A longtime Avenue K favorite reborn as an independently run AYCE spot with both order-to-table and self-serve meat stations. Go for LA galbi and brisket, then raid the banchan bar; lively, group-friendly, and very Plano.

My favorite go-to authentic Korean bbq in DFW. The price is very affordable. There is La Galbi during lunch, which is A+ [normally in other kbbq restaurant] it would be in the dinner menu. Must try is La Galbi, Beef Bulgogi, Hangjungsal, Beef Belly. [Most beef meats will be in the menu] They have corn cheese for $3 and ramen for $5. They even have Happy hours and monthly promotions! Service needs little bit of work but not bad.

Loved the whole experience! Great quality meats, tasty side dishes, and a fun, interactive way to enjoy dinner. The staff was attentive and made sure our grill stayed hot and clean. Can’t wait to come back!

ALL YOU CAN EAT. Intimate family celebration for my son's 17th birthday. We had a blast! Cost about $29 per person if you include meat and fish, $17 per person if you order the vegetarian only. You get to choose from both the menu and the buffet. We cooked lots of beef, pork, fish, shrimp, mushrooms, and onions that we got from the buffet on the 2 grills at our table. The buffet also has several types of rice, pasta and seaweed dishes. Of course my son cooked and ate every type of meat he could get his hands on including pig tongue (not a big fan but he loved it!). I preferred the pineapple steak that I ordered of the menu and cooked myself on the grill. Really fun experience!

Google
Great food and service, they have variety of meats that you can go and just pick up (note few meats needs to be ordered) as well as veggies/ kimchi and even porridge + cooked food such as kimchi rice, bulgogi and noodles. Great service everything was very tasty and i loved variety of veggies. Pumpkin porridge was way beyond my expectations - really good. Highly recommend this place 10/10 * the only thing missing from usual korean bbq is seafood options I think I only saw shrimps available and as my own preference I would love to have radish kimchi which was not on the menu.

Google
I rarely say this about any place…. TERRIBLE! We came to have a different experience for my 9 year old and let her cook her own food. She enjoyed. But the food selection was very very subpar. EVERYTHING WAS PORK!! If you are like us and don’t eat beef or pork, you are screwed. They had 1 (one) type of chicken (teriyaki) and head on shrimp and tilapia. It was not worth $28 that we spent. When we looked online for the menu it had a wide array of items. That was not the case when we got there. There is a hot food area. That was Pork Heavy also. The fried rice was ok and then we ordered some Korean hot wings which ended up just being fried wings in some hot bbq sauce. I noticed that the few chicken items were cut funny with bones and fat just everywhere. It felt like they bought chicken scrapes and made it work. But the ice cream was good. The wait staff was attentive and they promptly cleaned when we needed them too.

Google
I found it overwhelming to cook my own food and manage the small grill at the table for a dining out experience . It felt like I was doing all the work instead of enjoying a relaxed evening out —you have to prep your plate and cook everything yourself, which isn’t really my thing. The menu was heavy on pork, and the few items that came already cooked weren’t very good. While the concept is interesting, overall the experience was disappointing.

Google
The BBQ buffet was fantastic, so many to choose from. The meat is good and the side dishes were plenty. The price was reasonable for what you get. Enjoyed our lunch very much.

Nice food and atmosphere, side dishes are awesome. Service is okay, but not great.

Yelp
Came here today on a Sunday, at 6:00pm it wasn't busy when arrived, but when we were done it was picking up. I like how you can choose the Korean small dishes rather than most places that give you tiny little plates, staff was so efficient and quick! This place is so spacious so you don't have to worry about smelling like bbq food, I love how clean this place is!! It's 28.99$/pp

Yelp
We enjoyed dinner here Tuesday night. We had the AYCE Korean BBQ where they bring you some meats and other meats you get from the buffet. You grill at your table. The meat was very good, thick cuts and tasty. We were a bit disappointed in the rest of the buffet. There were very few Korean banchan items, and I was hoping the meal would include ttukbaegi gyeranjjim (steamed egg in a small earthenware pot) but they didn't have that.

Yelp
I have heard good things about this place so I wanted to give it a try. Came in on a Monday night and for a while we were the only ones there. My friend explained we had to get the food ourselves which is okay I know there's a couple of places that do this. Once we got our food and started cooking I was trying to eat some of the side dishes/appetizers they had like the tteokbokki and japchae while I waited for the meats to finish, I noticed the side dishes were cold and tasted very old like they had been sitting for 6+ hours which is believable being that it was a slow Monday night. The meats were okay, some of them also tasted old if that's even possible? I wish I could have enjoyed this place after seeing all the reviews and having it been recommended so much. Maybe I will try again but for now I did not enjoy the taste it left for me. I will say the staff were very attentive and friendly.

Yelp
Sometimes when you want something done right you have to do it yourself ;). All jokes aside Bon KBBQ is BON (good in French). Nicely decorated interior, very clean & also incredibly spacious. I came for dinner, but being that most items served for dinner are also available for lunch I'd recommend you stop by Monday through Thursday before 3pm to really take advantage of the price ($20 vs $30 plus tax doesn't seem like much of a difference until you're out on a date or in a group). When it comes to the food the meat & seafood options are fresh and of great quality in terms of cut/grade, as are all the pre-cooked sides. The staff does an incredible job of not only ensuring customer satisfaction at the table but that there's a consistent rotation of items readily available. First impressions truly are lasting so if you've never been to a Korean bbq restaurant I do highly recommend Bon Kbbq as you won't be disappointed. It's best to come in a group, but don't fret if you're alone. My best advice is to start with small portions so that you're able to try everything (from their soup selection to precooked meals, select bbq items, cold sides & self serve sorbet/ice cream for dessert). It's important to be mindful of how much you order though, as I do believe you get charged for waste they deem excessive.

Yelp
Delicious and great service on this cold gray day You hit the door with beautiful smell of searing meat Colin was our server and was very prompt and very good as well as coverage from other servers nearby for our group of eight or nine Easy to get plenty of food quickly tasty and fresh

Yelp
Their lunch deal is AMAZING!! And it includes marinated LA galbi so it's a steal. They have buffet tables with wide selections from meat to veggies to banchans with rice and soups. The meat was so tender and so good! The only downside is they use some infrared grill so the meat takes a bit to cook.

Yelp
I enjoyed having lunch with my sister at this Korean BBQ spot, it was both of our first time here. We were promptly seated. We both ordered water and the waiter made sure that our glass was never empty. My sister and I both checked out the restrooms. A plus that this restaurant is mobility impaired friendly. I looked around and there was definitely enough room with out awkward maneuvering. Our Dad has an electric wheelchair, while my sister still only uses a cane. The ambiance was a clean Korean BBQ restaurant. My sister and I both commented to each other how their floor are clean and not slippery. The meats were fresh and tasty, the fried rice well my sister said hers was under done but my scoop was over done. All in all this is a good Korean BBQ.

Yelp
I love coming to Bon. I drive 30 minutes and pass probably 5 other kbbq restaurants just to come to this one. Restaurant is spacious and comfortable, they have a great variety of banchan / sides, appetizers and self service meats. As if that wasn't enough already, there's a menu with a handful more items you can order directly from the waiter as well. Pro tip - every table has a light switch, flip your light on to indicate you need something and the waiter will come right over. Service has always been great every time I come. I really enjoy the flexibility of being able to get my own sides and appetizers because sometimes I just want to try little bits of everything.

Yelp
Yesterday, we revisited this amazing place for the second time. The customer service was outstanding, the meats were fresh, and there was a wide variety of delicious sides. We were blown away by the amazing Shiken drink dessert they had!
google avatar

Danny N.

Yelp
Pretty solid spot for kbbq. All of their meat is pretty high quality and flavorful. They also have a hot and cold bar for Cold/hot side dishes, multiple sauces, and soups. I especially adored their kimchi rice! It pairs well with the grilled meats. They played American music for about 30minutes with a playlist of 10 songs, then an alarm went off and switched to Kpop. Service was great and our grilled was changed twice. Definitely recommend. Plano spot is pretty nice

Yelp
Fresh meat for the asking! Yes please Ambiance is great, plenty of parking, and clean bathrooms. One star for the lack of clearing of the dirty dishes and refills... Otherwise epic experience.

Yelp
Second time here and again a 3.5, considering this is AYCE KBBQ for $19. Again they have tons of side dishes and options which are delicious! Their coleslaw is so good, and they have fish cakes, bean sprouts, etc. and a small sauce bar. They also have some soup at the end where they have kimchi fried rice, jap chae, etc. The middle section has raw meat you can bring to your table, but you can order meat from the waiters too. The meat quality itself is a little subpar, the beef belly was not as fresh as I am used to and you can tell. It's definitely not bad but it's not great. I think the best meat here is the LA Galbi, which is what I ate most of. It is a bit greasy as they don't trim the fat, but the seasoning is nice and it is overall pretty tender! The service this time was much better, the waitresses walked around to make sure you had all you needed, they changed the grill for us, and food came fast! This was a pleasant change from last time :) Ambiance is like an older Korean bbq place, it's cozy and clean but not fancy. A nice casual spot! Again, for $19 AYCE this is pretty good. The side dishes and extras are really good, just the meat quality is a little below average. If you are looking for some kbbq on a budget, I think this place would be good to start!
google avatar

Alicia G.

Yelp
Okay yum! Randy and Kris were amazing servers, wouldn't even let an empty plate touch the table! The sides and some meats are available for you to grab whenever making it convenient for the all you can eat style. Good value and service. Meat was seasoned nicely and delicious. A dessert drink is also included with the buffet. New fav Korean BBQ place!!

Yelp
So I am not very familiar with korean barbecue... but I did check this place out hoping for a new cool experience. I don't think that it was a poor value, the food was decent. Right out of the gate the food I got from the hot cooked food station was not hot and the chicken had a strange consistency so that put me off a bit quickly. Otherwise, everything was fine. Service was attentive. I think they handled everything well enough with food safety so I don't want to be critical of this from a style perspective because some of my concerns are intrinsic to a buffet style for a place where you cook the meat yourself. This place doesn't seem to be trying to be a high end meal, but provide a good value and I do think they deliver on that value. Ultimately this wasn't a great experience for me, but I am probably not the target market and this is more reflective of my expectations going in. If the hot food would have been hot, I think I would have given this restaurant 4 stars.

Yelp
Very solid bang-for-your buck KBBQ. Dinner pricing is $26.99/person. Meats were overall fair quality and seasoned well, although 1 plate of meat tasted sour. They have several options to pick from the menu, but they also have more marinated meats and seafood at the self-service bar area. Our waiters were attentive and changed our grill regularly. I actually enjoyed the side dishes a lot, perhaps even more so than the meat. The Tteokbokki and Japchae in particular were pretty good.
google avatar

Chelsea L.

Yelp
Got the lunch all you can eat. There are many meats to choose from and you can take it back to your table to cook. There are also some meats you can order with your server, my favorite being LA Galbi and shikhye (drink). There are cooked and uncooked food. The floor is too waxy/slippery. I didn't feel comfortable walking around. Also the sign to the restroom is not very visible. Overall, I like the food. The servers are also attentive and cleared up plates quickly.
google avatar

Jan H.

Yelp
My kids favorite Korean place thanks to their meat choices and buffet line for sides and meat options. I like the ability to pick and choose from many veggie sides in comparison to places like Gen.
google avatar

Keven W.

Yelp
This place used to be Jin Korean food. I wonder if they changed the sign to Bon KBBQ in front as I remember when we came here we saw the Jin Korean Restaurant outside where we were driving, but got confused that we saw Bon KBBQ in front of the store. But it is located near H-Mart. This is usually our go to place for Korean BBQ as the prices are $27 dollars per person. They have three stations. The salad bar and the appetizers like Kimchi, snowpeas, ice cream station, the raw meat station which was the bogolgi, pork belly, shrimp, etc and then the hot food station, gyoza, fried rice and the peanut chicken. They also have rice and pumpkin juk and some other soup too. They have a menu where you order premium meat as well. What to I like and what to try? 1. Peanut Chicken - If you ever seen this one come out hot, please get it 2. Beef Tongue 3. Beef Belly 4. LA Galbi 5. I love the salad and the sauce, I ate quite a bit of it 6. Hot Wings What not to get? 1. I did not enjoy the roast beef as it was dry Ice Cream was alright as you do need to get rid of the salt. I enjoy coming here to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone that has lived in and visited Korea I can tell you that this is not authentic Korean BBQ. They add why to much sugar or sweetener to the meat marinade. Unfortunately this is all to common here in the states. The kimchi was just okay. And the kimchi rice and japchae was okay. But the meat was so sweet I could hardly eat it. We were disappointed especially considering the price of $28 a person for dinner. I do not recommend Bon KBBQ.

Mickle P.

Yelp
The best BBQ The food was fresh The price was affordable The staff was friendly and hard working The restaurant was clean The over all 9/0utta 10

Yelp
This is a great Korean bbq place! The food all tastes fresh and is VERY plentiful. You definitely get your money's worth here. The space is very nice and open. The staff is great and you have a light switch on your table to let them know if you need something. I'll definitely be back when I'm craving more kbbq!
google avatar

Jenny T.

Yelp
Come back today but everything is super sweet now. From the ready food to the meat for grilling, the sauce for them is super extra and sweet. I know this is a strategy to make you eat less and easy to feel full or stop eating but this is too much Service still good and friendly.
google avatar

Johnnie W.

Yelp
This is our families spot, we have been going at least once a month for the past 4yrs. Family of 6, and even though the kids are very older and more expensive, it's still worth it. Great family dinner kids have loved it and it's always their go to spot.
google avatar

Samantha G.

Yelp
All you can eat Korean BBQ with a spin! We had family over for the holidays that have never had Korean BBQ before. I thought Bon KBBQ was the perfect spot to bring newbies. They had a lot of pre-cooked options available to choose from in the "buffet" area (e.g., kimchi fried rice, fried dumplings, regular fried rice, noodles, miso soup, etc.) as well as raw meat for the table to bbq. Since it was Christmas Eve, the place was fairly busy! We didn't have any issues with service. Our grill was changed out regularly and everything tasted fresh!
google avatar

Susan B.

Yelp
The actual cuts of meat might not be the greatest, but nothing can beat their $19.99/person rate for lunch AYCE k-bbq! I love their kimchi/hot food/soup bar. This is a quantity over quality place, but it absolutely hits the spot when you're craving Korean fare every now and then (I love that I can get kimchi fried rice and my galbi here). The service has always been impeccable when I've come! Note: I always forget their sodas aren't refillable fountain soda drinks.
google avatar

Mystery S.

Yelp
Really good price for Korean bbq, loved that we were able to grab ingredients from the self service bar. That being the case our waiter was still attentive and visited us often. We were able to be immediately seated despite it being a busy Saturday night. Really liked the seating and atmosphere! Dumplings were really good as was the kimchi rice. The sauces were plentiful I'm as were the protein options. Loved that they had tteokbokki!
google avatar

Marc G.

Yelp
I love Korean BBQ and this restaurant has some of the best cuts of meat that is extremely flavorful. The only real improvement I feel should be made is the cocktail menu. The beer, saki and Soju is great but I wouldn't mind seeing some bourbon and tequila. The service is speedy. The ambiance is upbeat. I give this restaurant 5 stars for their price point. Pineapple Steak- a must try!!! Beef Belly- Flavorful and Tender
google avatar

Giang L.

Yelp
I have come to Bon bbq for many times. And it still remain the flavor. However, the La Galbi today is not sweet as usual, and they change the flavor to spicy. The bulgogi is not soft like last time.
google avatar

Michael L.

Yelp
these reviews must be bought. this is hands down the worst KBBQ I've ever been to, arguably one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. plates / bowls are sticky and unsanitary. meat quality is worst I've ever tasted and some weren't even edible. expectations are generally low for AYCE KBBQ but this place somehow still managed to underperform. Stay the f away from this place at all costs.
google avatar

Ronnie H.

Yelp
We were looking for a KBBQ place and decided to try a new place. We were not disappointed. This might be our new go to place for KBBQ. We love the fact that you don't have to wait for the staff to request another side dish or meat. Yes, there are more expensive meats that have to be requested but the glass noodles, several varieties of kimchee, clams and many other options are at the buffet bar. There's also a downside as you don't pace yourself and might get full off the precooked dishes but the fact remains, this place is beginning to look like it's going to be our top spot for KBBQ. Staff is pleasant and food is on par with any other KBBQ place and we've sampled quite a few here in the metroplex.
google avatar

Aaron L.

Yelp
I took my friends here the other day for their first time and I can assure you that it was not a good first impression. They got the beef bulgogi from the line and brought it back to the table. Unfortunately, what they found in the beef was a metal staple. Fortunately, we caught it before we put it on the grill and ate it. Same with a piece of plastic that we found on our beef belly. Besides the staple and plastic, everything else went fine. Grill worked, service was fine, and the rest of the food was as expected. Maybe don't cut packages and keep staples with the meats next time? Do better.

Yelp
Fantastic experience and food! Came in for the first time w my family for dinner over the weekend and we were not disappointed! We've never done all you can eat quite like this so we were a bit confused until one of the staff explained it to us. We were handed menus upon sitting down, from which we could order a variety of meats to grill at our table. On top of this however, you also get access to the variety of veggies, rice, noodles, additional meats, and soups from the buffet line in the middle of the restaurant. This may be the norm, but as someone used to nyc kbbq (where the staff cook your meats and veggies for you at your table and provide all the sides/sauces), it was a super different, but fabulous experience! We ordered a few of the meats from the menu (pineapple galbi was a standout), and my mom selected a huge handful of meats including shrimp, octopus, bulgogi, spicy ribs, etc from the buffet and everything was so delicious. I especially loved the variety of pickled and/or spicy veggies, kimchi, glass noodles, and kimchi fried rice they offered; everything was a great complement to the meats. Everything was so delicious, even my mom was thoroughly impressed and happy w the food, and she's impossible to please! We will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
We've been to this restaurant several times over the years, especially when it was called Jin's. The quality of food has definitely deteriorated. The grills don't get hot enough so it takes a long time to cook anything. Not as many side dishes, as there used to be, and they are not very tasty. All the meat was too chewy. We both left with stomach aches. Sorry. Never again. the Korean barbecue place in Frisco is so much better. Go there instead.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent service, very good ambience. Food is delicious and had a very different and exciting experience. Celebrating my son AJ Madrigal 20th B'day!

Yelp
First try after they changed name to Bon. I took my team for dinner. They had a great time. Overall, it is good price.

Yelp
How does this place only have 14 reviews?! It's fantastic - my friend lives nearby and we were craving kbbq and landed on this little gem. AYCE for $26 (great price point by the way) with buffet style for appetizers, all your main meats, and cooked dishes. You can also order special meats off a menu through service. Great interior setup, lots of booths, and cooking grill is nice & easy. Needless to say, food was spot on. Meats were all marinated well and they have great seafood options here too!! Their squid is great. The appetizers are tasty (I love their macaroni salad) as well. I'd go out of my way to come back here. It's a small business, and service was fantastic. Will bring my friends again! PROS: - great price point for AYCE - plentiful meats, appetizers, and cooked dishes options - spacious interior, easy cooking setup - staff are friendly and timely CONS: - none! :)
google avatar

Sherry S.

Yelp
Love this place!! Been going here for years! They just changed the name recently but nothing else has change. Possibly management but they're still pretty good. We love the hot food buffet line and the raw meat selection, it allows us to get in and out if we wanted to. But we also enjoy all of their specialty items on the menu to order from. This is an AYCE Kbbq and it's our favorite spot! We drive from frisco to Plano just to eat here. Definitely recommend this place! Especially for first time Kbbq-ers

Yelp
Beef belly was good. Unlimited Galbi is a pretty good deal. Place is clean. Not to packed. Costumer serv pretty good!

Jorge G.

Yelp
It's pretty authentic to actual Korean bbq. Kinda bummy that they charge for 2 dollars for actual lettuce. Overall the meat was good, staff very friendly and attentive. Will be back!!

Cindy L.

Yelp
Previously known as Jin BBQ. Honestly best korean bbq place in the area! Wish it were closer to Carrollton hmart but it's worth the drive. Amazing value- $18.99 for lunch and $26.99 for dinner (as of 9/1/22). Buffet bar style side dishes (everything is so good!) and traditional korean dishes like kimchi fried rice, spicy noodles, japchae, fried dumplings, bulgogi, and seaweed or doenjang jigae. You can order meats off the menu or get your own meat and seafood from the cold bar to grill. Servers are very attentive and change out grills often. I will say the grills tend to be slower than other kbbq places I've tried, but it's worth the wait. Don't forget the ice cream (there was strawberry, chocolate, vanilla, and cookies and cream when I was there)- great way to end the meal! Will def be coming back!

Yelp
All you can eat indeed. Love all the sides and meat is great quality. We love this place
google avatar

Leilani G.

Yelp
It was a great experience with family. We enjoyed the many choices of side dishes and the selection of meats. Will definitely return!!!

Shep B.

Yelp
This place is always a great experience for me and my partner, definitely a staple date spot! We usually end up ordering the entire menu cause everything is so delicious, and being able to cook it to your liking makes it that much better! What made my experience so great tonight however was the service! Hannah was so kind to us when answering our light, she often refilled our drinks and had pleasant conversation with us, often taking initiative when asking if we needed anything. We will definitely be visiting again soon!
google avatar

Tanya W.

Yelp
Nice variety of meats and sides. Service is always good. Love the buffet style set up which is rear in Korean bbq.

Danial L.

Yelp
Awesome place to go get All you can eat Korean BBQ! The food is better than all the other expensive places around. The side dishes are so tasty and authentic! The meat is good quality and hot food is great for taking it to go. Make sure to ask for the shikeh(Korean dessert drink) at the end of the meal and they even have ice cream that you can scoop up yourself. If you haven't tried Korean bbq ever and want to try a little bit of everything or want to celebrate with family and friends for any occasion then this is the place for you!! The staff is very accommodating and overall awesome as well
google avatar

Sheila A.

Yelp
Delicious food and service! We come here all the time and will continue to do so! Try it! You'll live ot too!
google avatar

Rob T.

Yelp
Dinner is $26.99 (their site says the outdated price of $25) and it is a fair price for the meats you can get, which includes 6 cuts of beef (including prime marinated ribeye) and 2 cuts of pork. All their special order meats are very tasty, and there's a large variety of tasty kimchi. Soup bar was also a hit with our group. Only issue is the heating element doesn't seem to stay hot for long (at our table at least) but it wasn't a big deal. Service was tops; very attentive. Definitely coming back!
google avatar

Cisco J.

Yelp
Smell is amazing, grills are clean well seasoned and staff is very attentive. Meat is fresh and tender I love the build your own plate for the simple easy meats to grill up also the ability to grab all your side at once make it great when you're ready to eat. Will definitely be back for more
google avatar

Yelp
Unique offerings as they have a line of food for ponchon and korean dishes such as japchae and bulgogi and spicy chicken. Order speciality meats and / or serve yourself as they are also available to pick up yourself and take back to your table. Great value and price !
