Bon Appetit

"This smart Georgian terraced house near the harbour is home to a contemporary brasserie with a lively atmosphere. Modern dishes have a classical French base and plenty of Asian influences. The intimate cellar bar offers afternoon tea, with brunch available at weekends." - Michelin Inspector

Service is very quick here. The food is quite tasty but overall the dishes are a bit pricey for what it is. I recommend coming here during one of the many deals they have during the week and it would be worth it then. Overall, the waiters were super friendly and it was a pleasant dining experience.

Before booking, I noted that for Bon Appetit Pink that seemed to be a good place for a meal, that there were a number of not so good reviews. Now I know why. I booked a res the afternoon of our visit. We arrived about 10-15 minutes early. There was no one at the podium when we arrived so we waited a few minutes. We were seated in a mostly empty restaurant. Our orders were taken fairly quickly and we got our G&Ts. That's when service fell apart. A 3 top and 2 top who were seated after ourselves were served their starters before we were. Then the 2 top that showed up 20-30 minutes after we were got their mains before we did and the 3 top had already finished their mains. No realization of this gap in service. Indeed a couple was waiting at the podium when we left with the woman looking frustrated. Otherwise, our drinks and food were top notch so it's a shame that the front of house is so spotty. Ambience is a bit garish with pink neon signage and pink elsewhere in a nice house with beautiful ceiling medallions and molding. It's good if you're willing to risk the wait. Otherwise a good lot of other restaurants in town.

We were tempted with a special offer “Ladies night 35 €”. Starters were ok, as we ordered 3 different dishes to share and to try. We decided to go for cocktails instead of deserts. The cocktails were brought at different time to each of us, this is first disappointing. Cocktails were good, we couldn’t complain about it. Main courses (chicken breast and fish) were too salty and dry. We were disappointed that main course with no side just blank piece of chicken and it was small portions. If the side main course parts needed to be ordered separately at least waiters can inform or explain to us. Service was a little bit slow, needs to be improved. We asked couple of questions about menu but waiters were not sure about dishes. Atmosphere and design is nice and mean to be romantic, but unfortunately we don’t want to go back even we were looking for Monday menu 40% offer discount.

Simply excellent— in every respect. Staff seem well trained, and very customer focused. Could not help noticing how switched on the manageress was in terms of supervision and maintaining the high level of service. I always liked this Restaurant, but it has gone from strength to strength in the past year

Came here for the Mother’s Day meal which was fantastic value for money. The food was very nice, but there’s little atmosphere on the ground floor level. Service started off good but started to lack later on in the meal. Decent portion sizes as well.

Bingo!!! Excellent food, superb service, friendly staff and a cool location…this is it. Shrimp was succulent, pork cheek was falling apart and delicious, the steak was cooked to perfection and the pepper sauce was unctuous. Desert was fab (and I’m not really a desert sorta guy). Anyway we will be back. 100%.

We visited here last night, our first time. First impressions were that the tables were too close together, too many in a small space. We were seen to by our server quickly and drinks ordered while we checked out the menu. A great selection of great dishes which we chose starters and mains from. We both had Scallops & Beef cheek which was absolutely beautiful. For mains I had pan roasted Monkfish, two small pieces of which one was way over cooked and an effort to cut through. The meal was very nice but the fish should have been the star and let it down badly. My date had the Balsamic glazed Pork belly which was outstanding and 10 out of 10... we had one drink with our meal and waited 15min to try catch an eye for another drink. The young staff were either gathered around the bar or going down stairs to the pink bar. After 20mins without a drink I went up and asked for the bill. On a side note the room has a high ceiling but is small enough, there were two tables on the other side of the room who were very noisy and several people looked annoyed by this and the fact the staff were not asking them to respect others. €100 for a beer and a glass of wine. Two starters and two mains is not excessive but because of the fish, the service and the over cramped/loud room I would not recommend it as value for money. I was told by a local "Standards are slipping and they are trading on their name"... Please like 👍 and share
