Best Mochi Doughnuts in Austin - Eater Austin

"Bom started out as an Instagram bakery and evolved into a pop-up roaming throughout the city. Its mochi doughnuts come in the fun pon de ring style with eight balls of dough connected in a circle; the sweets are also completely gluten-free. The monthly menu often takes on themes, like the recent tropical one with flavors like guava, mangonada, and matcha yuzu; or the set inspired by Korean pop group BTS with Irish car bombs, Sprite, and honey butter. Currently, the pop-up is taking a summer break but will start back up in August." - Nadia Chaudhury

Bom Bakeshop Sells Mochi Doughnuts Through Instagram in Austin - Eater Austin

"Mochi doughnuts — chewy, colorful rings of fried dough in a range of fun flavors — are finally available in Austin thanks to the new pickup bakery Bom Bakeshop from wife-and-husband co-owners Teresa Kwon and chef Anthony Kim. While the treats are delightfully simple and sweet, the story behind the bakery is more complex." - Nadia Chaudhury

Restaurant Takeout and Delivery Recommendations From Eater Austin Editors - Eater Austin

"The small, colorful, chewy donuts were an absolute treat. The French Royalty — topped with chocolate ganache, a tart raspberry, and gold leaf — was a fancy favorite, although I also loved the tropical Guava Mama." - Erin Russell

Google
Bom Bakeshop are some of the HARDEST WORKING PEOPLE in business!! Not only are the donuts and other baked goods DELECTABLE, gluten free, and not overly sweet like other baked goods, but the owners are SO NICE and the best, most down to earth people. I had the privilege of attending their HOTS cup sleeve event and it was breathtakingly beautiful and an immersive paradise for HOBI fans. MANY cute photo ops are to be had at their pop up events! And a few other pictures from over the years and all the glorious, beautiful and creatively jaw-dropping backdrops for all Army to behold and enjoy. Lastly, I have never had anything short of a tasty treat from them, each and every bite is worth the price and calories 😅 Do yourself a favor and make it a point to try a BomBakeshop treat and or visit their popups!!!

Google
I experienced their donuts at a Lunar New Year event at Flow Yoga. I’m not usually a donut fan, but gave these a try. They are denser than typical, much closer to the ones my mom used to make. The flavors were so good! I got the tea infused one, the black sesame seed one, the yuzu and the mandarin. They were all delicious! If you need a new donut assortment for your next gathering, get these. Everyone will find something to please them, you’ll support a small business, and you’ll get major brownie points for creativity! Photo is post sampling 🤭

Google
I can’t believe anyone would say the HOTS cupsleeve in San Antonio didn’t happen—but I promise you, it absolutely DID and it was incredible! I stopped by both days and was blown away by the love and detail that went into everything. Teresa’s events are on a whole other level—thoughtful, vibrant, and full of heart. If you’re ARMY, I 🐿️Hope you get to experience an event put on by Bom Bakeshop! I met ARMY from Florida, Toronto, Virginia, North Carolina—even a sweet baby ARMY whose husband flew with her all the way from West Virginia just for the event! There were three generations of ARMY—grandma, mom, and daughter—sharing the love, and a joyful couple from Killeen glowing with excitement. So many happy faces, so much positivity. Teresa has an amazing vision and the biggest Purple Heart. She brings the community together in such a beautiful way. Can’t wait for the next one!

Google
There are a couple reviews that say a J-Hope event in San Antonio never happened, but I can assure you that it did! The events Teresa puts on are top notch, and I stopped by the cupsleeve both days! If you are BTS ARMY, you HAVE to check out Bom Bakeshop!

Google
They are so delicious!! I love their flavors and their owner is so nice and helpful with choosing a flavor if you’re confused. They also have really cute earrings! They have a long life customer in me!!

First time to try Mochi donuts and I loved them. The girl selling them was very knowledgeable and so nice. The donuts were beautiful and so tasty. Many varieties to choose from too. ❤️

Google
The best mochi donuts and the best people! The donuts taste amazing and I love that there are frequently new and fun flavors to try. I usually stick to chocolate when it comes to donuts, but these donuts are always so cool and pretty that I'm encouraged to step out of my comfort zone -- and I haven't been disappointed! I love the blueberry one, and a recent fave (that I hope makes a return) is Thai tea glaze with Fruity Pebbles on top. The owners are awesome as well! Teresa is so friendly and welcoming every time I pick up donuts from her. And the whole process is so smooth! Ordering online is easy and the pickup is fast and efficient. One of my favorite local businesses!

Google
I can not say enough good things about Bom Bakeshop. I stumbled upon a post about their popups on Instagram, and having never tried a mochi donut, I decided to give them a try. OMG my husband and I have been hooked since. The flavors are unique (and absolutely delicious), the designs are fun and beautiful, and to top it all off they're gluten free! The owners are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet, and you can tell they put a ton of time into making every single donut. Highly recommend checking them out! You won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Best mochi donut in Texas if not the world!!!! They are so delicious I think of them every day even though it's been a year at least since I've had a chance to have one. The business owners vision is only matched with their unbeatable high quality and healthy (ish) quality. They use extremely high quality frying oil you won't find being used in a single other restaurant in town. Especially a donut. Bom Bakeshop is a staple in Austin food culture and I can't wait to see how their business develops in the coming years. I've had the pleasure of having a custom cake made as well by Bom for my partners birthday and it was delicious and moist! Service is always amazing and best vibes. Also everything is gluten free !!!

Yelp
I was craving mochi donuts so bad!! Tomas suggested this place so I immediately checked them out. Small local business is a plus! They are currently doing a pop up at Dia's Market on Friday and Saturday. You have the option of pre-ordering your order for pick up. Be sure to check their social media or website to find their location. I ordered the following six flavors to try: strawberry shine, mangonada, ube rainbow, vanilla with crunchy chili oil, birthday cake and classic chocolate. They were soft with a chewy texture...perfect. Flavored beautifully. She provided me the instructions for warming them up for the next day. They were still good the next day. Very fresh and made with quality ingredients. They were all good, but if I had to choose one flavor I really enjoyed the mangonada. Yum! This was definitely a good spot for mochi donuts. Check them out.

Yelp
donuts are ofc tasty but teresa was so nice when my partner and i arrived! had a lil conversation about matching/colour coordinating outfits w our partners :) also i had messed up when ordering and picked the wrong time slot, but the admin team were so nice and let me come earlier!

Yelp
So pretty I almost don't want to eat them.....ALMOST! Teresa's gluten free mochi donuts are always so delicious and beautiful. Can't wait to start eating them!!

Yelp
Teresa and Chef Anthony make the best mochi donuts I've ever had. The donuts are light but so flavorful, and I have yet to try a flavor I don't like!

Yelp
This is a once in a lifetime find! Was lucky enough to be a part of a Yelp event featuring Bom and got to know the owners and the back story a bit more. I absolutely fell in love with this company hearing about their investment in good ingredients, their story of a husband creating treats for his wife who couldn't eat gluten, the struggles when the shop was first getting started - the list goes on. While the owners fundamentals are beautiful alone, the donuts were to die for. I've had many mochi donuts in my day and nothing compares to the chewiness and authentic mochi flavor that these donuts have. Not to mention the different toppings are so delicate, not too sweet, but the perfect add to the flavor of the donut. They have 100 flavors they repeat every year and are working on more. I'm so honored to have been a part of this experience and am thrilled to call myself a part of the bom family. PS - the Pandan and Matcha are out of this world!
google avatar

Yelp
If you visit and can't decide what flavor to get I HIGHLY RECOMMEND these two! Please show them the photo because I can't remember what they're called but truly the best mochi donut flavors I've had! It's also great to support a local business and I love that it's a husband and wife team and that they stay authentic to their roots.

Yelp
Incredibly disappointing mochi donuts. I pre-ordered a box of 6 donuts for $36 online and picked them up at their pop up location in Asahi Imports, a Japanese grocery store. I went during my workday and was surprised to see a long line of at least 40 something people inside the grocery store. The people bringing the donuts showed up about 30 minutes late as well. It was an ordeal to purchase, pick up, and I don't think they are worth the hefty price of $6 per donut. As for the donuts themselves, I would not even classify them as mochi donuts. They are not made the same way and do not resemble a traditional Japanese donut if that is what you are looking for. They were incredibly dense, unlike previous ones I've tried that are genuinely light, airy, fluffy. The icing was way too thick for a mochi donut, and the shape was not even your traditional bubbly form, just a regular donut. I thought the flavors were also not appetizing. I got strawberry, honey, mint choco, americano, and sprite. The mint flavor was the worst thing I've ever eaten. I'm a big fan of mint Andes, mint chocolate chip ice cream, but this tasted like a very chemically mint toothpaste. I took a bite out of each donut and didn't particularly like any of them. Would not recommend, I prefer Mochi Nut at a much more affordable cost.

Dani C.

Yelp
Just go there. Try it. Oh, the people behind it also deserve every penny. But seriously. The best mochidonuts in town and their menu is always changing and in a good day. You'll be hooked, I promise. JUST GO THERE

Yelp
Mochi donuts are hard to find. Good Mochi donuts are very hard to find. BOM does it well! Texture and flavor were the bomb! Even the delicate flavors worked! Carson on was delicious. Designs on specialty donuts were so cute and nicely done. Definitely recommend this place and if you have not tried a Mochi donut this is a good place! ALSO! They hand make all of these!
google avatar

Sasa P.

Yelp
These are delicious! I don't remember what rating I gave to their competitor mochinut when I went there, but trying these mochi donuts and mochi muffins makes me want to go back and deduct a star from my mochinut review. Bom Bakeshop has shown me that this is what a mochi donut should be - flavorful, made with real mochi, and having that perfect dense chewy mochi texture. And I didn't have to wait an hour and a half in line to try them! We will hopefully be catching their popup at Asahi Imports again very soon.

Sunny K.

Yelp
The texture of the mochinut is very good, and the asian-inspired flavors are very well done. The service was great, and she was very friendly when explaining the flavors to us. Since it's a pop-up, the ambiance depends on the time and the day.
google avatar

Yelp
the donuts are literally so delicious always a pick me up when i need a silly little treat! also the owners are always so nice & really care about each of their customers

Yelp
I absolutely loved visiting Bom Bakeshop. They do pop-ups every so often. We just finished our event for the day and randomly had time before they closed. Depending on where they're located, there might be a wait due to covid. This time they were at Asahi and we waited about 10 minutes outside. They were located on the left hand side of the store where the fresh snacks are. The owner is so personable and friendly. We bought half a dozen donuts and a bag of churros. We also did a drop in purchase. They do preorders on their website. The bag of churros was to share with the entire family, so I know to order more next time. I almost tried to eat the entire thing by myself. The donuts themselves were very flavorful and each flavor had their own distinct taste. We really loved the pandan one. Every week, they rotate out flavors Depending on the season. I would have pictures, but we ate them too fast we'll get pictures next time!

Yelp
My husband is severely allergic to gluten and missed donuts, so I was hopeful when a friend highly recommended Bom Bakeshop. I bought a box and my husband said they were the best gluten free donuts he's had. We are now loyal customers. I love the different themes they do each month, keeps it fun and involved. It's just a husband wife duo running this business; they put their heart and soul into it, and you can tell. I also like that they have pop ups and have learned about a cute Japanese grocery store because of it. However, I can't wait until they have their own store front as that means they've hit "the big time" and I can go get their donuts *all the time*!

Lisa R.

Yelp
Was not a fan of these doughnuts! The frosting was way too powerfully sweet and the doughnut wasn't anything spectacular especially for the price.
google avatar

Paul L.

Yelp
I get it I really do.. BUT if you really want to find out if this place is hype then go order a box. I've eaten every mochi donut spot in Texas ( I have receipts) and if you don't appreciate high quality hand made (instead of mass produced) mochi donuts then you'll never enjoy life. It's supposed to be chewy not chewy & stale. It's supposed to be pillowy goodness not artificially tasting. She puts in a lot of love and thought into each set and I appreciate her quality over quantity approach to her business. The standard for all mochi donuts is Modo Hawaii and I'm telling you Bombakeshop is on that level. Also any BTS questions ask her.. she's a BTS General

Yelp
I recently traveled to Austin and visited Asahi Imports and overheard people talking about picking up donuts. As I followed them to the back area, I noticed a sign for mochi donuts. I'm a sucker for mochi donuts, so I knew I was going to grab a few. Everyone in line before me had preordered their donuts, so I got a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to order any on the spot. Luckily, there were some available to order still. Hearing the price set me back a bit and since I never had them, I "only" got three for myself. After eating them, I'm glad I didn't get a whole box of six. They were decent, but I was not wowed by them. There's a certain chain that sells mochi donuts that I feel taste much better (though, after just checking, they aren't in Austin, yet). I don't regret trying it and supporting a local baker, though.

Yelp
Bom Bakeshop is owned by a Korean-American couple. All of their pastries are gluten free. To order, you can direct message them on Instagram @bombakeshop or send email to bombakeshop@gmail.com. Response time is same day. Curbside pickup was easy peasy. Re: Churros Teresa gave me two free large churros for my trouble since they didn't have a dairy and gluten free sourdough boule that day. I gobbled up both churros as soon as I arrived home. They were that good. Re: Whoopie Pies w/ dairy My husband loved his whoopie pies. Teresa said none of the gluten free items are to be stored in the fridge because it'll dry out. They're supposed to be stored in the freezer in an airtight container. The whoopie pies are gigantic in size. My husband still can't finish them after one week. Re: Mochi Donuts Mochi donuts are all the rage right now in the west and east coast. Mochi donuts have been around for over twenty years; created in Hawaii and Japan. But they're just now making the circuit in middle America. David Chang, of Momofuku and Milk Bar, recently posted mochi donuts on instagram. That said, personally, I'm not a fan of mochi donuts. It reminded me of eating seven dim sum fried sesame balls without the red beans and sesame. But you should give it a try at least once. I prefer Bougie's cake donuts over mochi donuts. Re: Twinkies filled with cow heavy whipping cream Each twinkie was smaller than a Hostess twinkie. But oh, where have you been the last eight years of my life? The twinkies were the best part of my Bom experience, hands down. I highly recommend you try their twinkies. Re: Whole Loaf of Bread w/o dairy I received a warm loaf of unsliced bread and was instructed to slice and store it in an airtight container in the freezer upon arrival at home. My husband and I each ate a slice when I got home. We both agreed it tasted better than Canyon Bakehouse and GFY Kitchen. It was the best gluten free bread I've ever had. It was moist, soft, fluffy, and luxurious.

Yelp
Mochi donuts are meant to be fluffy, nice chewy mochi and light. But these are not. Like someone mentioned, you either eat it immediately or they become inedible after 24 hours. Warming it up for few secs in microwave is not doing any good. Not to mention how expensive these donuts are. The twist donuts are not great either, it's already hardened when I picked them up and I feel like it's a waste of money. This was my first and last order with her. Since we have mochinuts at parmer ln now, I would rather go there. Plus it's cheaper too. I'm all about local business but you have to do it right and earn it. That's my opinion anyway. Her instagram also full of stories that I don't think are necessary. Some people can be rude in the dm for example, but to be reactive and sensitive about it by posting passive aggressive memes as a reply and associate it with DEI is not really fixing the problem is it? I'm an immigrant and so embarrassed by some of her ig stories that I had to unfollow her.

Yelp
Had to go get their August flavors (Vanilla Fairy Dust, Fruity Pebbles, Chocolate Caramel, Cherry Jubilee, Apricot Almond, PB&J, Blueberry White Chocolate, Honey Goat Cheese and Balsamic, Green Apple)!! My husband's first try at these Mochi Donuts--not a fan. Second time, he kept sneaking out to the kitchen again and again to eat them behind my back!!! These are seriously so addicting! Must try!
google avatar

Marian P.

Yelp
the owners have that horrible attitude. I waited 20 min on the line to buy donuts and when my turn finally came I found out that I had to have pre-ordered. I asked the girl on charge how I could do this for my next visit or where they were located in Town and she replied "hmm, I don't know maybe online" with a horrible attitude. I asked her if I could ask someone else and she looked at the other boy next to her and said "No" and they turned around. This happened on the celebration of " Chinese New Year" At the Umlauf. I send my comments to the Instagram account and the block me. So...
google avatar

Allison D.

Yelp
I love these mochi donuts! They're super tasty, and I love trying new flavors! I've gone to the pop ups multiple times and haven't been disappointed. The owner is also super friendly. I look forward to getting more donuts soon!
google avatar

Yelp
Super cute and yummers. Donuts that are celiac safe are such a treat! Perfect Christmas donuts as snacks for driving around looking at Christmas lights!
google avatar

Darnee W.

Yelp
I had never had mochi donuts before, but these were not too sweet, chewiness for days, pure deliciousness I even stopped by their pop-up in Vegas for a BTS event, bought extra to share with the roomies who loved them!
google avatar

Lauren A.

Yelp
Awesome mochi donuts! I've been ordering these all 2020 and they've brightened up the year. The donuts are chewy and light, but are best eaten the same day. Order through Instagram - right now they have a waitlist, but every once in a while they'll announce a same-day donut sale. My favorites are the lemon, matcha, chocolate, and blueberry donuts. They also have holiday specials, like new year, Valentine's Day, and Halloween Donuts. This is a very small business run by folks who need extra income due to COVID, and they're very friendly. I've only had great experiences ordering from Bom.
google avatar

Reese L.

Yelp
Not worth the price. The first time, I thought it was pretty good. I had the Tangerine donut. It was almost $5 but felt it was ok given that there's not a lot of other mochi donut places. I decided to give the churro twists a try the second time and it was awful and so tiny. It was close to $14 something like that. Not worth the money at all. The price in general is a but too much. If it tastes good and good portion size and quality then I'd say it's worth it. i guess it's ok to get some of the flavors of the donuts but not the twists
google avatar

Joanna L.

Yelp
I just had to come back to drop another review. I love this popup so much. Donuts are a delight! An indulgent delight! I keep coming back for more. And if mochi churros are on offer for the day, get them. They never make it out of the parking lot I inhale them so fast.
google avatar

Eugenia L.

Yelp
As much as I really wanted to like Bom, I'm left with mixed feelings. Bought 4 churro donuts to try out, but OUCH it came to ~$16. I get that it's a pop-up, but in my head I'm thinking that's like 3 Costco rotisserie chickens! It didn't help that they were roughly 4 inches in length, and plopped in a paper bag like fast food. Overall they were okay, denser what I prefer. If you've had the mochi donuts from Mochinut (Houston/LA) you know that they can be amazingly light but still satisfyingly QQ & chewy. While they weren't for me, I do wish them the best. Go to their IG to get the link to their waitlist. Later they'll email their next popup and menu.
google avatar

Jack C.

Yelp
If you're like most of Austin you didn't hear about Bom Bakeshop until Eater Austin did their write up. I had seen them on Instagram in some of my friend's IG stories and knew I had to check them out soon then the Eater story hit! Boom, the mochi was out of the bag. I started following them on IG and got on their waitlist to order. Over 900 people had signed up in a few days to get their grubby little hands on these coveted mochi donuts. My number was called and it was time. I ordered a box of the OG flavors (Lemon, Vanilla, Chocolate, Green Matcha, Blueberry, and Strawberry) and a bag of mochi churros(sooooo good). Hot damn! If you love mochi as much as I do, you're going to love these delectable treats! Soft and chewy. Mmmmmmmm..... They also make a ton of other baked goods that I will have to try. Like their homemade twinkies. OMG! Do you need gluten free goodies? They make them! So, do yourself a favor and go follow them on social media. You'll find out the latest happenings through their IG stories. Teresa and Anthony are the Bom!!
google avatar

Amy D.

Yelp
When I discovered Bom Bakeshop, those mochi donuts were not the only thing glazed! Serious eye candy. Bom Bakeshop brought mochi donuts to austin but they have so much more to offer too! From breakfast favorites, childhood favorites like whoopie pies and holiday classic sides.. Bom Bakeshop is making gluten free dreams come true.
google avatar

Yelp
I've been on the search for Mochi Donuts in Austin! I've tried some in Houston but the ones at Bom Bakeshop is SO. MUCH. BETTER! I love the fact that I don't have to drive to Houston for Mochi Donuts anymore! I ordered the Joy Jam - fruity pebbles, matcha, mocha, pink dragonfruit, mango My 1st order, I brought it home and my kids ate it all in literally 10 minutes. 10 MINUTES!! I had to make a 2nd order for myself and hide in the closet to eat it. Kidding! I mean, I ordered them their own box as well but my kids always be wanting whatever I'm eating! If you've never tried mochi donuts, you have got to try this place! Best of all, it's gluten free! They don't have a store front yet but you meet them and pick up your order. If they did have a store front, I'd be there every week!
google avatar

L P.

Yelp
I'd been searching for good mochi donuts in Austin and one day Bom came across my IG. I immediately pre-ordered for their popup and it was the best decision! Their donuts are soooo good, and as someone who has to eat gf, it's great to have a dessert that I can enjoy. Totally reminds me of the treats I'd get in Hawai'i. I also appreciate the business owners as people. It's really clear they aim to do things the right way. From running their business consciously to being COVID-aware, I'm grateful for the ways they go above and beyond.

Dani C.

Yelp
Best mochi donuts in town period. And the people behind them are even better, you can do no wrong by checking them out. Every single donut I've tried has been incredible and you can tell how much care is put into every donut. These people work so hard for everything, please go try!!! You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
[covid review] Tdlr: yummy but pricey Feedback from friend: "the texture was immaculate. The pumpkin spice was just the right spicy. The chai latte was tea-riffic. Thank you so very much for this delicious cuisine" -chiuchiu Hard to follow that quote but yes, the texture was very nice and chewy. More substance than a typically air-filled donut without wearing out your jaw. The toppings for each of the 6 flavors were creative and cute, and imo they were a good level of sweetness. The process to order is pretty easy too: you just DM them on IG, venmo, then set up a time to pick up the goods. They do a good job coordinating the exchange and keeping it safe (drop off through a window into the backseat). Enjoyable experience all around, obvious that these donuts are made with a lot of love. Only gripe is that it's a bit pricey -- $24 for a half dozen donuts. Unsure if 4 bucks a donut is sustainable but I enjoyed trying mochi donuts for the first time and supporting a local business!
google avatar

Annie H.

Yelp
I think their mochi donuts are the best in Austin! Yes, it is a bit inconvenient to pre-order for a specific pickup time at their pop-ups but their donuts are worth the effort. They usually set aside a few for walk ups but those are claimed so quickly that I find it easier to pre-order. I've also found their donuts stay fresher longer than others in town. The owners/bakers are such nice people as well so I enjoy buying donuts from them.
google avatar

Shradha A.

Yelp
Soooooo good! I'm gluten sensitive and never imagined gluten-free desserts could taste so good - in fact, better than most places that offer regular desserts. My absolute favorite is their tiramisu. The twinkies are better than the original imo. And the donuts - that's definitely what they're most famous for and switch is up with creative flavors. Communication and coordination for curbside pickup is so simple. This husband-wife home baking duo is going places eventually - get in on the secret early!

Yelp
Seriously the best! Super yummy and creative. Love the owners too. If you haven't tried them, run!!

Yelp
Wow, these mochi donuts are absolutely delicious, THE BEST! Chewy, yummy, awesome flavors, high quality, perfect! Preordering online was easy and pickup was super convenient. I especially loved the Leprechaun (Irish cream glaze) mochi donut and the mochi churros. The Bom Bakeshop team creates spectacular stuff, I highly recommend!
google avatar

Maia M.

Yelp
I genuinely love this place. Each week I look forward to treating myself to some donuts. The black sesame, yuzu, and taro are my favorite. The honey butter one and the galaxy ones from the BTS series... yum. I get more every order thinking I will be happy and satisfied. I never am. Each time I go back and get more than the last time. The couple that runs this pop up are kind, joyful, and wonderful. Genuinely. Keep track of where they are popping up. You'll thank me later.

Yelp
If you're looking for a tasty treat and love supporting local businesses, look no further! Teresa and Anthony (Hyeonsu) are two seriously talented bakers, dedicated to churning out fun flavors and themed sets of mochi donuts. While the donuts may be the major focus of most patrons at their pop-ups, I cannot even begin to tell you how addicting the mochi churros are! Like, eat-one-in-the-car-before-you-leave-and-then-another-on-the-way-home type addicting. Always happy to support local businesses, but supporting a business that is BIPOC / Asian / Women-owned AND so vocal about ethical and sustainable business practices? Couldn't be more of a "win" in my book!

Ashlie R.

Yelp
This is one of those rare, secret finds that make Austin so special. I think I found this couple as an alternative to a different shop that recently exploded in popularity. I followed on Instagram, pre-ordered, and fell in LOVE! The texture is soft and chewy, and the flavors are all so unique! The first set I bought was a fall 2022 set and there were flavors I'd never had that just set my taste buds reeling! I appreciate that while they have steady flavors, they also rotate monthly and seasonally. You must try these mochi donuts!

Yelp
I had to write another review to reply to the recent one star reviews.... I lived in Japan for a year and I love Japanese donuts from Mr.donots (a Japanese brand). They are fluffy and airy but I think BOM Shop makes more of their own version (more Korean style? I do know they imported their rice flour from Korea). So they are different and equally as good... I tried mochinut and come on those are expensive too ( my memory could be incorrect but remembered was at least 4 or 5 dollar each too not 0.99 cents) and those were ok and flavors were kinda artificial to me..You do know that as a chain mochinut can get their ingredients cheaper in bulk and cheap labor too. Speaking about donuts getting hard if you don't eat them right away.. I just microwave them for 10 secs and came out as good. I highly recommend trying their Asian flavors (like lychee, and passion fruit which are lighter).

Yelp
Donuts suck here and service sucks even more! If I could give 0 stars I would. I'm assuming the business owner is Teresa. I preordered online so I assume I wouldn't wait in line! Well I waited in line and was able to pick it up a few minutes earlier than my pick up time. Teresa gets mad and told me that it's unfair to the customers waiting in line. I was so flustered and thought that the whole point of pre ordering was to pick up my order quick. Rude service plus the donuts are mediocre. Never again!!!!

Yelp
These mochi donuts are officially my family's favorite donuts. We've tried all the flavors they offer including the limited edition and its all consistently good. I have to mention that because they hand roll these bad boys up by hand so you know the couple put their heart and soul into it. Its pre-order only and they sell out fast for a reason. Its delicious, chewy and so damn photogenic lol

Yelp
What is a mochi donut? I also had no idea until ordering. I chose a 6 pack, one of each flavor. Matcha, chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, lemon, and blueberry! Also grabbed 4 whoopie pies. The matcha flavor mochi donut is a clear winner. The flavor pops. The perfect chew from the donut is to die for. This isn't your typical glazed donut. I love that you can cut the donuts into 6 smaller individual servings. But I ended up eating 2 "serving sizes" of every flavor in a sitting. Their Instagram ordering is run like a well oiled machine. I appreciate a well set time and expectations. I showed up, followed directions and traded for mochi donuts and whoopie pies!

Yelp
First time I tried Bom was while in line at the Brewtorium to fill up on drinkable water during the recent weather disaster. I'm not one to choose doughnuts as a treat, but oh boy -- these were AMAZING. We've already told our friends about them and will be returning for sure. We tried a vanilla and chocolate one, both great. The texture is so unique and satisfying!

Yelp
I was one of the first regular customers of this amazing little bakeshop! They have filled my spring, summer, and now fall with delicious gluten free items. I will leave the other reviewers to rave about the mochi donuts (hint: they're AMAZING). What I want to talk about is Bom Bakeshop and Chef Anthony's gift for turning anything into gluten free deliciousness. I have tried almost every single thing on their menu: from the brioche rolls, fresh bread, and sourdough boules - to the muffins, scones, cookies, tiramisu, whoopie pies, and Twinkies!! I have never tasted such incredible approximations of items that are regularly baked with only gluten. I actually never thought I would have a chance to eat sourdough bread again, but Bom Bakeshop and Chef Anthony delivered it to my door -- STILL WARM! I wept with joy. For those who say the price is too high, I dare them to find anyone as talented as Chef Anthony with baking gluten free items that approximate the real thing. This is real talent -- with love baked into every single bite. For gluten free foodies such as myself, it's worth it! I remain an adoring fan ready to taste anything that comes out of their kitchen!

Yelp
Finally got to try some mochi churros today and they were scrumptiously, incredibly chewy with a perfect outer crisp. Also picked up a gluten-free loaf of bread--can't wait to devour it! Update: tried the gluten-free sandwich bread. Wow. Can not describe how delicious it is.
