Great food at very reasonable prices. Service is good and fast. The pork is tasty and tender. Dishes are quite big and steaks are absolutely delicious. The diabolo hot sauce one the chicken wings is great. Very nice and relaxing atmosphere for dinner with your girlfriend. Very good selection of wine and beer! Ideal choice if you like good quality meat at reasonable prices! Highly recommend!

The food was lovely here and our server was friendly. They had lots of options available for adding healthier items to your order if you are gluten free. The music was mostly from the 1980s which I enjoyed. They had a good range of cocktails and mocktails.

We heard great things about the macaroni before but when we got it, it was very disappointing and quite bland. The meat was cooked perfectly in the sauce, that was the highlight of the meals. Cocktails were strong and were served it large glasses. This restaurant is quite good but very pricey.

Excellent food, great atmosphere, make sure to ask for a doggy bag your eyes will be bigger than your belly. More than that the staff are the friendliest and most welcoming people you could ask for. Absolutely amazing couldn't ask for better food or company

WARNING: DO NOT COME TO THIS RESTAURANT! Save yourself! Food: Very poor. Chicken was pink (as shown in photo), beer was warm, food come out within 10 minutes (we ordered 2 full platters), coleslaw was horrible, chips tasted as they were made the day before and just put in the microwave and served to us. Me and my family made the decision to not take the remaining food for our dog which says a lot. Service: After informing the manager of the above info, we were given a discounted bill, our waiter was on the miserable side but was very apologetic. Manager told us the pink chicken was their “seasoning” and tried to take me and my family as fools Atmosphere: DEAD. No one was in there apart from my family’s table. No wonder considering the standard of their food! Honestly don’t bother. Can’t wait till they close, would give zero stars if possible

Google
Definitely for the meat lovers...food always good (BBQ tastes authentic)...premises clean and comfortable and staff always friendly and attentive. Pricing is reasonable.

If you are a meat lover then this is the place for you. The portions are really huge and the quinoa salad is the business!!!!. Staff friendly enough.. only slight issue is the sitting arrangements.. can be a bit of a squeeze if you are sharing a booth with people who order a lot of food..

Tasty ribs at a great price. Worth a go before a night out in Clapham. Friendly and fast service. Even when it's crowded it's not too noisy. Some tables are shared but they're wide enough not to feel like you're in each other's face

Yelp
This restaurant is located just steps away from Clapham Common tube station. Bodeans I would describe it as an American BBQ inspired restaurant if that makes sense. If you LOVE BBQ as much as I do, you need to give this place a try. First the one thing I didn't like. The TVs, I despise going out to eat and having TVs blaring. This restaurant had 3 but at least they were not obnoxiously loud. We got that out of the way, onwards we go. The atmosphere is casual, the decor is mostly wood. It's nothing fancy yet it's comfortable and clean. Eunique was our server a lovely young girl that was ever so accommodating. She was sweet and very helpful. I'm not a pork rib fan so I opted for the beef ribs. A little more pricey but well worth it. You get two bones, fries and coleslaw. It was enough for two meals really. They were done perfectly, fall off the bone and had a lovely flavour. My eyes could not stop rolling around in my head from delight. I really want to go back. Writing this review is making my mouth water all over again.

Yelp
Nice BBQ spot we stopped at for lunch after some sightseeing. I had a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. Highly recommended.

Yelp
So I came here for my birthday and it was happy hour! Amazing! It was quiet as I had to book for 5pm as online, there were no later bookings available which was a bit disappointing, but it meant our night got started earlier (a good thing or not, I'm not sure!) It did start to pick up though, and the food came rather quickly, as did the drinks. They limit the happy hour cocktails to around 8-10 (if I can remember correctly). I had the Alabama Slammer which was delish, and Tokyo ice tea, also very yummy! I also had the passion daisy which I think was my favourite. I wants the negroni as Bombay Sapphire him in my fave, but unfortunately they didn't have all the ingredients necessary. The food came in bigger portions than I imagined! For starters we shared nachos and chicken wings... Deffo more than enough and very tasty! For mains I had a 1/2 chicken and rib combo which came with chips and coleslaw. I asked for chilli chips, however I was not aware that this meant beef chilli (it didn't state on the menu) and I don't eat beef, therefore I had to send it back. I didn't expect them to change the whole meal but at least the plate, as when the plate came back it had the stains of the beef chilli on it! 2 of my friends also ordered it but it didn't arrive on their plates, however when we got the bill, we got charged for it! Deffo wasn't willing to pay, so we sent the bill back. Other than that little mishap, I enjoyed my experience at Bodeans and would return again, but maybe eat a little less!

Yelp
Meat eaters delight. Can get busy here and you cannot book so ensure you come early so not to be disappointed in the evening. I opted for the ribs (of which there are a variety of these including beef) which were fall off the bone soft. This was served with much chips and coleslaw. You really do not need any more sides with your meal. We had a few cocktails also. They were happy to remake the ones we didn't think were done quiet right. Good place if you are having a casual meal, want to be noisy and enjoy cocktails with smily happy staff serving you.

Victoria W.

Yelp
Bodeans is not my cup of tea, but if beef is, then you're sure to love it. This one is phenomenally popular in Clapham. It's a typical American-style rib-house - all red and black decor and booth seating. The portions are huge and the staff friendly. Best of all are the deals - stop the clock is a good promotion, where you pay the price of the time you order at - e.g 7pm =£7. It's a meat lovers haven and, as a vegetarian, really not for me. I did however enjoy the sides (the veggie burger was pretty uninspiring and bland) including onion rings and corn. Don't go here for a special meal, but if you're after straightforward, no-frills meat then it's a safe bet.

Yelp
Thank god for Bodean's. When you've been on a real bender the night before (or the whole day and night before, in fact), a meat feast in Bodean's is what will bring you back to life again. I had a special dish they only do on certain days of the week called Burnt Ends, and it was amazing: marinated in a delicious barbeque sauce of sorts, and so juicy and tender it almost melts in your mouth. Which came in handy today, as I was so hungover I almost didn't have the energy to chew. It also helped that the waiter was incredibly friendly and more than happy to hear about our antics the night before. I could eat here every day!

Yelp
My hubby and I went for a dinner always go by and smell the food which smelt good. So I ordered a Aw root beer and it brought back my child hood memories and for dinner whole rack of baby back ribs which came with chips and colsaw and dip. My hubby got jerk chicken and chips and macaroni and cheese with a glass of red wine. I had asked our helpful waiter which one is better the ribs or baby back ribs. So he said baby back ribs more juicier anyway they were mega dry and their wasn't much meat so I was glad I got the whole baby back ribs because their wasn't much meat on them and they were dry and not smoked or seasoned There BBQ sauces on the table was nice The Marconi was ok, not much taste but ok Paid £40 for whole meal Tried it once, I've had better BBQ slight over priced, friendly helpful staff!

Yelp
We arrived to Bodean's on a Sunday evening with the following expectations: "peace" in bbq sauce, "love" in chicken and "understanding" from our beer. You know, because tomorrow is Monday. Great job done by Bodean's as they checked every spot and when we left the premises, tomorrow didn't feel like Monday anymore. We ordered chicken wings (bbq and buffalo) and half of a chicken with a side of coleslaw and roasted veggies (cherry tomatoes and sliced up okra). Wings were quite big and generously dressed, chicken was nicely roasted (not brined enough though), veggies were awesome and slaw was meh. Almost comparable with US standards on BBQ (they have sam adams & blue moon to clean up your greasy taste buds) so we will obviously be back.

Yelp
So this is the second time I've been to Bodeans, the first being the Balham one down the road. I thought that it was...okay. I'm not a massive fan of American style restaurants which serves just meat, and in my opinion, their drinks offer was their saving grace. As we were there from 5pm, we were in time for their Happy Hour which runs from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Friday and all day Sundays. For my first round I opted for a Bellini and a Passion Daisy. Both were delicious and hit the spot straight away! For my second round (which I had later on), I opted for a Bramble and a Scarlett O'Hara, which again were both delicious and sweet. As we were a group of 6 we ordered 2 portions of nachos to share and one portion of the hot buffalo wings to share. I think that that is my favourite thing on the menu - the buffalo wings. They were great! Meaty and saucy, very tasty. For mains, I think my eyes were bigger than my belly as I ordered the 1/2 Chicken, Pulled Pork and Grilled Smoked Sausage which came with chips and Coleslaw. Also for £16.45, I didn't think that that was a bad price for all of that food. When we ordered, we asked for chilli cheese fries thinking that it would be fries with chilli sauce and cheese on top however when it came it was with chilli con carne. Now myself and one of my dinner companions don't eat beef due to religious reasons so when we explained our misunderstanding to the waitress, she was very accommodating and replaced the chilli cheese fries for normal ones. Two of our other dinner companions HAD ordered the chilli cheese fries however when theirs came, neither of them had the chilli on it. Maybe it was because we had sent ours back - I don't know why but we told them to tell the waiting staff but they couldn't be bothered. The good itself was okay. The chicken, although seasoned well was dry as was the pulled pork. I liked the smoked sausage, that was tasty and the chips and coleslaw were okay, pretty average. Between 4 of us we also ordered the Mac & Cheese to have on the side and that was pretty good. But I think that I was just full up from drinks and generally not having eaten a lot during the day. When the bill came, the waiter had kept the chilli cheese fries on the bill - even though two of us hadn't actually received them however after we told them they took it off. We also were able to take our leftovers away which was good. Overall, Bodeans is okay. Good for people who like their meat and American food. For me, I don't think I will be visiting again in a hurry.

Yelp
"Finger lickin' good. But where are the moist towelettes?" My family is from Kentucky, on the border of West Virginia. I've eaten ribs in Texas, Memphis Tennessee, Southern California, out of a roadside smoker, worked at the number 1 rib joint in Cincinnati- and I can say with all honesty that these are some of the best damned ribs I've ever had. And the fries "chips" with the Cajun seasoning. Legit US goodness right there. If I could make one improvement- even the shabbiest of back alley rib joints- give you wet naps to clean your fingers.

Yelp
Went here yesterday and it was GREAT! staff were friendly and efficient. Ordered a deal where you got wings, pulled pork, rings, chips, coleslaw AND half a pint for only £15- and the portion sizes were good sizes! I would 100% recommend it!!!!

Yelp
Bodean's is a wonderful American-style BBQ place in Clapham Common. I had a lovely sandwich here with a delicious pint as I watched the Atlanta Falcons play American football. What a clutch spot for whenever I felt homesick; a friendly staff and fantastic music. This place is brilliant!

Yelp
There's nothing about this Bodean's location that is any better or worse than the Bodean's location in Soho, so I hardly see how it has earned itself only 2.5 stars (at the time of the penning of this review). It must be rated down due to its south-of-the-river location. Stop being such a bunch of racist Yelp fascists! Jeez. Anyway, yeah. I'm giving it four stars. Why would a vegetarian be giving a BBQ restaurant four stars? Because I like BBQ sauce. And corn bread. And Bodean's has both of these things. Sure, the macaroni and cheese I ordered today was just so-so. Also, in response to some previous posts about the lack of vegetarian options, I can say that as a vegetarian I'm not expecting to see a lot on the menu here from which to choose. I mean, the logo has a pig on it. But there were three things - count them, three - on the menu that a vegetarian could eat. The mediocre double vegetarian burger (which becomes automatically amazing once removed from the bun and bathed in sweet BBQ sauce - best eaten with a fork and knife, just sayin'), the aforementioned macaroni and cheese and vegetarian enchiladas. Why an American BBQ restaurant is selling enchiladas, I cannot say. But, there you go. Oh yeah, and the freshly brewed iced tea, while arriving at the table a worryingly pale yellow colour, tasted excellent, laced as it was with citrus, and was accompanied by a shot glass full of simple syrup. Bodean's gets an automatic extra star for that. My expatriated American-South loins quiver at the mention of good iced tea.

Yelp
Lol... vegetarians at a BBQ joint? Oh you know we are in Europe :P You don't go to a BBQ place unless you like meat people (and lots of it!). I'm not going to tell you that Bodeans is the best BBQ place ever BUT, if you live in London, are from the US and like BBQ then this is a little slice of red, white and blue. They even serve american beer that I am a big fan of including Sam Adams and Bluemoon so that alone gives them the 4th star. ANNND they have a sport schedule of American games (mostly NFL and college football right now), so you can actually go watch the 1pm EST NFL game there on a Sunday night for dinner! (Darn I miss real NYC sports bars where you can't even see the walls because it's all covered with tvs with every single game on). Okay ya, back to food... pulled pork sandwich was good, but I think it would be better if they asked you what sauce you wanted and came out with it prepared that way (they give you a sandwich with pulled pork and then you add the sauce from a choice of 2 at the table). Then if there was too little sauce you could add some more. Also had the buffalo wings there, and although not the same by most US standards, they were pretty darn close and the amount of chicken you actually received with your buffalo wings was surprising! Definitely order them at least hot though, hot was at most medium in US terms and I can't imagine them tasting at all like buffalo wings in a mild sauce. I don't have anything negative to say about the waitstaff, they were fine enough and although when it is packed it does seem they could use some help, they get to you in good enough time... i'm learning to let go of my US "chew and screw" mentality and start to take a real lunch break so it's nice to not feel rushed out of a place as soon as you take your last bite of food!

Louisa B.

Yelp
Meaty goodness, that's all I have to say... Ok some more? My guy mates are addicted to this place and it has to be said I'm really not ordinarily a fan of BBQ sauce (however I think McDonald's BBQ dipping sauce has something to do with that, its horrid). Also, we had to wait 40 minutes for a table to squeeze us all onto (not a problem a quick pint in a local couldn't sort) However this place is blummin amazing. The meat is quality, tender and tasty - and I tried a bit of everything so take my advice (chicken, ribs, pork, brisket...) Prices are good for the meal sizes - from £7 for a burger and chips up to £17 for a double/triple meat offering with chips and coleslaw. I am DEFINITELY going back soon. The service was also fab, friendly, upbeat Top Tips; 1 - Brisket - I'd never tried before and it was amazing, tasty, soft and smothered in gorgeous BBQ sauce 2 - Pulled port - equally as tasty 3 - Chicken wings - I didn't actually have any but the next table were tucking into a massive plate and making some seriously loud noises about how brill they were

Siobhan K.

Yelp
Oh man, I used to live across the road from this place and was a regular customer. The pulled pork, ribs, burgers, sides were all so tasty, succulent, messy & oh so enjoyable!! Ooh and the pulled pork Caeser salad!! Yummo!!! They have a nice BBQ sauce as a condiment on the tables - that was pretty yummo! Not sure if they still do this - but they used to do those mid week deals where you paid the amount that equalled the time you were there (5:45pm = £5:45p) Now that was a bargain deal!! Recommend!

Bernadette P.

Yelp
When me and my fiancé lived in Balham, we used to visit this Bodeans all the time. The food is absolutely amazing; the portions are enormous and tastes incredible (especially the pulled pork - it's to die for!) The desserts are fab too - they do a chocolate macadamia nut cheesecake which is probably one on the best cheesecakes I've ever had. Perhaps best of all, they serve Canadian beer which we really enjoy as my other half is Canadian and we haven't seen it in any other restaurant outside of North America. Like the other reviewers said, there isn't a lot of choice for vegetarians but let me ask you this: if you don't eat meat then why the hell would you go to a place whose main speciality is BBQ meat?! I have pretty harsh feelings on vegetarians dining out anyway, (and vegetarians in general, actually...sorry!) but surely if you know you're not going to be able to eat a single thing on the menu at Bodeans then why go there? I, on the other hand LOVE meat and I think Bodeans does the best BBQ meat around. That's all the positive points about this place and the reason it's got 2 stars. Bodeans in Clapham is missing 3 stars because of it's total lack of service. There seems to be an incredibly high turnover of staff as every time we went there we saw a whole new set of faces serving us. There is a severe lack of staff and at it's busiest times, you're extremely lucky if you get the attention of a server when you need one within half an hour. It got to the point that we used to look up the menu on the web and decide what we were going to order before we even got there so that we could get our order in the second we were seated by a server as we had no idea how long it would be before we saw them again. We also got into the habit of ordering 2 drinks each all at once because we knew we'd be totally out of luck if we needed a refill on our beer halfway through the meal. There was also a time where we were sitting in a booth when it started to get busy and the waitress seated a couple of total strangers next to us at our table - it felt like a really awkward double date. If there's no free tables, I think people should be made to wait for one like at every other restaurant in the world. I also don't like that this restaurant only seems to own one CD - the very best of Creedance Clearwater Revival. Great band, but if you come here for a meal, you're going to be sitting there for a looooooooong time and you really don't want to hear the same tracks loop at least 3 times before you leave. If it weren't for the absolutely incredible food, we'd have stopped coming here after our first disastrous visit.

Yelp
Sometimes you just have that craving for proper BBQ sauce. Now I'm not talking about Heinz "BBQ" Sauce or heavens forbid "brown sauce" but rather the rich tomato-ey slightly acidic full of meaty flavour sauce that explodes in your mouth and is almost better than the actual meat. We went to Bodean's for a house valentines day dinner...and basically because we were craving steak and pulled pork. Bodean's is true to its nature and provides some quality smoked meats with hefty helpings of BBQ sauce. I got the "Pig Out" deal (Pulled pork and ribs combo with 'slaw, fries, and a beer for £10) although I wouldn't say I pigged out on what they provided. The pulled pork was about half a handful and the ribs a half rack at best. Still, the meat was tender and juicy and the fries crispy and excellently spiced. The beer was actually a half-pint and I would have felt quite silly if not for the fact one of my housemates donated her half-pint so they brought me a full one (a big boy beer if you will). After demolishing the leftovers from two others, I felt that I had reached the "Pig Out" point and did what any other foodie would do. I had dessert. Dessert consisted of a slice of pecan pie with ice cream. Delicious. I liked this Bodean's for the comfortable atmosphere, the friendly staff, the tasty food, and the unlimited supply of sauce. I would prefer larger portions (I cut my teeth on the Texas style BBQ restaurants in which they sell the meats by weight not dish) but it's probably better for the waistline that they aren't.

Melania P.

Yelp
Okay, I must admit, I'm a bit of a connoisseur on BBQ...I know what good BBQ taste like. Now, I'm not trying to brag, but I have eaten BBQ from North Carolina to Tennessee and beyond and what I've had in Bodean's pales in comparison. I know that this is London and not a BBQ powerhouse southern state, but I was hopeful that I'd find something reminiscent of what I know BBQ to be. Bodean's looks like any other BBQ restaurant and the service is attentive just like any other BBQ restaurant, but that is where the similarities end. The food at Bodean's is okay. It's nothing to shout about and lacks that succulent flavour that I'm used to, the sauce is a bit on the sweet side rather than the tangy. Oh well, they did put forth a good effort and I would not shun Bodean's. But now I know what to expect and it's not the BBQ I've grown accustomed.

Helen E.

Yelp
Boasting bbq meat as the unique selling point, this place had to be great really. It isn't. The ribs, pulled pork, chicken etc are tasty, but not good enough to warrant the horrible post-pigging out (excuse the pun) feeling afterwards, and certainly not as yummy as good home cooked bbq grub. ONE veggie thing on the entire menu, which I imagine would irritate a mixed group. Whatever you do, do not order their creamed corn. I have heard of such a thing in American novels, so was keen to try something new from across the water. I have no idea if it is supposed to taste like tinned rice pudding from a supermarket 'value' range which has been regurgitated into a ramekin dish...? Fun atmosphere; by which I mean it's ok to be a big drunken group and it's fun if you are in one.

Namita A.

Yelp
The hubby and I were missing the US on this particular evening and poked our heads in on a Monday evening, which even then was super crowded. The maitre'd said it would be approximately a 30 min wait, so we went and got a drink across the street. Came back and ordered the chicken, rib and pulled pork sampler with a side salad and bread. All of it was YUMMY!!! Chicken and Pulled pork were both nice and juicy and hubby inhaled the ribs. Side salad, I would ask to have the dressing on the side as I like more vinegar and less oil. The one dish was more than enough for the two of us. Hubby ordered a Corona and I had a glass of wine (i think pinot gris), which I would say no to the next time but the food was awesome.

Chad E.

Yelp
God Bless America I found some BBQ that reminds me of the land of the free and home of the Blue Moon Beer. (yeah, it's a good beer) The barbecue is tasty, tender and choice of sauces quite good. I felt transported back the the states while in Bodean's aside from being surrounded by folks with British accents. LOL, I'm sure that was their intent. :) I believe this was one of the best BBQ experiences to date I've had in London. Bodean's BBQ is pretty damn good y'all and the only thing I was missing was a big ol' glass of sweetened ice tea, but as they say you can't have it all.

Simon W.

Yelp
Let's face it, BBQ season is short in London, and most people are not skilled or adventurous enough to produce much more than slightly charred yet still undercooked burgers, sausages, and the occasional steak . Fortunately, to address both the seasonality and skills issues, we have Bodeans, which is not wholly unlike an actual BBQ place somewhere like, say, Chicago, only with much better beer.Lots of offers, specials, sides all in all, filling, fast (ish), and fun not the finest BBQ in the world but good enough for an occasional visit.

Matthew D.

Yelp
Bodeans is your typical American styled food; all meat and barbecue sauce. It's layout is like a typical diner with comfy seating and, though not the largest venue, it can seat quite a few people and does get very busy. Service is always very attentive. Maybe too attentive as last time my friend were constantly interrupted by someone asking us if we were okay, which annoyed us even more as the only condiment we requested failed to arrive though the checks persisted. Food-wise, it's nothing amazing. I've had better burgers and ribs elsewhere. We got there just after 6 and were eligible for a stop the clock promotion where on certain dishes you pay whatever the time you order is, ie; 6.30pm = £6.30, which was quite novel. The food also arrived quite quickly so I can recommend this place for those booked into the nearby cinema.

Glen M.

Yelp
Totally aaaaaight. I think this one's rather better than then one in Soho (or at least more consistent). Solid food, and it tastes as good as you could imagine outside of the USofA. Plus, they carry ridiculously overpriced American beers, like Sierra Nevada. At nearly £5 a pint, this is a total rip-off, but I still drink them. Not a place to go way out of your way for, but solid. Just remember which type of ribs you're ordering.

Julia D.

Yelp
I think that this is where my snobby American food taste comes out. I got this brisket dish called "burnt ends." It was okay, but it felt too greasy for bbq. It didn't really seem like it was authentic bbq. One thing I LOVED was that they were showing a delayed Giants game. So cool!

Qype User (Bart…)

Yelp
Bodean's is the perfect place for any fellow meat lover! Friendly staff, fantastic food and quick service - not to mention the great value for money. It gets very busy, especially on weekends, and can get very noisy, but that is hardly surprising when the food is so great!

Qype User (danima…)

Yelp
Having been first introduced to Burnt Ends in an authentic Mid West smokehouse, I certainly didn't expect to find anything comparable in the UK - boy was I wrong. Actually Bodean's is better than eating it in the US, because you don't have to put up with the atrociously poor beer they are so fond of over the pond. To top it off the atmosphere is pretty good, and it is pretty reasonably priced too - especially if you go during one of their numerous special offers.

Qype User (elliot…)

Yelp
I love me some down home Country Barbecue, and Bodean's is the closest your going to find in London. I adore the Soho location. For me thats the best one. i just enjoy the layout and the serving style alittle more than Claphams seats and plates. Give me brown paper, thats all i need! The food is always excellent, although a little expensive. But if you go at the right times when they are having deals, you can make it worth it. I have yet to try, but soon intend to, get their prepacked take home meat to see if i can recreated the experience at home.

Zoe B.

Yelp
Their chicken makes Nando's look like amateurs. It's amazing. So impressed.

Nick V.

Yelp
I love Bodeans. I visit quiet regularly and always leave happy and full! Definitely try the pulled pork sandwich and the Soho special. Both delicious. The hot wings are good too.

Glen C.

Yelp
Following some good reviews I decided to give Bodeans BBQ a try. The restaurant was easy to find: only a few hundred yards from Clapham Common tube station, just head up Clapham High Street away from the common and it is on the right. Starters are £4-7 and include clam chowder, smoked chicken gumbo, ribs and quesadillas. I went for the Nachos Supreme which came with salsa, sour cream and guacamole. Mains range from £6-17 and are very much American Grill style: hot meat sandwiches, salads, burgers, chicken, ribs, pulled pork and steaks. I went for a combo of chicken, pulled pork and smoked sausages served with a baked potato and creamed corn. The food was well prepared and tasty. I will definitely be back. The food was good and the service was friendly and fast. Tuesday's half-price steaks night sounds like a bargain, but I am also intrigued by their 'Burnt Ends' described as slow smoked pieces of beef brisket in a light BBQ sauce which are only available on Wednesdays. All I have to do now is decide if I go back on Tuesday or Wednesday Addendum: I managed to get back there on Tuesday to try the steaks, which are half price on Tuesdays. The restaurant was busy, as you would expect, but they still managed to seat me quite quickly. After that the service fell through a hole in the floor: which was rather disappointing. I had the Clam Chowder, which was nice, and then a rare steak. Unfortunately the steak suffered from two flaws: it was seasoned with something which rather dominated the flavour (I'd prefer my steak to taste of steak!); and the other problem was my rare steak was served on a hot cast-iron plate which meant that my Rare steak started life as a Medium, and by the time I finished the steak was close to well done. Despite the snags I still enjoyed my meal, the general atmosphere was good and the food, despite the flaws, was still OK. If you are a steak purist I suggest you try somewhere else. I prefer rare fillet steaks, and these are simply not on offer here.

Yelp
I'm not quite sure why they did a refit, it still looks the same to me? Although I really want some of the antler wall lights for my own place Who loves meat? If you do then you'll love Bodean's! Beware though, on walking through the door you will experience the classic 'eyes bigger than tummy' syndrome and order twice as much food as you can eat and then feel obliged to cram it all down. It would be rude otherwise wouldn't it? This must be why America has its obesity problem If I could have barbecue meat like this every night I would happily be obese! Pleasant staff, comfy atmosphere, great meat. Give it a go.

Yelp
I've been to the one in Soho many a time and thought that it was about time I made it to this one closer to home. I had heard that it wasn't as good but that's a lie there's just not such a problem with getting a table because it's not in central London - BLISS. The food is just as good and the service faster. If you want top notch American BBQ meats then Bodean's is definitely the place to head to. The burnt ends are delicious - but limited to only some days of the week. Try the ribs, or the meatloaf. All are brilliant for carnivores - just try not invite your veggie friends cos it's a bit limited.

Yelp
I love this place, and not only for its ''Steak Tuesdays'' when all steaks are HALF PRICE! and they are good steaks at that! I love Bodeans because it is not upper class pretentious dining - nor is it scraping the barrel. It is damn good hearty food on a rather large plate! In a very pleasant setting :) Obvisouly being a BBQ and rather american stylee there are lots of juicy steaks, chunky chips and naughty sides like garlic bread and onion rings. Everything i have ever eaten here i have enjoyed. My fav however are the HUGE ribs in sticky BBQ sauce. very yummy. The staff are efficient and make for a quick and easy night where you will not get hungry waiting. They do some random offers which i see have already been mentioned above, so look out for those! If you are looking for somewhere not too quite but not too loud, fun and friendly doing great food (in BIG portions) for small prices then this is your place. Enjoy!

Yelp
I ordered the BBQ chicken burger. I asked to swapp the fries with salad. The waitress responded in a monotone voice 'subsitutes will be made at an extra cost', and pointed to the bottom of the menu. Ok, fair enough, but she was so rude about it, it didn't make me feel better. My fries were cold, burger was passable - nothing amazing. My husband had the 'Jacobs Ladder' which he says was great meat. Sides again was poor. Coleslaw was bland. Other than the jacobs ladder, food was poor and service worse. Place is a rip off. Not all it's cracked up to be.

Yelp
I am a meat lover and I must say I've got very disappointed by this restaurant. I went with some friends and we ordered two platters of meats to share for £22 each. The portions were small and the meat was stone hard. On top of it the lights were changing intensity every two minutes giving us headache. This place doesn't go anywhere near an American steak house. I am actually amazed about other people reviews, I guess majority of people cannot really tell what good meat taste like. I recommend el TORO in west kensington, their Argentinian steak comes with sides included in the price which is very reasonable. Meat is juicy and tasty without having to put any sauces on it. I won't go back to Bodean neither I would recommend it to any friends or clients who want to eat excellent steaks or pork.

Yelp
Having had a lot of bbq, I think this place is great. Ordered both the pulled pork/ ribs and 1/4 chicken/ pulled pork/ sausage combos and both were fantastic. Portion sizes were big and prices decent, especially the deals.

Yelp
I used to love going to this place when they had the Tuesday steak deal and have to admit that my visits have been less frequent since they stopped it. With this in mind though they still have some really good deals and a great one that links with Clapham Picture House across the road. The food is always well cooked and the staff are very attentive (sometimes slightly over-attentive) and although the prices for the food are reasonable, the soft drinks are a bit on the pricey side.

Yelp
Good option for a meatfest in Clapham. The ribs can be slightly dry and the menu misses out on having proper southern food like collared greens and black eyed peas. The margaritas are good though so keep those coming and concentrate on the novelties like wings and quesedillas.

Yelp
The taste of Burnt Ends and Baby Back ribs...mmm mmmm. Your mamma couldn't make them any better. Bodeans is a American bbq dining experience straight out of MidWest state of Kansas. Although a little bit on the pricey side, you sure won't go home hungry and is always a pleasure to go visit when you are craving some real food. Relaxed atmosphere with smiley happy service making this a great place to go for an informal meal. Free condiment sauces on every table give you that extra BBQ flavour and make every mouthfull as good as the first. The menu covers the gamut of bbq meats.. steaks, burgers, ribs, pork, chicken as well as salads. Bodeans Clapham has special offers throughout the week so make sure you take advantage of those. Also, they have a loyalty card so be sure to get one and have this stamped on your visit. The 'Q' card gives you further discounts so sign up for those. Always a pleasure to eat there. Keep up the good work!

Yelp
Food is tasty but a little it like you would make at home. I wouldn't travel any distance to visit but it's american dining in London. American beers are very expensive. On busy nights expect to be buddies up on a table if you are in a pair as well.

Yelp
Ever since we first went to Bodean's, we've been hooked! They have the most amazing Burnt Ends and Pulled Pork I've ever had! They have great BBQ sauce and a selection of hotter sauces on each table. The fries are great with a very tasty seasoning on it. My partner loves the ribs! Gets them every time! It's has a great atmosphere and I love seeing baseball, ice hockey and even grid iron on the TV - just adds to the feel of the place. The price is pretty decent and they have a club card you can get where you'll get 2-4-1 on Mondays and free stuff throughout the week. We've been to all 4 in London and the service we've received at each has been top notch. I've recommended this place to family and friends and they've enjoyed it too.

Yelp
Probably the best BBQ in the UK and a good menu, US travelers may not find it as diverse as they are used to and the services does at times fall well below the standard expected in the US. If you find the staff a little brisk but like the food try the Ealing Broadway sites as they seem friendlier.

Yelp
So I ordered the ordered the slow cooked beef and my friend got the Watermelon salad. The beef was burnt and harder than a rock and the salad and the Soggy watermelons in them with just spinach. The servers all sounded like they were easy europeans and were rude. Wouldn't recommend this place

Yelp
Went for a meal for two with my partner and was seated in a booth . Ambience and food was lovely . Every thing was spoilt when a random couple were sat next to us in the booth perfect evening ruined . First and last visit

Yelp
I am an American and love to cook and eat BBQ and Bodean's definitely stands up. The burnt ends are EXCELLENT! Actually everything was great. The Chipotle sauce rocks.

Yelp
If you're going here for anything other than the ribs then you need a mental health check, not because the rest of the food is anything but delicious, but because the ribs are absolutely outstanding. Particularly the Jacobs Ladder variety. If you haven't gone, go, good service, great food and pretty good value.
