I believe the relatively low rating for this restaurant is due to the number of one-star reviews left because they weren't actually an open business yet, or those mistakenly leaving reviews for another location. It's now open and it's really good.
As a vegetarian, the name of this restaurant didn't initially entice me toward it. But after doing a search and seeing the menu, I decided to try it and I'm so glad I did!
I went the day after its Grand Opening on a Sunday afternoon - it was busy. I ordered the veggie plate with the hummus (vice muttabal) and tabbouleh (vice fattoush) options. Despite the crowd, service was fast.
The falafel is made to order and I'm not sure I've ever had any other quite so good. The outside was wonderfully crisp with the delicious, soft inside. I dunked it in my hummus and it was gone in minute. Really delicious.
I had never had quinoa eech before - where has this been all my life?! It was incredibly savory, but not at all heavy. Delightful.
Each meal comes with a little side of pickled turnips. Really, surprisingly tasty. I didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did.
Since, as I mentioned, this is a new establishment, there were some small hiccups with the ordering process - asking if your order is here or to go, calling things out to the line, etc. I'm sure these will be worked out as they get their feet under them. Overall, this might be my new favorite vegetarian option in the Aliante area.
