The NYC Restaurants In Miami, Ranked - Miami - The Infatuation

"Bondi is a sushi spot that’s a step above casual (but not too fancy) with six locations in NYC, and now one in South Beach. Prices aren’t quite cheap enough to make Bondi feel like a bargain. Nigiri and handrolls average about $6 to $12 for an order of two. They also do a 12-piece omakase for $75 per person, which lasts for only a dizzying 30 minutes and will have you wondering what, exactly, you just paid for. The quality of fish isn’t awful, but the rice is—particularly the gummy crispy rice they claim to be known for." - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo

Five Miami Restaurant Openings You Might Have Missed | Eater Miami

"I note that NYC-based Bondi Sushi has opened its first location outside New York in Miami Beach, carrying NYC favorites like Caviar Toast and Uni Toast alongside offerings such as a 12-piece omakase and a Miami-exclusive Luxe Box to-go set (eight pieces of nigiri, eight-piece maki, a selection of crispy rice, and a chirashi salad). The cocktail program is by Bondi’s Michelin award-winning sister restaurant noda and cocktail bar Shinji’s, with drinks like Seafoam and Lavender Haze, and the brand plans further expansion to Midtown and Brickell." - Olee Fowler

Google
You absolutely mus try the scallop sashimi here. Stopped by for a qu, easy $5 happy-hour hand rolls that were clean and simple and good, but this scallop sashimi entirely blew my mind. Restaurant presentation and tastes so fresh and yummy. 100% recommended!

My friends and I came to the Scope event on South Beach and and ate at the Bondi pop up. Scoob, the manager, was incredibly engaged and thoughtful in offering recommendations while overseeing his team with precision. The food was wonderful and the service was professional and warm. Definitely visiting the Bondi location in South Beach more often.

Google
This used to be our favorite sushi restaurant, but our experiences have been inconsistent. This was our third time dining here, and we’ve realized that our experience depends entirely on the server… • First visit: The food was 5/5, and the server was amazing! • Second visit: The food was still great, but the service was slow, even though the restaurant wasn’t busy. They also got our order wrong. • Third visit: The food remained consistent, but the atmosphere was disappointing. The music was unbearably loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Additionally, when we ordered a Shirley Temple, the waiter immediately said they didn’t have it. When we mentioned that we had ordered it before, he simply said, “Okay,” without even checking with the bartender. That lack of effort was frustrating… Overall, while the food is consistently good, the service and atmosphere have been hit or miss. If they improve their service and create a more comfortable dining environment, it could be a five-star experience…

Google
Came in for an uber order, and immediately was greeted and told where to go. On the to go side scoob was ready to help and was able to give me a few sights of the menu for when I come back and dine in and the place is really CLEAN!! Looking forward to coming back. 🥰

Google
This is officially our favorite Bondi location! We knew Bondi from back in NYC but since moving to Miami this is definitely our go-to for sushi in Miami Beach. The team really go above and beyond to provide an amazing dining experience — friendly and attentive service and great food! We went for late lunch last weekend and had the best time. Will be recommending to all our friends in the area too. Already looking forward to returning!

Google
Oh my goodness i didn't go in person cuz im lazy but oh my god i have never had such an amazing well-organized well-priced delivery service ever. Not only do the ginger and wasabi come in separate containers but the soy sauce comes in this cute little place inside of the box instead of a packet. Then when it comes down to the sushi itself it's amazing and tastes very high quality and delicious. The only complaint i have is that the seaweed is too intact and almost chocked on it but it still tastes good!!

Google
The omakase experience was absolutely incredible! Every dish was crafted to perfection, with the freshest fish and impeccable flavors. The uni, unagi, toro, and the A5 fugu were all standouts—each bite was a masterpiece. While the food was phenomenal, the wine selection could use improvement. Adding some high-quality champagne and better sparkling wine options would really elevate the overall experience. That said, the food alone makes this a must-visit spot for any sushi lover. Highly recommended!

Google
Scoob and Byron made our night absolutely amazing! From the moment we sat down, they were warm, attentive, and genuinely fun to interact with. They anticipated everything we needed without us ever having to ask, gave great recommendations, and kept the whole experience seamless. The sushi was delicious, but their service is what made the meal unforgettable. Scoob and Byron are true gems—you can tell they love what they do and it shows. We’ll definitely be back and will be asking for them again!

Yelp
Wowie! Had a fabulous meal here tonight (1/4/26). Thank you, Julio for the great service, and thank you Chef Byron for your excellent meal prep and vision! Julio checked in on us many times to assure things were fabulous (they were!) and Chef Byron was friendly and engaging. I've had a catered meal outside the restaurant before, but tonight was my first in house dinner. It was delicious, and did not disappoint! Woohoo! I showed up around 7:45p with a friend after a long day of exercise, and it sounds like we arrived just after the dinner rush. Lots of open seats at the sushi bar (and super cute couches with tables outside). We were surprised to learn about Sushi Sunday, which included killer deals on drinks ($5 beer/wine, as well as some other signature options for $7 and $10), as well as deals on lots of appetizers, hand rolls ($5), and desserts. We sat inside and the cool AC was perfect for us. I tried 3 hand rolls: lobster, salmon, and truffle avocado. Each was prepared quickly and expertly by Chef Byron. My friend also tried the scallop hand roll. The nori (seaweed paper) was crispy and fresh, and all the ingredients were delicious. We also tried the tuna crispy rice (slight variations in the size of each bite, but the flavor was spot on), a surf and turf roll (yummmmm), salmon sashimi, and the chocolate lava cake with caramel ice cream. The sashimi was cut beautifully and came with some greens and a tasty sesame and soy/yuzu sauce for a little flair. The cake was more cooked than lava, but it was rich and the perfect amount of sweetness that paired beautifully with a "Black Velvet" martini (their take on an espresso martini which had sake in it). I am so happy to have found this neighborhood gem on West Ave, and will consider this a top spot! I plan to go back, and you should too!!

Yelp
Fresh ingredients Friendly staff My favorite local spot for quick light and yummy sushi

Yelp
Love this sushi spot on west ave! Their hh is great with many drink and food deals. The handrolls are so fresh and the crispy rice is some of the best I've ever had. Flavors on point and high quality ingredients. The servers were so nice and friendly. Food and drinks came out quick. Cool ambiance too- you can sit outside or inside at the bar.
google avatar

Yelp
Food, service, experience was everything. I love this local spot for a quick bite. Scoob was the absolute best waiter and gave me a birthday sake cake + this fabulous matcha white chocolate chip cookie (after insisting I didn't want dessert)! The team here will take care of u and make you feel at home. Please stop by and ask for scoob!!!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I ordered food to be delivered from Anastasia- the food was never delivered. No one answered the phone, no one took responsibility. I ordered the food for a party and nothing ever came. I even spoke to her in the AM to make sure there would be no issues- I got the number of the owner and got no response. This is negligent. Don't ever order from Bondi Sushi when there are a million other places that would be happy to take the order and make things right. Bad service
google avatar

Bo B.

Yelp
4.5 stars Love the hand rolls here. Everything is so good - crab, lobster, yellowtail, spicy tuna, etc. The seaweed is warm and crispy and compliments the sushi rice and fish very well.

Yelp
Place still slaps every time. Great for small parties or dining solo. Great Lunch deal. Fresh fish. Good service. And good rewards program. Had indoor and outdoor seating.

Yelp
They rolled out the red carpet for me at Bondi Sushi! I got the omakase, because it's an amazing price, and it was a great. Each piece of sushi was innovative and unique with complex flavors and ingredients. Caviar and truffles? Yes please! It also flowed well, from more simple pieces to fattier pieces to a hand roll. The food was amazing but the highlight was the service! The chefs and server were so friendly and kind, and they all talked to me about where they were from, how the sushi was prepared, and more. The bonus was when they gave me a dessert on the house! I was looking for a special meal in South Beach and this was the perfect fit.

Yelp
Great food and Scooby did a great job taking care of us for my friends birthday. Thank you

Yelp
Not enough good things to say about this place! My boyfriend picked this spot for a Valentines Day dinner and it was 10/10 delicious. We were looking for a decent handroll spot in Miami and this was beyond decent!! Btw their happy hour is PHENOMENAL. Probably one of the best deals in Miami! All handrolls are $5 and cocktails are just as cheap (around $8) and sooo good. We had Dylan as our server and Camillo as our sushi chef and both were chef's kiss, amazing! They were patient and kind. They explained things and helped us order. They paced out our handrolls. We ordered like 8 different handrolls and a few nigiri's and everything was extremely fresh and made with the best technique. You can tell the chef's really care about the fish and the servers really want you to have a great experience. The ambiance was nice and quiet. Great lighting and atmosphere. I can't WAIT to be back!

Francesca R.

Yelp
Recently moved to South Beach and this is my go to spot. It's super clean! Fresh fish gets delivered every day. And the staff are super friendly and welcoming. They even gave me a shot of sake on the house. Definitely will be going back here.

Yelp
Bondi.. oh Bondi. I've been here over a handful of times now and it has stayed consistent! Im usually here after work with a couple coworkers and as soon as we walk in, we are greeted with a friendly smile and a "welcome back!". The staff always makes sure we are good and satisfied with the service. When we're not enjoying $5 handrolls during happy hour, you can catch us ordering everything off the dinner menu Haha. It's that good! From the lobster yuzu crispy rice to the green tea moshi dessert. My favorite has to be the spicy blue crab handroll and king salmon nigiri! This place is like an a la carte omakase. The chef makes the food right in front of you and he'll make sure to let you know that you only have a minute to eat your handroll before it loses its crunchy texture. (The 5 handrolls for $40 is the best way to try them all) We probably get that every time. I love the ambiance here. It's sleek and lowkey. It'd be hard to run into anyone that's not a local and I love that for the neighborhood. Soon enough everyone will know about Bondi. A place that services high quality sushi with extraordinaire service is a hard thing to gatekeep! Hopefully we are able to do brunch here. The menu looks superb. All you can drink sake?! Count me in!

Yelp
Bondi is an amazing casual dining vibe with high quality sushi! I'm so happy because Miami needed more of this for moments when you just want to chill with fabulous sushi. The menu is fantastic and prices are super fair. I love the shokupan toast, think of it like a Japanese bruschetta. So fun! The crispy rice is delicately crispy like if you were to scrape it fresh from a pan, I love this. The seafood is fresh, sashimi does not disappoint. Spicy blue crab hand roll is amazing and so are the rolls. I highly recommend sushi lovers to enjoy an experience here. Bondi sushi exceeds your expectations and will make you want to come back to try the entire menu!

Joe

Yelp
Love this place, Byron is amazing always the best service when he's working, you know it's going to be 10/10 when he's preparing your sushi!

Yelp
I was excited to try Bondi Sushi. I've since ordered take out twice. Both times I had the spicy tuna crispy rice ($12) and one time I had the miso soup ($6). The first time was a lot better than the first. The rice was crispier and the tuna was fresher. The soup was also tasty and a good portion. The second time I had the crispy tuna the flavor was a bit off as was the texture. I do think the portions could be a bit bigger for the price. I'll still give it another shot and try other items on the menu! They have the food ready quickly to pick up. They also have dine in which looks very nice with indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely will try it as well!

Yelp
Amazing service, fast, food was good, and Scoob was great! The mochi was amazing as well highly recommend

Yelp
What an incredible dining experience; cute ambiance; whether you choose to dine inside or out. We were greeted by Luis, who was warm and welcoming (I can't stress enough the importance of customer service). I was feeling adventurous and quite hungry so instead of mulling over the menu, I simply asked Luis to pick anything that was able to please my palate; from sashimi to sushi and hand rolls and truffle, it was great! Closing out the dining experience with the chocolate soufflé was exquisite. Chef Henry and the team were great and it was worth the drive. Also, be sure to check out their upcoming openings in Wynwood, Brickell and Fort Lauderdale. Enjoy!
google avatar

Chichi S.

Yelp
Another great experience; Sabrina the hostess and chef Ariel went out of their way to make sure everyone at the counter had a wonderful meal! Will keep coming back.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing sushi, my go to is the wagyu hand rolls, very tasty, and priced right. I'm a local resident, and they offer rewards points that can be redeemed towards your bill.
google avatar

Yelp
Creative presentation by Chef Saya. Fresh and delicious. Sushi bar is the place to sit to watch the master in action. GM Patrick is a delightful host. Recommend this place for true sushi foodies! Some vegan options too.
google avatar

Leoncio P.

Yelp
The Sushi chef is amazingly good. The managers are not. I'm here right now, asked for a Cold house sake decanter and it was warm. And... here's the kicker, only half full. The "manager" said it's because it's happy hour. WTF? I complained and he filled it up. I'll keep the chef, throw everyone else away.
google avatar

Yelp
I have been wanting to try this place since I heard about it in New York a long time ago. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in my $30 sushi box. I ordered the Bondi Best with half white rice and half brown rice. The soy sauce was so salty, I could not use it. The Shrimp Avocado Roll and the Truffle Avocado Roll were both good, but the avocado was mushy and the roll did not stay together. The Salmon Cucumber Roll and the Spicy Crab Roll were not good and the crab did not taste fresh. I placed my order for curbside pickup, but when I called the restaurant to let them know I was outside, the guy told me I would have to come inside. There is street parking available, but it is very limited. The quality of the sushi is not worth the high price tag.
google avatar

Maya K.

Yelp
The food and service here is amazing. Seriously some of the freshest sushi ever. Spicy tuna handroll, salmon nigiri, salmon sashimi, and lava cake are a must. The rice in the nigiri is cooked perfectly. Toro nigiri was also yum, literally melted in my mouth. The cocktails are yum, make sure to come during happy hour they are only $8. Dillon was very sweet as well as the other employees. So happy I stumbled across this place. Inside is very clean and sushi bar is huge, lots of seating as well as outside seating. Most definitely recommend!

Pam T.

Yelp
So happy to have tried Bondi Sushi and we want it to be in our neighborhood FOREVER! It's tucked away on South Beach's Bay side, on West Avenue, and has several nice outdoor shaded tables on the very wide sidewalk and a long sushi bar inside where you can chat with the sushi chefs. But more important, his may be the freshest, most delectable sushi I have ever had at a very fair price. If you arrive before 6 pm, you can catch happy hour, where most drinks from saki ($5) to cocktails (maybe $8) will make your wallet happy (handrolls are $5). From the main menu we had lobster yuzu on a handroll (the seaweed in the roll is crackling and exceptional) and on crispy rice, and spicy tuna on crispy rice as well (the perfect crispness, as in not too crisp). All with delightful touches like a sprinkling of roe or a pretty herb and a slice of avocado. The scallop nigiri with pink salt was out of this world, just slightly edging out the deep red Chur Toro nigiri. We finished with two pieces of Unagi. Then the chef surprised us with complementary salmon tartar on Japanese milk bread, something delightful that we had never even heard of, even though we've been eating sushi for decades. All in all, just a dazzling visit to this gem of West Avenue!

Brian G.

Yelp
Horrible horrible experience!! Placed a small takeout order for 2 people at 7pm told ready at 7:30pm. It's now 8:17pm and nothing!! For the crazy high prices Go somewhere else!!
google avatar

Lisa L.

Yelp
We really enjoyed every dish. Great service, nice and relaxing atmosphere. I had a few haply hr hand rolls, crispy rice with tuna and yellowtail + yummy chocolate lava for dessert. Definitely we ll be back!

Matt D.

Yelp
vic was great. very nice food very nice people. Very nice place. Very nice day. Very nice life.
google avatar

April D.

Yelp
Very good food and the staffs service is excellent. Mochi dessert was so good. This is like a express kind of experience but so good when you want quick, light and simple
google avatar

Gabby E.

Yelp
SO GOOD. Upscale omakase or just good sushi experience. Bar style dining with the chef at your finger tips. Grade A sushi. Quality. Perfect for a quick lunch break (delish) trip. Serving staff & sushi chef explain Everurhing to the T and make you feel at home.

Trisha G.

Yelp
Was really excited about this place and it under delivered on all fronts - food and service were not good.
google avatar

Tima C.

Yelp
I went there for happy hour with a coworker and it was pretty good, the place is new and clean but missing a little touch to make it special.. but happy hour is pretty good $5 roll, $5 beers, wines and sake. The food was ok drinks and service too, but nothing special! Will come back there probably for happy hour
google avatar

Ruth A.

Yelp
Really enjoyed dinner here! The rolls are fairly priced and they're filling. The truffle avocado with cucumber was such a treat. The spicy edamame lived up to its name. Would definitely come back!

Julio Q.

Yelp
Have ordered through uber eats a couple of time and everybtime it is INEDIBLE. Given the lack o sushi spots in the area a friend always ends up convincing me to try it. We did today and we got A frozen assortment of sushi. Everything had the same taste even though i ordered crab, salmon, mushrrooms and tuna. It was like eating frozen rubber. I cannot stress enough how NEVER order from this restaurant. It is the lowest quality high priced sushi imitation that will give you a stomach ache. I have never posted a review in my life. I opened this account just to post this. Thats how bad this was.

Carlos F.

Yelp
I used to work for this company. And the fraud level is unbelievable. The managers don't do the work and eat the best and are extremely disrespectful. There are some higher ups that are great people but when it comes to Bondi on west. Worst place ever. Couldn't even give me 40 hours even though I was hired for full time. Just so everyone knows by law 32 hours is minimum. Hope you guys survive through all this because the chefs over there are over it. Maybe you should take more care of your staff. Ambiance is nice except when you take forever as a manger because you think you are above everyone and that they can wait. You are wrong and someone needs to tell you that. If you want to talk about this and how it could be better it can't unless you change most of your team. But at least everyone else gets to see what kind of company you are.

A R.

Yelp
I've never felt compelled to leave a bad review at a place in my entire life but Bondi Sushi changed that for me tonight. I ordered a to-go box online and when I got there I changed my mind because it was nice out and I wanted to sit outside. The restaurant and outside seating were completely empty. I even asked the to-go people if it was okay and they said of course. I finished my meal and went to leave and the server for the ONE couple that sat down to eat chased after me and said I have to throw my box away. Are you serious? There was no trash/service bin at the front of the restaurant or else I would have. She then proceeds to scold me like I was a horrible person for what I did as if I wasn't eating the food from the very restaurant she works at. She even said "I'm not your server why would I throw away your box?" I've worked in restaurants my whole life, you throw away all kinds of trash. You grab things for other tables. That's just how it is. I ended up having to walk down the street and throw it away in a public city trash can. As I was walking by I see her pointing at me to the other people working and they sarcastically waved at me. Really insane behavior for such a minor issue, please train your staff on common hospitality! Don't go here unless you want god awful service. Sushi was great though.
google avatar

Paula V.

Yelp
Lovely first experience. The food is amazing. Simple but flavorful, we ordered almost everything off the menu. GREAT hand rolls. We sat outside and it was raining. Powerful umbrellas I can say
google avatar

Sergey O.

Yelp
Bondi is bomb! Portions are small, but perfectly priced for someone wanting to try everything without breaking the bank. Taste: amazing! Loved everything. My kids enjoyed it as well. The shishito peppers were made with a type of wasabi sauce which we didn't like. However, the staff changed it on the spot. They were very nice. Love the place. Love the ambiance. Nothing too fancy which is what we're looking for. Just great sushi at a great price.
google avatar

Enrique E.

Yelp
A really great Sushi spot Menu is fun and all the dishes were incredible Thanks for moving into the neighborhood
google avatar

Rocky M.

Yelp
We stumbled into this place not knowing what to expect at Happy Hour. We fell in love! The hot + spicy blue crab hand roll was our absolute favorite and they made us a couple of extra "on the house" because we loved it so much. Great staff, great ambiance and wonderful food! Highly recommend this place!!!

Troy F.

Yelp
Really a wonderful experience all around the food was exceptional. Service was also great. Look forward to going back
google avatar

Asim Z.

Yelp
Anyone that rated this place less than a 5 is insane. No one on this review thread knows sushi like me and it's fookin amazing here! Service was phenomenal and ambiance is great. Prices are insanely affordable. Now I can't say anything about the takeout section which seems to be the complaints by some people.. but why da fook are you taking out sushi lol. Sit your fat a$$ down and eat the best sushi in Miami Beach at a great price! Tell them @GoatShed (IG) sent you
google avatar

Adeola O.

Yelp
Really cute little sushi bar. at first I was a bit irritated that they don't serve rolls (just hand rolls, nigir, sashimi, and crispy rice). But I was pleasantly surprised. Overall everything is pretty simple but solid.
google avatar

Mikal S.

Yelp
The food was great, but double check your bill. We ordered the Omakase and were charged almost double and somehow two employees didn't notice. A huge let down after what was otherwise a great meal.
google avatar

Vijay M.

Yelp
Fish is fresh and the rolls were delicious. We especially loved the yellowtail and wagyu rolls. Ambiance is great with seating directly in front of the chefs. A wider selection of sake would be nice. Overall great experience.

Jordyn H.

Yelp
the food was incredible! fresh and delicious. highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar . we can't wait to come back!

Alejandro M.

Yelp
Talk to Julio and get the off menu Toro Negi shokupan. The Blue crab and lobster handrolls are my favorites, with the chu toro nigiri one we always order. Sit inside or outside, the bar brings you really close to the food.
google avatar

Anna V.

Yelp
Awesome happy hour drinks and rolls at excellent prices especially for south beach great service
google avatar

Brett V.

Yelp
Had big hopes for this but very disappointed. Rolls were not that good. The sticky rice tasted like it was sitting all day. Was expecting to be much better for the price they are asking. Getting a feeling they will not make in the west ave neighborhood. Locals look for great value and you don't get it here. Much better sushi in the area for better prices.

Candace B.

Yelp
Service was not up to par! We waited over an hour for our main course!.. the manager came out and said can he give us a bottle of water in the house... it was tap water the disrespect that we got have never seen. The food was basically thrown at us on the table and didn't cater to my allergy restrictions. I was served what I was allergic to . Then they had the audacity to make me pay for that (which wasn't eaten)! I will never go to this establishment. Trash staff, dirty restaurant, food quality I rate this place a ZERO!
