"A fresh Vietnamese noodle and sandwich shop that is prepared with gourmet ingredients and veggies, Bon Me never disappoints. Inspired by the street food movement, Bon Me trucks have taken over Boston, and this brick-and-mortar location combines the expediency of the trucks with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. While there are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here, don’t miss the chance to try the miso-glazed pulled pork sandwich—it’s definitely a winner." - Branding Iron @ Stantec

"Foumami bills itself as an “Asian sandwich bar.” Those are three great words, and the result is sandwiches served on some really good, flaky bread filled with everything from chicken katsu to chili pepper tofu. They’re actually a little on the lighter side, too, so keep this place in mind when you have a two o’clock meeting coming up and you’ll need to at least appear to be awake." - dan secatore

"This Vietnamese fast-casual spot started as a truck and is now all over Boston (in both truck and non-truck form). That’s not surprising, because their signature banh mi are reliably good with soft, light bread, and the selection of noodle dishes gets the job done when you’re not in the mood for a sandwich." - Dan Secatore

"Bon Me — another local chain — has a menu that is full of great lunch options, including noodle and rice bowls inspired by Vietnamese food and other Asian cuisines. Try the kimchi ramen or the restaurant’s namesake, the banh mi. [Counter service]" - Terrence Doyle

Location is by Boston Tea Party Museum. Saw all the good reviews and my daughter loves Noodles. We walked in and I can smell the MSG in here. Daughter ordered a crafted her own bowl which she liked. I orded a bok chop side which I did not like. Wife ordered edaname. Very average

Google
Delicious food, I love the ramp and fun indoor and outdoor chairs. I also appreciate the iPads, which make ordering much easier. I wish the doors were automatic, as they are quite heavy, but I loved the location otherwise! The lemonade flavors are so delicious and refreshing, and because they are well sealed (a plastic seal) they make for easier transport by wheelchair.

Had the pho (chicken though), miso braised pork and some kimchi. Everything was super delish and we didn't need to wait long for the food either. Can definitely recommend this place.

Google
Had takeout for dinner, party of 4. Fast service. Everything was very tasteful, not too spicy at all, even for the meals with 2 ou 3 peppers on the menu. Good portions. Great prices. Will definitely go back for a quick, simple, fast and tasteful meal.

Nice place for a quick and casual Asian meal. We had finished at the Boston tea party Museum and wanted an fair priced easy dinner near the parking garage. This place fit perfectly.

Google
What a fun eatery! Yummy food, fresh ingredients, comfortable atmosphere, and quick service. Not much seating, but people don’t seem to stay here longer than about half an hour. Food would make easy carry-out though as well. We really enjoyed the Namesake bánh mi (so yummy!). The ramen we ordered was also tasty. Would recommend!

Google
All the ingredients seemed fresh enough in the Vietnamese Summer Bowl, but it still felt lacking in overall flavor and the chicken tasted a little on the bland side too. Their milk tea was fine, but the boba was probably sitting out for a while because it didn’t have a fresh, chewy texture but rather a mushy, powdery one.

I go here all the time. Noodle salad with the peanut dressing is fantastic. Or all the sandwiches are good! This place is super fast too, even when busy. They have some self ordering kiosks available that helps to speed that up.

Yelp
Last day of biz trip-I had my eye on this place since arriving in Boston but made more disappointing food choices over my trip. I was initially hesitant bc I never had a pulled pork bahn mi before and didn't know how the flavors would work. Workers were nice and food came fast. What I ordered: Namesake-the description says this was the front runner of the store so after a week of disappointing food exp in the area I gambled and ordered this for my pre flight meal. Having pulled pork in a bahn mi seemed odd to me and I definitely needed a few bites to adjust to the flavor. I don't really have anything bad to say about this bahn mi, once my palate adjusted it was a warm, crispy bahn mi resembling all the flavors I loved. Imo this sandwhich actually had quite a lot of pulled pork(see pic) compared to the veg which was surprising since other restaurants in the area seemed stingy with meat. I agree with other reviews that it's not a "traditional" bahn mi but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Note that the pork is quite juicy and there was a pulled of juice at the bottom of the bag which would have soggied the bread if I didn't eat it in store. Lychee blossom-the new seasonal item on promo. First couple of sips it had a very strong perfume taste after which it felt like a floraly lemonade. The popping bubbles are fun(always are). Overall a decently refreshing drink although idk if I would say it's very lychee flavored Overall a pleasant and satisfying experience :)

Yelp
The Bon Me food trucks are a staple around Boston, and I was happy to finally visit one of their permanent locations. For fast casual Asian food, they get the job done. I decided to change it up from the usual sandwiches and try their scallion tantan ramen. For $14, you get a huge portion of noodles, soup, and protein. For the pork they used the same pulled pork as they do for their sandwiches instead of the roasted charsu pork. Tasty but it disintegrated into the soup. The broth was really fatty which didn't bother me too much. Inside is on the smaller side. There were 4-5 tables with bench and chair seating as well as counter seating. Not much room for big groups and would feel cramped if it was a busy day. Worth a stop if you are feeling a quick bite after stopping by the children's museum.

Yelp
Bought a coffee. Calling it a "Vietnamese coffee" is an abomination of the name itself. Making Vietnamese is also not difficult. There is very little room for errors, but yet, you somehow found a way to make coffee taste this bad while tainted the culture drink of a country. Service is good, but what is good service without good food?

Subha C.

Yelp
Tasty sandwiches!! Pink Lychee drink was awesome. Hint of ginger was surprisingly refreshing!!

Greg C.

Yelp
The pork is not grilled in the "namesake" sandwich. Not good. Like a canned tuna texture instead of crispy char. Bummer. $12 too?!

Alex S.

Yelp
The worst brown sugar boba milk tea I've ever had in my life. Walked by here a few times and finally decided to try it. Never again.

Yelp
So day 2 in Boston for a conference with Jimbo and JewBoy. We needed a quick lunch before the afternoon sessions. Took a quick walk and found this spot near the convention center. It was billed as Vietnamese street food so we thought we'd take a look. Simple interior. Clean. They have ordering kiosks, which we took advantage of. I got the Singapore noodles, and JewBoy and I got pulled pork and KBBQ chicken banh mi to split. The Singaporean noodles had pretty good flavor. They could've been cooked just a little longer to cook off the moisture. I was a huge fan of the chicken banh mi. Great flavor and juicy chicken. I'd give this place a shot if you're looking for a good, quick lunch.

Yelp
Came by myself, so only tried one menu, but it was tasty and the ingredients are fresh! Thats the most important in this kind of restaurant :) I order the gochujang chicken + tea egg, pretty good. Service: you ordered thru the screen provided, and they will call your name when the order is ready, pretty friendly service. Ambiance is good, not too crowded during the weekday, great spot for smaller group.

Yelp
My mother and I walked around the Harvard campus on Sunday and stopped in the Smith Center to try Bon Me. Bon Me serves delicious Asian-inspired eats such as Bánh mìs, ramen, rice bowls, bubble tea and more! For drinks we had their thai basil lemonade and their milk bubble tea. If you love the taste of ginger the thai basil lemonade is perfect for you! But if you are a fan of boba stick with the bubble tea. For food we tried their popular Namesake Bánh mì which was a toasted baguette-stuffed with miso pork, pickled carrot & daikon, cucumber, red onion, cilantro, pork pâté, and spicy mayo. This was my favorite item! So yummy and extremely filling! We also had their Miso Kimchi Ramen which was ramen noodles in pork broth with miso-braised pulled pork, kimchi, soft egg, scallions, and a dash of Thai chili oil. This was also very filling and a great choice after a walk in this winter weather. Check out Bon Me if you are in the Harvard campus area or if you see their food truck nearby (they are in several locations in the Boston area!) Affordability: 8/10 Food: 7/10 Ambiance: 3/10

Yelp
I grabbed a ginger basil lemonade to go and it was so refreshing to drink and walk around in boston. Service was super nice.

Yelp
Great little hole in the wall! Ask for extra sauce if you want a kick. Sriracha on the counters to add as well. VERY FAST service, it was busy lunch rush and both meals were out in less than 5 minutes.

Yelp
Having sampled their food truck, I found the food to be of poor quality, and the staff exhibited rudeness. I strongly recommend avoiding them, as consuming their food is likely to result in an unpleasant experience.

Nicole Z.

Yelp
The pho was delicious! The space is small but enough for a few groups. I didn't see any food trucks so not sure why there is a label there

Anna M.

Yelp
I love love love the Bon Me trucks! Even when there's a long line at lunchtime, the workers have fast efficient correct service down to an art. (I understand that Bon Me treats its staff well, too, and that's important to me.) I've tried most of their menu over the years. Sure the namesake banh mi is good, but I'm most grateful to Bon Me for teaching me that tofu can be delicious! So the tofu rice bowl is always special to me. Bon Me improves any street on which it parks. :)

Brian M.

Yelp
Disappointed Sandwich was a boring meat bomb Noodle bowl was bland and boring Bored help? What happened the tourists wear them out? Used to be good We won't be back

Jeff M.

Yelp
Great, cheap, tasty meal. I love the spicy peanut sauce with miso braised pork over soba noodles. I've had it a million times and will have it a million more! Always get to go- not much of a dining atmosphere inside, but it's more fun to sit and enjoy in the park anyway.

Katharine T.

Yelp
A solid sandwich with fast service at a reasonable price point. Would recommend the Korean style over the namesake for sure if you don't mind some spice

Heather F.

Yelp
I got a "namesake" sandwich (banh mi) at the Boston Market location. I haven't been here in several years ;pre-pandemic) and was disappointed by the the alterations to this once-iconic sandwich. The rendition I ate for years pre-pandemic had a sweet, salty glazed barbecued pork that was divine. Fresh jalapeños were a standard party of the sandwich. If you wanted even more heat, you could ask for extra fresh jalapeños. These, as well as extra cilantro or nuoc cham, were provided at no extra charge. I didn't realize that they had changed the pork preparation until I had the sandwich in my hands. It is now pulled pork and has almost no flavor on its own. No option for fresh jalapeños though the menu screen ( no human to interact with) offered pickled jalapeños as an optional add-on - for $1.17 (!)I declined, thinking that picked jalapeños would overwhelm the taste of the sandwich. The sandwich cost a bit over $11. It was okay. Most of the flavor came from the carrot and daikon salad which was prepared with a version of nuoc cham. The nickel-and-diming over condiments that used to be routinely part of the sandwich was also disappointing. I'm sad that one of my favorite sandwiches has effectively disappeared.

Isabelle K.

Yelp
I ordered from this food truck back in May and was not disappointed!! The Vietnamese Noodle Bowl was delicious. The vegetables were cooked perfectly, and everything was simply scrumptious. I would be careful if you have allergies, as when I asked for an ingredient list for the drinks they didn't have one. Regardless, delicious food and I would go back!!

Ginnette P.

Yelp
The dish was dry hardly any dressing or taste...next time im going to Pokeworks next door...

Christina S.

Yelp
we were in the area and Bon Me was recommended to us by some family. we were definitely not disappointed! the banh mi sandwiches were amazing, the bread crispy and the sauce was amazing. the meat was so tender and it was so good put together! we got the original and the korean style. we also got the thai basil limeade and the vietnamese iced coffee! the thai basil limeade just tasted like regular limeade, but it was still great! the iced coffee was so good, definitely on the sweeter side though, for reference. would highly recommend Bon Me to anyone in the area and when i come back to Boston, i am definitely coming back!

Tiffany D.

Yelp
Heard a lot of hype about Bon Me, so I had to try! I got their Food Truck Fave and their Vietnamese Iced Coffee. The Food Truck Fave was a pretty large portion and had pulled pork. The pulled pork was really well seasoned and extremely tender. The sauce was also very good and complimented and brought together the entire meal. However, skip the Viet iced coffee - doesn't taste anything close to a real Viet iced coffee, it's more like a sad iced mocha.

Jane W.

Yelp
I stopped by Bon Me for lunch while in Boston, and overall had a mixed experience. I ordered the "Thai It Out" bowl ($9.50) which had decent flavors, although the meat was a bit dry. Also, definitely not super authentic if that's what you're looking for. 3.5 stars. What made me lower the review to 3 stars were a few logistic things - the process of ordering food, waiting, and eating were all hectic. The space inside is cramped and I barely managed to grab some counter-top seating (which was made even less enjoyable by the fact that I was basically back to back and shoulder to shoulder with people who were waiting for their food). Overall, glad I gave it a try but not sure if I would go back.

Park G.

Yelp
They hopped on the Ritual bus! Use this app to order ahead and like Level Up, get rewards and discounts. My very first order with Bon Me through Ritual had a $2.55 discount. I also realized that they switched up their menu a bit. Gone is the Five Spiced chicken which was my go to protein of choice. I did however try their newer item this time, Gochujang chicken which is a spicy Korean chili paste. Paired with the sesame dressing over soba noodles and it was a treat! Great addition to the menu.

Yelp
Bon Me is my ideal quick lunch spot in Boston! Creative and fun Vietnamese-inspired cuisine served with a smile by efficient employees on a colorful truck? You can't get much better than that! With trucks parking all over the city of Boston, and a few brick and mortar stores for a more permanent dining experience, there's no excuse not to give this bright and cheery spot a try. I usually either go for the classic sandwich, which is a take on the traditional Vietnamese banh mi, with housemade pate, cucumbers, pickled carrot and daikon, cilantro, spicy mayo, and your choice of meat, or the rice bowl, which is everything listed above with your choice of brown or white rice instead of a sub roll. Both are flavorful, and will keep you full throughout the afternoon as you power through work or school. The meat fillings rotate depending on which location you visit, but you can always count on the sweet and savory Char Siu Pork or the mild spice of the tender Three Cups Chicken to be winners in accompanying your sandwich, salad, or rice bowl. There is also a flavorful tofu option for vegetarians! I've had it, and it actually tastes meaty. Pure magic! Whatever you opt for as a filling, be sure to request extra spicy mayo!!! I am SO addicted to the spicy mayo.. it's more rich, complex, and incredible than any other plain old mayo/sriracha blend. Made in house according to a "secret recipe" (they posted it once on the blog and it's not there anymore - cue my tears of eternal sadness, but That's how good it is. It can get a bit on the fiery side, so do yourself a favor and wash it down with the Thai Basil Limeade, a sweet and fruity refresher with an added and unexpected layer of earthy basil. The perfect balance to what is arguably one of the Top Ten "Certified Morganic" Condiments in Boston! The side choices are also as unique and well crafted as the main dishes, and the standout is the Deviled Tea Egg. A Vietnamese take on this retro appetizer from the 50's, this hard boiled egg is soaked in black tea to infuse the mellow flavor, halved, and served with a generous dollop of the aforementioned spicy mayo. Bet ya can't eat just twenty! Next time you're on lunch break, and want to add some pizzazz to your work day, check out Bon Me! (And get that spicy mayo!)

Chilly P.

Yelp
Um, I don't think they should call their sandwiches bánh mì. It's a sandwich that tasted NOTHING like bánh mì. It was a baguette with an overload of under flavored meat (I got the red curry chicken). The pickled veggies and pate tasted bland, bland, BLAND! And where's the cilantro?! I'm all for creativity but if you can't get the basics of a bánh mì down, adding different proteins to the mix isn't gonna help. Also, I have no words for their Thai tea other than WTF. There's something totally off about the flavor and color. This is the most genuine one-star rating I've given simply based on food. The service is friendly and sadly, that's the only thing they got going for them.

Denise M.

Yelp
Bon Me on Boston Commons rocks! $8.00 lunch with gluten free chicken, rice noodles, muesli greens, carrots a a jalapeños. The fresh cilantro was a lovely added surprise. Take in the sunny day and a shaded umbrella seat listening to the piano man and I'd think I was on vacation!! Should have done this long ago but tend to be too busy at work but will come again for the lunch Mon/Wed. If you haven't tried it, give it a shot. Street food isn't for everyone but I've been converted!! Says something right there. Best lunch time spent this far in the summer of 2016. Thanks Bon Me for helping me take time to remember to enjoy the day!!! Summer is short. Live it up!

Taya A.

Yelp
My GOSH, their pork banh mi sandwiches are absolutely phenomenal. The veggies are perfectly pickled, the meat is perfectly cooked, and the bread is perfectly crispy. I would eat one a day if I could. They're THAT amazing.

Nick D.

Yelp
I came to this place in search of a quick delicious fast food asian option in Boston of which there are not many that are outside of chinatown unfortunately. This location is very central right near Copley Square and has a great variety of options to create your own bowl or bahn-mi. My complaint is that the pork was too hard/chewy and the ingredients did not have the authentic flair I had expected nor wanted. Also as enthusiastic and nice as the girl at the counter was she was extremely inexperienced and could not help me figure out what to order what a shame!

Kim M.

Yelp
Waited a long time to try the Bon Me truck and it finally happened. Of course for my first time, I had to try a sandwich - which is also the cheapest option to enjoy your choice of filling. Wanted to try the miso braised pulled pork but being true to my Taiwanese self, I tried the filling of the day - three cups chicken. Unfortunately, the chicken was dry. The crispy bread and perfect spices and pickled vegetables made up for it though. Lesson learned to go with my instinct next time. Also tried the Devil Tea Egg - I love deviled eggs and Tea eggs so why not? It's definitely more "deviled" than it was "Tea". Nonetheless still delicious - like I said I like both types of eggs so it was never really a loss. Look forward to my next experience either going to have a redeeming sandwich or get my rice or rice noodle bowl on!

Rebecca K.

Yelp
Bon Me has brick and mortar shops and food trucks downtown Boston. This review is for the food truck I got my lunch from at PO Square on a workday. My office is conveniently nearby so this food truck is a great option because the nearest actual restaurant is a little too far away to get to over lunch break and actually be outside to enjoy my lunch (instead of taking it back to my desk). This food truck has all the options the restaurant does! I love the soba noodles with tofu, peanut sauce on the side. It is delish! The food comes in a sturdy paper take out box (recyclable and biodegradable) so easy to eat anywhere. The soba noodles are cooked perfectly and served chilled. The tofu is cooked so it's firm yet moist and with some spice to it. It's a yummy protein option when you don't eat meat. There are extras to top onto your salad or noodles or rice ... I tried the crispy and tad-bit spicy chickpeas, which also adds some protein. Plan to spend $11 - $15 for a filling meal. Yum Yum.

Yelp
almost wetted my pants seeing a bon me truck parked at the plaza by the aquarium during the week back last summer when i was in the area for a training. gladly jumped in line and forked over money for something i thought would be a very happy meal. while the items offered on the menu sounded really enticing, the actual dish fell flat. felt like something i could easily whip up at home. quantity-wise, felt like i needed just a couple more bites after I emptied the plate, and i'm not a big eater...these days (lol). there weren't that many things they offered to begin with, operating per the format of Noodle Co. and SA PA : pick a protein + pick a carb + pick a dressing. there were maybe 2 or 3 choices in each category. the drink (basil lemonade) and coconut lime panna cotta sounded interesting, so i had one too. the expected kick were quite subtle, almost undetectable. was a cute idea and all, but with all the 5-star reviews out there, i had expectations and sadly they weren't met. would be back if i crave an Asian fix.

Patrick S.

Yelp
I've enjoyed the Bon Me food truck in Dewey Square for many years, primarily because the Namesake sandwich was delicious and a great value. The standout ingredient on the Namesake has always been the pork belly. I recently returned the office and was excited to have that pork belly again, but now the Namesake comes with pulled pork instead. The pork was fine, but it's nothing like it used to be, and it's pretty deceptive to make such a major change to the sandwich while keeping the same name.

Kristen L.

Yelp
Namesake sandwich - A fantastic sandwich for under $10. The sandwich can easily be shared or half can be saved for lunch the next day. Crunchy bread, seasoned meat and veggies. I added some sriracha sauce only because I love extra heat and I love sriracha but the sandwich doesn't need it since it flavorful.

Graham P.

Yelp
Had this truck's version of Bon Me recently and did not enjoy it too much. The bread used was amazing, the meat was pretty well spiced, but the proportions were all off. Way too much filler of carrots and daikon without enough meat for a 10 dollar sandwich. There was also an odd pate of sorts inside that was not listed and was not my thing.

Christine H.

Yelp
BonMe never disappoints! My go to is the salad with miso lime dressing and half chicken/half tofu for the meats. Plus side along with the big portions of fresh veg and meat is that they don't charge for extra meat. I've only been to the food truck in Dewey Square and the set up is easy to navigate - order, pick up from the window and then add sriracha and get your utensils. My one gripe is that they don't accept levelup at the truck - it's only accepted in their standalone restaurants. On a warm day, plan ahead! The food trucks and BonMe are packed at lunch time - be prepared to wait 15 min at peak times.

Dylan H.

Yelp
Great Ramen! Loved kimchi and pork taste! The soup base is miso; kimchi has the unique spicy/salty and fresh taate; only problem was that the eggs weren't marinated and a bit undercooked. Basically the yolk was all runny. However everything else was perfect!

Jennifer W.

Yelp
Stumbled upon them when I was adventuring in Boston, so I figured I'd try it. I ordered a Thai iced tea, and it was delicious. There was a faint taste or something I couldn't quite put my finger on, but my only complaint is that I wish I had more! If I find them again, I'll definitely try other items on their menu!

Mike D.

Yelp
Bon Me won't disappoint you, but it also won't blow you away. I've had most of their menu across several locations; what you get at one Bon Me is going to taste the same as what you get at any other Bon Me. They mainly sell four kinds of dishes: Sandwiches, salads, rice bowls, noodle salads. SANDWICHES: These are the classic bánh mì sandwiches that Bon Me is named after. One of my favorite foods. Personally, I look for three things in a good bánh mì: crunchy bread, cold + crisp vegetables, cilantro, and a slightly spicy sauce. Bon Me hits all of these points, so I'd call it a passable sandwich, but it could be improved. The bread is crispy, but the sauce isn't viscous enough. It ends up pooling on the bottom of your sandwich, soaking the bread and dripping everywhere. It could also benefit from more daikon radish mixed in with the carrots. The sauce is lightly spicy and definitely flavorful, but again, too watery. All in all, it's a good sandwich. Fix the problems above, and it's a great sandwich. SALADS / NOODLE SALADS / RICE BOWLS: These are all in one category because they're extremely similar. You have a main ingredient (lettuce, noodles, or rice), with a protein and a bunch of toppings. If you go with the salad or noodle salad, I suggest the miso lime vinaigrette. You won't be disappointed with any of the proteins. None of them are over-the-top, in-your-face with flavor, but I'm assuming may be to allow the other ingredients in the bowl to come through. If they have it when you go, I recommend the Suchuan Peppercorn Chicken, or the Miso-Braised pulled pork. They have a rotating list of special proteins, so be sure to go back every now and then and try something new. PRICES: You'll end up spending between $8-9 for lunch if you don't get a drink, which is average Boston lunch price. For the food you get, it's an average value. You won't leave hungry, but you won't leave over-stuffed; the portions are well thought-out. SERVICE: The staff is always polite and happy. Even with the (very) long lines, they manage to crank out tons of food relatively shortly. I'd try to go before 12PM, preferably around 11:30AM, if you don't want to wait in a line.

Jeremy K.

Yelp
Saw this truck at SoWa a couple of weeks ago and couldn't wait to get in line to get my banh mi on... but left both disappointed and frustrated. While the truck is both stylish and offers a very unique twist on Vietnamese food, with a great concept, the execution is poor on their part... Despite the long lines, I quickly moved to the front and was able to chose and customize my sandwich. I overlooked the tempting pate, mostly because I was trying to get my girlfriend to try it and there was just no way with pate in it. I decided to get their BBQ pork option with the works - pickled carrots, daikon, cucumbers, cilantro and a spicy mayo. Along with it, I selected a Thai Basil limeade. At $6 a sandwich, it's pretty damn expensive for banh mi! I've never paid more than $4 while in Chinatown but I was starving, really wanted to try it and decided to forego with the plan regardless. I'm Jewish but NOT THAT Jewish... haha. Anyways, while the limeade had interesting flavors, it had way too much ice. It was a real scorcher of a day, with 90+ degrees and within 4 sips my drink was gone leaving me with a cup full of ice... Oh well. I moved on and decided to dig right into the sandwich. The baguette was stale, the pork dry, the BBQ flavor was... weird? A real calamity of a sandwich. I'm sure that it was miles away from what the Nom Nom truck serves up in California. Banh mi can be exciting. It can be delicious, but apparently not at Bon Me. I honestly didn't enjoy it and nearly halfway through I decided to through it out and get something else at a different truck. The one thing that the truck has going for it is that the food comes out fast and their menu is extremely flexible. And by that I mean that you can get either sandwiches, a noodle salad or a rice bowl with their 3 different fillings which makes for some interesting and easy combinations. The prices a bit high but then again, other trucks in SoWa charge a bit themselves as well. All in all I was not impressed by it at all. Looks like I'll have to trek to Chinatown for sone banh mi goodness.

Yelp
I have to say that Bonme in Boston has changed since it first opened. I come from a family restaurant background so I know the difference and I was disappointed in my meal today. I purchased the chicken with rice, carrot salad and salad. Now, what makes Bonme so memorable is the flavor, the taste and the care taken in packaging...it's just delicious and is my favorite Boston lunch place, but, I went in today and when I opened my box clearly not the same. The flavorless dry chicken was thrown in I ordered extra protein, didn't see it, the rice was cooked differently, the carrot salad WAS NOT like it usually is, this time it was dry flavorless, the cilantro was not like it was before...now it was long vine cilantro, before you could see the herbs, nicely chopped no vines....I mean the few scallions, zero passion given to the aesthetics, so not like before, it's not the same the salad was thrown in...no dressing.....I mean the food was bad. But I did notice a change in employees.....this meal had no passion put into it, it was thrown in, the flavor was bland....whoever made it ....sorry doesn't compare to the former crew. I distinctly remember....the food was NOT in anyway like before and I hate to say it...but it's a lack of appreciation for food...it's the food that made Bonme memorable...when I saw my food getting heated in a microwave I was shocked. The carrot salad that staple...dry no flavor, the salad literally thrown....the rice microwaved....I can say. I see this often in restaurants. The lack of passion for tasty food....it's as if there's no thought into the creation of delicious food....it was NOT there.....when I went there was a crew, that had pride in serving, boxing and serving it out. Today I could tell just by watching the woman work ....she had zero passion for the integrity of the FOOD ...ITS THE FOOD THAT BRINGS PEOPLE BACK...honestly my food was awful and the worker just doesn't get it....I'll never go back.

Yelp
It is what it is. I love Banh Mei sandwiches! Maybe I'm bias. Where else I'm gonna be able to get a Banh Mei sandwich (also Vegetarian option), Thai Basil Limeade & authentic Tea egg snacked right on the grass of Copley Square. I only wish this food truck would followed me around!

Yelp
Tried their bon me sandwich I thought was pretty average. Decent bread, okay meat, and some pickled veggies. There are better food trucks

Yelp
Bon me makes a good lunch! I went to the food truck by south station and had a noodle salad. I got the soba noodles with the Chinese BBQ pork and spicy peanut dressing. Overall it was quite tasty. The food comes out hot and fresh and relatively quickly.

Yelp
Pouring rain today so I knew I could avoid lines! Grilled Pork Banh Mi - like someone said, it's pretty skinny and long. Doesn't taste too extraordinary, but definitely retained the Viet essence. I think if they made a stronger, distinct pate and didn't make the pork too salty that it'd be more balanced. Rice bowl: I got the BBQ Tofu which tasted more like plain tofu mixed with veggies and rice and plain soy sauce (I didn't detect sweetness or bbq?). However, I still liked it. I think it's a filling lunch, and mm fresh veggies. So kudos to really fresh ingredients, biodegradable forks, and bringing Viet food to the truck-world in Boston. I can tell this tips towards the soy-sauce palette, but it doesn't claim to be authentic. It's good for what it is. I'll probably be back for the bowls.. Imma pass on the banh mi, but hey.. I'm Viet so I'm critical. More like 3.5 star place, but I can't do half stars now - can I?

Yelp
Bon Me offers a très bon bahn mi. (sorry, I had to) My first experience with this food truck was at the WGBH Craft Beer Festival in July 2013. I was volunteering at the event, and they provided each volunteer with a coupon for a $3 sandwich. My vegetarian friend raved about their tofu option, and I opted for the pork. The meat was very well marinated, and the sandwich was extremely filling and fresh. This was my first experience with this type of food, so I can't comment on its authenticity, but it definitely hit the spot during a beer-drinking session!

Yelp
I've been getting lunch at the Bon Me food truck parked by Rowe's Wharf for years sometime two or three times in the same week. Generally have had a good experience. However, today was a different story. I received a pretty light portion of food. I asked politely if I could have a little more chicken to which I was greeted with the response of (insert condescending and annoyed tone) "hey, this guy wants more chicken!" from the employee to the "manager". He told me that I received a full scoop of chicken (4 oz) (their max for a regular meal, which had I have known for a $10 dollar "lunch" I would have stopped eating their a long time ago). He also stated that an extra scoop would cost two dollars more. After being a loyal customer for years I found this lack of customer service and food portion absolutely ridiculous and won't be going back. Avoid if you actually want a meal to eat for lunch or dinner!

Yelp
In love with the rice bowls here!! Large servings with decent price. Char Sui pork and shredded pork are my favorite meats. Be sure to ask for spicy mayo on the side, it totally makes or breaks the dish. The sandwiches are also great!

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised by my first banh mi (a classic Vietnamese sandwich). I ordered mine with no cilantro and the curry pulled chicken. The sandwich bread was toasted to perfection, and the curry chicken was very flavorful. Even though I'm not a big fan of pickled vegetables, the pickled carrots here were delicious. I had two big complaints. Firstly, there was a bit too much chicken - the meat-to-filling-to-bread ratio was not great. Also, there was a lot of drippings (likely as result of curry chicken), and though the sandwich was in a bag, it dripped all over me while eating. Overall, I quite like the Bon Me experience - coming from a food truck was I was very happy to have this banh mi. It definitely hit the spot, and is great if you're looking for a delicious sandwich on the go.

Yelp
UPDATE (Second Experience): After getting invited back to try a new dish, I went to the store in Back Bay and ordered the namesake which was delicious. Crusty toasted baguette, delicious pork meat, and then crunchy veggies made this a delicious and filling sandwich. This place has clearly has great customer service too! I'm glad I gave them a second chance!
