Bonchon Troy

Never heard of seen Bonchon before, but mother suggested we go as bao buns are one of our favorite dishes. Needless to say they did not disappoint! The pork belly was delicious and super tender, the slaw and sauces on top were perfect and the bun was super soft! Korean street corn was good there’s only cheese on top but the hot corn melts it and it’s definitely a treat to eat! Sotteok Sotteok was amazing! Rice cake had the perfect slight crisp and sauce thankfully wasn’t very spicy. Highly recommend I could only eat one of my buns as they are pretty big so 3 would be enough to share with sides! Definitely coming back for buns again and need to try the soy garlic wings

Honestly small portions for $14-15 meals, and the wings especially are very small for the price. Food is pretty good but it shouldn't be this expensive. The rice doesn't come with any meals needs to be added for $2 extra. I doubt we'll be back without some lunch deal options.

First time here. Very Good food. Nice staff. They cook to order so food might come in one at a time. Loved the wings!!! We ordered the promo 20 pc for $22. Had to order more to go.

Always a lover of the soy garlic wings and the soy garlic bimibap. Not super busy when we arrived, everything was clean and service was great. The crunch on the wings is always top-notch.

Went here on a whim and was thoroughly impressed. The staff was very nice and everything was pretty clean. Food was absolutely delicious! I am very particular about my fried chicken, so I came in skeptical. I told the gentleman taking my order that I wanted my wings fried hard, and I noticed he didn't put it on the ticket, and I was immediately unsure about the results. When we got our chicken, I was stunned at how crispy and fresh it was. He told me that they double fry the chicken for extra crispy, crunchy goodness. And he was right. Everything was hot and fresh and tasted absolutely wonderful. I got the Korean street corn, which was pretty good, and chicken wings, half soy garlic and Korean BBQ sauce. The Korean BBQ had a bit of a kick but not overwhelming spicy and the soy garlic had no spice at all, so if you don't like spicy things it is a good place to start. 10/10 would highly recommend.

So much more than your basic chicken & fries combos here. Love the variety of flavors and everything is made fresh.

My family has ordered delivery food from here various times and we have had the tacos and pork buns which were good! Pictured is Bulgogi fries that my friend and I shared which is was the perfect amount and really yummy. The cashier was nice and the inside is cute and quant place. It was also cutely decorated for the holidays.

It was time for a new place for lunch, and we decided on Bonchon. We decided to try the strips rather than bone-in wings and fried dumplings. The strips were hand-battered and very tender, a really good size. Both sauces we tried were awesome, and I liked the pickled radish. The dumplings were nice and crispy, and they dipped them in sauce like the wings, but they stayed crispy and were delicious. Be careful, they came out blazing hot. It's cool inside, with a black/white/red mural on one wall. Korean pop plays on the sound system. Service was friendly and patient, she could tell we hadn't been here before. Food came out pretty quickly, and as it was ready. We will definitely be back to try some other menu items, I'm going to try the sandwich.

So I tried Bonchon this weekend with my boyfriend. We had a mini feast with the Soy garlic chicken, galbi fries and the corn side! We really enjoyed it. We ordered our food for carry out and it was ready in a reasonable amount of time, too! I've tried a few different Korean fried chicken places and we both were satisfied. It's not the MOST mind blowing I've had, but I was craving it and it really hit the spot! To be fair, the best I EVER had was in Canada and it remains truly hard to beat, so I still recommend trying this place as I believe it's one of the only with korean chicken around the area. It was crunchy and flavorful. Side note: The corn side was not my favorite, I expected more cheesiness

Tried this place for the first time today. It was very good. My husband and I ordered the Korean Tacos and spicy chicken fried rice to share. My husband also ordered the bulgogi fries. Our friend ordered the lunch special with the chicken fingers and fries. He did soy garlic and Korean bbq on his fingers. Portion sizes are very generous! We had a lot of leftovers that we brought home to my two teens. The spicy chicken was definitely spicy-not inedible spice but definitely left a warm glow for a good while after eating. We thought the food was tasty and we will be back again. The lady at the counter taking orders was very pleasant. Her and the gentleman in the back also helped a customer carry out a large carry out order which was nice to see. Atmosphere was just average but it looked pretty clean.

Best soy garlic drumsticks. Not only it's crunchy and flavorful but also juicy. Korean bbq sauce is a bit tangy and has that acquired taste of gochujang sauce. I prefer soy garlic sauce. Surprisingly we got the food within 5 mins which is very quick. Probably we went there right when they opened. Great customer service, dining area is clean too. Parking is easy. Will definitely come back

Stopped here on a whim for a quick lunch. Opted for the boneless wings, 1/2 Soy Garlic sauce, 1/2 Korean BBQ. As far as taste goes, they were awesome. However, they are basically just a really crunchy, glorified chicken nugget. You know, the kind that is formed and isn't just a chunk of real chicken. So that was kind of a bummer. Other than that, the service was fast and friendly and the place was clean. Worth a stop if you like Korean fried chicken

Really enjoy the soy garlic flats from here. Definitely very good of you like fried anything. The spicy wings are on the spicier side so be prepared if you order that. The quality of the chicken is very good which it puts it above other fast food wing places. I usually get takeout as there's not many tables at the restaurant.

Terrible service! Order took forever to come, realizing that nothing had even been made yet. They need more employees working because it's very unprofessional to have customers waiting over 30 minutes for an order in an empty restaurant!!

The soy garlic flavor on these wings are amazing. Ordered this from DoorDash and by the time I got it home it was still very crispy. The japchae is delicious and a huge portion.

The staff was pleasant and solicitous. They were kind and the place was neat and clean. There are a lot of chicken places popping up, so it's hard to be a stand out. We ate in and the service was good. Portions were as expected and generous. The chicken was tender and juicy and well prepared. Value was okay. I'd definitely stop in again and would recommend to anyone who asked.

Flavors are great, but the chicken was about 60% breading. This bonchon bowl "main dish" is not enough food and I will not be back. Dining area felt clean and sleek.

The fried chicken is as scrumptious as it is claimed to be, so crunchy and so good! I also ordered a side of fries with parsley and seasoning, very good! I will be back the next time I have a fried chicken craving! 10/10 highly recommend! The gentleman who took my order was kind and polite. I didn't wait long for my food, maybe 8 minutes or so! It was hot, the chicken was fresh, and I was a very happy gal!

Ya know, I've never had Korean chicken before. I've heard lots about it, and stumbled in here today when the sushi spot I wanted to try was closed. Walking in, the place is well decorated and has a fast casual atmosphere. There's seating but not a ton. Fine. I tried to review the menu and noticed they have a variety of items to choose from. Chicken sandwiches, tacos, and of course, chicken wings. The lady behind the counter helped me out and showed me the daily lunch specials which caught my eye. They actually seemed like a good idea so I went ahead and ordered the 8 piece boneless chicken wings with a side of coleslaw and a drink. While I was waiting for my food, I went to the drink station for a beverage and saw they had my new favorite pop, Stubborn products! But they were out of the vanilla flavored one. BOO. They were also out of another drink as well. It was literally down to Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, Mountain Dew and Stubborn Root Beer. Since I cannot stand Pepsi products, I went with the root beer. Not bad! I think they also had a station for fresh brewed iced tea, but it was empty. Yet another boo hiss. My food eventually came out and it was actually really good! You can use chop sticks or forks and knives, as they provide both here. I did ask for a side of ranch to go with it which was great. Overall a really great experience and I would gladly dine here again. I want to try the tacos and chicken sandwich, so that's on my short list of things to eat here.

Giving this location a try and hoping they are a bit more generous with their spicy sauce for the 20 piece boneless wings we ordered. The meal comes with a complimentary pickled radish or slaw. I picked radish and added a side of slaw and a side of kimchi too. Our bill is $35.30 for 20 piece boneless chicken wings with spicy sauce, side of slaw, kimchi and the complimentary pickled radish. Ordering is quick and easy. They will bring out your food tray to you. Small dining area. I did ask for more spicy sauce. The owner said they brush it on. I said I realize that. I asked again for more sauce. He asked me to try it, it's spicy and no customers ask for more sauce. I told him we tried the one in Farmington Hills and it didn't have enough sauce for us. He reluctantly brought us a little bit in a ramekin. We used up the little sauce given to us to kick up and coat the boneless wings some more. Their kimchi at their chain is a bit more mature than I like. I had a Napa cabbage end in our container. The radish kimchi is refreshing. The slaw wasn't too bad. The boneless wings aren't bad, although I had one gristly piece. Guess it could be worse.

Super delicious bulgogi Korean tacos! The sauce was fantastic and it had a wee bit of a kick which I enjoyed. Good service and my tacos came out in a timely manner. Which is even a bigger deal as this location recently opened. No complaints at all!

We went here yesterday a.k.a. a a Monday evening. It was raining, but it was still steady. A lot of people do carry out it seems like. We sat in and ate in, and there were three other parties there at the same time as us. The food came out incredibly fast and fresh, and the workers answered any questions that we had about the menu. I saw that there are going to be new menu items coming out, and so I am very excited to try those. The interior was so fun and reminded me of a Korean street pub. The wallpaper is really fun and seems like a straight out of a comic book.

This place has gotten stingy with serving sizes, for $6 there should be more fries than what is pictured.

overhyped and overpriced I wasn't impressed by their food at all, especially with a lot of the Korean fried chicken places in the area with better quality and taste was disappointed coming here.

Always happy to see Korean Fried Chicken getting its due and this place is one of the bigger chains around. The chicken is solid, but I always feel that this place and its other locations skimp a bit on the sauce. Also with any Korean fried chicken place you have to be sure to order well ahead as they fry to order and it does take a healthy amount of time.

It's a fast food casual spot, the food was fresh and hot. We ordered soy garlic chicken wings with fries. The chicken breading is very crispy and crunchy, and the sauces are on point!!

We've driven by this a bunch of times so we decided to finally give it a try and really liked it. It was easy to order online and it was ready very quickly. We had to try the fried chicken so we got a small order of the chicken fingers with he soy garlic sauce and it was really good. We also had the potstckers and fried rice with bulgogi and they were both very good, too! We will definitely be back!

Stopped in based off of other Yelp reviews while traveling. From now on, I will stop at every Bonchon within a 2 hour radius of myself. Trying to not go over the top here, but this was honestly the best chicken I have ever had. The crispiness and flavor of the breading is something I will likely be searching for trying to emulate (likely without success) at home. Paired perfectly with a Sapporo, this was one of the best meals I have had in some time.

Cashier was a kind soul, treating us with much respect. Checked up on all of his customers even during a busy hour. Would definitely recommend to friends and visit again! Awesome wings and the best bao! Best Korean Chicken I have ever tried.

I had heard about this place and honestly I was not going to rush over there and try it, but then I heard really good things about this Troy location, so I rushed over here the first chance I could and it was worth it. For me, the under hyped star was the Korean cheesey street corn. It was sooo good! The portion was a nice size, I ate it when I purchased it, I had my family try it, and I even finished eating it for breakfast. I had a nice amount of may zest and cheese. I could not stop eating it. It looked like they even topped it with tempora flakes and green onion. I would order this every time. I wanted to try a variety of things. The bad thing is that you cannot really mix and match the chicken or get it in smaller portions and the place is a bit pricey, but not too bad considering I seemed to get a lot of food for my money. So I had the three drum lunch special with fries. The drums were way bigger than I thought. They were crispy and crackley with the right amount of soy garlic. The fries were really good too, very crunchy and fresh. The box was a good size to share with my family. Obviously I got the side of corn. I also got a five piece soy garlic chicken strip with a tiny slaw. I did not love the slaw and wish they would allow other sides like kimchi slaw. But those strips were amazing. So crispy and crunchy. The strips were a nice size and big enough to share. I also tried the agave vanilla cream soda. That was really good. I would love to see that at more restaurants. I think my child would come back just for the pop. I took home the food for the family to sample and they also really enjoyed it. I would get the strips again, and I would also like to try their noodles, bowls, and chicken sandwich. I am interested in the fried rice and pot stickers. This is somewhere I could see us going to get a casual bite as a family.

The wife and I decided to try this out and we was not disappointed. I had some potstickers and the 6 wings. The spicy sauce was real good but the soy garlic was amazing. I had that on the pot stickers and it was spot on. The wife had the tenders and fries and she thought the 5 piece was more than enough food and the kids liked the chicken tenders too. I thought they were a bit dry but could have been luck of the draw on the tender selection. We will for sure be going back.

MInimium service here, which I don't mind. The fried chicken is wonderful. Probably the best around this area that I've tried. Crunchy and flavorful. They don't have too many options on the flavor of the sauce. We enjoyed the soy sauce and spicy sauce, and I prefer the spicy.

If I could leave zero stars I would. My husband and I went with friends. I did not eat I only went to meet some of his friends. Was charged 34.99 to just sit. Floor was so dirty, server was rude, food runner was the most rude. It was a terrible experience. Also don't ask to have carry out box they charge 18!

I was super excited to try a new Korean place. While everything was really filling, especially that RICE! The boneless chicken (as photo'd) is soooo tiny :(. So expensive as well for only 12 little pieces! That really saddened me. I needed the protein, but this did not taste like a clean source. The chicken had made my mama sick :(. The rice and kimchi are definitely yummy winners! And we tried the donuts, which are tasty. I wanted to like this so badly but I spent $60 jus to make my mama sick :( for good rice.

Pros: the food is incredible, so good! The kimchi is also very good, authentic. I like the dining style, order then sit down while they bring you the food. Overall satisfying! Cons: parking is horrible, not good for large groups. You have to park on the side or even across the place at the stores parking a lot. Price is high for wings.

Finally Korean Fried Chicken Bonchon is here in Troy! I always craving for it when I moved back here from New York. I got the Soy Garlic Wings with fries and pickle Radish. The wing is crispy outside and tender juicy inside. They also offer crunchy chicken bowl, I'll try it next visit. Overall, friendly services and great experience. Thank you!

The bulgogi tacos are possibly the best Korean tacos I've ever had. The fries are excellent as well. Service is very fast. I've eaten here several times, and would definitely recommend!

If I could give zero stars I would. My husband had order spicy wings and it was for sure not Korean fried chicken wings. The chicken was not double fried, it was not crispy at all. I have never been to a Bon Chon that served chicken wings that were not crispy. These wings were basically chicken wings that was cooked and then tossed in sauce. So disappointing.

As a wildly growing food chain for the infamous Korean fried chicken craze, I had to try! Overall, everyone was very nice! The chicken definitely can taste and hear all of the crunchiness! Sauces are on point! I will say it is a little pricy for what you get but if you got a Korean fried chicken craving, this is the place!

I pass by this place many times and finally decided to try. I like their menu. It was easy to read and not confusing but on the pricey side. Decided to try out their chicken strips and seasoned fries that was their special of the day I guess. I would suggest to order on line cause it took awhile for my order. They were hot and crunchy and the seasoned fries were awesome. Ate my left over strips at home and they remained crunchy after sitting in the box for an hour. They were more on the crunchy side then crispy. I think they cook it twice. I will be back and try others on the menu.

I got half and half spicy and soy garlic. It is so nice. Crispy crispy and crispy!! Even next day it's like new crispy. I will definitely recommend!! 5 out of 5!!

We were excited to try Bonchon after this location opened! We ordered the spicy and the soy garlic wings. Both sauces were good. The chicken was a little crispier than I usually like, but the flavor was nice. I hope to try some of their other items soon.

Probably one of the best services ever received! Having just opened recently, the staff was very kind and helpful. My sisters and I knew about BONCHON and have it often when we travel and was very excited to hear about this new opening; so we decided to venture to it. The owners and managers were very welcoming, asking us to see if we had everything, asking about about service received from staff and even handed out extra sauces/sides without asking and appreciative for sure will make more stops in the future!!

Yes! Had the bulgogi tacos and they were fantastic. After 2 of them, I was full. I didn't have the wings, but others around me did, and they did not look slimy- a pet peeve of mine. The establishment was clean and well run. I will be back and recommend to friends.

Went to both the Troy and Farmington Hills locations and the food was delicious at both. The "spicy" boneless wings were hot but not overpowering, the fried rice was great, and the tacos were outstanding.

We made an order online and ordered curbside. That process was easy and our food was ready right when we got there. We got the family meal with bone-in wings. The best thing were the fries. The chicken was hard and dry, especially the drumsticks. The drumsticks didn't have much batter on it and the skin was mostly peeled off so the chicken meat itself was very dry and hard. We got half soy garlic and half spicy. The soy garlic didn't have much flavor. The spicy wings were hotter than what I would prefer. The coleslaw and kimchi tasted off, like it was spoiled or they misused an ingredient.

It's the the best chicken in town. The services were great and nice people. Strongly recommend. Must try.

This was a yummie treat! We had the chicken, kimchi and coleslaw. The chicken was good with a zesty sweet taste. I loved the kimchi!
