Dry-aged steaks & Dungeness crabs headline the lineup at this cozy, masquerade-themed spot.
"This Venetian jester-themed steakhouse (yes, you read that right) in the Marina has a lot going for it, though coulrophobes should stay away. Once you get over the life-sized harlequin dolls on the walls, settle into a plush booth and enjoy steak, giant slabs of pork belly, and classic sides like mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. But the most thrilling part about a night here, obviously, is their completely free parking lot. Just follow the sign for Bobo’s lot in the back, leave your car in peace, and dig into a perfectly pink filet mignon. Did we mention it’s free? " - julia chen 1
"If you like your steakhouses to be lightly clown-themed, then there’s just one spot for you in San Francisco, and that spot is Bobo’s. This old-school place takes its name from a Venetian court jester of comedy so you’ll notice masks hanging throughout the dining room. It makes for a quirky setting to enjoy the restaurant’s menu of steak and seafood, specifically Dungeness crab which comes roasted and bathed in a secret sauce. It’s a solid option for a surf and turf dinner and certainly a spot you won’t forget." - Lauren Saria, Eater Staff
"The number of Venetian jester-themed steakhouses in SF is, um, one. But aside from the somewhat-kitschy, somewhat-charming allure of masks on the walls, jesters on the plates, and the life-sized clown doll hanging by the front, the steak and crab at this Marina spot also happens to be pretty good. Once you slide into your cushioned booth, the move is to go in on a ton of sides—the mac and cheese, “bacon slab,” and bread service are highlights—and then pick the beef plate of your choosing. If you’re too distracted tallying jesters to decide (we lost count at 25), go with the filet mignon, which is crisp-edged and tender. " - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez

"Maybe your parents requested steak. Or seafood. Or a 6pm dinner. Maybe they want some steak and crab at 6:30. That’s where Boboquivari’s (a.k.a. Bobo’s) comes in. It’s very old school and it’s very, very good. Extra points for the comfortable leather booths and chairs." - taylor abrams
