Yelp
I have had Boca Argentine Bakery & Pizzeria bookmarked for over a year. Usually it's always parking availability or I'm enroute to another errand that I'd have to pass.
I finally had not one but two opportunities to dine onsite and experience a true culinary delight.
Visit #1 (9/1/23) was with CC, fellow Yelper & IGer. Smart move for us to meet on a weekday right at their 10am opening. Finding street parking and onsite seating not a challenge. A pleasant, relaxing two hour meetup.
Visit #2 (9/9/23) was with The College Friend. She selected this as part of her progressive birthday celebration. Despite just having a filling lunch, there's always room for coffee and baked goods! I had to twirl a bit, but found two hour street parking a block away. No issues finding a table on an early Saturday afternoon.
Overall, for me this was well worth the wait. It lived up to the positive reviews and media write ups. The Broadway stretch on Capitol Hill is always "colorful". However, I am impressed how Boca Argentine Bakery & Pizzeria created such an inviting vibe with great interior decor. The moment you set foot in, you're greeted by an amazing wrap around pastry case. So many sweet and savory baked goods to choose from, plus empanadas, apps/tapas, huge quiche slices, sandwiches, and pizzas. Don't forget the selection of beverages too.
The counter staff have been consistently welcoming, friendly, and willing to answer questions about featured items. There's sidewalk seating and also various indoor seating configurations. Coincidentally, I ended up at the same four top in the back corner.
This is also near the sparkling and regular water taps, the merch wall, the flat screen, counter spot to pick up flatware & napkins, bussing station and an opportunity to sneak a peek at the busy activity in the pastry prep area.
Collectively from both visits:
Beverages:
Dark roast drip provided w/cream ($3), cortado ($3.75), and lagrima ($3) Terrific prices for amazing quality! Other cafes easily charge $5+ for similar coffee beverages.
Pastries/baked goods:
Bolas De Fraille ($5.50), Alfajor ($4.50), Vanilla Churro ($2), Vigilante ($3.50).
I really enjoy the flavor and pastry texture of Vigilante.
CC also had a sandwich available after 1030 prosciutto & cheese heated in a Media Luna de Monteca.
Heated empanadas ($5 each): beef, steak, ham & cheese, spinach & cheese, and lamb. An assortment is also available frozen for takeout. My favorites are the ones with cheese, heavenly when heated!
One can have a nibble or create a full meal with a variety of items or a main menu selection. Perfect for brunch, lunch, snack, or dinner. Dine solo, have a meetup, dine with a group, dine with your family pet - all are welcome!
Seattle is lucky to have Boca (Capitol Hill), Maria Luisa (SoDo), El Mercado Latino (Pike Place Market) and Seatango (Lake City) with their own spins on Argentinean classics.
I look forward to returning to Boca Argentine Bakery & Pizzeria try other pastry case items, a pizza, or both!
Definitely highly recommended!
