spacious, but the line will typically still spill outside during busy hours. You can also grab a glass of wine to go with your tasty treat with its neighboring venue located inside. The only thing I wish is that they were open longer.

Yelp
Another bakery lying in my list for a while, finally got to try! First of all, cute place, inside and out. They have parking in both the front and the back, which is super convenient. They have a patio on the back of the shop for people to enjoy a cute and quite sunny day. They also have good oriental atheistic views around the shop. A line was there ending outside of the shop when I arrived and it kept the length for a while, but from standing in the line to order only took me less than 15mins. The pastries were pretty and tasty, I got a bunch of them. So far I've only tasted the mushroom danish, and it was delicious! The croissant looks good from the outside, but I don't have enough space in my stomach for it. The staffs were pleasant and friendly, which makes you feel good to spend some good time there, either working or getting together with friends and family.

Yelp
In my opinion, Bobby Boy is still the best bakery in the Triad and surrounding areas. During the pandemic, there would be a line at the door - for obvious pandemic reasons. Four years later, there's still a line at the door - for a different obvious reason of everyone wanting some good pastries/coffee/baked goods. The look of the food matches the flavor and execution. A solid foundation where their workflow is seamless whether taking customer orders or bringing out new, fresh food. This past visit I had their Foccacia Slab and it's already my favorite bite all year. Four years later, still....highly recommend.

Yelp
Been on the list for sometime now, finally got the opportunity to head out and try them for once. We got there around 12:30 pm on Saturday and had wait outside in line for about 15 minutes becore we could get it. The line moving quickly as the servers were very prompt and quick. They share the space with a restaurant so make sure you get inside from the front (on the road) . They have parking in front but there also some street parking available. They have a magnificent display of desserts to sell! We got their butter croissants (classic) and the caramel chocolate brownie! Both quite contrasting to each other. The croissant was light, airy and delicious while the brownie was fudgy thick slab of chocolatey toffee goodness. We got the order as to-go but ate everything before we even got to our car.

Yelp
I have visited Bobby Boy many times and I am always blown away by them. It's not uncommon for them to have a line out the door, but it is always worth any wait. Once you get inside the shop's ambiance is like that of a European bakery. Every pastry and dessert is its own work of art. The attention to detail is incredible. What makes it even better is that everything tastes as good as it looks. In addition to the pastries, desserts, and sandwiches they also offer coffee that is just as delicious. I haven't been to try out their extensive wine collection they offer so hopefully next time. If you are in Winston Salem Bobby Boy is a must to visit.

Yelp
Amazing food. Sandwich is perfect. Prosciutto and guyere on a baguette. Chocolate eclair, banana bread and potato and lemon soup

Yelp
If you're craving a fabulous handcrafted coffee drink, a light healthy breakfast and some rustic sweet treats, Bobby Boy Bakeshop is where you need to be. Gets pretty crowded at all different times but they do have a few regular tables, a large U shaped bar and outside seating when the weather permits. Friendly & helpful service; everyone always has a smile on their face. A simple cappuccino & butter croissant is honestly such a luxury here and their baked goods are all wonderful; nothing artificial or too sweet. Love it here and will be back next time I'm in town, thank you!

Yelp
Ahhh this place is amazing! The food and the folks behind the counter are what make this place. I've never had a bad "sandwich of the day!" Pictured below, you'll see a fancy grilled cheese..I can't remember what all was in it but it was heavenly! Their pastries are scrumptious & so beautiful!! It makes me feel like I'm watching a dessert baking show every time I go in! There's always a line, but I promise it's worth your time!
google avatar

Yelp
You won't regret stopping by for a treat! The line was long but moved very quickly. Taste was equivalent to presentation. The Ginger Molasses cookie sandwich was my personal favorite. The gentle spicy kick of ginger amps up the flavor and the sugar crystals melt in your mouth. If you loved Oatmeal Cream cookies as a kid (or still do), this will bring the nolstalgia (which is why I ordered this) but give you more. The chocolate caramel entrement was epic! The layers of different textures and chocolate flavors meld together for a wonderfully indulgent bite. While I didn't catch a bite of the chocolate croissant, my daughter reported it was the best. We also picked up a prosciutto sandwich and the bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. We'll be back for more.

Yelp
Looking for a little sunshine this weekend? Bobby Boy is always one of our go to spots for delicious pastries, sandwiches, and espresso. Everyday they have a sandwich special (you've gotta ask about it ) that's available starting at 11 am. Everything from their meatball with burrata to their shrimp roll with tarragon + @texaspetesauces jelly - everything is paired together beautifully. Don't forget to add a slab of their focaccia with prosciutto, burrata, and homemade tomato sauce.

Yelp
Love, love this bakery spot. Delicious bakery items. However they have daily sandwich specials that are to die for. Today Shrimp roll with aioli in a beautiful grilled roll with poppy seeds. Prosciutto and cheese baguette, mind you the baguette was fabulous crunchy and fresh. I had a blueberry ginger house made soda!!! Highly recommend! Thank Bobby boy for an amazing sat

Yelp
This is a cute little bakery. The desserts look amazing but the croissants and pastries are dry. The service is great and some of the desserts are delicious.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute atmosphere! Busy. Desserts were amazing! Also picked up a nice bottle of bubbly. A must return
google avatar

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite bakeries. The pastries are unmatched. I need to get back for a meatball sub ASAP because that thing is ELITE. They have an incredible variety of savory and sweet. Their croissants are my all time fav. The ham and cheese, almond, chocolate, pistachio, or plain ole butter is anything but plain. Ily Bobby boy.

Yelp
After seeing the reviews for this place we thought we just had to go! My partner and I went on a Saturday afternoon and got an assortment of things to try. We tried three of the different croissants, a tart, and an eclair. All were great, the eclair was a bit sweet for my taste. The presentation was cute and all the available pastries looked perfect. The location itself was a bit small and there wasn't a lot of space inside to sit and have coffee if you got any. The staff wasn't especially nice, they were pretty middle of the road. All in all I think we give this place 4.3 stars but rounding down

Yelp
THEY....HAVE...CAKE!! Not just any cake, but 3 tiers of red velvet perfection!! Ok, so today I stopped by to satisfy my craving for the fococia slab. I walk in and there it was! This 3 tiered vision of red, cocoa infused perfection, with fluffy cream cheese frosting covered in chocolate sprinkles!! I wasn't going to do it, but the three ladies before me each got a slice and influenced my decision. I'm so glad I got it. This cake was fantastic. Not too dense, hints of cocoa in the cake, and the star of the show was the light and airy cream cheese frosting. Most red velvet cakes have thick, overly sweet frosting. It was soooo good and worth the $5.50 for the slice!!! This could become a problem!!

Yelp
I've never been to the store (yet!) so this is a review of the baked goods and not anything about the location, service, or seating, although I am sure it is a very nice space. Do you ever have one of those places that keeps being mentioned over and over? That's Bobby Boy Bakery. Someone mentioned it. The next day I got to try one of their cookie-based creations at work - and it was AMAZING! Then something wonderful and unexpected happened... During my usual evening walk in Downtown Greensboro, I saw a friend standing outside of Little Brother Brewing (dressed up as the Little St. Nick pop-up) and they summoned me over. It was their annual holiday get-together and they invited me in. Next thing I know, another friend introduces me to one of their friends who runs Bobby Boy! And there in front of me is one of the most beautiful spreads of holiday and other baked goods. To say I overindulged is an understatement but every single bite was better than the next. On top of it, they were as sweet as their baked goods. So 3 days in a row they get mentioned and 2 of 3 days resulted in amazingly delicious baked goods, I call that a win! Can't wait to visit the store! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Happy to hear they're nominated for a James Beard award! I know bakeries, and I think if you were to look at me, you would know and not question that I indeed know bakeries. BB is definitely the best bakery in the Triad and probably the best I've ever been to! Their croissants and pastries are just done so beautifully! Crisp and flaky crusts with flavorful fillings that are perfectly proportioned. And the prices are very reasonable for the quality! Hopefully they don't raise the prices, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do. I love the orange zest on the morning roll, the vanilla crème in the croissant, and I think maybe their best thing is the almond croissant! I hadn't been able to try that before because my wife was allergic to almonds, but apparently now she can have them, which means I can have them again! The place is small and usually crowded inside, with good reason, so I would plan to just get your things and take it to go, but they do make some decent beverages in there as well if you're looking for a gourmet coffee to go with your pastries. The front of house service is friendly and respectful as well. They're not at all surprised to see me order one of just about everything they got behind the counter and then some! They know they got some amazing treats to sell! If you're going to skip anything, I wouldn't bother getting the hot sandwiches. That's nothing special. I'm going there for the pastries! They also have loaves of bread too that I'm sure are wonderful! Anyway, thought with the award nomination I would update my review and to say I hope they win because they deserve it! I also hope they relocate soon to a bigger place with more parking. Just don't move too far away!

Yelp
Bought some pastries here including a banana jam Danish, a ham and cheese croissant, and ginger molasses cookies. And there wasn't a single pastry I didn't like. I'm not big on pastries, but these were so good that I'm making an exception for this place! They nailed getting every texture just right -- so buttery and flavorful. I highly recommend the almond pastry with the caramelized raisins (forgot the name). It's my absolute favorite! It reminds me of apple fritters except better with all the almonds, raisins, and condensed milk on top. I'm so glad I found my favorite bakery in North Carolina. I'll have to make a stop here every time I travel to Winston Salem now! 6 out of 5 stars

Yelp
In the few years that it's been open, Bobby Boy has attained a loft reputation, a status reinforced by the line out the door that greeted me on arrival. Given that, I really wanted to love this place, but I will have to settle for liking it instead. One area where Bobby Boy definitely did not disappoint was its selection. The bakery boasts several kinds of bread, several types of croissants and rolls, cookies, pastries, coffees, and more. If you have anything resembling a sweet tooth, you're in for a hard decision here. While everything here looks amazing, the high-ish prices may dampen some of that enthusiasm. Still, quality can override cost consciousness. For my first visit, I went with a vanilla honey raisin roll and picked up a pan au chocolat for my wife. The former was very sweet, but it wasn't a one-dimensional sweetness. The latter packed in plenty of rich chocolatey flavor but lacked some of the buttery flakiness of croissants found elsewhere.
google avatar

Meleia W.

Yelp
Lined up to the door as a good bakery should be. Quick and attentive staff. Everything we tried was amazing. I didn't think to take pics of what I brought home for later. I got a mushroom tart for the next day. I popped it in the air fryer the next day for lunch and wow . While there we got a banana jam croissant also amazing !
google avatar

Yelp
How amazing. A small counter space, but large area for seating, which was so full I couldn't believe it !!First time here, I got a prosciutto and gruyere sandwich, oh my the bread so fresh and crispy. The prosciutto was thinly sliced and not too chewy. You could tell these sandwiches were made with love !! The butter thinly spread, with a sharp gruyere piece in every bite, mmmmm so delicious, I will be getting this again !!! I also got a cinnamon roll!! And an iced latte which was beautifully poured with a house made syrup, I got maple brown sugar! The employees behind the counter were very kind and made sure to get my order correct. Great communication between coworkers from what I could see.

Yelp
i cannot rate this high enough. i had an amazing experience here. there was a line out the door sunday morning but the employees were so patient and helpful. all of the pastries are a work of art! and so far they taste just as good. i am not a coffee person and their hot chocolate was on point. i highly highly recommend their prosciutto and gruyère sandwich. oh my goodness was it amazing. the focaccia was also very good!

Yelp
Good gracious, this is the closest we've found to a patisserie since we visited Europe. The baked goods are rich, flavorful, and decant and not overly sweet at all. Everything is artfully crafted and as beautiful as it is delicious. The eclair choux pastry was crisp and light with a perfect balance of filling. The coffee is locally roasted, bold, and addictive in the best way. Oh, did I mention they share a space with a wine bar! Coffee, wine, and baked goods? Best of both worlds. If you're in Winston-Salem, be sure to swing by this gem.
google avatar

Anita R.

Yelp
Bobby Boy is an incredible find in the humble town of Winston-Salem! All of their pastries are beautifully built, and I appreciate the intricacies that Chef Bobby incorporates into his creations. In the day, Bobby Boy is almost always bustling and busy with customers. Even so, their staff ensure that customers are treated with respect. The space is decorated well, and I'm excited to see what comes next! I love Bobby boy for my occasional indulgences; their products are delicious!!
google avatar

Yelp
Been coming here since they opened and have several nice things to say :) they use Magic Beans coffee so the coffee is superb - my favorite order is the iced nitro cold brew (the ice cubes are made from coffee... genius.) I've had an assortment of desserts from here and have never been disappointed. Lately I've been trying new things I wouldn't normally order because I know I won't be disappointed. Today I ordered pain au raisin (I don't care for raisins) and I not only enjoyed it but would order it again. Some of my favs are the almond croissant, blue corn cookies, and I like their macarons although they're on the sweeter side. I've never been during lunch time but their lunch specials look great. Staff is always friendly but they stay BUSY so be prepared for no-nonsense when the line is wrapped outside and around the building. Pro tip- get there very early if you go in the morning on the weekend bc you will wait in line for a long time. And bundle up if it's winter time :D Worth the wait!! (There's parking behind the building and extra parking on the side street) the back patio is divine in the summertime... grab a book and camp out while you sip.
google avatar

Yelp
This is a pretty special bakery. The bakery shares the building it seems with a wine shop but in the Morning they have the whole place to themselves so you can sit anywhere. Along with their perfectly baked goods they have a coffee menu to order from and their lattes are no joke, full barista quality with even that beloved heart shaped foam on top as you can see from my pic. Order the apple Danish ..it's to die for. Of course along with this upscale bakery, comes upscale prices. 3 pastries, latte and a drip including tip came out to a hefty $30, so be prepared to treat yourself here and pay the price for it. What I'm saying is, it's a special occasion for me and I come once in a while.

J T.

Yelp
I found the almond croissant to be dry and overpriced. There is a line out the door so we wanted to try it.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely place where everything looks delicious and you don't know what to pick. Was here for breakfast so split a chocolate croissant and danish. Both were delicious. The desserts looked amazing too. Staff were friendly and a nice chic setting to eat. As a New Yorker, an unexpected high quality bakery in Winston-Salem. Highly recommend.

Yelp
WTH how have I not reviewed this place! This is one of the go to places for my mom I. We eat here all the time! We went today and got their sandwich of the day the shrimp roll and wow it was truly one of the best things I have eaten in... well I can't remember the last thing I liked that much! Such attention to detail which should just be their motto. It isn't just this sandwich but their desserts, just look at them!!! The sandwich though, house made toasted milk bread (with a proper slit on the top) and the lovely addition of poppy seeds filled with poached NC shrimp tossed with tarragon, aioli, and preserved lemon (a fantastic detail that enhances the lemon and cuts the acidy). Oh and paired with some fantastic white wine from Caviste and a meal completed with a key lime cheese cake and a glass of champagne. Fork in me I'm done! Yes this was a special today and they have rotating desserts but I've always enjoyed my meal there. They don't have a ton of lunch items; quiche of the day, sandwich of the day, soup etc. but again it all begins with an amazing attention to detail. If you are visiting this place don't miss out! If you live here, you should really already have this place on your rotation!

Yelp
My partner and I came here to celebrate the holiday season, end of finals, and try the seasonal menu! We tried their Christmas hat, christmas tree, pistachio eclair, chair paris, and pear and cranberry danish pastries. We are both huge fans of Bobby Boy and was not disappointed. Our favorite was the Christmas hat, my best explanation of it is an elevated Ferraro Rocher. I also loved the pear and cranberry danish. I have always loved danishes and the sweet baked pear, tangy cranberry sauce, sweet cream, and crunch and flaky pastry worked together so beautifully. The pistachio eclair was also delicious, I loved the candied pistachios on top and the pistachio cream had a great amount of flavor. My only complaint was that the cream is denser and heavier than the original eclair but still tasty. The chai paris has a very strong chai flavor which I appreciate. It was creamy, fluffy, light, and had texture from some nuts inside the pastry. The christmas tree is something they had last season and overall very tasty. I wish there was more texture to it, overall it's more gelatinous and soft but the flavors were very delicious. Will be coming back for their April/Easter menu! Really want to try their bunny bottoms (if they have it again).

Yelp
Have you ever wanted to live in a Nancy Meyers film? If so, I'm with you! And guess what? That wish came true today @bobbyboybakeshop when my son and I stopped in before doing an errand. I felt like an extra in 'Something's Gotta Give' or 'It's Complicated'. And the quality of pastry and bread matched the vibe, as was alluded to by the long line that fed through the front entrance as we ate our lunch. My son obsessed over how good his focaccia with prosciutto tasted. I asked about the sandwich lol. My braised chicken salad sandwich on sesame bread toasted perfectly with butter and spread with jalapeño aioli was absolutely divine. We ordered an oat latte and Orange Calamansi Soda to go with our food. We ordered a few baguettes and pastries on our way out the door to take with us. We couldn't resist. My son came home and immediately baked some garlic in herbed oil and sliced a baguette for snacking. He appreciates a good loaf of bread. The lemon tarts were the best we've had. The top is very intense with lemon flavor but inside is a mild and light cream custard that balances just right with it. There is back lot parking and a patio in the back, next to a lovely rock garden fountain if you don't see any parking up front.

Yelp
Love this place. To start, there is always a line but it moves quickly. It sits in a mini plaza, which in the summer, there is a fruit & veggie stand.. to add that guilt touch lol but really it adds a cute touch to the atmosphere. When you come in, you get to stare at all the treats before ordering. You first approach the breads.. Danishes, cakes, baguettes etc. To the right of that, will be all of your refrigerated pastries like eclairs, entremets etc. I have tried their cake with was a citrus and fruit but I cannot remember the name but they switch it up so the name probably does not matter but just not it was good and very light. I've also had their Apple danish, which is flaky and buttery but sweet. I've also had their lemon sponge cake. Amazing. They have a coffee bar that has some bomb ass flavors. I get the iced lattes with they maple syrup and it's so creamy with the perfect amount of sweetness. Definitely go try and check them out.

Yelp
Literally my favorite place for the almond croissant. It's huge and filled with a nice thick almond paste goodness...No one else compares. I love that they have inside and outside seating. The drink menu is minimal, in my opinion.... But in retrospect it's not a coffee shop..it's a bakery. Going back tomorrow to grab a few goodies to bring home.

Yelp
Bobby Boy is a pastry paradise. The cozy ambiance, with few indoor and outdoor seats, set the mood for delightful morning indulgence. I'll admit that since seating is so limited, I usually take the pastries to go. The employees are all so friendly and ensure that you receive fast service. I have yet to try a pastry that doesn't taste amazing from Bobby Boy. You can choose whatever is on their menu and you won't go wrong! The moment I laid eyes on all the pastries behind the glass display, I knew I was in for a treat. My all-time favorite is their Twice Baked Almond Croissant. The croissant is perfectly crisp on the outside, with a generous layer of almond paste that adds a delightful nutty sweetness to the croissant's butteriness. Aside from the Twice Baked Almond Croissant, Bobby Boy offers a wide array of other pastries and breads that are equally delightful. I've also tried their ginger molasses cookie, which is a soft baked cookie filled with cream cheese icing. I loved how soft the cookie was, and the icing complemented it so well! I classically order it in the fall and wintertime, but it tastes amazing any time of the year. If you're in the area, I highly recommend making a stop at this bakery. It's a true gem for pastry lovers.

Yelp
Generally amazing. Until today, all of my experiences here have been 5 star, but I asked them to heat up a croissant, but it was brought out almost burnt. The Nitro Cold Brew was unremarkable and tasted a little like old coffee. Blah. Like I said though, I've been here at least three other times and everything I had was surerlative.

Yelp
Kind and helpful employees, very polite, patient and willing to answer questions; but they are also very speedy! The line was out the door when we arrived, but we were in, ordered, paid and left with our items within 10 minutes - great job on behalf of the staff keeping things moving, and management in staffing the store appropriately. I am coming from Vancouver, BC, a foodie capital, and more recently, Denver. In the US, I haven't been able to find any pastries to rival the city center of Vancouver until Bobby Boy. Freshly baked, crispy layers and a flaky crust (a tad sweeter than I'm used to for the raspberry) but not TOO sweet. Whether you're local, or even just passing through, I highly recommend checking this bakery out.

Yelp
We finally came to Bobby Boy Bakeshop on our way out of town because the hours make it hard for me to get here during the week. It blew me away because of the types of pastries that it had with not only the variety but the taste and the prices. I ordered two savory and one sweet pastry to share with my wife, all of them were not only beautiful but full of rich flavors. I really can't say enough good things about this place and I truly hope to come back soon.

Yelp
In town visiting family, I went to Bobby Boy Bakeshop 5 days in a row! Their pastries are amazing - especially the chocolate croissants! The coffee is great and the staff is friendly and accommodating. They are attached to a wine bar and my only suggestion would be to offer mimosas as well!

Yelp
Bobby Boy is a fantastic bakery. I'm partial to their ham and cheese baguettes and pistachio croissants. Everything I've tried from here has been phenomenal.

Yelp
I'm not going to say I like this more than Fabian's(used to be in this building)but...This is truly a great spot in the Buena Vista neighborhood of Winston-Salem! I have only tried a Latte, some pastries, and macarons but will return one day for the sandwich special!! Everything was delicious and surprisingly quick despite the long line.

Yelp
INTRO: The BEST French bakeshop in Winston-Salem and the greater Triad area. The quality and variety of their pasties is unlike anything you'll experience in this city. The intricacies and delicacy of their pastries resemble that of bakeries found in Paris, France. As a world traveler, I have been to France. Honestly, some of the bakeries in France are subpar compared to Bobby Boy. When I say that you won't be disappointed, YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED. That's the Zack guarantee. ENTREE 1: Twice Baked Almond Croissant ($4.50) - In the center of this croissant, you'll find a warm chocolate surprise that will complement the fluffy and flakey croissant. The outer crust of the croissant will give you that "crunch" texture, which is instantly be balanced out by the soft and airy inside of the croissant 10/10 ENTREE 2: Apple danish ($3.75) - A standard apple danish. Honestly, I felt like the apple to filling ratio was off, which caused the danish to taste a bit dry. 6/10 ENTREE 3: Chocolate Coffee Caramel ($7.00) - Coffee creme, vanilla caramel, hazelnut financier. The richness of the chocolate will make you feel like you have a million dollars in your bank account. That's how rich this chocolate is. But it gets better. There's multiple layers of different types of chocolate, topped off with a chocolate cover. 10/10 ENTREE 4: Santa Hat ($7.50) - Buckeye truffle, peanut butter mousse, chocolate sponge, peanut butter crunch. This pastry will literally melt in your mouth. Your mind won't be able to process the different flavors that are partying with your tastebuds. This item is the definition of a food-gasm. 10/10 DRINK 1: Iced Vanilla Latte ($4.50) - Bland, tasteless. 3/10 DRINK 2: Iced Americano ($3.00) - Standard Americano, nothing special. 5/10 WORTH IT? ABSOLUTELY. The pastries will make you feel like you're in France. The drinks, less so. (Overall 10/10)

Yelp
My friend raves about this place so I couldn't give up coming to try their baked goods. It's a quant spot nestled about 2 miles from Wake Forest University. It's in walking distance of some very nice neighborhoods. Counter service is very friendly. They answer whatever questions you have without looking like you're annoying them. I got a peach danish with a cup of mocha latte. This was one fine piece of danish! You could see they use fresh peaches and the texture of the danish was flaky and crispy with hints of sugar sprinkled on it. I loved my cup of mocha latte as well. Full bodied with just the right amount of foam. Cute spot for a relaxing break from a the hustle and bustle of the day.
