The worst tandoori mixed grill that I have had.
Maybe not THE worst - there was one restaurant in Warsaw that takes some beating.
The chicken
When I order a tandoori mixed grill I have some expectations of a rich tandoori chicken experience, red and charred at the edges by the tandoor with a rich flavour. What I got was a flat chicken leg that tasted like it had just been sprinkled and cooked in a domestic over. It just was not right. Any tandoori lovers must know what I mean here.
The seehk kebab was overpowered by cumin. Whilst this seems to be an acceptable interpretation of Indian food by all British supermakets, it spoiled an otherwise mediocre dish.
The tandoori lamb pieces seemed to be just pulled from the Biryani pot and included. Maybe, maybe not ... but it wasn't tandoori lamb. As for the chicken tikka pieces, not even close I am sad to say. They were forgettable.
I am disappointed. Perhaps it is the area, where just about everything seems to be slightly rubbish. Personally, I would just avoid it in favour of something more authentic, provided that good tandoori chefs are still available. They are clearly in short supply here.
