Boiler - Review - Koreatown - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Boiler specializes in meat-heavy Korean comfort foods. Along with seollongtang that comes with a prehistoric-looking beef rib sticking out of the bowl, you’ll find dishes like grilled short rib patties and spicy baby back ribs covered in melted cheese. They even sell their house bone broth in sealed to-go pouches if you want to take some home. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Cathy Park

I went to this place after watching some Instagram videos. I do not recommend this place. All the food we ordered lack flavor. Had to add salt on everything just so it would have some flavor. Cabbage pancakes were dripping oil, pork ribs seemed to be cooked separately from the sauce so it lacked a lot of flavors, and soup was disappointing with lack of salt and flavor. Suyook salad was also missing a lot of flavors and it had too many onions with very few thinly sliced beef. Very disappointed 😞

Came here for Seilleojgtsng and love their grill ribs too! The Dotteokgal was so tender and flavorful. We also ordered the cheese spicy pork rib too and we both like it. The place is really clean and a lot of parking space without valet. The service is also great and we enjoy dinning here.

Google
Everything was delicious! So fresh! Their food is a little American fusion Korean style!! Very creative! And it tastes soooo good! A lot of drinks can choose! The staff have a great service attitude! They also have frozen cooked food for sale! Especially suitable for those of us who like to eat Korean food but can not make it at home! Super recommend to everyone! And is Free parking there! Which is amazing!

Google
LA best Korean beef soup, came here on a rainy day looking for something hot and soup, their beef soup hits you right away with the great sweet taste and you can customize to your preference. The beef soup combo is well worth the price! And their spicy beef gal bi tastes amazing! A huge plus is parking is free no headache!

Google
This place is a gem! Their seolleongtang is hands down the best I’ve had—rich, deeply flavorful, and not greasy at all. It’s the kind of broth that warms you up from the inside out. The pork rib jjim is yammy, and the tteokgalbi has that perfect balance of smoky and savory. Plus, they sell seolleongtang pouches to take home at a great price—such a game changer for lazy days. Already planning my next visit!

Google
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BOILER is a hidden gem! Their sullungtang is rich, milky, and full of deep beefy flavor—perfectly comforting and well-balanced. The pork ribs were tender, flavorful, and fell right off the bone. Every dish was well-prepared, and the portions were generous. The service was just as great as the food—friendly, attentive, and quick. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and offered great recommendations. If you’re craving a hearty, authentic Korean meal, this is definitely the place to go. Highly recommend!

Google
Ox bone soup is great and all the meat dishes are tasty and Korean Tradition style BBQ. If you like Korean BBQ, this is the place you need to be. The Price is very reasonable. Ox Bone soup and BBQ mean combo is only $28. Check it out.

Google
Boiler is a new Korean Restaurant in Ktown. Looks like they specialize in SSul-Lung-Tang ( Long time boiled Beef and Beef bone soup ) and Some of meat dishes (Korean braised Dished) for sharing and drinking. Simular to Sun Nong Dan. Food 4.5 /5 I went by myself to eat SSul-Lung-Tang. The soup is better than Sun nong dan. about same as Yang Dong. Clean. and non MSG tasting ( some others use msg ) This is type of soup old Korean grandma's prefer. No nonse. I did not try the other dishes yet. Would be good for quick meal, Or Order those CheeseShort rib, and other meaty dishes for drinking nights with freiends. Holding 1 star for few more visits. **** 72 Hours **** The beef broth turn white when you boil the hell out of it in long time. Boiler claims they boils for 72 hours. The broth is clean and shows the long process. ****To-go**** They sell SSul-Lung-Tang and bone soup base ( hell~ hot pot) It's hard to find this in Ktown where they make the beef/bone broth and packed it in to-go pack. Parking 5/5 Private Free Parking. Ample Parking ( other business in the plaza are small businesses) No issues. Space 5/5 I didn't expect this, but this restaurant is brand new, and interior is clean. There is booths for groups, and Tables. Everything is new. table, chair, water bottle.. Interior is moden casual. Menu 4/5 Only have digital menu. I'm a Korean and I know how to navigate, but it can be a but confusing. Overall Food was good. Parking is easy. 72 hours boiled beef soup base is welcome. The restaurant is brand new. If you are sick of Sun Nong Dan's Crazy line and impossible parking, while getting better soup, and simular menu, This spot might hit the need. Good for day time meal, or night time drinking and with meat dishes.

Yelp
Food was really good! The seolleontang was hearty, the kind of soup that makes you happily sigh after just a sip. I was worried that the medium-sized galbi jjim would be small with just five pieces, but they gave us big chunks of tender meat that were delicious with their banchan and purple rice. Service was very good and attentive, and the space itself is clearly very clean and modern. It was pretty quiet when we went but it looked like the entire plaza may have been recently built. A decently large parking lot is right there which is a huge plus in LA.

Yelp
Pretty yummy! I got a seolleongtang and it was good. I took home my leftovers and the soup gelatinized in the fridge - that's how you know it's good! I also tried the tteokgalbi (I got the combo) and it was pretty disappointing. It was very sweet and tasted like a hamburger patty. Service here is fine. They have a doorbell system with a machine that you can order from. I don't really love the machine, I feel like it takes away from the restaurant experience but it's fine. Prices here are pretty expensive. There are gender specific restrooms.

Yelp
This place was SO good! The beef bone soup was very pure tasting and came with thinly sliced beef brisket that was surprisingly super tender despite being in a boiling hot soup. We ordered the tteokgalbi and galbi jjim sets with each came with a soup and rice. The galbi jjim was a non-spicy, soy version and it was AMAZING. Honestly the best I've ever had in Ktown. It was my first time trying tteokgalbi, which is like a Korean meat patty - super flavorful! I definitely recommend coming here for lunch before 2 PM for their lunch special pricing. Free parking.

Yelp
Really worth checking out. The combos are a very good value. I enjoyed the suyuk (boiled beef) and the cabbage pancake. They also have a good deal on Soju.

Kimha N.

Yelp
Would vote this restaurant the best. Authentic and delicious. Great service. Modern and detail oriented interior.

Yelp
I came at 5 pm and they had a lot of seating. They also have a pretty big parking lot, so it was easy to park. Overall, the restaurant is pretty new and clean. I got the seollungtang + galbi jjim combo. The galbi jjim comes with 2 pieces. It's very tender and sweet. I wish it came with some vegetables though. The seollungtang was good too. I like that it came with purple rice and that the noodles came in a separate bowl. The beef was very tender. I wish it came with a little more meat and noodles though.
google avatar

Shirley M.

Yelp
Came for dinner on a weekend and there was no wait. I got the seoleongtang with beef ribs. It didn't come with noodles but it was really filling. They gave us a bowl of scallions and it was plenty to share. I also tried the galbi jjim, which was very tender and flavorful. I liked that the rice they gave us was purple rice. The banchans were kimchi, pickled onion, and radish kimchi. It would've been better if there were more banchan options. I liked that there is a parking lot with plenty of open spaces. The restroom and dining area were very clean.

Yelp

Yelp
Popped in 45 minutes before closing on a chilly Wednesday night and ordered the beef rib sullungtang and galbijjim to share. Everything came out fast and piping hot. The owner took her time to explain that the bone broth was boiled for 3 days and sans MSG. I loved how clean the broth tasted. Added a few pinches of salt and it was perfect. The galbijjim was tender and flavorful. Quick and delicious meal!

Yelp
Highly Recommend This New Hidden Gem in Koreatown! I heard about this new restaurant in Koreatown through word of mouth and decided to check it out--and I'm so glad I did! The interior was spotless, and the staff was incredibly kind and attentive. We ordered the seolleongtang (ox bone soup), suyuk (boiled beef slices), yukgaejang (spicy beef soup), and galbijjim (braised short ribs). Every dish had a clean, rich flavor without any MSG, which made the meal feel both hearty and wholesome. "The boiled beef and braised short ribs I had with makgeolli were absolutely delicious." One of the highlights was the pumpkin fritters that the owner graciously offered on the house. Coated in glutinous rice flour, the fritters stayed perfectly crispy all the way through--an unexpected delight! We also took some yukgaejang to go, and honestly, it might just be the best in town. I'm already planning to come back with my entire family for our next meal. Highly, highly recommend!

Yelp
Amazing soups, good service. Will definitely come back when we are in town The owner brought us short ribs when he realized that the dish we order was sold out. Ambience is very modern and super new.

Yelp
Visited this newly opened restaurant with great satisfaction. The portion is generous. Found the combo is beat for its value. The Beef rib jjim was so tender and flavorful, the meat falls off from the bone easily. We originally wanted to order the cheese spicy pork rib jjim, however they sold out rather quickly. The owner is kind enough to give us whatever was left on the house for us to try, the meat is again very soft, the sauce is perfect with rice. I don't usually like seolleongtang but I fell in love with this one, u can taste the soup has been cooked with lots of beef bones for 3 days, highly recommended. You can place order via the iPad, which is very convenient if u want to add order at anytime. Quite important in KTown - FREE PARKING!!! It's a hassle looking for parking in KTown esp. on weekend. Free parking definitely adds a big advantage Reservation can be made via Yelp

Eunice J.

Yelp
This place beats some of the best seolleongtang places in Korea Town. Their lunch special prices are unbelievable!
google avatar

Jihyuk K.

Yelp
I liked that clean interior vibe here and seolleongtang here was on point! All other dishes are recommended. The server or owner that helped us were so nice and helpful! I'm sure coming back for their seolleongtang again!
google avatar

Yelp
I had my lunch yesterday at this restaurant. The restaurant looks brand new. All furniture, utensils, dishes, etc. were very clean and new. The design is nice. The food was amazing, tasted nice and fresh. The lady who served us was very nice and very welcoming. The menu is digital on a tablet, mounted on each table. The only thing that O can mention is the price. The food is a little pricier than other places. However, I'm gonna give 5 star still since the server attitude and service was excellent.

Yelp
We came for Mr. Bossam (closed for renovations) but discovered something even more amazing, Boiler! It seems to be a husband and wife team running the restaurant, so always happy to support local businesses. Portions are hearty with enough for leftovers. The food was so delicious and really hit the spot. Authentic Korean food, we ordered the yukdaejang and sullungtang with a side order of the galbijim. You can tell a lot of time and effort went into creating the broth for the sullungtang - the broth was a milky white and smelled like a rich bone broth. Along with our soups, they served a bowl of purple rice and banchan of Kimchi, Kimchi radish, and pickled onions. We were lucky to find parking in the plaza on a Friday night, but we did dine at 6pm. Definitely a favorite spot now and what a delightful surprise.

Yelp
Food is very good. We ordered both Seolleongtang Mix combos (one with SoTeokGalBi, the other with Soso galbijim) and we also tried the Cheese Spicy Pork Rib Jim and Bouller Beef Ribs Yukgaejang. They were out of the Cheese Spicy Pork Rib Jjim, so we changed our order to the Spicy Grilled Pork Jjim. The Seolleongtang was so full of beef flavor. Just a tiny amount of salt will help bring out the full flavor. The noodles on the side adds a nice touch. The Spicy Grilled Pork was saucy and a bit spicy, but it has a great balance of savory, sweet and spicy. The owners were very kind and brought out a few of the Cheese Spicy Pork Rib Jjim that they have left over. We are so glad to have a taste of those ribs as they were full of umami. The owners are super friendly and you can tell that they put their hearts into each dish and providing excellent service. Our group would definitely come back soon! P S. - I was so hungry that I forgot to take any pictures before we start eating, but am including a pic of the aftermath to proof how good everything was.

Yelp

Riley L.

Yelp
The best comfort food you could ask for. You know a restaurant is good when the kimchi is good. Seolleongtang, galbijjim, tteokgalbi were all amazing. I want this place to do well but also at the same time want to gate keep so it doesn't get packed like some other restaurants.. Such a dilemma lol
google avatar

Brian H.

Yelp
Owner is husband and wife. Very friendly, attentive and quick service. There's an order system at your table so that makes things super easy. Very very clean and modern. Food is DELICIOUS!
google avatar

Christina K.

Yelp
We came here for dinner and was amazed by the quality of food! We ordered sulleongtang and the broth was very clean and beefy. The waiter told us they take out all fat, and it was true indeed! The restaurant is very clean and neat. If you're looking for a food to warm your soul, this place will be your go-to!

Yelp
For meat lovers...check this place out! Meat is tender throughout. I ordered the Seolleongtang combo. Soup base is delicious. Service is outstanding!
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
Healthy, clean and delicious! Although they specialize in sullung tang, they offer other things on their menu like dduk galbi and galbi jjim. They don't seem to use much MSG and the taste is clean and refreshing. I recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Debbie W.

Yelp
Ingredients very fresh and the meat was great quality. The restaurant was really clean and has a nice set up. The owners were so friendly and gave great recommendations. Beef tongue was not on the menu but that can be added to your soup. Will definitely come back!
google avatar

Sam C.

Yelp
This place just opened up and is definitely worth a visit! Everything we tried was so good. The sulungtang was just as good as Hanbat and perfect for these cold nights. Staff is so friendly and on point. Will definitely be back! Highly recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
"Boiler Seolleongtang is so good! It's the best in K-town, LA, with beef bone broth boiled for 3 days! I love the owner and their crew as well!"

Man M.

Yelp
Would recommend to others though I would likely not return because it wasn't to my palate. Wonderfully kind and sweet family who own the shop. All the food seem to be of very high quality. There was attention to detail and technique with the preparation of the dishes. I had the spicy pork ribs and the soup with tendons. My impression was that it was done exactly the way it should have been done and would please those looking for these dishes. I had different expectations of the flavor profile. I took some of the ribs to go and they put it in a container with a vacuseal top. How nice is that!

Yelp
비오는날 왔는데 국물이랑 왕갈비육개장이 넘사벽이에요. 국물냄새 하나도 안나고 타운에서 오랜만에 이 추운날씨 땀흘리면서 먹었네요:) 또 올게요. I just came here with my friends and I love this restaurant and really deepest taste for the beef soup. It's amazing I will comeback soon!
google avatar

Christine K.

Yelp
Sooo good!! So clean and refreshing taste. Great portions and really nice people. We had yukgaejang and sullungtang. Taste like a super comfy home cooked meal.

Joo Wan P.

Yelp
Super underrated. One of the best sullang tang places. Get to know this place before it gets really popular.

Nina N.

Yelp
The food here is delicious, absolutely no notes! We ordered a seolleongtang and a medium galbijjim to share between 2 people. It was the perfect amount of food. The soup was so rich and tasty - as usual, you season it yourself with salt, pepper, and green onions. The meat was so tender and the noodles were soft and chewy. The galbijjim was definitely the standout dish though. The medium came with 5 pieces of meat, bell peppers, and some mushrooms. The meat was sooooo tender, juicy, and perfectly marbled. The sauce was also simple, but so good. Side dishes included lightly fried cabbage, kimchi, radish kimchi, chives kimchi, and fish cake. All were so yummy :-) You order on a tablet at the table, but the service is still attentive and nice! Restaurant is new, super clean, and cutely decorated. They also sell a lot of Stanley cups hahaha. There's also a large parking lot that is free! All in all, will be thinking of this meal for a long time. So sad I'm not local to enjoy it more often.

Joohyun S.

Yelp
I ordered seolleongtang combo and suyuk sampler between 2 people. It says they boil seolleongtang for 3 days and I can definitely taste so. It's very flavorful. I like how they have the combo so the seolleongtang comes with small portion of galbijjim. I would definitely order galbijjim next time. I enjoyed the suyuk too. If you are not too familiar suyuk and seolleongtang are pretty similar, seolleongtang is more soupy. The banchan and sauce are great too. I like how they really care about the quality of the ingredients.

Kevinjoeffre P.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place in a semi empty lot bc the business next door was closed. And I took a chance on it as I was craving meat and eating solo. The inside is modern, clean, expected for a new restaurant. This place is SO GOOD!!!! I ordered the Beef Ribs Yukgaejang and the meat just slid right off the bone. I was thinking I was done but I saw a small order of kalbijjim perfect for one person and just had to get it. I was blown away-- it was tender, a beautiful balance of sweet and savory, and not overly saucy like some other places I've had it at.
google avatar

Brian C.

Yelp
Boiler was AMAZING! We ordered the Cheese Spicy Pork Rib Jjim and it was perfectly made! I asked the friendly server if there was any chance they had Kimchi Fried Rice and they made it for us even though it wasnt on the menu. Such a great experience and I plan to go back soon! Give this place a chance! 감사합니다!~

Kyle Jeon

Yelp
I love this place! One of the best restaurants in town. You've got to come and try it! Also, the staff is really friendly.

D K.

Yelp
I went here for lunch and ordered the dduk galbi and sullung tang and it was just average. The dduk galbi tasted good, but was dry and the sullung tang was just basic. I went here because another reviewer compared the sullung tang to hanbat's and I was disappointed. The soup does not have the richness and depth of hanbat's sullung tang. The lot parking was easy and free during lunch time and the service was good. At the current price point, this isn't a place I would come back.

Loryn C.

Yelp
The food was amazing! We got the seolleongtang and cheese tteokgalbi, both were great in terms of meat quality and flavor. The service was great and the restaurant was very clean. The parking lot is easy to access as well, which is sometimes tricky at other places in Ktown. I definitely recommend this place if you're looking to try a new restaurant in the area!

Paul Y.

Yelp
Fire fire pants on fire. So delicious and nutritious. A+++ on service and pretty cool restaurant. Self-serve iPads on each table and the most sweetest waitress. Soup and the ribs off the chain. Love this place.

Jay L.

Yelp
Definitely hidden gem in K-town. Visiting LA, been to multiple Korean restaurants this place by far the best.

Esther J.

Yelp
Their food and service was absolutely amazing! Their ox knee soup was the best I've had in LA and frankly in America. The beef ribs seaolleongtang was also very good. We'll definitely be coming back!

Joyce L.

Yelp
great service, the workers were very nice and polite, delicious and weand great cozy environment! 10/10 would recommend! my favorite place.

Yiyoung C.

Yelp
This place is my new favorite restaurant in K-town!! Stumbled upon this newly opened restaurant and been back there twice already. We ordered sulungtang and galbijjim, and let me tell you, they are both phenomenal! The sulungtang was delicious and had absolutely no gamey aftertaste (which is always the issue with sulungtang for me) Just perfect. Galbijjim was also chef's kiss. It was super tender with great flavor. My 5 year old also loved all of it. Will definitely be returning soon to try out some of the other things on the menu.

Jamila J.

Yelp
I ordered for pickup and everything was delicious! My favorite dishes were the TteokGalbi and the Beef Rib Jjim. I got lost trying to find the restaurant and when I called they were so kind and kept my food nice and warm until I arrived. The ambiance of the restaurant looked nice so I look forward to dining in next time. I definitely recommend this place.

Hwanam J.

Yelp
The savory, light-boiled seolleontang cheese-covered short ribs, and flavorful galbijjim are simply outstanding. perfectly with each dish, adding a refreshing balance of flavors. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with attentive service that enhances the experience. Every bite was a delight, and I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Hyunjun Park ..

Yelp
Service was good but The price is too high for the amount of meat provided... ambiance was so clean and nice.

Angie C.

Yelp
Omg! This is now my favorite Seolleongtang place. The broth taste healthy and side dishes are so good. I highly recommend this restaurant if you have craves for Seolleongtang or braised beef ribs.
