The 21 Best Restaurants In São Paulo 2024

"Feijoada, Brazil’s national dish, is a mix of black beans and pork—ribs, smoked sausage, and all the bits leftover from the butcher, including ears and snouts—slowly simmered until it’s thick, tender, and delicious. You can find a pretty decent option at most small restaurants and bars on Wednesdays or Saturdays. At Bolinha, though, it’s feijoada day every day. The restaurant has been packed with businessmen since it opened in 1946, so expect a busy lunch crowd. Get the feijoada with all the trimmings (rice, kale, pork scratchings, a slice of orange), eat as much as you can, and find somewhere suitable for a nap after." - tome morrissy swan

Google
I have gone to about 5 or 6, the quality in São Paulo is usually always good for their traditional places. This place makes an effort to take that to a good level, but with that said , 200 reals per person and 40 for parking definitely not going back. Great job but well I guess since they have been open for 70 years that means they can charge 3x. Or maybe I got a foreigner price which if true that would be sad.

This is a traditional place in the city of São Paulo to eat a good feijoada. The feijoada has a good variety of meats and the portion size is just right, and the service is very good. I recommend that any foreigner who comes to São Paulo visit this restaurant and taste traditional Brazilian food.

Google
Got to restaurant quite late, as they close at 19h30, but the staff were very kind and served me anyway. Classic feijoada meal, feel I'm now well placed to "judge" any other compared to this experience. Only managed about a quarter of the serving, as with all the accompaniments (including two grilled pork chops!!!) it's an intimidating thing.

Google
One of the best feijoadas I’ve ever had. We ordered a lean version, and it came with plenty of meat, beans, rice, and kale. The place is spacious and has a very Brazilian atmosphere. Highly recommended for experiencing a truly great local dish.

Google
Traditional and historic restaurant of São Paulo to eat Fejoada, which is the tradicional dish of Brazil! Excellent service and quality dishes. Strongly recommend it!

Google
A amazing place to get feijoada, and unlike most places they serve it everyday. The higher price doesn't get you better food, so if you're just hungry the city is full of much cheaper options. But if you're looking for great food with a bit of a fancier dining experience (date, special occasion, etc) you won't find a better place. The decor is classy and the staff really elevate the experience. Not what you necessarily want to do everytime, but was definitely worth the price.

Google
This is my first time having feijoada and Bolinha knocked it out of the park for me. They served an amuse of sorts when I arrived, a tiny cup of ..i think the thick broth left over from cooking the beans. It also happened to be a somewhat cold evening so that really hit the spot. It was rich, creamy, savory and utterly delicious. The waiters didn't speak English, so it was all Google translate and hand gestures. But everyone comes for the one thing... Except i should have asked them to just give me the classic. They brought out everything.. Which was tooo much. But the cabbage was delicious, the feijoada of course was amazing. So hearty. Love it.

Yelp
France has Cassoulet. Brazil double dog dares with Fejoada (fay-zzzhwa-dah). I asked the hotel receptionist where to go for Fejoada. She pointed me to Bolinha. It is the weekend and the ubiquitous Brazilian dish is their signature buffet. So everything came to the table! The 10 cuts of meat include bacon, pork chop, oxtail, pig ear, beef tongue, linguica, brisket, ham hock, and pork knuckles. The broth is brimming with collagen--so they offer salsa, hot sauce, and fresh orange slices to resuscitate your palette. Thicken the broth with toasted nut flour if you wish. There's fried sweet banana and yucca, pork rinds and crispy bacon on the side, perfect rice and shredded collard greens. Assuage your guilt with shots of house caipirinha. Think a sweeter margarita on the rocks... The very patient and sweet maitre'd offered me dessert. He's thinks he is so funny! While I have no reference to compare this example to others as it was my first taste of Fejoada, the standard is set immensely high. Not cheap at R150 total bill ($40). But this memory has been seared indelibly into my food coma'd brain. And now I understand why they have such a light dinner. Time for a siesta to recover. !!! Bring a translator (Google translate is pretty good) if you don't speak Portuguese. Inhouse WiFi available.

Yelp
As my notes exclaim, "delicious feijoada!" I wish we could speak more (any) Portuguese so we knew what to say and how to act here. I'm certain there were some things lost in translation. But luckily that didn't include the food which spoke for itself. So I gather we could've had as much feijoada as we wanted. But unfortunately we had to tap out after the second bowl. But what we experienced here was pretty glorious. In fact, as I type, and think about walking out into the frigid NYC air for lunch, I wish I had some right now. If I had one complaint- there was a loud, boisterous, and drunken party at a table near us. I noted that the most inebriated of the afternoon revelers actually began to, good-naturedly, accost a non-affiliated customer at a nearby table while the waitstaff observed nervously nearby. I could tell the staff was contemplating stepping in but didn't want to upend the good times because they were drinking (and spending) so much. Just mentioning this because, for us, what was interesting theater could've quickly turned into an international incident if the drunk had similarly accosted anyone at our table. Just saying... Still the feijoada is top notch here...

Yelp
This place was great...highly recommended and a favorite to locals and tourists. This is definitely a nicer experience than what you'd expect for a place that specializes in feijoada - dressed-up waiters, white table cloth, etc. We were greeted with aperitif and appetizers. The feijoada was incredible - savory, rich and delicious. One can select from a few versions (typical, lean, kosher) - I went with the lean since I wanted to really enjoy the meat rather than the fat. They give you a huge serving...honestly, one bowl is more than enough for two people. I can't believe they actually offer all-you-can-eat! If you're not into feijoada, they do have other options - my partner had lasagna that was very good and also arrived as a huge portion. We had excellent service and this helped create a memorable experience. I totally recommend this spot!

Yelp
wow, what an experience! Their feijoada was perfection! I wish they had a location in Los Angeles. I'll miss this place. E a Caipirinha divina.

Yelp
Everything you know about feijoada... Forget about it. Feijoada at Bolinha is definitely a superb experience like never before, at least for feijoada, the place, decor, wait staff, food quality, everything sums up resulting in a cultural experience. I was a bit hesitant in going to Bolinha on a weekday, and especially for dinner, also questions like food freshness since their ads show pictures of their all you can eat setup and kept wondering if during weekday this setup would be available or if it was going to be a la carte. I shouldn't have worried that much! Restaurant was empty when we got there at 9pm for dinner, we were really well served, wait staff extremely polite, attentive, and explained how feijoada was served on weekdays. Started with a basket of freshly baked pão de queijo and an assortment of breads, garlic butter, butter, annnnnnnnd batida de limão (like limoncello but made of limes, cachaça, and sugar), served in shot glasses, but even that was part of the all you can eat experience! Then the parade started... Bolinho de carne seca e mandioca (yucca massa filled with salted beef), pork rinds, fried yucca, everything was freshly made, then couple of feijoada kettles (lean version, ten kinds of pork cuts, from lean loin to smoked sausages), rice, collard greens, fried yucca, crispy bacon, grilled pork chop, orange slices. Would go back there anytime! Although probably not for dinner, it was a bit heavy even though we'd ordered the lean version of it. But amazing feijoada, best feijoada you'll ever have, their wait staff is amazing! Oh, valet is available at the door if I'm not mistaken, but it's easy, super easy finding a spot on the street.

Yelp
Feijoada is a Brazilian dish of various meats(pork sausage and beef as well as beef tongue and other parts) with black beans served in a stew with rice and greens on the side. Bolinha serves feijoada in 3 options: traditional, light and kosher . The traditional and light come with a grilled pork chop and fried banana and fried yuca and fried pork skins. We went in a group of 17 and made a reservation although they weren't crowded probably because it was a weekday and a holiday here in São Paulo. We chose the light version which comes with pork sausage, beef tongue, pork chop and beef. We were given an appetizer of black bean soup in a ceramic cup and fried yuca with fried pork rinds and bacon. Delicious!!! The main attraction is the feijoada. It comes in a large ceramic pot bubbling hot! You layer the rice then feijoada on your plate and top it with farofa which is like a crunchy bread crumb topping made from manioc flour. On the side put your greens and the waiter will bring fried banana, grilled pork chop and grilled sausage. They serve Caipirinha as the drink to accompany the meal. This spot is great for tourists wanting an authentic dining experience in Brazil.

Yelp
I really enjoyed going here. The wait staff was great and explained everything there was to sample. I had the Feijoada light. What I got was enough to feed two people so come very hungry or share with someone. The star of the show, however, was the black bean soup you drink from a little cup. For dessert they brought me a plate of mango and some limes.

Yelp
Outstanding feijoada! This place breathes authenticity and as I understand it's been around for like 70 years so they have mastered the feijoada. It's located in a nice area of Sao Paulo. We ordered the "light" feijoada which comes with pork sausage, bacon, ribs, sun dried meat (beef jerky) and I think one other item. The traditional feijoada has pork feet, tongue, and other pork parts that I'm not at all likely to try and it seems like most prefer the "light version". All the sides are fantastic and come with the feijoada - white rice, collard greens, sausage, breaded fried banana and some others. This is a must-try for foreigners and Brazilians. Get ready to spend about $160 reais per person, but trust me -- it's totally worth it. They have a ladies night, every day of the week after 7:00pm women eat free!

Yelp
I was looking for some traditional Brazilian food places and this came up as one of the top rated restaurant around Sao Paulo. Boy were the reviewers right! Great tasting feijoada and a lot of sidedishes with Caipirinha to boot.
