"Helmed by veteran chef Troy MacLarty (formerly of Berkeley’s Chez Panisse and Portland’s Ned Ludd), Bollywood Theater is a go-to for fragrantly spiced street-style food MacLarty discovered during his explorations in India—dishes like savory lamb samosas and rich, creamy curries. The original restaurant on Alberta in Northeast Portland, spacious and decked out with Indian imagery (including a projector for screening Bollywood films), has a fast-casual vibe: order at the counter, get a number, choose your seat. The location on Southeast Division, an even larger space with an open-concept kitchen, also features a retail market stocked with dry goods, fresh spices, rice, ghee, and more. "

11 Places to Find Charming Chai Lattes in Portland - Eater Portland

"The longstanding location for Indian street food in Portland unsurprisingly serves a great glass of chai. Bollywood’s masala chai mix is imported from Kannur, Kerala, India and sent to the restaurant whole. The blend was is custom-made for Bollywood Theater, so the restaurant’s chai is truly available nowhere else. The masala chai can be served hot or cold, and the gingery flavor complements the full range of Bollywood Theater’s menu." - Nick Townsend

Bollywood Theater NE - Review - Alberta - Portland, OR - The Infatuation

"Bollywood Theater in Alberta is an excellent Indian restaurant that serves a mix of classic curries, along with regional street food dishes and thali meals. The entire menu is great, but we like to start with some of the street food dishes, like the kati roll and dahi papri chaat, before splitting some small plates and one of the thali sets. Combined with the Indian-influenced cocktails and laid-back feel, this is a great spot for a casual dinner or to start a night out exploring the Alberta Arts District. photo credit: Alan Weiner" - Penelope Bass

This is Indian food for a hipster American audience. I was very disappointed with the food. We ordered lamb samosas ($14) and the chicken tikka bowl. ($17) Don't get me wrong the food was tasty and had a good assortment of textures. But the portions were ridiculously small for the price. Other reviewers mentioned this but I didn't think it would be THIS small. And like other reviews have said it isn't an authentic representation of any Indian food I've had before. I think it is more "Indian inspired" than actual Indian cuisine. All in all I wouldnt eat there again if only because of the price. Both the quantity and quality of the dish did not meet the value of the cost. I do not recommend eating here. *Phone included for size reference. It is approximately 6 in L

Honestly. Terrible food. Service was sub par. Lady washing dishes was rude. She tried to tell me I was given a number when I clearly wasn’t. I think I would know if someone gave me a number for the table? Drinks were the best part. Food is far from authentic. Curry and everything is runny, not flavorful and sour. I Took family here for a special occasion. Was embarrassed cause the food was so bad and mix that with the service it’s not worth the money.!You have to buss your own table, order at the front and get your own water etc + they have the nerve to ask for a tip. Would not recommend. Far from authentic food. If you’re after authentic food and good service this is not where you should be looking.

Love this place! Well-prepared meals. Fresh ingredients. Food comes out fast. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Super friendly staff.

I walked into the restaurant and waited patiently at the door for somebody to see me. And the waiter came over and asked if he could help me. I told him a table for one. He said oh sorry I need to explain to you how it's worked. There was a cart off to the side that had menus. He handed them to me. And told me I could sit wherever I want it. And then told me that I had to come up to the counter and order what I was ready. Might have to say that the waiter was very pleasant and polite. I then went up to the counter and placed my order. And then I was asked to pre-pay for my meal and selected option from the screen that was presented to me. I'm not a big fan of a restaurant that asked you to print it before you get your service. How do you know how well to tip? My food arrived within a reasonable amount of time. Once again, the waiter was very nice and polite. I ordered the Paneer Makhani. As you can see from my photo, the portion was probably half the size of any other Indian restaurant or maybe even less. It is about as tasty as an Indian microwave dinner you would get at Safeway. At no point did anybody ever come to check on me and asked me if I needed anything else or how my meal was. I will say that the atmosphere and the decorating were top-notch. Even though they didn't look anything like an Indian food restaurant. Except for maybe the restroom. I'm curious why there was a TV in the restroom. But it was cool.

Google
If you’re expecting good Indian food, this probably isn’t the place for you. Flavors are blander than your generic Indian food. More Americanized fusion version of Indian food. Most of the flavor probably comes from Mint chutney. Slightly expensive for my taste. That said, it is good flavorful food, just not typical Indian flavors. Nice ambience and a good collection of memorabilia from back home.

We recently dined at Bollywood Theater and really enjoyed the food! The dishes were packed with authentic flavours. The ambiance was casual yet vibrant, and it felt like a great place to unwind over a meal. If you’re looking for a laid-back dining experience with delicious Indian street food, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Google
A great twist to Indian street food, Bollywood theater really serves up delicious Indian foods. One of the best chicken curries I’ve had in a while. Their twist, it’s cooked with coconut milk, giving the curry a hint of sweetness and making the curry a bit creamier. The chicken tikka bowl was another one of my favorites. The heartiness of the rice with grilled chicken along with curry chickpeas, makes this dish a very filling meal. Of course love the decor and interiors.

Yelp
Great tasting food, decent portions and fast service. Really loved the maximalist decor and overall vibe.

Yelp
Overall: I would not eat here again, but I could finish a meal and I wouldn't tell people to actively avoid it. Atmosphere: the design and aesthetic of the restaurant was beautiful, laid back, and artfully done. I love that you order at the counter and then food is brought to your table when ready. To me this gives a very laid back vibe which I enjoy Food: the food was a let down and lacked significant flavor. The food was overly sauced to compensate for the lack of flavor in the dishes itself. I was shocked given how highly rated this place is, but it didn't pack the punch I was expecting. ~~~~~~ The following information does not impact the over all rating but is provided for those who are interested: There are three single use gender neutral bathrooms.

Yelp
This place offers a unique and enjoyable dining experience. The food is flavorful but not overly spicy, making it a great choice for those who are sensitive to heat. The staff is also really great. While I personally might not visit again, I encourage everyone to give it a try before making a decision. The portion sizes are small, but the food quality is consistent, as mentioned in other reviews.

Yelp
Came here a little after 6pm on a Saturday night. There were still quite a few tables available and we didn't have to wait long to order. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food to you. Ordered the pav bhaji and the chicken curry thali. This was for two people to share and I just wished we had an extra rice or paratha too and it would have been perfect. Everything was very flavorful and I loved trying all the different components of the thali. Loved the atmosphere and food, will come back next time I'm craving Indian food
google avatar

Varsh P.

Yelp
Came here on a Saturday evening around 6:30. There was no wait but after that there was a long line of people. Plan in advance to wait . We ordered thali and ginger lime soda. Thali was delicious. Simple yet comforting food. Comes with a salad, raitha, chutney, paratha, sambar , paneer curry and rice. Clean space and quick service.

Yelp
I had an ok experience at Bollywood theater. The vibe was great but the food was just ok. Our order took a long time to come out too. I got the vada pav and the paneer makhani, both were ok but not super amazing. The Kati roll was also just ok, it was kinda empty and kept falling apart. My favorite was the fried cauliflower special, it was pretty good and had a nice sauce. The interior was the coolest part of this restaurant. It was fun to watch the Bollywood movies in the background. Overall, I probably wouldn't come back here but glad I gave it a shot.
google avatar

Sai Geetha K.

Yelp
10/10 for ambiance- they nailed the Indian vibe. Iced chai was good and refreshing. For mains, we ordered Kati roll and Thali meals. Kati roll was flavorful but lacked an Indian touch to it. Most of the thali was just ok, but pork vindaloo was an utter letdown. Unable to comprehend the large boneless, flavorless chunks of meat in a bland, watery gravy. Given how much they worked on the outlook, they could do a lot better with the food.
google avatar

Niveditha S.

Yelp
So typically this isn't a type of restaurant I would like. I definitely prefer Indian restaurants that are closer to home food rather than the Indo American fusion food, but this one surprised me a lot! We got the paneer tikka bowl which was very delicious. We got a paneer makhani thali meal as well. The bhel puri was good, and we got the pav bhaji which was also good. I think the tikka bowl and thali were the best most value for money dishes. The decor was really something that got me. It was very nostalgic, we got to walk through the Indian store area which is rather expensive compared to most regular Indian stores. The service was however a little slow. For this kind of food, I typically prefer sit down meals as these involve walking a lot to get food but that's just a personal preference. Go here if you're in the PDX area.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed Bollywood Theater! I personally love south Indian food so maybe I'm partial. The food took a while to get out and the sides for the thali were a bit bland. I assumed that they would add a bit of spice but I think you might need to request it. I would go back for the kathi roll

Yelp
Really good Indian street food! We tried several of the dishes here to see if the hype was real and most of the dishes were very delicious! The service was decent and the ambiance was very cool as well. See the breakdown per dish below: 5/5 - Grilled Paneer Bowl: marinated paneer skewered and grilled, served with rice, sambar, chole, raita, green curry, and garnished with spiced nuts. This was by far the most flavorful and amazing dish, especially if you're getting a little bit of all the ingredients in every bite. 10/10, would recommend! 4.5/5 - Kati Roll: marinated paneer or chicken, egg, onion and green chutney, rolled in a paratha. Very good flavors, a little heavy on the green chutney, but definitely the best appetizer. 4/5 - Paneer Thali Meal: a good taste of everything, a little pricey (~$25), but good if you want to sample a lot of the sides, but only want to try one item. 3.5/5 - Vada Pav: kind of like a spiced patato slider. Decent taste, but nothing super unique about it, not a bad appetizer, on the smaller side. 2/5 - Paneer Makhani Plate: house made paneer in a rich tomato cream and cashew curry, served with spiced rice. Sadly there was nothing spicy or even flavorful about this dish, shocking compared to the rest of the food. Not well made, this is a very popular dish at most Indian restaurants. Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Ambiance: 5/5 Value: 3/5 Overall: 4/5

Yelp
Ordered from Bollywood Theater , the place we were living at was about a minute's drive from this place. I would rate it at 3 stars, we ordered Chicken Kati Rolls which had wayyyyy too much raw cabbage in it for my liking. The pav bhaji was decent but again lacked the authenticity of what a true pav should look and taste like. The paneer and South Indian chicken curry were not good. Especially with the south Indian chicken curry, I didn't like the musty, old after taste of the chicken. Ordering online was easy, but overpriced especially as I was expecting it to be the more authentic Indian snack place.

Yelp
The place has a really cute vibe. The decor is rustic yet pretty. We ordered the following at the counter : Vada Pav : 3/5. This was pretty good. The only thing we didn't like was that it was slathered in sauces which made it quite soggy by the time we got to it. Okra - 5/5. We almost didn't order this. But this was the best dish among everything we tried. It was perfectly spiced and so crispy. Enjoyed the yogurt dip it came with. Paneer Kathi Roll - 2/5. Can definitely skip this one. It was as just too much paneer. Nothing stood out. Pav bhaji - 3/5. It was good. Nothing notable. Tasted like a good home cooked meal.

Yelp
My daughter brought me here for dinner about 3 days ago. We ordered the following: deep fried cauliflower, Gobi Manchurian. It was OK. Ordered a cocktail The Don. So sweet it was like drinking syrup. could not finish. Grilled Tikka Bowls. 1 Paneer- so so 1 Chicken.-so so The bowls were very small with berthing packed in and unable to actually distinguish items. The "green chutney" was at the bottom under the rice. There must have been 50+ peanuts on top of the chickpeas. Chicken kebab was overcooked and dry. All the items were piled on top of each other, difficult to ear without it spilling out of the bowl. Unappetizing and messy. South Indian Chicken Curry: Leg/Thigh piece served on a plate we decided to take it home for next day. Went to heat up and found that it was basically raw. Very bloody. Had to toss. All in all a disappointing meal. I don't think we will be back.

Yelp
This is a very disappointing visit to Bollywood, we used to love coming here and even waited an hour for them to open up so that we could have a meal. It was absolutely disappointing, they did not have a lamb, samosas, and the chicken dish that we ordered came undercooked. Even the rice was subpar. The price was over $75 for two people. (Including tip.) for one appetizer and only soft tricks, no beer wine. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back here even though we used to come specifically to this area for Bollywood
google avatar

Yelp
We came in on a Saturday around 7 pm. There were about two parties ahead but it's a cafe style , order and then take a seat set up. Therefore the service was very limited, they only drop off your food and bus, but you order and grab your own water/dishes. The food although is great isn't very authentic- we tried the chicken curry, lamb vindaloo, pav bhaji, daal, and parantha. They have only wine & spirits along side nonalcoholic bev options. Vibe is cool and the area is clean with other eateries nearby

Yelp
Always amazing food. Sad to see some of my favorites no longer on the menu, but the items still there are outstanding!!

Yelp
A favorite on Alberta and a MUST for anyone visiting Portland. Go out of your way to eat at either location (NE Alberta or SE Division). The space is so fun and has cool decor yet it's cozy and intimate. The staff is always great and very helpful. Go to orders: Kati Roll with chicken Thali meal Pork vindaloo Chai - they give one refill too! They have a small but mighty tap list as well as some good canned beer and wine options. Pro tip: both locations are near Salt & Straw locations so it's an easy pairing for anyone looking for a classic go-to PDX foodie night.

Yelp
It's possible I'm judging too harshly but I just expected so much better. There were highlights and lowlights. I'm not blaming the third party apps but finding the correct menu and attempting to order (we tried their website first) is challenging. The beets were amazing. Great spices and lots of fun. I feel this is also even better in person. It's probably a south/north thing but I didn't care for their version of bread. Kind of like a tortilla. I got the pork vindaloo. It was yummy and porky but this is Indian food not bbq. I wanted much more depth of flavor in the sauce. Basically the last bites were the best because they had the most goodness but the flavor does t really get into the pork. My wife got the paneer tikka bowl. Again the sauce had spice but that was it. The flavor was t very deep and I've had much better tikkas. One thing I was not happy about was the very haphazard nut declarations on the menu. It had peanuts cashews and almonds. Happy not mentioned cashews on the menu. My wife is allergic to almonds so eating was an adventure. Overall I've had better Indian. I'm actually sure this is a far better in person experience as I've heard.
google avatar

Sara A.

Yelp
I would give this restaurant a 5-start rating but the portion sizes are so tiny. Just don't expect to get full unless you order multiple dishes. The ambiance is killer, it's decorated so beautifully and there are Bollywood movies playing on the tv's. The service was good, and the restaurant was clean. The flavors are almost authentic, just a bit less aromatic in comparison to more traditional Indian fare. It's definitely a fun place to bring people for a night out. Pro Tip: If you are hungry, ask the server about portion sizes prior to ordering.

Paul D.

Yelp
All the food was great but the beets are especially wonderful. I found a recipe for their beets in a Portland cookbook. Since I live a thousand miles away, I'm going to make that recipe lots of times. But the original at Bollywood Theater is better than what I've been able to create with the recipe.

Yelp
**vegetarian review ** I love the interior at this place. Everything is so quirky and Cute. I got the chai (!!), vada Pav and Pav bhaji. All three are so delicious. Personally I prefer lighter buns but these were well cooked with lots of butter. The service was faster And it's well priced. We ended up getting a third plate of Pav bhaji cause it's so good!! Also chai has free refill
google avatar

Chris A.

Yelp
This review is kinda tough - I am all for a place that really does its best to do cultural cuisine justice. The three stars is for the food, which is quite delicious. I will say the options and twist on traditional Indian dishes is really both flavorful and invigorating. The food also sits heavy, so be mindful of how much your order or rather what you order. I am taking a star away because the space itself is aesthetically pleasing and has a lot of cultural relics to Indian culture. However, the space and narrative of the establishment is one that's kind of a sense of appropriation. Although there is a sense of appreciation for Indian culture, I am wondering what this place doing to show support for the community rather than profit off of it. Considering bringing Indian voices to the space since it is calling itself a theater. Holding space for the Portland Indian community with. Just a Q BIPOC food review critic sharing their thoughts!

Yelp
Awesome food and more filling than it looked at first. Tons of variety in the menu. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
AMAZING FOOOD!!! Loved the Vada Pav and Pav Bhaji. Authentic but priced very high. I make these dishes at home but it's nice to see a restaurant who put a lot of details into appreciating Indian Mumbai street food.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and delicious food. We always recommend Bollywood Theater when our friends visit Portland!
google avatar

Yelp
The flavors of these dishes were immaculate. The vada pav is a potato dumpling that's dipped in chickpea batter, fried, and then served on a roll with delicious chutney. The South Indian chicken curry was creamy yet light and perfectly accompanied with an overly spiced rice. Of course I couldn't forget the mango lassi to compliment the flavor explosion going on.

Yelp
Don't fall for the harsh(er) reviews on here. Bollywood theatre is good for many reasons. I'd list some below: 1. Parking (plenty) 2. Interior is huge and open and cute 3. Small menu but packs a punch 4. Friendly staff 5. The food Yea, the food. I ordered the paneer thali. I could smell the ghee on the paratha as my food was being served to me. Everything was great. They even had real raita. Not just yogurt. Actual raita. They have a small cocktail menu and offer beer and wine. You order up front then find a seat. You grab your own glasses and water carafes and some chutney and Thai chilli peppers and voila. Enjoy. The Thai chilli peppers made me so happy. I grew up crunching on those with my food so having that here was amazing. The overall vibe is very nice. The service was great. Some reviews mentioned lack of Indian people behind in the kitchen or even in the patrons. Don't let that misguide you. The cooks know how to cook. I will be returning for sure.
google avatar

Sean R.

Yelp
Not bad, but not my favorite. Their menu is pretty limited, with just 3 choices (chicken curry, pork vindaloo or paneer). I've tried the Pork Vindaloo and South Indian Chicken Curry. The pork in the vindaloo was tender and was a lot of pork, but fairly one note. The vindaloo itself was very tame with not a lot of depth of flavor and no heat. Basically the same thing can be said about the chicken curry. Also not served with rice. I did really enjoy the Vada Pav tho, great presentation and I like both of the sauces they drizzle on each half. The food alone is 3 stars but an extra star because the space is pretty cool and they play entertaining Bollywood movies on the wall.

Yelp
A fun spot for Indian eats in the Alberta arts district! We stopped by for some snacks on a Saturday afternoon and it was super easy to order with all the COVID precautions. They have a system from their website and you can seat yourself at any of the tables they have outside. The dining area is super cute and the food good too! Bhel Puri -- a classic done right! I loved that they separated the chutneys from the puffed rice, so it wasn't soggy by the time it came to the table. We added some Raita into here and it was super tasty too. Kati Rolls -- we got the paneer version of this roll with pickled onion and cilantro chutney! If you're not a fan of pickled things, I'd steer clear of this because it definitely has a strong taste but I personally liked it. The paneer was super yummy and the paratha too!

Yelp
Not authentic at all. Service was okay. Ambiance was the only great thing about this place. I know I walked in an hour before close but still ..

Yelp
This place is awesome. The area / neighborhood is cute and this place is extra cute. Delicious, flavorful & unique Indian food. Perfect portion size. We loved everything we ordered. Pav Bhaji really amazed us by the great flavors. There is a mixture of potatoes, vegetables, tomatoes and spices. Served with buttered rolls and lemon. Vegetarian. Very unique and good for one person to eat as an entree or 4 people to share. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are looking for a restaurant to try in Portland.

Yelp
Visited Bollywood Theater once again during covid after a couple of years.. we were literally craving their food and were disappointed during our visit for multiple reasons - we felt their quality has reduced on certain dishes and secondly even though they have outdoor seating nobody is sanitizing the tables between customers (i personally did not appreciate this casual behavior during a pandemic).. we ordered our standard vada pav (this was excellent and one of the reasons for the high rating) and their chicken kathi roll (this was disappointing. I barely got 2-3 pieces of chicken in my entire kathi roll the rest of it was stuffed with the slaw and the chicken pieces lacked flavors.. years ago we had their lamb kathi roll and those kathi rolls were to die for trust me but not any more).. Due to covid, you have to order online, pickup ur order and sit at one of the tables outside or take it home! Service was good and quick.. quality is a concern since i dint get what I was craving for.. i miss my pre-covid bollywood theater!

Yelp
Always so solid, flavorful and reliably delicious. I love the "fast casual" aspect of their business model but the food is far more complex and thoughtful than that. I always get a thali with sag paneer because it comes with dal that is velvety goodness. The Bhel Puri is not to be missed. The description sounds like an odd combo but trust me it's an appetizer that could be a meal. The fried julienned okra is like French fries but better. Honestly you can't go wrong. And judging by the number of Indian patrons I usually see there i don't think it's just me that thinks so.

Yelp
We had tried to find an Indian restaurant earlier in the week (on Tuesday evening, IIRC). However, I gave up after a while, as all the ones within a reasonable distance from our hotel were either closed for the day, closed permanently, or were a food truck. It was odd. Fast forward to Friday. I had done more research and we were staying at a different hotel. We drove here around 5:45 p.m. for dinner. There was only street parking available. This almost resulted in us getting boxed in later, but the guy parked just ahead of us happened to come back and was nice enough to move up a bit. The restaurant was located in what everyone in our party agreed was a hipster-centric area. We arrived during a brief lull, so we didn't have to wait long. You order at the counter from a small paper menu. They had a mix of 'street food' and a few more standard Indian restaurant dishes. We got 2 dishes to split among 3 people, along with rice, their slightly different naan, and a small samosa appetizer. You pour your own water from carafes. Also, you can get a beer or wine, but if you want another one, you need to go back into the line. The food came out reasonably soon. Everyone enjoyed the meal and we managed to finish everything. The food was tasty. Overall, it wasn't exactly the Indian restaurant experience I was expecting, but at least it was different (and not in a bad way). They also had some patio seating in a roofed-but-open area to the side of the restaurant, I think.

Yelp
Came for dinner and ordered the vada pav, South Indian chicken curry, and the pork vindaloo thali meal. I wasn't a big fan of the vada pav. Not exactly what I expected, considering that the description called it a dumpling. It was basically a potato burger. The thali meal was really good. Loved the dipping sauces. My favorite dish was the chicken curry. Great flavor and the chicken was tender.

Yelp
What an amazing experience. A bit different than what I expected to be but a pleasant place for dinner or lunch. Loved how there was a variety of food options provided both vegetarian and meat friendly. Staff was super nice and helped or assisted us with what to order as first timers. Definitely order the beet salad, most memorable dish.

Yelp
Was a little disappointed in my 30 dollar lunch Two small pieces of curry chicken and a scoop of rice . Was spendy for what it actually was.:(

Yelp
Great vibes, delicious Vada Pav. Best I've had and highly recommend!! Must try when visiting portland.

Yelp
Decent food but very small quantity. I did a take out order for Pau Bhaji and it had 2 pcs of bread (pau) but the quantity of bhaji as disappointing. It was less than a snack size in my opinion. BUT, taste was good. Parking was a nightmare even on a weekday evening. I would go back to this place for the taste and ambiance.

Yelp
Had a delightful dinner and long conversation here tonight. We enjoyed the beets, dall, chicken curry, and pork. Gorgeous collection of food came out quickly and was a treat for all the senses. Atmosphere was so warm and relaxing, it was easy to enjoy our food and our time together. What a delightful place! It's now on my short list of PDX faves. :)

Yelp
Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji and Mango Lassi are good. Paneer Kathi Roll as take-out did not carry very well. Maybe eating it at the restaurant would be better. Chai is milkier than what I'm used to but overall decent taste-wise. They do have a thali that seemed to include a wide variety of dishes, for anyone with the appetite to stomach everything. All in all a pretty good option for Indian food when you are in Portland
google avatar

Rajiv V.

Yelp
Having born & brought in MumbaI, India I must say this is the worst Indian food I ever had in my life. we had Pav Bhaji, Thali, Paneer Kati roll & none of the items were near the authentic Indian taste that people from India are used to. Looks like the entire staff is non-Indian including the cooks which explains the taste. If I could score zero then I would have done that. Beware to future diners unl you want to waste your money & get bad taste about Indian taste. I feel sorry for the non-Indian diners who eat at this restaurant as they don't know what authentic Indian food tastes like.

Yelp
Food: We got the pork vindaloo which was good as was the vada pav. I loved the Paneer Kathi roll the best, it was amazing and my reason to give out 4 stars. Service: We got seated fast at a pretty crowded time of the day. The food came in hot and fast. In-all: This place doe snot serve the best Indian-Fusion food out there but definitely the vibe of the place is good. It might not tempt me to return on my next visit to Portland.

Yelp
Delicious, affordable, friendly staff. The drinks are great, and I really love the Kati rolls.

Yelp
I already wrote a review. Both people and food were great. We enjoyed the set up and very comfortable hanging out with family. Everything we tried how great taste. And, the staff were most helpful and accommodating.

Yelp
So. Good. Everything was delicious. Spices were very fresh and spot on. The roasted beet salad was one highlight. Loved the ambiance and the "special" bathroom -- I won't spoil the surprise -- check it out for yourself!

Yelp
I'm a little surprised I haven't written a review as I've been here (and the Division location) countless times. It's one of those places where I know and don't care if it's not "authentic." My go to is the Vada Pav and ginger-lime soda. It's a order at the counter before taking a seat kinda place. However, they do clear your plates which was surprisingly un-Portland. Love the condiments and service is usually friendly.

Yelp
We came by here as we were passing through Portland. The overall ambience of the restaurant was great! It was really interesting looking around at the different signs and decor as we were waiting for our food. We ordered a Vada Pav, Pav Bhaji, Chole and Paratha, Bhel Puri, Gobi Manchurian, a Mango Lassi, and a Ginger-Lime Soda. The food wasn't that great. The mango lassi tasted more like yogurt than mango flavoring. The food was bland and lacked what flavorful Indian food actually tastes like. I felt like this place wasn't worth the money or the hype when it came to the food.
