Bonchon Farmington Hills

On a business trip and was hungry for some Korean fried chicken. Definitely would stay away from this place. Ordered 6piece wings and drum. First it was under cooked and the batter was still raw and runny, second the wings were size of dinosaur or something where did they get this type of wings? I called 3 times no answer and 4th time I got hung up. Waited like close to 15-20mins and food was very disappointing. The guy was on his phone when I came and very dull. Already disputed with my credit card company. Stay away from this place.

This “fried rice” was absolutely disgusting. It was extremely oily, basically a pool of oil mixed with rice porridge. The texture was greasy, mushy, and completely unappetizing. There was nothing fried about it — just oil, oil, and more oil, with rice clumped together into a slimy mess. I genuinely felt sick looking at it. If a restaurant can’t handle something as basic as fried rice, they really shouldn’t be serving it at all. This was infuriating and completely unacceptable.

Solid korean fast food, for a good price. The yangyeom sauce was a lot more gritty than I'm used to, but it was still good. There were lots of to-go orders (good sign?) that got priority over eating in, so our food came in a trickle over a long time. I'll need to get it to go next time for sure.

I waited too long for a 6 wings and 2 Drums. It took an eternity. Wish me “luck” with the food. Definitely not big expectations

First time trying this place and I was very happy with my choice! Chicken wings are really crispy and very flavorful. Signature chicken sandwich was decent. I need to take another trip to try other items. Must try!

Worst food I have ever had in a very long time. No flavors, overpriced, stingy on portions. It take ALOT to have me write a petty review like this. I am genuinely pissed off about my experience and want my money back. Shut this place down immediately. Do not eat here.

The chicken was really good and had great flavor. I've been to South Korea and the comparison is spot on. The only con I have was the price seemed a little high.

My drink was forgotten but I reminded them and got what I thought was a root beer. It was root beer flavored seltzer. 12 PC BONELESS Sauce Soy Garlic - tasty but tiny Coleslaw - Okay, had a weird aftertaste JAPCHAE - Fantastic, 10 PC STRIPS Sauce Half & Half Half Soy Garlic Half No Sauce - The Soy Garlic was okay,but the plain were salt free and bland. Shockingly bland. Pickled Radish - Tasty PORK POTSTICKERS 6 Spicy - Tasty but fiery! Spicy is no joke. BULGOGI FRIES with no Spicy Mayo - My favorite dish, delicious! KOREAN STREET CORN - The corn and onions were flavorless, the cheese was non existent but tgecspice wax nice. The food was okay. The soy garlic didn't have a tin of flavor and the non-sauce chicken was bland. We are unlikely to return, Kimchi Box is vastly better in every way.

Ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The bun was toasted and tasted of butter. Regretfully, the chicken tenders were tough and stringy. I was putting up with the texture because the spicy sauce was ok, but then found a small hair. Pulled it off and inspected the rest. Likely a one time issue. Would skip coming back due to the jerky like texture of the chicken. I have had better sandwiches elsewhere.

Aside from the weight of the food (I do always enjoy a weighty to go bag) and even though I've moderately enjoyed a couple other meals from here before, tonight's was a disaster. Starting with asking the order taker whether or not I could get tofu with the bibimbap and him saying, "yes if you put it on at home," one thing was worse than the next. They also got part of the order wrong. Pickled radish is not coleslaw. And, the coleslaw that they put in as a side dish, basically had nothing besides cabbage and carrot, with minimal dressing for flavor. My fried chicken sandwich was terribly fried and seemed like it had been around for a couple of days, almost impossible to chew. It was all really bad, even if it did weigh a lot!

Funeral faced, unfriendly cashier, soggy wings, not enough sauce, overpriced. Won't be back. The other Korean wing place in Troy is MUCH better.

It's freaking Bonchon! Back home, there was a location over in Berkeley. Coming to the Midwest, I somewhat forgot all about Bonchon. How I came across this location, I couldn't even begin to say, but boy am I happy. The cashier was super friendly and helpful. I ordered the 6 wing combo and an order of seasoned fries to go ($20.16). Super amazing, tastes amazing and more than enough food for one person.

It's a chain, first one I have ever seen in MI, so far. May be short lived after this visit. They need to work on food execution and their customer service skills, it's non-existent. We ordered the Spicy Chicken fried rice, 12 boneless wings with spicy sauce, pickled radish, kimchi, kimchi coleslaw, japchae with chicken. $57.77. Mostly a twice fried chicken spot and brushed on sauce too. Charged us for 12 piece bone-in wings instead of 12 piece boneless wings. The boneless was $3 cheaper. The slaw was so-so, as was the pickled radish and kimchi coleslaw. The kimchi was just ok, it's a bit more mature than I prefer and the flavor was just average. The japchae was lack luster, not super flavorful and lacking in mushrooms and veggies for me. The spicy chicken fried rice wasn't too bad, had good heat. The boneless wings came out on a tray, lined up like soldiers and with barely enough sauce to cover even half of one side of the wing. The tray was so bone dry after picking up two boneless wings, a telltale sign they gave us almost no sauce. I asked another staff member if they could give us a side of sauce or at least more sauce on the boneless wings. She said that's how much sauce comes on the wings and they can't give us more. Wow! Lacks customer service here. I was quite put-off by the staff's resounding no to my request for more sauce and took the tray back to the counter and asked to either give us a refund on my boneless wings or give us more sauce on them. The first staff member that waited on us said she would speak to the back kitchen and gave us maybe slightly double the first round of sauce, quite pathetic still. The spicy sauce tasted decent at least. I had to wait for my refund for the price difference of the $3 and had to ask about it a few more times before leaving as well. They are unbelievably cheap about saucing their wings and boneless wings here for sure. Bad idea for a chicken place in my opinion. I haven't ever been to another wings place that was so deliberate in giving customers as little sauce as possible, just to save a few pennies. Even Noori and every other wing place knows well enough to sauce it up or go home. They should take some lessons and queues from their NYC location, the picks look like they follow their franchise model and execution.

We got Doordash from here today, I had heard very good things and had been wanting to try it. Overall everything was good but not mind-blowing. My favorite item was the chicken sandwich with coleslaw, we got it with the soy garlic sauce. Like others have mentioned, the sandwich and the wings aren't super "saucy"... We also got the 12 pc of boneless wings with the same sauce. A friend told me their Regular sauce is a bit spicy, just FYI. We also got the onion rings and garlic and parmesan fries. The onion rings had a nice crunch and the fries were also good but could've been crispier. Bonchon is pretty expensive... For our four items it was about $45 before doordash fees and tip. I wouldn't rush back anytime soon - I'd like to compare to Noori in Clawson, actually - but next time I'll probably try dining in.

Great, great Korean food with a spicy twist. This is our 3rd time in two months. Excellent and fast service, very clean, a Farmington secret too be shared! Try the Mac& KimCheese! The cole slaw is excellent. Boneless wings are great and great low prices!! Enjoy. Open 7 Days a week so you have no excuses to enjoy the Best Korean Fried chicken flavors!

Was very excited to hear the news that there's a Bonchon franchise here in Michigan. They specialize in Korea's version of fried chicken, which is lightly breaded, deep fried, then hand-brushed with thin coat of their signature soy garlic or spicy sauce. We came in around 530pm for dinner. Waited in line and finally reach the only counter/cash register. We placed our order and paid the check at 540pm. Our takeout meal of 8pc chicken wings half and half was received at 645pm. We were told it was a 45 minute wait but turned out to be an hour. Instead of waiting inside the dining area, we walked out then went to Aldi to buy groceries. When we came back there, still the order was not ready. Spent $21++ for 8 pc chicken wings, an ounce of coleslaw as a "complimentary" side, a special side of Mac kimchi (in a 10-12oz paper cup) and a plastic bottle of peach tea. Was it worth the wait? Yes and no! The spicy sauced chicken was good. The soy garlic chicken felt rubbery when I took a bite. Maybe because of the weather, or was it because the service was too long that the chicken turned cold. It was no longer crispy when we ate it. Loved the peach tea. Although the noodles were tender, There was not enough kimchi in the Mac kimchi. A lot of people are standing in line, and some are sitting while waiting inside the small dining area. No social distancing. This location may not be the safest place to eat during this COVID times. The tables and floor needed to be wiped clean. The quality of their food is not as great compared to other Bonchon locations from abroad. It's either because of the cold weather that affects the crispness of the chicken. Also, the kitchen looks too small to add more equipment, and the limited kitchen crew is overwhelmed with orders. There might be a potential to improve the quality of their food during summer, and the service becoming faster once the crew gets a hang of their job during the peak times/demand. Highly recommend ordering the spicy sauce wings. Waiting time...terrible! Your patience is encouraged. A lot of irate customers is expected.

As Korean places go, this place was fine. I don't think of it as anything special, and I might give it 3.5 stars if Yelp allowed me to. The service itself went smoothly, and we weren't waiting for our food too long. The food itself was a bit pricier than we thought it would but, and the portions didn't feel like it matched the price we paid for them. I wouldn't exactly say that you're getting the best bang for your buck with this place. The portions felt like they were enough for one meal (which is fine), but the total cost felt like I should have had some leftovers. We also tried the spicy chicken sandwich. Fair warning, this one can have a little more heat than you're expecting (compared to something like Chic-fil-A or Popeye's). Just like everything else on the menu, it was fine. Honestly, I was a bit disappointed with the food here. I think Metro-Detroit has better Korean offerings at a better value. It's worth trying at least once I think, but definitely not worth driving out of the way for.

First time I went to this Bonchon location the famous wings were perfectly crispy and flavored with sauce. My friend and I would definitely have given the place a 5 star rating for the chicken. But the chicken was a bit dry when we did takeout the second try when I ordered food from there. It was lacking in the sauce that it's dipped in. The 3rd time I went recently, I tried the boneless wings and wasn't impressed. And the regular spicy wings that my friend ordered weren't even crispy or looked like they had battering on them. But the bulgogi loaded fries were great! So that's why I am giving a 4 star rating. I am hoping these past few times were a fluke, but it's not living up to its reputation for chicken.

I'm all about it... KFC baby!! Korean Fried Chicken We ordered the wings,, so yea... let's get to it. Gyoza - Deep fried with the soy garlic dippy sauce. PurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrFEKT! Soy Garlic - This is super delish. Definitely perfect for the non spicy eaters. Spicy - This is also super delish. My favorite out of the two flavors they offer at the spot. I can eat this with the rice all day. The wings were seasoned perfectly and the crispness is superb. I suggest eating it right away since temperature of the dish is critical to its favor vibrancy. I adore this place. This is one of those chains you don't really see very often around these parts. Therefore whenever I see one, I go for it. The service was also very good. So, I am rating this solely on my experience and not my wife's. For some reason, I decided to try the soy garlic chicken sandwich. The cashier asked if I wanted to make it a combo with fries, so I did. They featured Stubborn sodas which were amazing. The food came out fairly quickly. The customer service was great and efficient. When we got back to our hotel, I dug into my sandwich and it was amazing. I wish they would've been a little more generous with the soy garlic. My fries were a bit cold, so that was a bit disappointing especially since our hotel was down the street. Unfortunately, my wife got sick after eating her wings. She said that she realized that her food was never hot, so she feels like her wings had been sitting. She is done with Bonchon at this point and I feel a little bad for bringing her here. Soy Garlic Sandwich 1-5=4. Fries 1-5=3. Stubborn Cream Soda 1-5=4.5. Customer Service 1-5=4.

i came back and it was just so good i had to share. IDK HOW THIS PLACE ISNT FAMOUS ITS SOO GOODDD AND FRESHHH. everything is made per order and i love it. order everything.

My niece and I had a huge ordered and ordered it as curb side pickup at 12:18. Pick up time was 12:45. We got here at 12:30 and waited. 12:45 rolls around and still did not have our food. My niece went inside to ask them about our order, and they said it will be a few minutes. 1:03 rolls around and still no food. We keep seeing people going in and out with their order that they ordered inside the store. This made us pretty frustrated. She went back inside and it is now 1:05 and still no food. Why would you have curbside if it takes this long. This is very unprofessional for a business. I should have just ordered inside it will be so much faster. I will update about the food later they ever make it

Hot & New in Farmington Hills Was excited to try @bonchonchicken as there is a lot of hype & the food selection (Korean based) is something a bit different from the rest. The highlight was the mac & kimcheese. Cheesy mac & cheese with a little tang from the kimchee. It was really delicious! Their signature is the chicken sandwich - 2 chicken fingers topped with kimchee coleslaw & I chose the soy garlic sauce, served on a brioche bun. Sandwich was good but not great. The bun was hard in some areas & I honestly expected the chicken to be more flavorful. Kimchee coleslaw was good. Seasoned fries were decent. It's a new place & they are very busy. Trust me when I say don't just show up & order. My order took 38 minutes. Use their app & order ahead. Would I return? Yes, at some point. I'll pick a different main course & order ahead.

I found the 3 times I have been the food was hot and fresh. The customer service could be improve. It depends on who is working, but other than that it was good. I order my food onsite and carried out.

Bonchon! Popular Korean fried chicken chain finally opened here in Michigan. Due to the hype I made my way over to finally try it out. Currently, the wait is long just because the grand opening was on the 29th. So, I am sure the staff is trying to get used to everything and getting inundated with a lot of customers. Staff was super friendly, but I can tell could use more help. The wait was well worth it though I know a lot of yelper's are complaining about it like they can do better given the situation and giving 1 star ratings...really??? The garlic seasoned fries, soy garlic, and spicy wings were delicious! The double fried provided that crunchy skin and moist center chicken. Unfortunately, I didn't try the other items on the menu during this visit, but I will be sure to stop by again. Fried chicken is 3 out of 5 stars. Customer service is 1 of 5 stars. Sauce is very sparingly used. There are many Korean fried chicken places in the USA, this one is by far the lightest sauce. Seems like they are trying to skimp. Ordered only wings, no drum sticks. Only drum sticks and 1 wing came out. (Ordered 24 pieces). When asking why they just said they don't do just wings. The f*ing menu gives you options to order wings OR drum sticks. Why are you making that a menu item and not honoring it? False advertising. Customer service will make or break a business. If it wasn't for the horrible way I was treated I would come back for the "fast food" chicken because it's close to where I live. When asking for sauce on the side, I offered to pay and the girl from the kitchen just yelled out "NO, WE DONT DO THAT!" The cashier looked surprised and just said, "I guess we can't do that..." Seriously!? Please find pictures of menu showing the options of wings, drum sticks. Do better. This chain in Vegas failed recently. That should tell you about the quality and service. I mean look at the reviews for this place 2.5 star average. I mean how do you do so bad..?

The chicken was so burnt, I thought they forgot about it in the deep fryer. $24.33 for 8 burnt chicken legs. Service was offending, they didn't want to take the chicken back. I will never eat here again.

Kinda a hike from us (A2/Ypsi), but ecstatic to finally eat here. I've heard so much about this place. We ordered 12pc chicken wings 50:50 soy sauce & spicy. Japchae, coleslaw & pickled radish for sides. The chicken was crispy & full of flavor. It's honestly worth the hype. Japchae was okay, a little more flavor will give it more umpf. Also, I was expecting the regular yellow pickled raddish. Lol sides were alright. They have other food available that I'll try next time. Also, they have an interesting soda flavors. Interior is minimalist & clean. Restrooms are huge, gender neutral & has diaper changing stations. they also have a high chair that I like. (little man fit snuggly). Hopefully they'll open another store near us.

Easy to order online, thought there was a curbside option but had to go into the store to pickup. Just a heads up, prices are higher on food delivery apps vs. the actual bonchon site. We ordered the family pack, expecting that the 2 complimentary sides would be enough to share. We also ordered extra sides just in case. We were shocked when we got home and looked inside and the sides were in tiny plastic cups that weren't filled. Only enough for one person, definitely not a family. I've been to other Bonchon in NYC and Chicago and been satisfied, but per previous reviews and my experience, this location doesn't seem to be interested in providing the best customer experience for customers to want to return. Do better Bonchon. I won't be returning for a while, and if I do, I will only be ordering the chicken, which was a solid 3.5/5 and only redeeming aspect.

Glad I finally made it here to see what all the fuss was all about! I'd have to say, it was just ok. Maybe my expectations were too high? Maybe I ordered the wrong entrees? The food was a 3 but their pleasant and helpful employees up front pushed them up to a 3.5 but in this case I'm not rounding up. They are located in a strip mall and the restaurant itself is cute inside and interior is clean, but it is on the small side, thinking this is more like a carry out location. The menu looked intriguing and I was torn as what to order! The japchae looked interesting but it has mushrooms in it, can't stand them. But I figured I should start with the 'basics' so I ordered the tenders (went with the garlic soy, thought the hot might be too hot?). Guess I should've done half and half? I ordered their spicy mayo to dip them into and it was ok, not that hot nor that interesting of a flavor. The coleslaw that accompanied the wings was really good and the side of mac & kimcheese was flavorful (had a wee little kick to it). I'd probably try their fried rice on my next visit!? So I'd definitely come back, and try some different dishes, and would be more inclined to go again once they open a location closer to where I live, but I probably wouldn't drive 30mins out of my way again.

My order of 12 pieces of flat wings came late, and was all drumsticks despite my order specifically being for flats. They also forgot my fries, and to sauce my wings. The customer service has been terrible when I reached out and I'm completely disappointed with Bonchon.

I spent 42 dollars on your food and I have one word for it "Horrible". I bought: chicken tender - tough, no crunch at all, and barely any flavor on it. chicken wings- tough, no crunch at all, and barely any flavor on it. seasoned fries- soggy and no flavor at all. My kids and I noticed this immediately. This is my 4th time at BonChon. 1st time great, 2nd so so, 3rd time meh, this time horrible. This is not as advertised. Change or close please. Nori Korean Fried Chicken is consistent every time. This Farmington Hills, Mi location is a problem.

Went here probably about an hour before they were gonna close. The guy at the register was super nice and said hello. But after our order was taken he said that it would have to be take out. I am all about respecting and making sure someone gets out of work on time. But it was not like we were going to stay over the closing time. That is the reason I took a star away. Everything else was pleasant and the staff was super friendly. The food was amazing and we had a lot of left over and when reheated was even better! Yummy! I would recommend going there if you have not tried it. It is a different take on chicken wings and the sauce. And the crispy-ness of the chicken was amazing.

Looks like Bonchon had a rough opening and the rating is paying for it. Hopefully they stick around long enough with better service to win people over. Stopped by this afternoon and had a half n half strips meal with pickled radish. Soy garlic - pretty good, spicy - legitimately spicy! Really good flavor on the spicy as well. If I ever got a sandwich I'd probably go the spicy route. As some others have mentioned, it seems a little light on the sauce but I thought the flavor was still there in spite of that. No, it's not a Buffalo Wild Wings bathing in sauce situation. All told, I'd definitely return. Interested to try the kimchi mac n cheese.

I was told that I'd have to wait two and a half hours for an order. Based on the Yelp reviews so far, it's not worth that long of a wait. I decided to eat somewhere else.

So they delayed the scheduled opening of this place one whole week for some reason or another...and they *should have* delayed it for a lot longer, based on what I experienced when I went there at a completely non-rush time: 2:45PM in the afternoon. You cannot get a much more "should be easy to impress" time than this: there's no lunch or dinner rush anywhere *near* this. And yet, pretty much dismal failure on their part. Be prepared to wait. Apparently, the chickens they serve roam free in the back and for every order, they must then try to *catch* said chicken first, then kill it, de-feather it, butcher it, and double fry it. This takes an abnormally large amount of time, which is the only reason I could think of to understand why, dead in the middle of the afternoon, the line was to the door, said line *never moved* while I was in there, and they had, count 'em: *one* person taking orders. For some odd reason, there were a decent number of people inside willing to wager that they'd receive food sometime before their next birthday arrived...and I just don't have that kind of time. All types of other ordering (online, phone, etc.) are apparently down, too. Good grief: YOU ARE NOT READY TO BE OPEN. There. I said it. I feel better. Here's a tip: shut down again. Hire more people. TRAIN THEM BETTER. Learn how to be efficient. I guess this is why some franchises fail so gloriously and spectacularly: because it's assumed that all you need to do is dump some money on a nameplate franchise and the world will beat a path to your door, desperate to put money in your hands. I can assure you that this is *NOT* the case, and it'll be a heck of a long time before I'm willing to let you waste my time again. Want me to pay them a compliment? Sure: they are located right near many other, better places to eat (including Burger King which shares the same parking lot...), and with easy access to get back on I-696. You'll need to, unless you have Rip Van Winkle-type time to kill. Failure is, apparently, not just an option, but the goal, and they're succeeding in hitting *that* goal in spades! Korean chicken is available many, *many* other places in the general area. Choose them, instead. You will be happier as a result. I apologize for not taking a picture or two of the line and the crowd. Rest assured: if you want to see them, just stop by any old time! They can't even get things right DEAD IN THE MIDDLE OF THE AFTERNOON. Do not reward them with your time, and *certainly* not your money. For shame.

The restaurant should make a change on their menu to tell the customer on how spicy they want their food as it looks like its mine as well as theirs's chief complaint. If Bonchon offered chicken that offered NO SPICE AND MOIST CHICKEN. I would come come back and give them another chance for a better review, Like I offer all restaurants as everyone has an off day.

I've had Bonchon in Chicago and enjoyed it so I thought I'd check out this new location since it is so close to where I live. To my surprise, I was rather disappointed. I ordered 30 wings - half soy garlic and half spicy. I received 27 wings and the sauces were subpar to put it lightly. The soy garlic flavor was incredibly salty and the spicy sauce had nearly no other flavor rather than spice (also very heavy handed with the spice). I had also ordered the sharable side of mac & kimchi. The side was extremely small for $9 and was very bland.

Went here today for the first time. To be objective, I tried a bunch of different things including soy garlic chicken, spicy chicken, soy garlic chicken fried rice, katsu, fries, and Mac and Kim cheese. As stated in the name of the restaurant, their specialty is fried chicken and it was definitely the star of the show. The original soy garlic version was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had and is the backbone of my 4 star rating. The spicy was also very good, but didn't quite have the same depth of flavor. Katsu was very good, fries were were uniquely crispy and delicious. I really wanted to like the Mac and Kim cheese, but it didn't have much flavor and the portion size was ridiculously small for $5. The worst thing was the fried rice. It was very bland and kind of dry. So to summarize, when you go to a Korean Fried Chicken restaurant, order the fried chicken. You definitely won't be disappointed! I was surprised that the overall menu was kind of limited compared to the main website. No octopus or shumai dumplings. They definitely need some more inspired appetizers and sides. Next time I'll just be getting the chicken and I'll definitely be coming back. I highly recommend ordering ahead of time through the app. Otherwise you'll be waiting a really long time.

I am a huge fan of Korean fried chicken and of this chain. Overall, I was pleased to find the the texture to be on point, but have to echo some of the sentiment about the the lack of sauce. It has to be understood that most Korean fried chicken is made to order, so long waits seem to be common place. If you go here or any other place that makes this stuff, you can and should order ahead, or you will be waiting. Absolutely, worth a try and I hope the iron out service wrinkles as they settle in.

New restaurant blues Used to have one by our old house. This location is challenged. Can't order online - website message says they can't take an online orders at this location? Can't phone in order - phone goes to corporate headquarters? Limited Menu to boot? Walked in told 50-60 min wait for small order, unacceptable Bye

This place has genuine Korean Chicken wings and drumsticks. Spycy sauce is my favorite it is a bit hot though. Chicken sandwitch is really good.

Terrible the food here not good at all especially when compared to the one in Troy. Service is poor as well I called to notify them about the food and it went nowhere. They chicken is not cooked the same as the other locations and I will never go here again.

The chicken is really good and really fresh. The customer service is outstanding. The manager was so nice and welcoming. Even though the chicken is a little pricey six wing dings for like almost $11 we really enjoyed it. Now I have to go back and try their Korean tacos.

Very yummy! I had heard of this place before and meant to try a long time ago. Service was fast and the staff was friendly. Be warned that their spicy wings are incredibly spicy- not normal buffalo. Their fries are incredible and their chicken is beautifully crispy.

Over breaded and overpriced. It was nothing to write home about. Just Okay, honestly !

We got the combo. That was the only thing I ate that day. I got food poisoning later that night. Spent 45 mins non-stop vomiting. Never again!

This was our first time trying and we will be returning. Fresh and delicious. Spicy chicken is perfect! We tried the Korean Tacos, House Fried Rice and the Veggie Pot stickers, all were perfect. Not the fastest place but very much worth the wait.

Something has changed since they opened sadly . Now they have smaller wings with more processed meat for the same price.. even the packaging . For the small amount of food it is not worth the price . I would have gladly given this place 4 stars about six months ago, but they have made some changes and it is no longer with going.$27 for 20 wings is WAY too much !

I went there for the first time on Wednesday, 7/6/22. I walked in, said a cheery hello to the lady at the register and just got a blank stare and she started looking at her phone. When I asked if I could order, she just looked up at me like I was crazy and said, "yeah. Go ahead." Well, okay. I really wanted to try this so I dismissed her rudeness. But then she had a coughing and sniffling fit almost the whole time I was there, only to sometimes cover her mouth by pulling the front of her t-shirt over it. I was extremely grossed out (regardless of Covid) but I had already paid $18 and didn't want to seem like a "Karen." I finally got my food, a spicy chicken sandwich, fries and drink ($18!!!). It was okay. The fries were good, but the chicken had some tough edges. It was good, too, but I feel like it wasn't worth $12. I finally said, in a half-joking manner as the coughs persisted, "hope that's not Covid, but I guess I know where I caught it if it is." Lady insisted it wasn't and said it was just because she was hot and walking back and forth and that she was a smoker. Whatever. Haha. I did not catch covid, FYI, but it was a pretty weird experience.

I had Bonchon once in New York and I would say I was pleasantly surprised that the quality of the chicken was very similar (aka it was very juicy). It is definitely on the busier/popular side so I would recommend ordering ahead. I have gone twice since it has opened and each time, it has delivered a delicious meal. I don't have a high spice tolerance so I have gotten the soy garlic wings and soy garlic chicken sandwich (with a side of fries). But I would say that the soy garlic chicken sandwich is my absolute favorite. I even had friends try both the spicy and the soy garlic chicken sandwiches and prefer the soy garlic chicken sandwich. So if you come here, please take my advice and get the soy garlic chicken sandwich (but also try the other food items too).

Cruising through Yelp today and came across BonChon. After reading several reviews, and they all seem positive, I feel I have to put in my two cents. I was excited to try this place as it is very close to my home, and I am a big fan of spicy Korean food. A couple of weeks ago, we ordered take out, just a simple order of chicken strips, Cole slaw and French fries. I was astonished at how bad it was. The chicken was completely tasteless, the slaw was boring, and the fries were completely greasy and limp. Disgusting. The delivery guy also said he had to pay an extra $1.00 to the restaurant because they mis-calculated our bill and the lemonade my wife ordered was an extra dollar. I made a rule to not stop visiting an establishment based on one meal, so they will get another chance, but the first meal was a complete failure.

The food here is honestly so delicious. I love the Korean bulgogi tacos but the wait was a bit long but it was honestly worth the wait. I can tell that the staff was a little stressed out from how backed up the kitchen was but they still all held a positive attitude!

I almost never leave reviews, but the fact that this isn't at least averaging 4 stars is a crime. Bon Chon is ridiculously tasty. The fried rice, the dumplings, the garlic soy chicken, the slaw... sooooo good. I always order in advance and I've never had any issues. Bonus... they offer curbside. Highly recommended!
