The 16 Best Restaurants & Hotels In Saratoga Springs

"This tapas bar is pretty versatile. You could people watch on their Broadway-facing patio, hang out at the bar on a date, or grab one of the cozy tables and gossip with a few friends. There’s a nice wine list that hits a bunch of price points, including sections devoted to Priorat, a region in Catalonia, and Tempranillo. Go heavy on tapas like the stuffed dates, pork belly, ham croquettes, and garlic shrimp, order some meat and cheese platters, and don’t miss the gigantic paella mixta if you need something more filling. Absolutely exceptional restaurant! The food is delicious here! They have tapas and regular meals to choose from, and plenty of great drink options as well. Connor provided great service. The atmosphere is amazing too, with nice decor and music in the background. I recommend trying the Boca Burger. It is one of my favorite burgers of all time! I highly recommend Boca Bistro for a delicious and enjoyable meal.

Stopped for dinner at Boca while passing through Saratoga. My friend and I sat outside near the street and the vibe was relaxing despite the moderate pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The service was friendly and attentive. The oil served with unpitted olives (seemingly traditional) was rather bland and almost bitter. The food came out very quickly, in less than 15 minutes and the presentation of some dishes were beautiful. The food was not as flavorful or refined as we had hoped despite other reviews. Our consensus was that some tapas dishes lacked simple seasoning, while others were unbalanced. Would probably visit other restaurants in the area given another opportunity.

We are visiting Saratoga for a wedding, and made a reservation here. We are thrilled we did. An intimate space with a varied menu, the martinis were terrific. Started with the kale salad and octopus, both delicious. The truffle pasta and shrimp & chorizo polenta were outstanding. We loved our experience here.

Google
Overall this place was absolutely exceptional. I can only give honest opinions on some of the Sunday brunch menu items which is a separate menu from their lunch/dinner offerings. We started with the calamari which was surprisingly tasty, a lot of establishments tend to overcook it or put too much breading, this place did neither. I ordered the BLT and decided to add Serrano ham onto it, it was absolutely delicious, the bread was soft, they did not skimp on the bacon like a lot of other establishments do and the aioli really pulled the flavor together nicely, even the house made chips were very good. My wife had the Boca Benny, it looked great (as shown in the picture) and not a single complaint from her. Our son had the churro waffle, it was presented beautifully and I didn’t hear a peep from him for the remainder of the meal. The service was above and beyond, the hostess sat us immediately and the server was very friendly. I was shocked at how quickly the food made it from kitchen to table, very efficient cooks. The decor is unique and pleasant, kind of a rustic but modern blend not seen elsewhere. My ONLY small suggestion/criticism is that I feel that the bathroom stall door does not extend low enough for my liking in terms of privacy. Obviously this last point is not the restaurant’s fault but just as a heads up, finding street parking can be a bit challenging so be sure to leave yourself some extra time to search. I would highly recommend and will most definitely be returning.

We ducked in for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. Jon V took great care of us while super busy. We both ordered sandwiches which we crushed. Price was great for freshly put together meals. Will certainly consider returning.

Google
Really enjoyed our meal. Tapas were a perfect way to eat on a hot, sunny day. The Serrano Ham Croquettes were unbelievably light and creamy. The bread was the best I've had since moving upstate. The mushrooms with Salsa Verde was my favorite dish. Sean, our waiter was super friendly and knowledgeable. The food came out very quickly. I want to go back!

Google
Maybe it’s because we don’t live here, or aren’t from Saratoga, but the food here wasn’t good at all. We ordered: calamari (looked delicious, but was chewy), the bacon wrapped dates (they totwlly burned), the octopus (was slightly burned and wasnt seasoned enough) and the steak (which was ok but lacked seasoning). Our waitress was very nice though and got us new bacon wrapped dates. But overall, I dont think the food here tastes good, unfortunately.

Google
This was our first time going here and to be honest the only good thing was the service. The food was absolutely so tiny that we actually had to go to a different place to get more food to go home .. we were also given a table in a place that looked like a narrow hallway which was nothing like being in a restaurant. We definitely won’t be returning here

Yelp
A new favorite of mine, from the Tapas menu: Sautéed butterbeans, kale, red onion, garlic, salsa verde. Labelled vegetarian. Very delicious. Was the perfect size to share with my husband; I don't think I would have wanted the whole bowl myself. Servers are SO friendly and helpful. The only negative: hardwood chairs without padding. We can solve this problem by bringing our own cushion when we return.

Yelp
Out with group of friends. Food was terrible. Had two ($60 per order) Piella dishes, both dry and very salty. Two bad clams in seafood Piella. Additional orders snapper and another was mushrooms, both extra salty and dry. Ordered a large sangria, no fruit, no flavor, was like Yago out of the bottle. Really bad dinners, we were embarrassed to bring our guests here. Maybe it was Monday night "B" team? Who knows, we will never go back. There are so many better restaurants in Saratoga

Yelp
we made a last minute reservation. we arrived on time and seated right away the water and menus where brought quickly . christina was very friendly and great server we started with the special appetizer of whipped ricotta and figs with ham. the mushroom soup was light and flavorful the calamari was wonderfully flavored with out too much breading the pork belly with pickled radish and jalapeño was cooked perfectly the creama was similar to crem brûlée and was quite flavorful

Yelp
Every city needs a tapas place like Boca Bistro! You walk in to a space with cozy in the city vibes. The menu has so many delicious items, so it's incredibly difficult to pick! We loved the stuffed dates - you can never go wrong when you wrap something in bacon. But the real standout was the Paella Mixta. The combo of lots of seafood with the chorizo brought all the flavors together. We got two tapas and one paella for four adults, and we were all very full afterwards. Boca Bistro is definitely a spot to remember!

Yelp
A friend chose this spot for dinner. There are lots of options and it being tapas you can share if you wish to. The restaurant itself is very pretty, a good spot if you're looking to impress someone. I had the specialty salad that was not on the menu, the clams, and the fried artichokes. Loved the salad. The clams were cooked ok, but they put some kind of green sauce on top that tasted bitter and threw off the dish in my opinion. Also, it was too salty. I really wanted to try to enjoy that clam broth but the salt wouldn't let me take more than a few spoonfuls. The artichokes were great and even reheated nicely in the air fryer the next day. Had a mocktail that consisted of Limeade, soda water and mashed up mint, at least that's what the menu said but there was only a sprig of mint so really it was like drinking a limeade that was slightly bubbly. Couldn't taste the mint at all. Our server though, I don't remember his name, but he went above and beyond. He really couldn't do more to make our time there more enjoyable. Maybe it was just the things I ordered that weren't remarkable? I wouldn't be against going back if ever I were in the area though.

Yelp
On Saturday 6/29/24 we attended the wonderful Saratoga Jazz Festival. We stayed the night then decided to walk around the center of Saratoga Springs before heading back to Boston. We walked by Boca Bistro and the brunch menu intrigued us so we decided to give it a try. Boca is a beautiful place with great ambience. Service was very good. He shared the specials with us and a few sounded fantastic. I opted to try the special eggs with manchego cheese. Let's just say, I could have licked the plate clean! Totally recommend Boca Bistro...I can't wait to go back!!

Yelp
This place is fantastic because of the food and service. We sat at the bar, and our waiter/bartender, Bernadette, was professional, sweet, and very knowledgeable about wine and food. The Grill chef, Ed, was so accommodating, especially when we asked for a favor. The food is amazing, and so is the atmosphere.
google avatar

Yelp
A popular spot with excellent food. Both of our dishes were delicious. I had the Return of the Mac which had chorizo sausage. My partner had a quinoa bowl, which was also delicious. We didn't have a reservation so we were seated at a high top table that felt like we were in the middle of where people walk. Next time I'll make reservations with hopes of sitting at a regular table and perhaps with less foot traffic around us.

Yelp
Came here with a massive group of about 20 people with a reservation on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated in two different tables in one area of the restaurant. Pretty good Spanish tapas in the Saratoga area, but was difficult to split things with this massive group. Some of the tapas dishes I was able to grab a bite that I would recommend: Cauliflower ($16) Fried Artichokes ($14) Pork Belly ($18) For entree, I split a Paella Mixta ($68) with three others. This consisted of calasparra rice, chicken, Chorizo Bilboa, clams, calamari, mussels, shrimp, scallops, cauliflower, red & green bell peppers, peas, tomato, saffron, and paprika. This was filling enough for the three of us. Rice is moist and overall tasted fantastic.

Yelp
I came for Sunday brunch at about 1 pm and there were only a few people sitting down (more arrived later). We sat in a little nook by the front door. As always, the service here is excellent and our waiter was very attentive. I have to say, I have never been the greatest fan of their dinner but their brunch was excellent. My friend and I split four dishes: the churro waffle, the Madrid waffle, the fries, and a side of bacon. The churro waffle comes with maple syrup and butter and had a lot of cinnamon flavor. The Madrid waffle came with a berry compote and cream. I am a Vermonter and yet I wasn't missing maple syrup with the Madrid waffle. They really piled on the berries and cream so each bite of the waffle could have both components layered on top. The seasoned fries were very well seasoned and crisp. The bacon was the melt-in-your-mouth consistency that good bacon should be and was still crispy. Additionally, our brunch was actually pretty cost-effective; not what I've come to expect from Saratoga food. This is a great option for a Sunday brunch and I will definitely be coming here again in the near future.

Yelp
What a terrific waiter on parents weekend at Skidmore College And the food was really good Leave room for the Churros!

Yelp
Lovely spot in Saratoga that accommodated our large group for my friend's birthday so nicely! Loves: + Good selection of brunch food (probs love the croquettes, breakfast sando, valencia waffle, and grain bowls the best) + Reasonably priced as most options are $11-16 + Good service + Reservations available (highly recommend for groups!) We had a good time and I would recommend this spot to others. Thank you, Boca Bistro for the good vibes!

Yelp
Burnt hamburger and bun with burnt onions on top and cold chips. Server had bizarre, loud persona, and forgot to read specials. Appetizers delivered at same time as entrees. Slow to receive check. Stomach upset. Will not return.

Yelp
Went for lunch here this past Saturday, which was Belmont Stakes event at Saratoga Racetrack. I thought it would be hard to make a reservation and crowded but 1pm res no problem. Not crowded at all. Atmosphere was warm and cozy and very inviting. Food was very good. We shared an app of tomatoes and cheese on focaccia and then I had a burger which was so tasty with that delicious grill flavor. It was really a nice time and waitstaff very attentive and friendly. Fun drink selection too!

Yelp
Found on a few lists for our weekend getaway to Saratoga, we should have thought a bit harder about what quality Spanish food we would find in Saratoga. I wish I could say the wait staff made up for the subpar food, but when asked what was a recommended dish our server responded with, "well the tapas are popular, the large plates are good, and yeah the paella...." Cool, thanks. Really appreciate you listing out the groups of food available on your menu. Very insightful recommendations. But perhaps it wasn't a lack of knowledge on the food, but rather knowing full well that the best thing they serve is the extra virgin olive oil the olives came in, not the oil served on the table. We tried the kale salad, sweet potato quinoa cakes, octopus, and chicken plate. The kale salad looked promising, but somehow lacked flavor even though the dressing was creamy. The sweet potato cakes could have used more avocado crema, because it would add to the flavor profile of an otherwise dull dish, the octopus was burned, served without lemon and had hummus on the side. And lastly, the chicken may have been our fault as we didn't realize it was fried chicken, aka chicken Milanese. I've been to Spain a few times and have never seen fried chicken outside of a McDonald's, so not sure where the Spanish style came from on that one. I know we're not in the city, but anyplace where I'm paying for my food should know how to season to taste and serve at least one remotely decent good dish. I'd skip it unless your a glutton for punishment.
google avatar

Mary L.

Yelp
The food here is amazing! It's a must! The octopus was one of the best I ever had mussels little neck outstanding!

Yelp
My wife and I ordered from the Tapas ( small plate menu). Garlic shrimp, pan fried Brussel Sprouts , potatoes with a fried egg. Everything was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing. Our waitress was so nice. The ambiance was very cozy and relaxed. I highly recommend Boca Bistro.
google avatar

Yelp
Went for happy hour the other night. The inside of the restaurant is much nicer than the outside. The food portions were pretty small even for happy hour. Service was ok but only one server for many tables so it took awhile.
google avatar

Kristen S.

Yelp
Please Yelp can you please give us half stars already?? 3.5- Loved the atmosphere. Service slow but very very pleasant. Loved the red sangria. We ordered the pork belly, asparagus and quinoa cakes. Quinoa cakes were the star. The pork belly was so so very dry and under seasoned. The asparagus was so good but please please cut off the stalky ends. A table near us loved everything and another had a few issues.

Robert H.

Yelp
The service was exceptional. Great ambiance and the food was uniquely fabulous. Be careful of the mussels...extra spicy. We will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Chick Pea Curry Soup. Wha??? Great. And all the craft beer. Oh and a Mediterranean Grain Bowl. Maybe I'll be back while here for a few days. Service is like the soup;)

Yelp
We love the bistro even though we're still not eating in. We got take out tapas for our anniversary and it was sooo good. There are a lot of good restaurants in Saratoga Springs but this has been our favorite for years.
google avatar

Barbara C.

Yelp
My second time at Boca Bistro and the service was once again outstanding. It located on Broadway in Downtown Saratoga Springs! I started with a Pineapple Passionfruit mule which is made of Grey Goose Vodka, Passion Fruit Liqueur, Pineapple Juice, Lime Juice, Ginger Beer. It wasn't what I expected but was good.

Amy R.

Yelp
Boca Bistro was so very disappointing last night. Waited at the bar for our friends. It was not busy when I arrived but I had to wait over 10 minutes to order a drink. Bartender was dismissive and rude. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. Ordered and received apps on time. We had asparagus, calamari, and shishitos. These were good. Ordered the paella to share for the meal. It was overcooked, dry, and inedible. I can't even imagine why they served it. They better get their act together before racing season. It was so loud in the back room that we had to shout to carry on a conversation. This used to be a good, consistent restaurant. No longer.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Wonderful 20th anniversary dinner. They did a holiday special for Christmas. We got a $50 gift card for my Dad and his wife and got a$25 gift card for ourselves to use in January. As all locals know, Saratoga is awesome in the off the season. The Embassy Hilton has great room prices and a complimentary happy hour. Two free drinks and snacks. Boca Bistro has tasty cocktails and traditional tapas to share. We had stuffed dates, pork loin with pistachio sauce, and serrano ham croquettes.

RG K.

Yelp
Very nice Tapas bar in the heart of Saratoga Springs. Great wines & micro Brews. Very good service & the food is very good.
google avatar

Samalid H.

Yelp
We have visited Saratoga Spring twice and keep coming back to this restaurant. Small tapas portions. Perfect for lunch and for sharing. Nice atmosphere. Would recommend for families with older children.
google avatar

Jeffrey C.

Yelp
You have to stop here if you enjoy small plates, the mussels are to die for. Are server was great and the food came out of the kitchen piping hot. The ambiance was a little dark but cute with the Edison lights, kind of looked like a European version of a wine cellar
google avatar

June X.

Yelp
We made a reservation for 6:30PM on a Saturday, and our table was ready 10 minutes early which was nice. We started with a white sangria and Old Fashioned; the sangria came in a very round wineglass that I thought was whimsical and cute. For starters we got the sautéed mushrooms and octopus. The mushrooms were delicious, with a sour, slightly tangy green sauce on top and ample broth at the bottom that went great with the complimentary bread - 4.5/5. The octopus was over-cooked and tough, and for only two small pieces for $17, over-priced. 2/5 For the main we got the mixed paella; it was a generous serving and delicious; would order again. Overall service was good, food and drinks were yummy (other than the octopus), and we would come back!

Yelp
Chose BB for seating options, menu variety & laid back atmosphere. Was fortunate to get a street patio seat to people watch & to enjoy the shade (until early afternoon). My server started off pretentious...but SLOWLY warmed up. Food wasn't overstated, and not overly proportioned; just enough. Prices were reasonable, as well as wine selection. Understated, yet over performed it's peers. Fyi, the owners of BB also own Chianti & Forno.
google avatar

Joe W.

Yelp
This is a great little restaurant that we selected because of the many vegetarian options on the menu. All of the food was tasty and the service was good and friendly. Would have given five stars but Brussels sprouts were slightly over seasoned and the paella could have used a few minutes on the burner on high to create the socarrat that is the hallmark of good paella.

Anna B.

Yelp
Don't like to write negative reviews, but I feel like I owe it to everyone that uses these ratings to choose where to go. Service was very mediocre-one of those places where you are trying to flag your server or anyone to try to get basics-sort of the opposite of what you want-i.e. stressy. I ordered a sangria and it took so long that my husband went to the bar to get one and I had it half gone by the time the server brought the one I ordered and no it wasn't over busy. Food was meh. Atmosphere was cute and interesting. Everyone that had water had something floating in it-so kinda yucky.

M K.

Yelp
Came for lunch. The Spanish tapas platter with meat and cheeses were amazing, as well as the chicken ands Serrano ham sandwich. Great selection of wines. Service was great. Would definitely recommend. Great decor.
google avatar

Linda C.

Yelp
Got to Saratoga early for a concert and was hungry for a burger. Arrived to Boca around 1 and decided to sit at the bar. There was plenty of seating available and we ordered the Boca burger to split. Our bartender/waitress was attentive and made our drinks quickly. I had a glass of wine and my bf had a bourbon coke. Our burger came, we decided to scrape the sweet salsa and go with the ketchup. My half was a lil too toasty, but the bacon and egg on top was yummy. The fried potatoes were topped with a cheese sauce. At 2pm the lunch menu comes out and we went with the clams. The clams themselves were good, but the pesto on top of the clams made them look like they were taken out of a murky, green lake. The broth was worthy of bread to soak in and all the fresh peas were eliminated. Lol Good experience and food. Enjoy!
google avatar

Wendy K.

Yelp
After a busy day at the race track we needed something in air conditioning and light. We found Boca and couldn't have been more pleased with the wonderful service and delicious meal. We made reservations and ended up sitting at the bar due to where they wanted to seat us. Basically it was in a high traffic area and I didn't want people constantly walking around us. The service by one of the bartenders was great and she knew the menu. After some discussion we settled on our yummy choices and we even have leftovers for tomorrow. I highly recommend this dining experience.
google avatar

Dee C.

Yelp
2 stars for the service. Our waiter was amazing. Food? Downright awful. Starting with the bread- followed by the 5 well done shrimp in our shrimp and garlic. Any more over cooked and I could have blown it out my mouth like dry saltines. Pork belly? Meh Deviled eggs? Even worse. Ricotta dessert? Don't bother
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
The atmosphere is nice and the prices are reasonable. The kale salad and grain bowls tasted super fresh. The waiter was very accommodating when my sister received unripe avocado in her salad. I think the restaurant can better utilize all the tables to keep the wait time down, but overall, I definitely recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
The Paella Mixta was burnt. For $68 it ought to be delivered properly. It was still edible. The service was delightful. We sat at the bar. Kelly was amazing. Very nice atmosphere. When we walked in both people who greeted us were very kind.
google avatar

Sammi L.

Yelp
My friend and I had the BLT for lunch. This was the BEST BLT I have ever eaten! The bread was soft with a light crust, lots of thick bacon , some melted cheese ( a nice touch) and yummy mayo. Our waiter Tom was Exceptional. Attentive without being intrusive, friendly, with some entertaining humor!
google avatar

Franco R.

Yelp
Food was delicious everything we ordered was great , very hot and flavorful. We got the mixed paella to share .that was our least favorite everything else was amazing though the mac and cheese and the pasta fideo was a 10/10 out service wasn't so good . We looked at the check we had server 210 and he never asked us how our food was, rarely visited and the place wasn't too busy , and also forgot our bread .. The food did take a while but as a waiter you should let your customers know that it's taking a bit longer then expected which wasn't told to us . We came in at 7:30 and didn't get our appetizers until 8:30 .
google avatar

Ron C.

Yelp
This place is fun! Nice menu selection, lively and pleasant staff, comfortable interior and delicious food! Lots of things to love with this place. What a great place to meet friends and make some memories.... I especially enjoyed the croquettes which were amazing. The meat and cheese tray could use a little rethinking, but has a nice selection of options, albeit with little organization or composition, this was the only disappointment in the meal, everything else was great!
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service! Would return in the future. We ordered the mushrooms, pork belly, and mussels with some wine. The mussels and mushrooms were great. The pork belly had the most perfect pork belly texture but it was unfortunately bland. Our waitress recommended the ricotta cheesecake for dessert which is a must - it was so so good. Wish I took a photo of the dessert but we devoured it quickly! It seems from other reviews that the menu has changed recently to incorporate more large plates and less small plates. I have nothing to compare my visit to since it was my first time, but I would've loved to see more variety or additional items on the tapas menu.

Yelp
Enjoyed a peaceful dinner Sunday night and found the entire experience quite good. Not the largest place on Broadway but a good place to try some different food. The server Aaron was fun. He was pleasant to interact with, made some nice suggestions, and came back on a nice frequency to check on things. Started the dinner with bread and olives... good start. Paired that with some Colonel Taylor bourbon. They offer a nice selection of bourbon drinks. For dinner it was the goat cheese salad and Moorish paella. The salad was terrific. The bib lettuce, toasted pine nuts, roasted shallot, black mission fig, bruleed goat cheese, and quince vinaigrette were fab. The paella was more than one person could eat thus we split it. And still brought some out the door with us! Warning, the cilantro is a tad on the spicy side so be warned before you put too much o er your food... unless of course that's what you're after. The paella had butternut squash, cauliflower, carrots, and onions with toasted almonds, cranberries, and more. Quite the palate explosion.

Yelp
WOW What A Wonderful Restaurant! Some of the Best Food In Saratoga Springs! And The Service Was OUTSTANDING! A Small Basket of sliced crispy bread is served ( oil & vinegar) on the table along with a small dish of Delicious Olives We Enjoyed Multiple items off the Tapas menu Looking Forward To Returning!

L S.

Yelp
The place was hopping for a Thursday night. order a few tapas plates everyone was delicious, The service was spot on. No rushing you out the door.
google avatar

Ayusha R.

Yelp
The food is so terrible, I can not even begin to explain it. The paella mixta reeked of olive oil- which isn't necessarily always a bad thing, but it tasted awful. It was extremely oily and tasted absolutely awful. The oil overpowered all other flavor. The spices had also burned around the top of some of the food- which tasted like the packeted taco seasoning you can get at a grocery store. Also got Ham Croquettes and Stuffed dates. The presentation was abysmal for the stuffed dates and had left oil marks all over the plate when it got to us. Ham croquettes was the only thing acceptable and even that was very bland. The sharing plates that were on the table when we got seated also looked somewhat dirty. Overall, a terrible experience with food that tasted borderline disgusting. I really regret having spent my money and if you give this place a try, so will you.
google avatar

Kane B.

Yelp
My general rule is I don't go anywhere less than 4.5 stars when it's a higher price menu. Made an exception here bc nothing else available. I hade the chicken paella. Average food. Above average price. I find that the difference between 4.5 stars and 4 on yelp is really significant. This place is an example of that difference.
google avatar

Rachel W.

Yelp
Would not return for brunch. The waiter was friendly, but the service was extremely slow. Nothing was special about the food, and nothing I would want to return for. All of it was nearly cold when it got to the table. Definitely better brunch spots in the area.

Yelp
Stopped into Boca Bistro on Saturday night, with a party of 5. From location, to atmosphere, service and food- it was a great time! The menu is a little pricey but it's to be expected in Saratoga Springs. Most of the main dishes do not come with a side, so you will have to purchase your sides separately. Get the "Return of the Mac" Mac n cheese! You won't regret it. It was delicious and the portion was huge. I was able to get two meals out of the skillet. We also ordered a side of shishito peppers to go with our entrees and they were amazing! I have to mention the service... it was excellent. Our server was attentive, informative and very well spoken! Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely go back.
