San Francisco’s Bon Délire Oozes Boozy French Bistro Charm on the Embarcadero | Eater SF

"I encountered a tall, elegant waterfront space offering a fresh perspective on a French bistro–slash–wine bar, with a horseshoe-shaped zinc-topped bar at its heart, tall windows framing views of the bay and bridge, a DJ booth spinning vinyl, and movies like Amélie, The Artist, and La Boum flickering on a back wall. Executive chef Vernon Morales and chef Te’Sean Glass helped develop a modern menu of bistro classics: escargots in parsley and garlic butter with caramelized shallots; a baby croque-madame stuffed with Parisian ham, gooey Comté, extra cheese, and shaved truffles; a grilled leeks vinaigrette; steak frites with New York strip, thin crisp fries, and sauce poivre; and “Le Burger,” featuring a thick beef patty, melted Comté, tomato confit, frisée, and a housemade brioche. For dessert the pain perdu is custardy in the center, torched on top and drenched in caramel, and madeleines are baked to order and dunked in chocolate. I also note plans to expand the menu with brunch omelets and œufs cocotte, a lunch takeout window serving jambon beurre and a pan bagnat described as “messy but good,” a French-focused wine list curated by sommelier Patrick Thillard emphasizing bubbles and Burgundy (with occasional Napa Cabernet), and cocktails from Jason Lam ranging from a classic martini to a butter-washed paloma. Studio Terpeluk redesigned the roughly 1,300-square-foot space with about 50 seats inside and 20 outside, and Bouzidi says the vibe, music, decor, and experience are what will make Bon Délire special." - Becky Duffett

Le Cheval: This Long-Running Vietnamese Restaurant Is Closing After 38 Years in Oakland | Eater SF

"I learned that a new tenant is taking over the Pier 3 waterfront space: Kais Bouzidi, owner of the Sens and Bar restaurants, is opening a third restaurant called Bon Delire; details are scant, the project is still in the early stages, and a representative says the restaurant is at least six months away from opening." - Dianne de Guzman

The service was great. The bar tender made some amazing cocktails for us that blew our minds. Food was hitting, extremely delicious! Vibes upon entry were sick, but some DJ showed up and messed up the vibe with Vanilla Ice type garbage. Backstreet Boys and 94.7 hits fm trash... it killed the vibe for anyone other than 18 year old girls. So if you're not a little girl, you might want to avoid this place. That said, free popcorn, great service, and affordable/amazing food/drink made up for the bad music.

Haven’t stopped talking about this place, The vibe, the ambiance, the food, THE DRINKS, the strawberry daiquiri was very good. The music is something I’ve been searching for in clubs, the service was great. Would recommend this place will be visiting again for sure! 10/10

As a highly recommended bar we were excited to try this spot. The menu options are vast. As for cocktails this place is a relaxed option. Drinks were well made, balanced, and delicious. Go if you want a quick easy drink. The main problem is the customer service. The good staff member is the bouncer. Our server was unpleasant. No smile the whole visit even though we were polite and patient. Water was not refilled. They did not check in on us. No welcome or questions about allergies. Also when we asked for drink recommendations the seemed annoyed. They then went on break or ended their shit and sat at the bar while we tried to order another drink. Other servers had to be flagged down and then took a while to get the bill. We wanted to order more but the service was just so bad. W We get places get busy but no apology and lack of communication is just disrespectful.

Let's go somewhere with the boys where should we go? We should go to Bon Délire. Why? Cause its a really great bar . With good beer, great cocktails. Nice vibe . Good seating. Nice lighting. Good food. Good deals on food too. Come here, you're really going to like it. Come with friends. Come alone. Play some pool .

This is a great new bar that opened up in the area and I'm thinking it will be an amazing summer spot. I love the vibe kinda 2000's retro-ish it's hard to explain. But I'd recommend going and the music has been on point every time. The staff is really nice and overall the bar is clean. I can't complain!

Yelp
A bar that seemed up our alley at first glance. We were initially attracted to it from the 64-bit, video-game style animation on their website which we love (obviously) but unfortunately that is the only place that element is present and we wish there were more of it. The outdoor signage imitating a pawn shop also entertained us. However, once inside, we realized that every part of Bon Délire is represented by the same issue : there is no clear direction. The decor is eclectic to say the least (and includes a random fist d**do suctioned to the ceiling exiting the kitchen for some reason) but we did enjoy the leopard print pool table. The music playlist is completely random ranging from classic rock to hip hop to Latin dance music. The drink menu is more of the same ; every cocktail we had was overloaded with unnecessary ingredients as if they were trying to use every one of their drinks at once. (as the saying goes :"Trop c'est comme pas assez") but we do think the idea of having full cocktails on tap is great. We appreciate the effort, we realize it is relatively new and acknowledge the potential of this bar with some very positive elements but we still feel it can be better executed overall.

Yelp
Fun new addition to the hood, nice cocktails on tap and a funky vibe! Folks behind the counter were also super friendly.
