"The neighborhood is full of coffee bars and French bistros, but why not go for a coffee at this Vietnamese cafe? The menu is top-notch, too, including some engaging breakfast and luncheon fare, running to a breakfast banh mi, eggs Benedict with a steamed bao instead of English muffin, avocado toast, and a fundamental crisp baguette with good butter." - Robert Sietsema, Melissa McCart

Yelp
They're actually open, not closed! Good for a cold night, the outdoor seating is a nice touch. The pho should have had tripe but still very good. Drinks are amazing too.

Yelp
The food was very yummy and it's a great place for Sunday brunch. Warning it took an hour for us to get our food (they were severely understaffed). It was good but not worth waiting that long. The ambiance of the restaurant was very cozy and the staff was friendly considering how understaffed they were!

Yelp
We came here after a slime-filled day of fun in the area. We had no idea where to eat but stumbled upon this spot and since we all love Vietnamese, we decided to give them a go. There was no wait. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Wherever you choose to sit, it's IG worthy, cute and comfy. Our server was very attentive. We did not have to wait long for anything despite it being moderately busy. I had the Mezcal Mirage drink which was very good. Hubby had their Vietnam espresso martini, also good, and the kiddie had their pink drink, which is watermelon juice with mint, as well as their ginger lemonade (we were sure which she would like so we got both and she liked both). We started with shrimp summer rolls, which were cut into two each. They were good but I wish the greens were fresher. There was luttuce that had brown spots. I had their classics beef pho. It was really good but the broth was a little saltier than I would have liked. I also expected way more protein for almost $20. Hubby had their beef bahn mi and it tasted really good. It comes with taro chips and a dipping sauce that are TO DIE for. I probably ate half his chips. Our Little had their Kinder chocolate pancakes and she loved them. Their soufflé pancakes with tons of chocolate sauce, kinder candy, strawberry and banana slices, and whipped cream. She could only eat half of it but she was in heaven. If in the area, I would maybe come back. The prices are kind of high compared to other places I've visited and the menu was very limited but that might just be their brunch menu.

Yelp
I was disappointed with my dining experience. For starters, if you order a Vietnamese coffee, either hot or cold, it's $10 for that cup. That's an exorbitant price to charge to the point of being ludicrous. Nearby in Chinatown you can get the very same quality coffee for $4-5. However, the part that upset me was that they do not know how to prepare a proper Eggs Benedict dish. The eggs were too hard boiled, whereas they should be oozing when you dig your fork into them. And you could barely taste the hollandaise sauce.

Yelp
We didn't have a reservation and walked right in for a quick lunch. The food was so refreshing - I loved the bowl!I It had that Vietnamese flavor loaded up with all the healthy vegetables. Super quick and affordable. I'd recommend this spot if you were in the soho area shopping for a quick meal.

Yelp
Quick recap: -          Food: Average -          Portion size: Average -          Service: Table service -          Environment: Hipster Vietnamese restaurant + outdoor seating -          $: High -          Perks: The outdoors patio Overall? Disappointing. You would be expecting some extremely solid quality for a $19 beef pho...It was not the case and the service could not have been slower. More details: We went there for dinner. We started with a Vache Qui Rit - Crispy Springroll ($10) and a Chicken Nicoise Fresh Summer Roll ($12). The starters were good. I probably would recommend the crispy springroll, for the chicken one, it is not your typical chicken springroll. It has tuna cream in it, which is the "Nicoise" version of it. We followed with the Veggies Tofu Pho ($17), so gross. This is as far as a veggie pho as it can get. This is pretty much a turnip and cauliflower soup. It smells bad. It tastes bad. You do not want to go there. The Black Pepper Beef one ($20) was good. We then waited for 30min for a waiter to come our way, but nobody came (we were sitting outside, on the patio). We had to go in to request the check and pay. Would not repeat the experience.

Yelp
Walked in at 3pm, which to my dismay was still brunch with limited menu options. We opted for tarro fries which came with a yummy mayo dip and shishito peppers (under seasoned and kind of blah) for starters. The bestie had the almond matcha pancakes which were both beautiful and delicious (I was as green as they were). I had the black lemonade (tasted yellow) and the crispy chicken banh mi with a salad substitute. My sandwich which was an atypical choice for me, was quite boring and lacked any interesting flavor besides the spiciness of the jalapeño, should have went with the beef or chicken satay. Now the ambience is 5 stars easy. Very comfy and cute, interesting decor and photos on the walls, all of your favorite french jazz hits serenading you in the background for this reason I will give them another try and definitely for dinner.

Yelp
Great Vietnamese brunch spot! I ordered the Bo Bun with Beef and Lemongrass, which was very tasty. The beef was tender and had a nice savory sauce. The veggies tasted fresh, and the noodles were a pleasant, slightly chewy consistency. I also tried the Bo Bun with Spicy Fried Chicken, which was equally as tasty- the chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. In addition, I got a Red Power Smoothie, which tasted naturally delicious without additional sugar. I could clearly taste the banana, dragonfruit, and coconut water all in there. For dessert, I got the Famous Chocolate Mousse- again, very tasty, as the consistency was like a light and fluffy cream with a slight avocado flavor. The prices are alright, as the Bo Bun was $19, the smoothie was $10, and the mousse was $9. The interior space is quite crowded, and it gets very busy during peak brunch hours. It is bright with natural light, and this is emphasized by the long wall of mirrors on one side. There are also some unique photographs for decor on the opposite wall. The service quality is mixed, as they waited for a long time after we ordered to tell us that they were out of one of our orders. Then, our waiter said that he would bring us an extra straw, which he never did. However, after our first two initial dessert orders were also out of stock, the manager eventually gave us our dessert on the house to make up for it. And generally, the staff are very friendly. Overall, BoCaphe has very high quality Vietnamese (and supposedly French-inspired) foods. Apart from being a bit crowded and having some occasional service-related issues, BoCaphe is a great option if you are looking for a non-American brunch spot in the Soho area.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday afternoon when the weather was nice (kinda rare for March). I arrived at 2.30 pm ish. Outdoor seating looked nice, so sat there. Service was a bit slow, but its alright (nice weather, try to not complain and just enjoying the day). Ordered Classic Pho and spring roll appetizer. Pho was really good, but no beansprouts. Server said they didnt have it that day. What? Beansprouts is the must-item for pho! Cheese spring roll. NOPE. Skin was to chewy, not enjoyable. SERVICE. Lady was nice, but she didnt give us chopsticks nor napkin. We had to ask for it. Oh cmon man, that's a basic thing for meal service.

Yelp
I came with a group of five on a Saturday night for a girls dinner. We ordered 2 orders of taro fries, 2 orders of the shrimp summer roll, chicken ginger bo bun, pad thai lan, and beef lemongrass rice bowl to share family style. I would say the food was certainly underwhelming in flavor and pricey for the portion size (entrees are $20-23 each). Favorite dish was the taro fries with aioli and my least favorite was the pad thai (noodles were undercooked to the point of being almost inedible). The restaurant is quite the scene though, as seen by the pink fluorescent lighting in the photos. We were packed like sardines in a picnic table, where I practically touched the backs of our neighboring diners when I tried to get in and out to use the restroom. Overall, it seemed like a trendy fusion Vietnamese-French restaurant more intended for cocktails than food.

Dipali G.

Yelp
Not a fan of this place, not flavorful, tight space, and didn't check vaccinations. Food: we ordered the chicken spring rolls, shishito peppers, crispy chicken rice bowl, and chicken satay bun. The chicken bun was my favorite, Bc it actually had flavor. Everything else was very bland! You needed to dunk things in sauces for it to taste good. Price: pretty pricy for the amount of food! I didn't think the spring rolls or the bun should be $8, that was kind of ridiculous. Service: I thought they were too quick and not attentive enough. Ambience: such a tight space. They gave us a small table in a very uncomfortable spot Covid safety: for indoor - they did not check vaccination records

Yelp
Going out Soho on Thursday night. The restaurant We were supposed to go was packed and had to wait 40 min, even if we get there, we wanted to avoid many crowd. therefore me and my friend change our plan to find another restaurant for dinner. Most of restaurant I listed was same situation, long wait list and packed table... We already felt like Asian food, then we found the place where is not so crowded Asian restaurant! When I usually " Jack's wife .."at the right next door, I was interested in this place as cute Vietnamese restaurant. At that time, the next door was so packed as usual, but this place has only one group outside, inside was dark.. So we had outside table cause safe and quiet I thought.. Usually, Asian restaurant bring food fast, but here takes bit longer... While we were waiting, we heard that other customer complained some food that we already ordered.. we became worried and We canceled one dish and see what's happen. But my friend already felt down cause they left the glasses for the water on the table outside. She asked them change the glasses in the beginning.. She also passed by inside restart to bathroom and saw no one customer there nor vibrant vibes. Food served Pho first, then salad after, besides the pho wasn't not hot, not flavored soup but greasy and salty.. Especially papaya salad has no flavor, not much taste at all.. just chopped veggies. We guess they don't know Asian food? Even don't learn ?? Completely not authentic but not fusion Asian either.. My friend was kind of upset and I felt sorry since I picked this place:( I don't know, I saw people here sometime, so we had to order bam mi or something else? Were we just unlucky? But I saw the pictures as popular menu on yelp,,, My friend is bit selective, I'm usually easy going but if my friend feeling bad, The dinner time is unhappy mood.... I wanna put one star, but the one star added for server guy. He was ok, friendly and kind. we were sorry to cancel a dish after we ordered already ... it wasn't his fault..

Yelp
BoCaphe offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes, however I think the menu is quite limited. Only chicken or beef banh mi and only a couple of pho choices. The day we went there it was also quite hot in the city and we sat outside which was probably not a good decision on our part because it was pretty uncomfortable and may have inadvertently impacted our experience. The food was OK nothing special and I don't see a compelling reason to return.

Araya M.

Yelp
The presentation is a 4 star. But they didn't executed well. The service was ok no one come in to say hi to seat us. After we seat down , took like 15 mins for someone to say hi. Vietnamist coffee is a no no, if you expected strong tasty coffee they are not . Papaya salad was no flavor. The $17 classic Pho come with just beef , no tendon No Omosa. You can walk 10 mins to Chinatown and have $9.5 Pho with bigger portion abs tastier . We were really disappointed, I was surprised they are very busy . I would not recommend for any of my friends to stop and try.

Jenny C.

Yelp
The waitress was really sweet and nice. The outdoor seating spot was cute and quaint. Unfortunately the food fell a little flat for us. My pho was too salty. And the tuna avocado crispy rice was not what we were expecting. The crispy rice is more like a fried sticky rice patty which was a little dense for you liking- the tuna and avocado mixture was delicious though.

Naeel C.

Yelp
Really fun brunch spot with some interesting Vietnamese breakfast options. I had the bao Benedict, which was a fun twist on the usual eggs Benedict. Egg texture was great and the sauce was nice. Potatoes were crispy, and the papaya salad was much better than anticipated. Matcha pancakes were fluffy and not overly dry. Others at the table tried the salmon bowl, matcha pancakes, and Vietnamese coffee. Overall great dishes, but a little on the pricey side for traditional Vietnamese coffee.

Lerrel P.

Yelp
Beautiful ambience and homey vibe. Staff were kind and accommodating. We got some summer rolls, chicken bo pun, and an omlette. Omlette was wonderful. But the rest was a little underwhelming. I found the chicken to be a little too dry and the Summer rolls a little under par with flavors. Everything was fresh. But due to underwhelming flavors I am giving it 3/5.

Jasmine N.

Yelp
I had the bao Benedict, 10/10 that was delicious. Great portion, fresh, and tasted wonderful. I would love to return to this cafe, but I docked 2 stars because 1. The service is a little uncomfortably slow 2. My partner ordered noodles which were good, but the noodles felt really undercooked I will give this place another chance because it seemed really lovely, maybe the time we went was just an off day.

Yelp
This was arguably the worst dining experience that I have ever had, along with being the most stressful. Highly do not recommend ever eating at BoCaphe! Reservation process: To start, making reservations through opentable was very easy and I had a few more people join so I called in the week before to confirm that they could host a few more people, which they said no problem! At this point, I figured that I'm good and the interior photos for the location at soho seemed big so I was excited to plan this for my girlfriends birthday. Day of the reservation: I got there within the 15 min window of our reservation and the server Connor was nice but the space was not as big as I thought. The space was much smaller and it was a tight squeeze to accommodate 13 of us in 1 table. Food ordering: I should have expected this to be messy considering the seating situation was rough. This is where the night took a turn and went downhill really fast. We ordered food and drinks for our table. Half of our group got their food, the other half didn't. The half that didn't get their food sat waiting over 2 hours before their food actually came out. During this time, our group constantly asked what is going on and where is our food? No apologies, manager wasn't present and overall didn't care about our experience. Other tables got their food and left before the other half of our party received their food. At this point, I was very frustrated and it was unacceptable for them to be inattentive to our group and while still bringing our food for other parties. Taste: This is the worst Vietnamese food that I've ever had in my life. The food was very bland and there was absolutely no flavor at all! We ordered Luc Lac, salmon Bao Bun, crispy chicken bo bun (noodles), summer rolls, crepe, etc Luc Lac: 0/10 oily, no seasoning, literally no flavor and they provided rice that was burnt hard and old rice Salmon bun: 3/10 fluffy bun, dry salmon and very minimal seasoning on this sandwich. Had to drench in sriracha to make this dish edible Crispy Chicken Bo Bun: 5/10 noodles were well cooked, chicken was over cooked and not flavorful, literally nuoc mam (fish sauce) saved the day for this dish otherwise it was flavorless Summer rolls: 5/10 nothing fancy but if you screw this app up, you cannot be a Vietnamese restaurant in my opinion Crepe: 1/10 literally all bean sprouts with 4 small pieces of shrimp for $14 Service: Manager was very unhelpful after the whole ordeal. We had a conversation with her to see what accommodations could be made to make up for this very poor dining experience for a birthday dinner. She immediately got defensive without apologizing first. She tried to say that our party was larger than the initial reservation but I called in a week prior to confirm that they would be fine serving a larger group. Then she proceeds to offer to take off the mandatory 20% tip, which annoyed us even more because why is the service staff being docked for this instead of the restaurant taking ownership of the situation and taking a percentage off of the bill instead. We didn't accept that offer because we would tip the staff anyways and did not feel that the full blame should be on them. Overall: I genuinely do not love writing bad reviews but I had one of the worst dining experiences ever from a food and service perspective. I will never be dining here again nor would I recommend this place to anybody as well. Rating: 0/5 if I could give a score worse than 1/5

Jess Z.

Yelp
Not sure what the actual restaurant looks like or the vibes, but ordered from here on Ubereats with a friend and was pleasantly surprised! We ordered their beef bulgulgi vermicelli bowl and loved it. I liked that there was a good balance of veggies, meat and the noodles. I would order from here again!

Kadeesha L.

Yelp
Friendly, fun, causal Vietnamese food with good prices especially for the area! Wandered in here after a long day of shopping and was seated immediately. I love how the menu has fresh press juices, health shots, & hot tea. Really feels like the energy you need. The menu is quite large and has all the faves like pho, rice noodle bowls, & baos. The steak bao was my favorite! Theres also quite a few veggie options as well. Most meals have the option of picking your protein which I really appreciated as well. Some choices include fried chicken cutlet, salmon, & steak. I would definitely recommend if your in the area, as it is one of the better options in the area for delicious easy food!

Varshaya V.

Yelp
This place is so cute! We ordered: (1) taro fries to share. These were delicious and crisped to perfection. (2) papaya salad. This tasted fresh but wasn't seasoned well. (3) vegan pho - truly so delicious. The veggies were perfectly cooked, with a slight crunchy bite. The broth was extremely flavorful. Service was pretty good though a bit slow. This is a nice place to go when you want to spend quality time with the people you're with.

Shreya B.

Yelp
I came here last night for a team dinner and we quickly received a table outside (around 8:30 pm on a Thursday). The menu had so many vegetarian options which I loved to see. I ordered the pad Thai which was very delicious - lots of veggies and a good savory flavor, not sweet like usual pad Thai I've had. The team also enjoyed the drinks they had and overall had a great ambience. Service was on the slow side so come if you want a leisurely meal. Overall a good vibe and food was solid.

Marines M.

Yelp
Glad I made it to this quaint, little restaurant and didn't let me myself get dissuaded because it was empty at the time I walked by ... which was a totally odd hour during the day (500 pm on a Sunday of a holiday weekend). The place is not fancy, but it's absolutely adorable, with some very cute decoration, and a good combo of shared picnic tables with individual tables for parties of 2 or 4. The chairs are all metal and the shared tables wooden, so they're not the most comfortable, but the restaurant has made sure to have little cushions in every single table ... even in the seats that look out the window into the street (which is absolutely loved and are going to be my spot next time I come). Finally to add to the charm of the place, they had French music playing just giving it more of that "Indochine" vibe. Ambiance is really well thought out!!! Now on to the food ... everything we had was absolutely great, but the Pho Noodle Soup. We had the classic and OMG did it hit the spot. It was such a delicate flavor, but so full of it, it was amazing. Also, had the Caramelized Beef Bao Bun and the Salmon and Avocado Bo Bun and both are worth repeating. I think my only regret was to have the Bo Bun salad which was cold instead of having a hot soup and that is totally on me for not making the right decision, but the salad would be perfect for a summer day because it's incredibly refreshing and has the most amazing salad dressing. I definitely have to go back to try out some of their specialty dishes as we didn't get that far in a single sitting :) Finally, the service just tops of the whole experience. They;re very laid back so it's very familiar service. That said, they're always on top of customers that may need something. All-in-all .... Great restaurant to visit!

Kristen C.

Yelp
This is a great spot for Asian fusion. The menu has a decent amount of options for different protein preferences. I got a Vietnamese coffee and the presentation of it is cool since they let you brew it yourself at your table

Tuan Anh H.

Yelp
The food is so slow. We seated and waited for 30 minutes for the Vietnamese Crepe and it's not even ready yet. Not even on a busy day (it's Thusday lunch with just a few other tables). If the food is talking a long time to prepare (I don't think the crepe is!), please tell us in advance when ordering instead of letting us know 30 minutes after that it's not ready yet. We also ordered the Classic Pho and Egg Bahn Mi. I think they wasted so much time on the crepe and haven't even prepared these when we asked for. Wasted like 45 minutes here for nothing. Lost our appetite. Maybe we're just unlucky, but definitely not recommended.

Cindy K.

Yelp
Please note that this review is for PRE-COVID. Honestly, the food here is just mediocre. The entire space is SO CROWDED, not sure how it'll work during COVID or after COVID. We got phos, vegan chocolate pancakes, and taro fries. The phos don't taste authentic and the taro fries were meh. The only good thing though, is their vegan chocolate pancakes. Very delicious! Highly suggest getting that if you are coming here for brunch, but... then what's the point of coming to a viet/french restaurant? Haha. 4/10 would come back again.

Angel R.

Yelp
Yuuuum . Vegan Pho is on the menu and it's delicious ! We headed to this soho spot for some Delicious food while visiting NYC to drop My daughter at college . The vegan rice and tofu bowl was amazing ! Great outdoor heated seating , great for people watching and so many vegetarian and vegan items in the menu !

Valentina N.

Yelp
For not being an adventurous eater and having never tried Vietnamese food I was no doubt pleasantly surprised with this spot. On a freezing day this was the perfect pick me up for my friend and I. They sat us right away and while the food take a while to come, service was consistent and just right. Once the food came you could tell it was quality fresh ingredients. I ordered the Bo Bun bowl of salmon and avocado and while the salmon was a generous portion the avocado and noodles were not but I still think overall it was worth it. I wish the regular drink options were a little more varied or not as pricey, regular tea $9... and for being wintertime it wasn't as warm inside as we were yearning for but all in all it was a great place to discover and would without a doubt return!

Patricia P.

Yelp
I got the regular (beef) pho and a lychee martini. The noodles and broth were delicious, however, the beef was kind of tough and I didn't enjoy it at all. I wouldn't get the beef pho again for this reason. The lychee martini was super delicious and came with a purple flower and an actual lychee that was lanced by the straw. I liked that the included lychee was really yummy and not bitter/sour like they sometimes are. I would get this again, and our table kept ordering them. My friend got 4 during the course of dinner, and others were also a fan of the lychee martini.

Deserae D.

Yelp
Lychee Martini is okay, wouldn't suggest it there's better. I had the marinated steak which was really good but the portion of it was not worth the price so maybe just to stick the pho! Sake is also a little overpriced but the service was quick! We were seated and served very quickly

Michelle L.

Yelp
Loved the aesthetic of this place but the food was just kind of disappointing. Salmon & Avocado Vermicelli ~ this one was pretty good, but it was basically a poké bowl lol. The spring roll was kind of dry/stale Ban Xeo ~ this was good too Pho ~ broth was heavy w the cinnamon flavor, which I personally didn't mind. But the noodles were soggy and it was such a small portion for the price. There was also only one piece of meat Everything was just alright. I would go stick with their breakfast/brunch options and pass on their viet food.

Ruby D.

Yelp
I went with a large group of friends and unfortunately a good amount of us were disappointed in the food. I ordered the classic pho with chicken dumplings and the server must have misheard and ended up bringing out chicken pho with chicken dumplings. I managed to switch my pho with my friend's, so I did get to eat the classic pho anyway (but it wasn't great). The appetizers were alright and I did enjoy the grilled octopus more than the other appetizers. A plus was that they provided complimentary dessert to celebrate my friend's birthday. Also, they included gratuity in the check (probably because of the size of the group), so remember to look at your checks carefully to avoid tipping twice!

J. Lawrence N.

Yelp
This place is pretty on the outside, but overall it was average at best. Nothing terribly wrong, but nothing terribly great. It's also one of those few time that my husband and I don't agree. He enjoyed this place more. That said, I ordered the zucchini noodles with chicken. First of all, who serves dark meat chicken these days, or at least does so without putting it on the menu. Gross. But even the summer roll, something that's such a Vietnamese staple and so hard to get wrong, they did. It was kinda icky. Not a whole lot of flavor, a tiny shrimp and it was more carrots and unappealing things that don't belong in a good summer roll. The service was good. So they get that. Not sure if I think they're 100% on the COVID caring. Tables were right on top of each other. No social distancing, and on a Saturday night, it's like really crammed in there, uncomfortably so. And when tables left in was pretty much a one squirt, wipe and move on. With so many amazing Vietnamese restaurants in Manhattan this is one I'm not likely to revisit. PS, what restaurant of any credibility makes you download an app from another company in order to see their menu to order. Most places simply use the QR code to go to their menu only. But starting the meal off with this was just really poorly thought out.

Abby S.

Yelp
The outdoor seating of the place is really cute and it's located in a great rest area of SoHo. Unfortunately , I was looking for authentic Vietnamese food here and like other reviewers, found the food to be Vietnamese with a healthy trendy twist. I think you'd probably enjoy your experience more if you weren't expecting a pho that fills your soul or a vermicelli bowl to bring you comfort, but that's usually what I'm looking for when I order a big bowl of noodles in the middle of the day. This place is probably a good introduction to Vietnamese food if you've never had it before, but I think I'll stick to my places in the village.

Patric C.

Yelp
A decent joint in Soho for Viet food with a more contemporary twist. If I were looking for classic Viet food, I'd rather go to other joints in Chinatown or Soho (e.g., Saigon Shack, Pho Bang). But if you're looking to experiment with Viet flavors, you should check BoCaphe out. Food was decent and worth trying. Just keep in mind that the tables are placed very close to each other, and the service might be a little slow. Here's what I had: [$18] Beef & Lemongrass Rice Noodle Salad (Vermicelli Noodle Bowl). If you're not in the mood for pho right now, I'd recommend trying this! I love vermicelli noodle bowls in general. The beef was juicy and flavorful; the lemongrass and scallions tasted fresh; and the fish sauce was a great complement to the whole bowl. The $18 price tag makes my eye raise because other Viet joints would put this at $10.

Jacqueline H.

Yelp
This spot was disgusting. One star for the ambiance/the set up overall and the service, but the food was absolute trash. My friends and I ordered the bokchoy, taro fries, and shrimp tempura to start: bokchoy was extremely salty and fishy, and taro fries and shrimp tempura were both mediocre at best. I got the beef and lemongrass bobun as my entree and I literally ate 1/3 of it and I left hungry. The beef itself was very salty and tasted like the chefs just tossed it in oyster sauce and left it. The dish was for some reason very sour? Overall a -10 from me. This spot should not have a Viet name because that's a disgrace to Viet people. It's so white washed and watered down. The best thing I've tasted here was the iced jasmine tea.

Simran A.

Yelp
Ordered delivery from here via Caviar. I got the chicken satay, chicken pho soup and lava cake. Everything was delicious! You can even substitute noodles in the pho for zucchini noodles- I love that! The chicken satay was flavorful and I didn't even use the sauce it came with. The lava cake was amazing- so rich and not too sweet, just the way I like it. It comes with red bean ice cream, which was good but definitely not my favorite. I will definitely like to dine in here in the future!

Yelp
Stopped in for a late brunch on a Sunday afternoon and there was virtually no wait. Overall restaurant spacing is on the crowded side, but also not unexpected by Manhattan standards. Onto the food which came out pretty quickly - - Vietnamese Iced Coffee is too watery, wouldn't order that again - The Egg/Omelette Bahn Mi was surprisingly super tasty (bonus points for how good the cheese is!) - Papaya Salad was also really good though I wish it were a little spicier - Initially, I was a little disappointed with the Eggs Benedict since my eggs were not poached properly and overcooked, but the restaurant rectified this and everything was much better Our server was MIA for most of our meal, which depending on how much you care for service can be good or bad - I think the bare minimum would be to ask how everything tastes, but maybe I'm too picky. Cute aesthetic and cute ambiance, but overall not the amazing flavor bomb I would expect from Vietnamese and French fusion. Sadly, nothing to write home about.

Yelp
Had a tasty light lunch! The bún with black pepper beef was filling but still light enough to keep me going all day. Very much enjoyed everything!

Yelp
Well, I gasped when they handed me the bill! Not because of the price but because they serve you the bill tucked into a book and it happened to be my all-time favorite, "The Little Prince" by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry! Bo Ca Phe is a Vietnamese restaurant with a French twist, hence, the reference to "The Little Prince." Honestly, I loved the atmosphere and decor inside. It's cute and cozy and the bathroom is SPACIOUS. Something you don't find as often in NYC. (I couldn't figure out how to work the Dyson faucet/dryer though. Was that supposed to be a two in one? That's the fanciest faucet I've seen in Vietnamese establishment! Where was the air blasting out of? Couldn't figure out how to dry my hands ‍) We stopped in for a quick bite to eat for dinner. I opted for the Shrimp Vermicelli bowl aka Bo Bun or Rice Noodle Salad for those of you who are not familiar with Vietnamese cuisine. He opted for their Vegan Pho. My dish was EXACTLY what I had expected it to be. No frills. No fancy ingredients. Just the way I expected it to be prepared. Yes, the price is more expensive ($17 for Bo Bun w/ Shrimp) but what do you expect in New York City? You can't expect to get the same dish for the same price you pay in San Jose, CA or Houston, TX people! for vegan-friendly options!

Yelp
The ambiance of BoCaphe is adorable, casual and cozy. The staff was friendly and welcoming. Overall, they served solid fusion American-Vietnamese food but the price is kind of high compared to the portion and the choices on menu were limited. We were there as a group of 9 people, tried most of options on the menu and our favorite was their salad. The broth of pho was flavorful and light but my male colleagues complained they didn't feel satisfied at all after they finished. The balance of vermicelli and ingredients wasn't too good, my colleague needed to eat her rest of vermicelli with my chicken. The green papaya salad was the best among all our orders, the chicken was braised tender and tasty but little salty.

Yelp
This is a cute little lunch spot! They have some really funky dishes and you're sure to find something that you've never tried before. I ordered the salmon and avocado vermicelli bowl which was served cold and was so refreshing on a hot day after doing some shopping in SOHO. the salmon is fresh and the sauce that they serve the noodles with was flavorful and complimented the bowl well.

Yelp
Cute place with a nice outdoor spot to grab lunch. Everything on the menu looked amazing so it was hard to choose what I wanted but eventually I settled on the veggie and tofu bo bun which was very refreshing on a hot day. The flavor was good I loved the vermicelli noodles it came with. There wasn't a lot of tofu so that was sort of disappointing. I would recommend ordering the salmon and avocado bo bun which came with a lot more toppings. The service was very slow but appreciated the hip, causal vibe of the place.

Yelp
Cute place with nice and casual atmosphere. The food was great! Summer rolls, fried spring rolls with chicken and ginger, chicken pho with zucchini noodles. All were delicious! Wish we has more zucchini noodles in the pho though. The receipt was presented in a book. Cute idea. Great place for lunch and friendly staff.

Yelp
We were hungry and passed here thinking it would be a quick bite. We ordered the Vietnamese crepes and two Bo bun entrees, and it took 50 minutes for the appetizers to come out. At this point, it was not a quick eat anymore. The server came out to collect the finished app and dumped fish sauce over my wife's nylon cloth bag. Knowing fish sauce is hard to clean off cloth, the server did not apologize. The entrees never even came out after one hour. Our concern is that we were planning to eat within an hour before next event. Because of this we ended up not eating and had to take the entrees to-go. The biggest concern is that they brought out everyone else's entrees out before us even though those customers came in after us. The service was extremely bad.

Yelp
Cute place but VERY disappointing- both of us ordered the shrimp entree, which was about 85% carrot (no exaggeration, see photo)... and the rest peanut butter. Service was also non-existent, which was odd since there was only one other tablet present upon arrival.

Yelp
Super nice to have a new place in Chelsea. Had great expectations. Waitress was super nice but had no idea what she was doing. Appetizers and main course came at the same time. c Waitress said "oh sorry" and walked away. The food is definitely mediocre at best. Not really Vietnamese. More American fast food at extremely high prices for tiny ass portions. Drinks expensive and not that good. Decor very nice. And a nice outdoor dining. Don't expect much and you'll be ok.

Yelp
I'll be honest, I am often left feeling "meh" when I go to hyped-up Vietnamese places. I end up getting a banh mi and think it was good, but in the end, it was a sandwich. Big deal. I went in to BoCaphe with the same feeling, TBH. Then add my seafood allergy which kills off a lot of the menu because of fish oils in a lot of the dishes. Grumble, grumble. We got some appetizers, spring rolls were good. I got a chicken and rice bowl. I was expecting very little, its a chicken and rice bowl. However, it was very good. There was plenty of chicken and the peanut sauce was delicious and it was dressed perfectly such that there wasn't a pool of sauce drowning the rice. The service was very good and the vibe of the place is definitely SoHo / LES chic. Go, you will love it.

Yelp
The bao bun with shiitake mushrooms and cheese was so gooey soft and crunchy all at once. It truly was impressive and a MUST get. I also had the spicy kale salad which was refreshing yet not spicy at all. Overall nice cafe!
