Bold Bite Market

Obsessed with this place! I have several clients in the neighborhood and have always struggled to find a well-rounded casual lunch spot nice enough for meetings - no more! One of us can get a gluttonous smoked burger and the other can get a tasty fresh falafel sandwich or salad and everybody is happy. The staff has been warm and welcoming every time and I always leave with a dozen of their amazing donuts to take home.

The donuts were good, but there's a few fatal flaws I experienced: 1) I waited for a very long time for a bagel with cream cheese to come out. 15-20 minutes isn't bad, but it is when you are the second person in line and the place is mostly empty. It took me asking, and the bagel appeared 10 seconds later, meaning it was done but nobody had bothered to bring it out. This represents a line issue. During a busy breakfast or lunch crunch, don't be surprised if you don't get your food. 2) The process for making the bagels is not vegetarian-friendly. With most things, you should ask, but I'd normally feel safe assuming this about a bagel, since it would go in a toaster of some sort. They put it directly on the grill with the meats. Maybe a grilled bagel can be better, so it might be a cooking strategy, but I witness a piece of bacon land on my bagel, and them flip it aside casually as they continued.

The teller was very nice and welcoming, but definitely would not recommend the coffee. I ordered a dulce de leche latte that was tasteless. I kind of knew it would not be good, as it took the barista about 5-6 minutes to make the latte, and I was the only one there.Once I realized it was not good, the teller was kind enough to replace it with just plain coffee per my request, which I took to work and ended up throwing away, because it wasn't that great either. Definitely a waste of $6.99. The donut I had was decent (pumpkin spice). I frequent many of the coffee shops on L street weekly, but this is probably one I won't return to for coffee any time soon.

Breakfast food until 11:30; Delicious falafel burgers; gourmet donuts. Last thing standing are the shakes but I already give them a 5/5.

Great donuts! Plenty of tables, and the place has power outlets with USB ports to charge your devices. A nice place to stop by on a break.

One of the best caramel lattes. The food is good too.
