Bonchon Is Finally Frying Spicy Korean Chicken in Stapleton - Eater Denver

"The wait is over for fans of the international Korean fried chicken sensation Bonchon. After summer-long delays, Denver’s first location of the franchise has finally opened at Stapleton’s Northfield development, 8302 Northfield Boulevard, Suite 1590. For those who don’t know, Bonchon sells made-to-order crispy wings and drumsticks coated in a soy garlic or spicy sauce. Sides such as pickled radish and kimchi, and more plates such as pork buns, bulgogi, and bibimbap are also on the menu. Bonchon Stapleton offers alcohol, too, with $3 craft beer and $4 cocktail specials during evening and late-night happy hours. Denver resident Henry Lee is bringing this and one more Bonchon to Denver, with the second location yet to be announced. The Bonchon franchise is based in New York with more than 200 locations around the world. Diners will find Bonchon Stapleton open during limited hours this week, with normal hours coming next week. For now, customers can dine in from 3 to 10 p.m. Thursday, from 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. For more hours, check the restaurant’s Facebook page." - Josie Sexton

The signature sauce is flavorful . The chicken needs to be fried a bit longer because the crust is plentiful .Chicken fried rice was on point .Location not ideal in winter . When patrons open the door it’s freezing .They won’t let you sit in the back away from the door even if nobody is sitting at the much larger table .

I used to love Bonchons, I started using uber eats to order. The first few times the chicken was cooked Golden Brown & Crispy, I ordered it again today thinking it would be better, The chicken strips were very greasy and not fried well. To have it delivered was almost 50.00 dollars with tip. So sad, it was supposed to be my Sunday dinner, Never again.☹️

I ordered drumsticks and bibimbap. I asked the server 2 times if there are side dishes with bibimbap, as in San Francisco, Seattle and Seoul I always get side dishes like kimchi, reddish etc. anyway, he lied. No side dishes and I’ve been craving kimchi. I also don’t like eggs done this way, if should be a whole egg. But egg is fine. As for chicken, crusty but it didn’t feel like Korean bbq chicken. Maybe I’m spoiled. Overall, it was fine. I wouldn’t have even written anything. It’s just I hate it when people lie to me unnecessarily

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this time I had to. As an appliance technician, I visit a lot of commercial kitchens — and these guys have one of the cleanest and best-maintained kitchens I’ve seen. That’s exactly what you want to see when you walk into a real restaurant. Great management, too. P.S. I’ll probably start leaving more reviews for places like this — because trust me, it’s not common.

The food is fantastic. Sides, mains, everything was well cooked and seasoned. Sadly, this restaurant needs a DEEP clean and left me concerned about the state of the back of house. The walls are grimy, the switch plates in the bathroom were stained with fingerprints, and my seat faced the attached view of fly encrusted cobwebs. Yikes. If they got the cleaning in order this would easily be a 5 star review

I was personally mixed on the food, it was good but nothing special. The chicken wasn’t terrible, but greasy, WAY TO SAUCE DEPENDENT, and lack of seasoning. I’ll be back to give em another shot eventually, but it wasn’t the worst.

Recently dined at Bonchon Central Park around 8:45 PM and had a mixed experience. We ordered the chicken wings and bibimbap. The wings were a highlight—crispy and packed with flavor, just as we hoped. However, the bibimbap was lukewarm, which was disappointing and not what we expected. On the plus side, the service was attentive and friendly, adding a nice touch to the evening. Overall, while the wings were excellent, the temperature of the bibimbap left something to be desired. I’d consider returning for the wings, but I hope for a more consistent experience next time.

First time to this company today, it was really great. The food from appetizers to dessert was great. Highly recommend the potstickers to start. The dessert donuts and sauce were amazing as well.
