"Tucked down an alleyway next to a nine-story office building that’s been slowly rising on Front Street for the past two years (and probably won’t be completed for another two) Bolero, a traditional French brasserie, is easy to miss. But once you find the entrance and climb the stairs to the spacious second-floor dining room, with its oversized mirrors, brightly colored paintings, and vaulted ceilings with exposed wooden beams, your wandering notions will quickly be put to ease. This is where locals go to be wowed, and where Executive Chef Jonny Roberts dazzles them nightly with his take on Continental cuisine. There’s the shrimp pil pil, which comes bubbling in garlicky olive oil spiced with red chillies; crispy duck confit with celeriac remoulade and iberico ham; or rabbit pappardelle in a rich bacon, Dijon, and crème fraiche sauce.
