Best Haitian Restaurants Around Boston | Eater Boston

"Before you even enter Bon Appetit, a well-known spot founded by the late Madan Charlot, you’ll likely hear Mikaben or other Haitian artists blasting on the street. When you visit, dig into classics like kodenn nan sòs, a stewed-down turkey dish with rice and sòs pwa (bean sauce) during the day, and at night, vibe out with the Haitian uncles and aunties sipping Heinekens and Prestiges while watching the Celtics game." - Ashia Aubourg

I am really not sure what happened but the food I received is not Haitian food and does not represent Haitian culture. I ordered the Legume, steamed vegetables and plaintains, and did not get that. Instead I got a plate of rice, dry plantains, and dry hard meat. The sauce in the side was flavorless and tasted like tomato soup. I found one piece of broccoli and one carrot in my food. I am assuming that was the attempt to give me vegetables. growing up experiencing great Haitian food with my family being from PAP, I am highly disappointed in the quality and representation of Haitian cuisine. I transferred the food to my own plate and had to borrow on oxtail from my sister's food that she ordered from a different resturant to make it somewhat enjoyable. It is not somewhere I would return for a meal.

I love this spot. I've been going there for years.. I went in there today looking for meatballs, and they didn't have any.. within minutes, the cook made me a plate and went out his way to cook my meatballs 😋 plate was bomb

They lack phone etiquette. They hung up me multiple times. I’d call back and they’d pick up say something in creole then put me right on hold. Just making it very difficult to order a dam plate of food. They’re far from professionals and don’t comprehend every customer does not speak their native tongue. Food is also inconsistent in taste I went there on a Friday afternoon and it was not as good as the Wednesday plate I ordered. Save yourself the headache

I used to come here because of the good food and presentation. Customer service was NEVER good and now they are giving the food like this?!?! 😤 I know this is t a high class restaurant but they aren't even presenting the food as a decent restaurant would. I'm VERY disappointed in this and I don't see my self coming back here because this is just NOT okay.

I paid 30 dollars for food and they didn’t even fill my plate up with rice. It looks like leftovers & I only got 2 plantains. Absolutely worst! I don’t recommend it at all. I will never go back here again.

My version of a carribean fast food spot. Quality Haitian cuisine with the option to eat in or takeout. Go big with a large plate or keep it simple with their $5 dollar special plates. No matter how you look at it, you'll eat well at Bon Appetit

If you want a taste of the islands "Haitian Food" this is the place to go even if you only have a few dollars you can still eat. This place remembers what it like to need to eat n offers $5 plate specials always. Help support one of our 12 tribes thanks.
