"Smoked sardines with a caramelised onion salsa, spider crab cake with “gulas” and balsamic cream, mackerel “capricho”, Iberian pork “lagarto”, fried peppers etc. This centrally located tapas bar in one of the city’s emblematic streets features a long bar with the typical sight of myriad hams hanging above the counter. A great option for tapas and raciones, including an impressive choice of hot and cold pinchos, toasted sandwiches, meat and fish stews, and various scrambled egg dishes." - Michelin Inspector

It was Sunday and after Mass at the cathedral we went to this place based on the online ratings. When we walked the boss/owner didn't welcome us; he just sat there. A man behind the bar did. And we asked if we could sit at one of the free tables (with tablecloth, that whole section was open) and he said OK but we could only order from the menu. We said that was fine. But then the boss/owner said no. We would have left but a regular table freed up and we were hungry. We ordered 4 things (including the gambas al ajillo which were dry). We went to another place nearby and had a great time and great food. I wouldn't recommend this place. Go to Bar Gaucho instead.

A must do! Small dishes, iberican ham, loads of small delicious toasts! I love it! You may not understand what the dishes are made of, just try them! Ask their recommendations, you’re gon’a be surprised. I strongly recommend.

Nice bar, big choice of tapas, but better order from the menu. Crowded at nights (Thursday-Sunday extremely). We’ve ordered three tapas and all of them too many onion 🧅, potatoes 🥔 and sunflower oil(((

Really disappointing. We visited this bar because they are listed in the Michelin Guide. I am VERY disappointed. The gamba frito was not cleaned properly and the batter undercooked and soggy. The wine by the glass is the poorest quality I have tasted in Spain. Very underwhelming. I assume they will be removed from the Michelin Guide soon, as a Michelin inspector would not be impressed either.

Fantastic experience Walked by this place while walking to the main square. The place was packed and decided to comeback after checking out the town. Although we came back almost an hour later, the palace was still full; we decided to try our luck and found our way in. We had no idea how things worked, since everyone inside had a drink and tapas, but it wasn't clear who was waiting on anyone. That's when Iñaki spotted us and came from behind the counter. He quickly explained how things worked out and offered to take care of us. Waited until a spot on one of the community tables opened up and sat ourselves. From that moment on, we were able to enjoy one of our best meals in Spain. Food was great, but Iñaki made our evening truly memorable.

A regular pintxos (small bites) place, mix service, we got one good and one bad server. Initially the waiter said I need to order at the bar but then another server mentioned that they can take the order from the table.

Nothing spectacular - the food we had was ok - The reason for 4 stars instead of an average 3 stars is that the waiter went all out to serve a Vegan dish to one of my freinds every though he did not speak English and we did not speak Spanish - very good service 👍😊

Yelp
Among the crowded streets of Pamplona, one of the main places to try pintxos is on Estafeta Kalea. Estafeta is the longest street used for the running of the bulls. It is lined with great food places and bars. On the backside of the street is Plaza de Castillo where there are even more food and bar options. This is food and drink wonderland. Some of the most artistic pintxos we saw in our 3 week adventure in the Basque territories came from Sarria. The place is ALWAYS jammed and has a huge reputation with the locals and visitors alike. One has to push their way to the bar to get service and it is fast and courteous once you make it there. You better know what you want because the guys behind the counter are just a blur of activity. We ate there for lunch and then my local family wanted to go there for a pre-dinner boost. Totally recommend this place.

Yelp
Came here every day for beer and jamon, cinco jotas. Life is good. Service was great, place was nice and clean. The ham speaks for itself.

Yelp
If you're a member of PETA this place IS NOT for you. You've got to run the meat gauntlet just to step in the door! I counted 40 legs of ham hanging from the ceiling complete with the little cup, under each, to catch the drippings. Considering the ham and the cool wallpaper made of old posters promoting the running of the bulls I was hopeful that this place would be great. Sadly it was not. An item or two was terrific but the next few were so-so and a couple were blech. Lots of small sandwich type items that looked good but will not have me returning for more. The sangria was delicious and the pocket door to the bathroom was awesome. But Bodegon your Michelin stars mean nothing to me and I'm afraid I can't recommend you.
