Bon Ton Prime Rib

This is what a real steakhouse should be. The service is excellent, our server knew all menu items without having to look at notes. The place is “classy”, and the food is very good. We had the Cajun bacon and the Bon Ton Oysters. Both of these were incredible. For mains, we ordered the Cajun Steak (ribeye) and the New York Strip and asked for Cajun seasoning on this as well. The steaks were cooked exactly how we ordered it… my only issue is that the seasoning is very salty which made the steak less enjoyable than it could have been. For sides we ordered the onion rings and the Rib Roast Lyonniase. The onion rings are some of the best, crispiest I ever had, the Lyonnaise dish, is a chopped potato dish with beef fat and beef trimmings…. This was not that great and did not justify the price. The drink options are extensive and our waiter was pleasant and skilled. This is a very good high end restaurant.

Bon Ton consistently delivers what I consider the best prime rib in the city. The crust and meat are deeply flavorful and cooked to perfection. The BBQ shrimp were also top-notch, and I have yet to have a bad meal here. The cocktails are excellent, and the atmosphere becomes lively as the night goes on. Although it has been taken over by Chophouse, I still prefer this location and experience.

Had reservations for 9p. Were seated just before 9 and told we came at the perfect time, assumed we were there during a smoother time.... their kitchen closes at 9. We were never rushed. We were given recommendations for food and drink. The food was delicious. Staff was very attentive. Our waiter was George, our bartender was Jace. We had the Cajun bacon, crab cakes, drinks, filet mignon, ribeye, broccoli, cheese mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. We loved it all. Staff gave us recommendations for other places to go. I am writing this from Bearcat which is also amazing. Grateful to Bon Ton for a great evening AND morning.

My wife and I just ate here for the first time. This was by far the best service we’ve received from any restaurant. Once we arrived, the valet, Joey, was already ready to take our vehicle. Joey treated us like we were royalty. Once we made it inside, the host seated us to our table where we were greeted by Zach. Zach is by far, one of the best waiters I have ever been served by. Zach knew the entire menu, in detail. I was able to picture the food while he described it. S Class waiter. The food was very delicious. We got the Oysters and Cajun Bacon for appetizers. Broccoli and crawfish Mac and cheese for sides. I had the Prime Rib. The Prime Rib cuts like butter and melts in your mouth. My wife is pregnant so she had to get the Cajun Steak, well done, which she still enjoyed. Thanks Zach and Joey. We will be returning.

Best meal in a long time. Our incredible server Bradley didn’t appear surprised when I told him it’s likely the best prime rib I’ve ever had. Classic wedge was large enough to split. House-made blue cheese olives in my dirty martini were bangers. Can’t wait to return.

Had dinner with colleagues before conference. Very tasty prime rib! Stand out appetizer like bacon on clothesline. The sides were plentiful including mac cheese with crawfish, and this sweet corn bread thing which was decadent. Definitely place to go for high end satisfying meal! Stop by. You’ll like it!

This was really an outstanding experience all around. We made reservations, but chose to sit at the bar. Our bartender/waitress was personable, helpful, and literally on point the entire time. The food was amazing! Wedge salad, prime rib, loaded baked potato, key lime pie. I have nothing to say but thank you. Me and my husband have eaten at many restaurants over the years and dare I say, this is top 3 as far as food and service goes. Highly recommend!

I went to Bon Ton for my 40th birthday. I loved everything about it. The food was perfect. Our server was so kind and funny. They even brought me a birthday dessert. Top tier service. I highly recommend going. Get the crab cakes and Cajun ribeye. You will NOT be disappointed.

This was a great date night spot! Lots of people celebrating birthdays and special occasions. Top notch service! Initmate setting with great vibe. Food was absolutely delicious. Probably the best crab cakes we have ever had in our life! The bacon was a little too well done for my taste, but still good and very nice presentation. Ribeye steak was also excellent. Will be back to try their prime rib next time!

We visited Sunday evening. Had the king cut prime rib along with the shellfish bisque and the Caesar salad. Side were the loaded baked potato and the charred brussels sprouts. I would not recommend them...way over charred which killed the taste of the sprouts. The potato was very good. The bisque was excellent. The king cut prime rib which we split, well not the best and it cooled off quickly. The au jus flavor wasn't there. The service was excellent!! The ambience was good but the place is very loud and hard to hold a conversation. Probably would not return, but don't let me stop you from trying Bin Ton. And I'm sorry we didn't make pictures. Enjoy!

The good: * Char-grilled oysters topped with crab meat: Absolutely phenomenal. Perfect seasoning, cooked just right. 10/10. * Redfish: Another standout -- fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. 10/10. * Drinks: Well-made and balanced. * Service: Staff was incredibly polite and attentive from start to finish. The not-so-good: * Bon Ton Cajun Steak: Disappointingly bland -- no real seasoning, which is a big miss for a steakhouse. * Crawfish mac & cheese: Sounded amazing, but came out flavorless and flat. Wouldn't recommend. * Cheese Mashed Potatoes: straight out of a box. Watery with no flavor * Ambiance: Nice setting, but very noisy Bottom line: This place has some true gems (those oysters and redfish are worth the trip), but it's hit-or-miss depending on what you order. If you go, stick to the seafood and cocktails -- skip the steak and mac & cheese.

My wife and I stopped in on the recommendation of the bartender at the rooftop bar at The Roosevelt. Terrific recommendation! Happy we got a table early as the place was fully packed by the time we left. We opened with cocktails and a bottle of wine. For a starter I ordered their Bon Ton oysters. Cheese, garlic, butter, and oysters! How can you go wrong? For our main courses, my wife ordered the filet mignon with blue cheese crumbles while I ordered their Cajun steak. Both steaks were supposedly cooked and well presented! For a side dish, we ordered their cheesy mashed potatoes. That side dish is cheesy, huge, and delicious! Somehow we've packed in a dessert as well. All and all a terrific dinner with a superb steakhouse feel in New Orleans!

My wife and I throughly enjoyed this steakhouse on our most recent date night. The ambiance was romantic and cozy with lots of candlelight. The service was top notch and vallet parking was complimentary. The food was very good as well.

While I was in town, this came highly recommended. Visited on a Saturday night, highly recommend a reservation. It is very popular. Décor is great and food was phenomenal. My friends and I only wanted to just have some drinks and snacks. So we sat at the bar. We had some prosecco. Ordered the chargrilled oysters, onion rings, french fries, loaded baked potato (which they do table side) and crab cakes. Everything that came out was wonderfullyprepared. The staff was really great and friendly and interactive. Didn't get a chance to try the prime rib, but it is on my list to come back and try.

Went for a girls dinner, sat at a cozy booth by the bar. Samuel was our server, besides being an amazing server, his personality was phenomenal and his suggestions were on point! We started with Belvedere dirty martinis, they were perfect! For appetizers we started with the Bon Ton Oysters, a definite favorite! Also had the Cajun bacon, it was full of flavor, not salty, and each slice was thick! I had the 8oz filet, cooked a perfect medium rare, my girlfriends had the 12 oz prime rib and they loved it!! For sides we shared the charred Brussel sprouts, heavenly! Also, shared the crawfish mac & cheese, very tasty! For dessert, we had another round of drinks! Overall experience was exceptional! A must have while in the Big EZ!

Fantastic evening. Great food; prime rib was perfect. Great steakhouse vibe and music.

I feel like this place needs to come with a cardiologist's warning, because it is so rich and salty. That said, it was delicious! The Barbecue Shrimp was probably the best I've ever had, a good amount of heat and when paired with the salty-sweet Cajun Bacon it was even more incredible. The Caesar Salad was a little rough- it was basically dredged in paremsan which made the salty cheese about the only thing you could really taste. The Prime Rib was MASSIVE- it said 12 ounces, but looked like 5 pounds of meat. It was excellent, and the fresh horseradish was great on it. Along with the gigantic Loaded Baked Potato and the Grilled Broccoli, it was a meal that left me feeling like someone needed to wheel me out in a cart. Extremely heavy, salty and decadent. Additionally, our server, Trae, was wonderful. Patient and attentive, despite it being a packed Saturday night. The service pushes this to a 5-star experience, and was worth every bit of the hefty price tag!

WOW! It has been so long since I have had a piece of great prime rib that yesterday, I was reminded by Bon Ton Prime Rib of why this remains my favorite thing to eat it when it is prepared correctly. Their Prime Rib is "almost" as good as the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. That said, with their amazing garlic oysters, corn casserole dish, stellar service by the staff, & warm feel I would take Bon Ton over the House of Prime Rib if I had only 1 last meal before I take my last breath on this planet. Bon Ton's reminded me of just how bad the Prime Rib options are in San Antonio (the exception of Boudro's which is good) and I feel sorry for the people who will never know how good Prime Rib can be. Absolutely stellar restaurant, you they should make Bronze statutes of the chef's & I hope they are fairly compensated for their excellence,

Wow! The staff was very welcoming and attentive. Beautiful wood work and crisp white linens, not a large place so it felt cozy and warm. A couple recommended this place to us while we were visiting, and man, we'd wished we got to stay an extra day just to have it again! We started with the bbq shrimp, which was lovely....but that wedge salad promptly stole the show. Love a good steak house...and that salad was done perfectly. The Cajun bacon was also delicious. We had the regular cut split, You can cut the prime rib with a fork, that's how tender it is. They grate fresh horseradish right on top, such a simple and elegant way to elevate the experience. I'll never be able to have it from a jar again. That butter cake...is worth every dollar of that $35's....every stinkin' penny! Do it!

I was in the mood for prime rib which I enjoy maybe once a year. First time here. Pleasant, nicely decorated space with a large bar. Excellent service by our waiter who was very professional. I like my PR rare and they only had medium rare, but it was fine. Great sides and toppings. Elegant. Clean bathrooms. Valet parking but we parked on street. Extensive wine selection. A lot of tourist business. Disappointed to see so many very casually dressed people dining in a fine restaurant, wearing baseball caps. For God's sake, people. My only complaint was the music selection of classic rock. Which I love at the gym. It wasn't classy or hip. Reeked of Boomers (I'm one myself). I mentioned it to the two young women who greet folks at the door and they looked at me like I was from Mars. I do not want to hear KC and the Sunshine Band when I'm spending a ton on dinner. Jazz would have much more appropriate.

Hands down the best place we have eaten at in New Orleans! Service was top notch from all the staff. Food was amazing! We be back next time we visit!

This review is regarding an experience we had on 12/14/24 while traveling to New Orleans for a 35th birthday. Our reservation for 8 was made weeks in advance at 7:30P, and we were seated at 10P. During our wait, we were told we were waiting for one of two tables that could seat us (information that wasn't shared during the booking), so the communication was there. However, when it takes 2.5 hours just to be seated, and the staff know this is a risk, this is information that should be disclosed earlier. After spending roughly $300 in the bar while waiting, we were seated and informed we'd be comped for appetizers. Once we ordered our food, it would be another 45 minutes until our entrees arrived which was hard to understand because the table ordered mostly medium steaks & two grilled fish, so the length of time we waited didn't add up. Upon arrival, our steaks were cooked at different temperatures. My steak in particular wasn't even medium rare, and I ended up not eating the meal I'd waited 3 hours for at that point. Our party enjoyed the fish, the shrimp appetizer, and the cheesy mashed potatoes. Our waiter was nice, but the service ruined the entire experience. We traveled from out of state looking forward to this reservation, and it isn't an experience we'd recommend to anyone. For what it's worth, our party agreed this was the best espresso martini we've ever had, and we still wouldn't recommend a big group come here. Even for small reservations, I'd confirm their availability for your group size before showing up.

Everything was packed but we were able to grab seats at the bar. I loved every bite, the service was great, check out the pics. The oysters were covered in parm garlic panko. One of the best things ever!

We had a great birthday dinner for my dad last night! Was excited to hear about this restaurant and get a reservation so early on in there existence. Right from the start, we were really made to feel special by the hostess, Erica. Our server, Claude was sensational! Super attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Our dietary needs were accommodated (and trust me there are lots of people with allergies and different diets in our family.) There was something on the menu for everyone. Don't skip on the prime rib, obviously. But everything else was good from the fish to all of the different sides, especially the brussels sprouts. Dessert was absolutely insane! Despite all of the food being so good, the people were what really made it for us. We'll be back soon!

Far too expensive. How can any please cost more than $130 for an entree, with sides costing an additional $13 a piece? I just find this to be absolutely distasteful, divisive and disgusting. Eat the Rich instead!

Tonight, we dined at Bon Ton Prime Rib, and it was an extraordinary experience. The prime rib was the star of the show--cooked to perfection, tender, and bursting with flavor. We paired it with cheesy mashed potatoes and a comforting corn casserole, both of which were delicious and complemented the meal beautifully. For dessert, we chose the butter cake, and it was absolutely phenomenal. Warm, rich, and perfectly sweet, it was the highlight of the evening and the ideal way to end our meal. What truly made the experience unforgettable was the staff. The young man who served us took perfect care of us--his attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine warmth made the evening even more special. Absolutely fantastic service. The ambiance of the restaurant was elegant yet welcoming, making it a place we'll undoubtedly return to. Also, we loved the music selection. It was a soft, pop, classic kind of rock e.g. Fleetwood mac, Paul Simon. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines outstanding food with impeccable service, Bon Ton Prime Rib is the place to go. The service was excellent. Zack was attentive and observant. The oysters were delicious, Brussels sprouts were tastie and the sauce for the onion rings was exceptional. The prime rib was a complete failure, twice! First prime rib had no color at all second prime rib was overdone too. I didn't want to send it back a second time so I just let it sit. Our server Zack saw that I wasn't eating the beef and informed the manager who visited our table and asked if everything was alright. I explained that my partner and I both had over cooked prime rib and she took the items off of our bill. I won't be back and I can't recommend this place.

I really enjoyed this restaurant. Everything was top tier and definitely worth every penny. Along with excellent service.. expect great food. The drinks were top tier. I orders the Bon Ton Cajun Steak, and the Brussels sprouts. The steak was cooked to perfection and my Lemon Drop with Tequila was delicious and strong lol. Well worth it. The ambiance is welcoming yet intimate. The decor is warm and sexy for sure. I think this restaurant is great for any occasion.

We had a dinner here a few weekends ago. Loudest restaurant I've ever been to. Service was really good. We had a tragedy in the family and had to leave immediately in the middle of dinner. We only ate a little of our meal. Wife barely touched her filet. I ate about half my prime rib, it was average. Full cocktails left on the table. Manager came outside to give us a bill as my wife is crying on the side of the restaurant. Didn't take anything off or offer anything, just I'm sorry and good luck. $350 meal that we barely ate. It was a horrible night. Server was great though. We won't be back

Fab-u-lous! Ambiance, service and of course, the food! Daniel was my server and introduced me to my new go-to martini. The Corpse Reviver #2 - pictured below. Stunning old school decor, but all renovated and clean. Just dark enough. And the background music is perfect. '70's '80's '90's. And my ultimate measure, clean beautiful bathrooms. Don't miss this place when in New Orleans. Oh, the owner has a beautiful Staffordshire Terrier pup.

Good, better, best! 10/10 Highly recommend. I was skeptical, as this is a pretty new establishment. Went Christmas Day, so they ran a bit behind on reservations. I'm giving them grace because we also overstayed our welcome as we celebrated with family that day. They communicated well and realistically so we were happy to oblige. Will definitely go back as the food was amazing and the ambiance was classic.

If you're looking for the perfect blend of upscale dining and genuine hospitality in downtown NOLA, Bon Ton Prime Rib the spot. Small with great Atmosphere. The star of the show, no surprise, is the prime rib--perfectly seasoned, slow-roasted, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. I went with the "B.T. Cut" and it was absolute perfection, paired beautifully with horseradish cream and hot Au Ju! Wow. Sides like nothing else in town and plenty to share! The wine list is equally impressive--thoughtfully curated and offering an elegant range of varietals that complement the menu. On point! But the soul of the entire experience? Gabby at the bar. Her precision and consistency when it comes to crafting high-end cocktails is off the chain. She doesn't just make drinks--she builds them like an artist, each one perfectly balanced, handsomely presented, and exactly what you didn't even know you needed! Without Gabby, it's a great restaurant--with her, it's unforgettable. Ask for her by name. Sit at the bar. Order a cocktail. Thank me later.

Went on a busy night, the chargrilled oysters were great, the Prime Rib-not so. Three of us had prime rib and 2 had steak. The three of us all had the same opinion/conclusion on the prime rib - it was extremely chewy/ tough and not at all tender. It can only be cooked one way, so that wasn't the issue. The two that had the steak, loved the steak.

What a great place for a lovely dinner or special occasion. We ended up going on Thanksgiving Day due to not wanting a turkey dinner... and boy, did we pick right! AMAZING steaks! DELICIOUS oysters! PLENTIFUL sides! Staff is very enjoyable, even on Thanksgiving Day they were helpful and cheerful. I will be back... I hope my photos do the food justice - TRY FOR YOURSELF !

I was lucky to make a return this pass weekend to New Orleans one of my new favorite foodie cities. For our first night we decided to make reservations at a new steak house called Bon Ton Prime Rib. The exterior restaurant with red brick walls and elegant booths gave it a warm feeling. Our waitress was super friendly and gave many good recommendations so we decided to start with crab cakes and for the main course, the New York Strip. We also ordered a variety of different side dishes that included lobster Mac and cheese, onion rings, cheesy mashed potatoes, and a baked potatoes. The crabs cakes were mind blowing it contain chunks of real crab in top of a tasty Dijon mustard sauce. The steak was full of flavors and very tender the best steak I had in a while. The sides were also fantastic with my personal being the gooey Mac and cheese. For dessert we had a lemon meringue pie, which gave us a perfect ending for our meal. Wishing Bon Ton many years of success because judging on our experience it should gain a good spot in the New Orleans food scene.

we worried that we didn't pick the right spot for a late dinner. we live in the quarter and wasn't sure to what to expect but every thing was great. Samantha told me to add the shrimp to the steak and my wife got the fish. oystres were the best next time id get 6 for me

Phenomenal! The food is 5 star!! I had the BBQ shrimp which was exactly what I was looking for. I had the prime rib, my sweatheart had the New Orleans spiced steak- both were fantastic, just as we ordered! Our waiter was supurb I wish I remembered his name, but just GO! Excellent everything. We celebrated our anniversary and they made it super special We'll be back!

Made reservations in advance. We were greeted at the door and promptly seated. Not a bad seat in the place! The atmosphere was quiet and nicely lit with out being too dim. Our waitress was Brooke and she was great! Very attentive and helpful with any questions we had. The door was delicious, and the portions are a good size! We wouldn't hesitate to eat here again and will definitely do so! I can't believe they have only been open for 2 weeks, the entire staff was crushing dinner service!

Went on Dec 25th for Christmas birthday dinner. The manager was professional and personable, accommodating us after a reservation mix-up, even though it was probably the busiest day of the year. He stopped at our table for a friendly chat, and to check on us himself. The hostesses were beautiful inside & out, greeting us, and everyone who walked in, with bright smiles & pleasant attitudes. It may sound corny, but I mean it...they were so sweet, and they looked like models. Plus, they had the best work ethic with a full house and full reservations. But no one waited long, this place was run perfectly. All guests were joyful, no grumpy faces waiting for tables. We, and others waiting, were all chatting w each other. Lovely ambience. Everyone on staff was smiling and accommodating. Seriously, my teen said we must've walked into a Hallmark Christmas movie. "Sweet Caroline" was playing when we came in, Christmas music sprinkled in the playlist. Staff sat IN the booths as they changed tablecloths and settings at perfect angles. Exquisite detail to everything, but not stuffy and pretentious. I had the perfectly-spiced Cajun Ribeye, cooked exactly medium rare, as requested. 1 lb baked potatoes are dressed tableside. Shellfish mac was made w/, I think, radiatore pasta - creamy and so dang good. Too much to list... Splendid everything, including a cocktail recommended by our attentive and knowledgeable server. Go eat here, and try everything!

I cannot say enough great things about Bon Ton Prime Rib! I will start with the staff. Our server Quiana was absolutely amazing who catered to our every need with a smile! Next is the chef Jarred who cooked us a fantastic prime rib that was the best I've ever had. And finally was the assistant manager Henry who came by to make sure everything was great and it was. The entire staff ensured that our meal was great and it couldn't have been better. It was so good we are going back for the second night in a row!

Terrible food and terrible service by Brett!!. Do not waste your time and money. Prime rib was not flavorful and the Brussel sprouts were an absolute embarrassment!! Crawfish Mac and cheese was laughable and sad at the same time! I'm begging you DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Service is spectacular and the place is lovely but the prime rib was not great and the Cajun steak was way too much spice even for Cajun - like they were masking a repurposed piece of prime. The wedge salad was delicious but they need to figure out the reason you are going there the steak

Best meal I have ever had!!! Started off with a wedge salad then ordered the filet mignon! My husband ordered the Cajun steak with the thick cut bacon as an appetizer. We shared the crawfish mac n cheese as the side! When I say it was the best meal I have ever had, I am not exaggerating! The filet was so tender and had so much flavor!! The crawfish mac n cheese was amazing!! Our waiter Claud was outstanding! The entire evening was flawless!!!

Food was delicious and service was spot on. We visited this restaurant for me and my brother in laws birthday. We tried some really great things in the menu starting with an old fashion and the broiled oysters with crab. We shared 3 sides the corn casserole which i HIGHLY recommend, the Brussel sprouts and the crawfish macaroni and cheese. The also gave us a complimentary chocolate cake.

We chose to eat here on our first night in New Orleans. The ambiance was nice. we didn't have any reservations but we came on a slow night so got seated immediately at a table of our choosing. We hostess was a delight to talk with and gave us some great suggestions. Unfortunately the meal disappointed. My son was disappointed with Prime Rib. I ordered the Bon Ton Cajun Steak and all I tasted was burnt seasoning and lots of salt. The charred brussels sprouts which were described as cajun style just tasted like burnt brussel sprouts. The waiter kindly replaced with them steamed broccoli, unfortunately these were also over cooked and falling apart with absolutely no flavoring. The only good news was my wife was happy with here order of BBQ Shrimp.

Amazing customer service, beautiful atmosphere, and the food was prepared great. We accidently order the bon ton prime Rib, it was our own mistake as we are incapable of eating that large of steak even for two. We were prepared to spend, we just didn't want to be wasteful but I guess we went all out and ended up having leftovers to go. It's definitely wonderful place to try out, just our own mistake lol.

Anyone giving 5 stars to this place MUST be from FAR AWAY. If you came here for New Orleans food, DON'T. $21 for five slices of bacon---a very Savannah BREAKFAST thing. HMMMM $25 for six what appeared to be canned oysters with some sort of mystery topping. HMMMM A relatively good wedge salad. Totally mediocre crabmeat au gratin. Totally mediocre small piles of crabmeat served on an oversized platter with some sort of sour sauce. Gooey crawfish (where's the crawfish?) Mac and cheese.. Burnt broiled Brussel Sprouts HMMMM WELL POURED pricey DRINKS. S L O W service with surrounding parties arriving after us and served before us. And arguably testy responses when addressing concerns to the wait staff. The only thing that arrived on time was the $$$$$$ ticket. And what's with the blue Jeans, sandals, tee shirt, ball cap dress code? The place is yet another high priced out of town disaster site. You'll get better New Orleans food at Hal's in Atlanta.
