I’ve been to a few different bonchon locations across the world, but this one was just ok. Chicken was fried crispy, but the drums on some parts were very dry and the meat had pulled away from the outside of the chicken. Flats were very fatty as well so not the best. Overall it was ok, but not the best.
In addition, the soy flavor we got was very salty.
We also ordered the japchae and the pork belly bao buns and both were just ok. Pretty standard for any asian place, nothing too unique flavor wise.
I give this 3* because it’s just fine. I’d come here if someone invited me, but I don’t think i’d come back on my own.
Both my husband and I had stomach aches about an hour after finishing our meal, and are still feeling the effects a few hours later. We eat korean food like this all the time and never had an issue, and the only thing we both had today in common was the Bonchon fried chicken. Do with that info as you may.
Also to note, we were only 2 people dining and we were charged an automatic 18% gratuity. Be careful when you go to pay, because on the signature receipt when you pay with a credit card, it does not tell you again that you already tipped and suggests 18%, 20%, 22%, amounts at the bottom. Don’t tip twice unless you mean to.
Kind of sad this place was just average because i was looking forward to finally having a bonchon in south florida.
